A Character Questionnaire - 10, 11, 12 - for the OC of your choice

10. What do other characters like about this character? What do they not like?

Seran / Darth Nox & Tenku'lohi

Seran looks up to Tenku'lohi as a person with way more self-control and rational thought than herself. While she's rushing head first into danger with little care for herself or others, Tenku'lohi comes up with plans and means of problem solving that get less people hurt. But that's also what Seran doesn't like about her mother--Tenku'lohi is too kind, especially to people who don't deserve it. Seran is vindictive and jumps at revenge, while Tenku'lohi will offer chances to come peacefully up until the last shots are fired. She just cares too much. It's not good for her.

On the flip side of that, Tenku'lohi sees her daughter as a fun, intelligent, and powerful young woman. She admires how quickly Seran climbed to power from where she started. What took Tenku'lohi all of her adolescence to accomplish Seran did in hardly four years--and she wound up in an even higher position of power, too. Unfortunately that path up was littered with corpses and other horrific deeds, which Tenku'lohi tried to avoid in her own climb from the bottom. Seran makes Tenku'lohi aware that she likely could have reached her current position--or higher--if she had been just as rutheless. That's not a very pleasant realization to have.

But they do love one another very much.

11. Does this character like people who are like them, or prefer to hang out with people who are very different from them?

Oh, Tenku'lohi cannot stand people like herself. She knows exactly the sort of person that becomes a spy, and can spot a faker from a mile away. Anyone like that or in that profession she knows she can't trust--hence why she was so icy towards Theron when they first met. She'd much rather surround herself with people from all different walks of life. Her innermost circle may be full of people hiding things (and Vector who's too honest for his own good bless him), but they're all very open about being a bunch of deceitful, self-interested, sneaky bastards that it doesn't bother her too much.

12. What tarot card does your character draw from the deck at the beginning or the turning point of their story?

Ooooh. Well. I've just got to do a bunch of these.

Tenku'lohi (IA) draws The Chariot just before meeting Kothe and Hunter, reversed.

Seran (SI) draws Death as she approaches her final fight with Darth Thanaton.

Rezhek (Trooper) draws Justice on her first day in Havoc Squad, but reversed.

Myrus Lor (JC) draws The Emperor, ironically, when she agrees to take Nadia as her Padawan.

And finally, Xilvah Lor (BH) draws The Devil, reversed, shortly after being adopted by the Mandalore.

Tenku'lohi ~ 5/10 Tenku doesn't act like a physical person off the bat, but once she's opened up to somebody she's surprisingly fine with it. She's happy to throw an arm around a friend when out drinking, or to hold and comfort somebody sad. That being said she was trained in ways to disarm, disable, or kill people at close or intimate range; so not all of her easy physical touches are out of good will. People just have to assume (or hope) that she likes them too much to take advantage of that situation. Which can be hard when she doesn't completely trust herself.

Seran / Nox ~ 9/10 Oh, Seran is a monster for cuddles. The little demon loves to lean on or cling to or randomly snuggle up with whoever she's around, friend or not. She was heavily touch starved as a child, and what she did experience was far from pleasant--and yet she still seeks out as much closeness as she can. Her usual cuddle-cuddle victims are Theron and Andronikos, but Talos, Ashara, Vette, Jaesa, and even Xisath are also quick to get snuggled when the chance presents itself.

Rezhek Iaseed ~ 2/10 or 6/10 While she's used to more casual affectionate touches, Rezhek is bad at the soft sorts of physical contact and tends to squirm out of hugs. If she doesn't really, really like somebody then they are literally kept at arm's length. And even those she does like can only get a good cuddle from her if she's sad, trying to comfort them, or has drank too much hard cider. Tivvea barrels through those defenses (much to Rezhek's annoyance) so she ends up getting the most cuddles Rez can "willingly" offer, but she has given a couple of hugs to Corso. But he's like a brother to her, so he gets a pass. With that said, Rezhek is much more snuggly in private with one very special cat man--but only in private!

Miyti ~ 1/10 Hahahahahahahahahahah. No. No. Miyti is down for plenty of physical things with other people, but cuddling is not one of them. That's way too vulnerable. Nope.

