Currently reading Zodiac Academy book 5: Cursed Fates, my feeling include:
I hope Darcy finally puts Seth in his place.
Darcy and Orion are cute but they will get caught soon enough.
Justice for Xavier and loving that Catalina is finally free of Dark Coercion.
Lionel, Stella and Clara need to Die.
We need more Max and Geraldine content.
Diego better not betray the Vegas.
Caleb needs to stop trying to get between Darius and Tory because it’s getting annoying.
And lastly
If Darius and Tory don’t end up together by the end of the series then I don’t want it. I have said what I said, Case closed. No spoilers please!

Hi, Fukase anon here! Sorry, It never occurred to me that people may have a hard time coming up with things for characters they don't know a lot about. Sorry :( /gen
Anyways, I really love the clown and red theme ideas! Also, since Vocaloid is technically a music software, I was thinking some music-themed names as well! Also, as long as this isn't too specific, could you maybe do some X-themed things since there's a lot of Xs in his design?
I also like the idea of the darker, edgier themes, but I'd rather not have anything explicitly horror/slasher/demon related... as someone who kins Fukase, being associated with that stuff brings back some rough memories :( /nm
I'm sorry if I'm being too specific or picky or anything like that, and I hope everything I've said makes sense! Once again, thank you in advance :)

💭📝 THOUGHTS:
This whole series is a great concept and I think the authors were extremely smart because I was HOOKED from book one.
The downsides of this series so far have been how long the books are considering the time span in each of them. A lot happens in a short amount of time and the multiple PoVs — although helpful (to really understand the characters) — sometimes made the story a little confusing, and even unnecessary at times.
Now, this series has some of the best characters/relationship developments I’ve ever read.
I want to shoutout some of my favorites:
Seth Capella — the absolute shocker — to me — because I never thought I would grow to love this wolfie boy as much I do and how I’m rooting so hard for him with Bitey C. He’s such a controversial character — specially after the first books — but the way we finally get to see him for who he really is, it’s a total game changer.
Xavier Acrux — I cannot see Xavier as anything other than a little brother and even tho he wasn’t present in the first books he never failed to make me laugh. He’s the clumsiest, most poor timing baby and I came to care so badly for him.
Geraldine Grus — my girl Gerry and her way of speaking is something that I’ll never get tired of reading and laughing along. My heart almost broke in the end of book 7 because I thought we had lost her but to know that she lives it made me truly happy. She is the kind of character that you think will never grow on you but then clings to you like crazy. I love her craziness and her loyalty and how real and humble she is.
Seth/Caleb — tell me why I absolutely hate miscommunication trope but whenever these two come around I just wanna scream. I absolutely love them and I’m always craving their POVs. Although it pisses me off at time I think it is just right for their characters.
Lance/Darcy — talk about a teacher/student relationship! They are honestly so cute together and we all knew they were meant to be together either way but oh my god, not even after being mates the stars made it easier for them! And my heart always breaks for these two.
Gerry/Max — probably the funniest couple/fling ever! Gerry is already a funny character, and then Max is just so soft heart for her and it makes me so happy every time they are together!
Darius/Tory — the ultimate enemies to lovers! But oh no, they are so toxic together! 😂 I still live for all the spice tho, and I felt that with the ending of book 7 things will change even more for them!
The heirs — I was very glad to see the change in all the heirs after the first books once they realized they were all fighting for the same purpose with the twins and not the other way around! Darius was probably the only one who was still too stubborn to see it — even until the end of book 7 — but it made me happy to see the rest of them finally aligning together.
Overall, it is a very addicting series with a lot of things going on at all times. It has the spice, it has a lot of different tropes, and I feel like it is worth giving it a shot!
Prepare yourself for a lot of death, abuse and violence! I feel like this triggers should be taken into consideration before diving into it! ❤️

