SceneGraph Plus - Updated
SceneGraph Plus V1.7
IMPORTANT: Fixed game crash caused by setting a TXMT's cMaterialDefinition:Description value blank for certain Types, that is "Clear All Optional Names" no longer applies to the cMaterialDefinition:Description value.
General Enhancements:
Added age and gender codes to XMOL and XTOL blocks' displayed info
Connectors from AGED resources now display information about the type of reference
Filtering Enhancements:
Ctrl-F opens/shows the Filters dialog.
Filters now work with XMOL and XTOL resources (Note: Filtering is based on the displayed block info, NOT on the age/gender values in the associated resources)
Added an "All" button to check all ages and genders.
Switched order of "Realign" and "Apply" buttons as the logical order is "Select Gender, Select Age, Apply, Realign" - which is now a single left to right mouse motion.
The dialog now remembers its location when the main app is closed with the dialog still visible.
Advanced Mode Enhancements:
Loading the SG Cache (either manually or as the app opens) indicates you are willing to accept some performance degradation for extra information about "missing" resources. Missing resources are either custom resources not available in any currently open .package file(s) or Maxis resources. With the SG cache loaded:
Maxis blocks that are present in the game files are now outlined the same as "missing but available" custom resources
Clicking on a Maxis block will display the game file containing that resource and its name

Feb 2024
Gestern bißchen mit dem Rad rumgefahren. Rumgucken, Bilder machen. Das Rumgucken, das Rumstreunen, wie ein kleines Hündchen, ist seit meiner Kindheit meine Lieblingsbeschäftigung. Ich hab mich einfach nicht weiterentwickelt. Stecke ja auch noch immer tief in der oralen Phase, zu der ich auch die Arbeit mit der Nase zähle.
Dabei hatte ich zwei riesige, antiquiert wirkende Kameras – vor meinem Bauch. Die Gurte so eingestellt, daß sie schön untereinanderhängen, als wären sie in Regalfächern untergebracht.
Mein Bauch? Ich sag nur Sandmaennchen international
Früher wär ich niemals in so einem Aufzug vor die Tür gegangen. Die Anonymität der Großstadt (wobei mir Berlin langsam zu klein wird, ich treff' doch immer wieder Bekannte) und die Gleichgültigkeit des älteren Mannes machen mir das Leben so viel einfacher.

Sims 2 Tutorial: Genetic Facial Hair
With a new hairtone bin and hair, you will probably also want some facial hair and eyebrows to go along with them. This takes a little more time than the Hair Tutorial, but the end result will be worth it.
Previous Tutorial: Genetic Hairs
This step is not necessary, but it greatly reduces the amount of copy/pasting you will be doing while in SimPE. Use the HairBinner to bin your hair based on how dominant/recessive your new hair color is: Black/Brown is dominant at 1 and Blond/Red is recessive at 2. If you are doing facial hair that has a limited age range, you can also select the ages at this time.
Next, open up your eyebrows and head into the Texture Overlay XML (XTOL). If you bin the hair, you will see 6 unisex resources available. If you choose not to, there will be 12. Just as with hair, you will go into each Hairtone and change it to the Hex-Code of the bin you want to sort it into. If you want these to be townied, you will adjust the Flag as well to 0. Save.
Next, you need to family the eyebrows to the natural eyebrows you create this one from. Open the original natural set and check in the Texture Overlay XML to make sure they are familied. If for some reason they are not, quickly go into Hairbinner and bin the eyebrows.
Once you are sure they are familied, Copy the Family Hex-Code string. Go back to your new eyebrows and Replace all of the Family Hex-Codes with the one from the natural set.
Finally, you will go replace the eyebrow textures. I personally replace all three with my unnatural hairs, so that when elders age up I can identify what their original haircolor so I can easily fix them with Change Apperance. You can also choose to repository the Elder eyebrows to the adult to save texture space, both methods work.
Finally, save and close SimPE. Open up Bodyshop and test your eyebrows. Select the eyebrow you created and flip between the natural and your new hairtone. If it is working properly, your eyebrows will change automatically.
This method can be used for all facial hair, including accessory hairs that are sorted in the Eyeglasses/Accessory category.
Eyebrows and Facial Hair in general are much easier to use than hairs; they can all be easily selected in Bodyshop, CAS and Change appearance so long as the Sim is currently using the hair. They sort into their own separate categories and do not mix.