Myrus & Xilvah Lor ~ 7/10 I'm putting these two in the same spot 'cause they're the same, and 'cause they're sisters. Xilvah is super comfortable with hugging and cuddling her friends and crewmates (sans Skadge, who doesn't want any) and does so pretty regularly--it even earns some purring, if she's in a good enough mood. Myrus, meanwhile, sees cuddling as an excellent form of bonding and stress relief. Being close to others is a good thing, and showing your trust for somebody with a cuddle is perfectly acceptable. However she's not as likely to purr--she's more reserved than Xilvah in that regard.

Corellan Halcyon - Jedi Knight 2/10 -> 7/10

This one is a bit tricky, since i actually have a huge history laid out for him over the course of the game. At the beginning of the Jedi Knight story, Corellan is definitely a 2, at best. He’s a young, devoted Jedi, and the idea of offering comfort to someone through the act of embracing them was probably foreign to him at that point. He probably hasn’t been hugged (or hugged someone else) since he was a small child; them’s the breaks of being raised by the Order. His experience with Ranna Tao'ven didn’t help, either. By the end of Chapter 1, he is definitely comfortable hugging Kira and T7. (He kind of wishes he could hug Orgus, though he died before that was possible.) Rusk and Scourge aren’t really huggers, and Doc would probably read it wrong. (cough) But by the end of the JK story, he definitely has a short list of people with whom he would be comfortable exchanging a hug, including Leeha Narezz and even Bengel Morr. The KOTFE and KOTET were complicated for him. He became somewhat emotionally withdrawn, largely because Valkorian was lurking in his head, and then later he went through the traumatic experience of the old bastard dying in his head. After that, he felt Kira’s absence keenly, so much so that T7 was basically acting as an emotional support droid. It was only when Kira came back and he started to heal that he realized he was being a jerk and just how much these people (Lana, Theron, Senya, Arcann, Vette, Rusk, etc.) cared about him. After that, he really starts to open up, and he became much more comfortable with displays of physical affection. He’s not great at it; for one think, he’s got washboard abs and one percent body fat, so hugging him is like hugging a brick wall, but the people in his life appreciate it.    

Nasashdia - Imperial Agent 6/10

As part of her training for Imperial Intelligence, Nasashdia was trained to regard physical touching (including “hugging”) as a tool of manipulation. (Ozi is her long-lost brother. They both have childhood issues.) The same is true of flirting. Eventually, during Chapter 2 of the Agent story, she found comfort in Vector’s arms. That gave her the confidence to late give Raina a hug when she was dealing with her father. 

Illaynah Antilles - Trooper 4/10

Illaynah has issues. Her mother died when she was young. Her father was doting one minute and cold the next, as the result of alcoholism. As a result, she’s not much of a hugger. Eventually, she grows comfortable like that with Jorgen and Elara, and when she found Yuun in KOTFE, she unexpectedly hugged him since he was the first of her crew to return. (Since Yuun is even more socially awkward than Illaynah, it was quite a shock.) She started a relationship with Theron, though both have their awkward moments. Post KOTFE, in a private moment, she might exchange a hug with Lana.

Nosrol - Sith Warrior 0/10

Nope, nope, nope. Do not want. Hugging is something that happens incidentally with one’s lover during a kiss or love-play. It does not exist otherwise. Vette tried hugging him once. Nosrol is a terrible monster, but he’s relatively nice to her. It was awkward. Really awkward. He cringed up and then said “Let us never do that again.”

Bas'riish - Smuggler 9/10

Bas'riish LOOOOOVES hugging people, either for sincere reasons or less so reasons. As a child, she learned to pick someone’s pocket with a hug. As an adult, she understands how much a hug can influence some people. (She actually once hugged Corellan, as they are part of the same legacy; it was awkward and made him blush, which just made her chuckle.) With her crew, she’s hugged everyone at least once, though she was wise enough to wait until Akaavi really felt comfortable. Hugging Bowdarr is a delight, hugging Corso makes him flustered, and she is practically sisters with Risha. Guss, however, needs a hug more than anyone, and she obliges.

Ozibaumnu - Sith Inquisitor 1/10

Ozi… has issues with physical contact. This comes from his experience as a slave growing up, and various abuses that he suffered. This really screwed him up empotionally. It wasn’t until he met Ashara and eventually let her into his heart that he found someone he could really be comfortable with that way. He still has issues with touch, but he’s doing better since then.