Heartless Sky
I feel so broken after reading Heartless Sky. I dont know what to do with myself until the next book comes out in December. If I wasn’t reading on my kindle, I definitly would have thrown the book at the wall
SPOILERS:
How do they give us BlueLance as mates and then immediatly rip them apart. I was so happy then it felt like my heart broke in two. And Tory was supposed to have more time with Darius. So much was left in the air and I need answers. What is happening with the heirs and their families? What is going to happen to Lance during the 3 moon cycles that he is held prisioner by Lavinia. Where is Darcy going to be and is she going to be forced to kill more people trapped as the shadow beast. Will Xavier and Geraldine survive their shadow wounds??
I respect both Darius and Lance for all they have sacrificed for our Queens, but it breaks my heart every time.
I am really hoping that somehow they all survive this, but I dont see how that is possible.
I just want a happy ending with the Vegas on the thrones, Lance and Darius at their sides as their King Consorts. Xavier, Caleb, Max and Seth as their counselors working with them. I want all the couples to be together Darcy/Lance, Tory/Darius, Caleb/Seth, Max/Geraldine.

Smosh Quarantine Karaoke- My Reactions
Sarah- Toxic plus Cats. Super fun plus cute cats. Definitely the best way to start
Jacksfilms- Some a capella realness going on there. And it worked! Even if I was kinda singing the YGS version
Matt- Where do I start. Like the song was good but come on, the hair. Just the hair. And the beard. And the eyebrows. I was not ready
Damien- OK so I may have freaked out about how good his cover of Ducktales was. Like I was blown away. I also was so blown away I missed half of gummy bears because I was telling everyone about Ducktales.
Ian- I had not seen Tiger King. And now I think I've seen all I need to
Courtney- OK, no lie. Her voice is incredible. Like give her a musical lead. I don't have any jokes or anything. She was just incredible
Shayne- A very audible "oh no" as soon as we saw the wig, then overwhelming joy over Jolene and then the ending where I was sitting like "Ah. There we go. CFM"
Gus Johnson- That dude has some goddamn talent!!! Now I have never seen Little Shop of Horrors. I might now have to watch it. Plus that long note!!!!! Dude!!!! Speechless
Xavier Woods!!! - The part that surprised Colin (literally wearing a new day top as we speak). Plus Take on Me. Perfection. Just perfection
They need to do this more. It might have just made my quarantine!!

My Thoughts of only reading the first 6 chapters of Zodiac Academy book 6: Fated Throne:
First of All Lionel’s and Tory’s Guardian Bond…. Totally discussed and 100% Puke Worthy
Poor Darius….Poor Darcy
Nice Seth is growing on me
Justice for Tory!
The Kingdom is going to Shit pretty quickly.
This version of Orion is pathetic
Yaya! Xavier finally has some freedom… and Sophia blushing because of him is cute.
Catalina needs to get out ASAP!
Lionel did the other Councilors DIRTY!
Clara is still irritating.
I have said what I said…. No spoilers please. 🤷🏼‍♀️

“Beyond Re-Animator” score by Xavier Capellas
Delightfully creepy score that pays tribute to Richard Brand’s excellent original while striking in fun new directions.  Capellas strikes a nice mix between creepy and fun, making for a nice soundtrack in any horror movie rotation.