THE LINDASIMS2 RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTATION: PART FOUR
I thought that Pol 19 was the end of my research train, but nope, we're still going! The railway seems never-ending!
DISCLAIMER: This is not really a callout post. This is a warning to anyone who intends to download Lindasim's stuff. And a genuine one. I have nothing personal against Linda, this is only what I've found from my own deep dive into Linda's files. I have no proof that what I've found is stuff that Linda herself did, but the stuff does exist. And it's terrible.
You can find the shirt file I use for my 'research' post here. It's part of the reuploaded March 2021 set and from what I can see that entire set is a giant mess.
I discovered this weird glitchy CC from this video by @marticoresims so credit goes to them and their viewers for discovering the glitchiness of it, because I honestly don't think I'd ever have opened up this file otherwise.
WHY IS THIS SHIRT SO UNIQUE?
I mean, it's pretty normal-looking, right? Cute, even. But it harbors a dark secret, more than just PT 19, who we met in my last research post.
But there's a reason this image also exists. To haunt my nightmares instead of my waking moments.
So, let's dive into this mess of a mesh file!
OPENING THE FILE
As always, I opened the mesh file first. And I think it's pretty obvious that this is no ordinary mesh file, because there's wayyy more than the 4 basic elements.
Yep, as you may be able to tell from the OBJD, Age Data, and XTOL, Pollination Technician 19 has returned to haunt my every waking moment!
FLUFFY
The real issue came to light when I checked the GMDCs.
Do you recognise him? Because I sure do! It's my bestie, Fluffy! (You may want to watch Marticore's video to understand because he lives in my head rent-free. Lol.)
Yep, for some reason, this mesh file includes a sneaky little replacement of the adult dog body mesh. However, it's very... borked?
Look how stretchy he is... he's still a good boy though...
I mean, I'm no dog expert, but I've owned dogs ever since I was a baby and have seen plenty of 'em. But I don't think Fluffy over here should exist anywhere except my nightmares.
SUMMARY
Okay, so this shirt file contains a pretty scary replacement for the adult large dog body in TS2. Why should that stop me from downloading it? - some idiot in my ask box, probably, because I don't want to answer a million asks :]
Well, uh, did you miss that part about a hidden sim being in the file? We have not only a hidden broken pollination technician, now we also have gigantoborkodoggo!
So, yeah, I remember a lot of people getting excited and trying to track this shirt CC down when Marticore made her video. So I thought I'd spread the warning that even gigantoborkodoggo isn't a good reason to get Linda's leaked CC.
Because it's not just the mesh file here, but also all 40 recolors of the 'Mandarin' shirt, that are completely filled with hidden NPCs. The recolors don't have the dog replacement, though, because even the person who purposefully destroyed these files knows multiple DRs for one thing are very bad. How kind of them to think of our games 💖
If anyone knows where this giant dog mesh came from, please let me know, because I'd love to make a standalone version for April Fool's someday 👁

Sims 2 Tools - SceneGraph Plus
SceneGraph Plus
SceneGraph Plus is an application to display and manipulate scene graph (mesh and material) resources.
While it is similar to SimPe's scenegrapher, it has major differences:
it is a standalone application;
it can open and write multiple .package files simultaneously;
it displays all connections between resources, and not just those in the chain starting at the "top-most" resources;
it understands recolours (MMAT/GZPS/XMOL/XTOL), wall/floor coverings (XOBJ), fence (XFNC) and roof (XROF) scenegraph chains;
it understands links from STR# resources (0x0085 Model Names to CRES and 0x0088 Material Names to TXMT);
it supports renaming resources - maintaining the integrity of the chain (both names and TGIR values);
it supports relinking resources - enabling broken chains to be repaired.

Some photos from this week
I was able to develop three rolls in Xtol this weekend. I was a little bit nervous they wouldn't come out because this was my first time only using some of the powdered film developer again after it was opened.
Everything seems to have come out great! I did two roll of HP5+ and one roll of Tri-X. All developed at stock dilution and standard times.
I think I like how the HP5+ looked better - excited to print some of these in the darkroom this week.