Wombwell Rainbow Interviews
I am honoured and privileged that the following writers local, national and international have agreed to be interviewed by me. I gave the writers two options: an emailed list of questions or a more fluid interview via messenger.
The usual ground is covered about motivation, daily routines and work ethic, but some surprises too. Some of these poets you may know, others may be new to you. I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I do.
Michael H. Brownstein
has had his work appear in The Café Review, American Letters and Commentary, Skidrow Penthouse, Xavier Review, Hotel Amerika, Meridian Anthology of Contemporary Poetry, The Pacific Review, Poetrysuperhighway.com and others. In addition, he has nine poetry chapbooks including A Period of Trees (Snark Press, 2004), Firestorm: A Rendering of Torah (Camel Saloon Press, 2012), The Possibility of Sky and Hell: From My Suicide Book (White Knuckle Press, 2013) and The Katy Trail, Mid-Missouri, 100 Degrees Outside and Other Poems (Kind of Hurricane Press, 2013). He is the editor of First Poems from Viet Nam (2011). His book, A Slipknot Into Somewhere Else: A Poet’s Journey To The Borderlands Of Dementia, is published by Cholla Needles Press (2018). He presently resides in Jefferson City, Missouri where he lives with enough animals to open a shelter.
The Interview
1. What inspired you to write poetry?
In elementary school, I began writing silly rhymes for no reason at all—mostly around the holidays, but in high school a Ms. Perkins—my history teacher—encouraged me to write because she liked the way I experimented with the essay form. At one point every sentence in any essay I handed in could not be more than five words. She thought it would be interesting to see if I could write poetry. I did, thought my stuff was OK—it really wasn’t—but I found I actually liked writing—so I kept on and on and now it’s many years later and I’m still writing.
Who introduced you to poetry?
I don’t remember, but I do remember Ms. Perkins and Archie Lieberman who thought I was creative enough with my short stories—in retrospect were not very creative or very good—to write poetry—and he liked my work enough to take them around with him when he was doing high profile photojournalism stories for magazines such as Look, Life, and Playboy. Of course, those editors knew my work was not that good, but I kept on writing mostly for myself until I fell playing hockey in my thirties, found myself in traction and then in bed rest bored out of my mind. That’s when I became serious, started writing better and began sending stuff out. FactSheet 5, (a magazine that listed hundreds and hundreds of zines, journals, and books with simple one to two paragraph reviews) was around back then and I used it as my go to reference to submit work.
How aware were you of the dominating presence of older poets?
I always liked Mary Oliver. Read everything she wrote. Rita Dove is another poet I admire very much. Carolyn Forche because, well, because she’s Carolyn Forche. I always admired Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Robert Louis Stevenson.
What is your daily writing routine?
I write every day for about an hour, usually in the morning, and then come back to poems I wrote earlier in the day, months, even years, and make revisions in the evening.
What motivates you to write?
I feel I have something to offer. Sometimes I write just to write, other times I have a particular audience in mind, other times I feel I have something important to say and so I say it with poetry. I have a series coming out, for example, on the blog of Moristotle (https://moristotle.blogspot.com/), for example on reparations. I wrote it for African-American history month. Here’s a sample stanza:
If we go another thirty miles over, we arrive in Columbia, a lynching–there were more in Missouri, many more– and this one was no different–James Scott was lynched as more than a thousand white bystanders looked on– and he was innocent–the real rapist discovered after the fact– too late again–and no whites paid for the crime– Do we not owe Scott’s family reparations? A sincere apology?
What is your work ethic?
I submit to a publication every other day throughout the year. I never miss a day. I go to two poetry programs to workshop my poetry—and I am the co-host of the local library’s poetry program.
I spend every day with some writing exercise. No exceptions. I also carry around a notebook if an image hits my fancy.
Here’s an image that came to me when I saw the sunlight come out behind gray clouds and light up a field along the highway: We knew each other by the spotlight on wild flowers,
the bath of prairie sage and the colors blue and green,
Later, I turned it into a longer poem utilizing the first line at the beginning of each stanza.
How do the writers you read when you were young influence you today?
I don’t rhyme too often, but when I do I look back to the work of Longfellow. He is still stuck in my mind. I even have one of his volumes in one of my boxes in the attic to this day—along with more than a hundred other poets—but he’s the one I remember.
Who of today’s writers do you admire the most and why?
Safia Elhillo. She writes with a power that is incredible. Her poem “Girls That Never Die” is so brilliant, when I reread it—and I do reread it—I have to take deep breaths because this poem, for example, is that deep.
Martin Espada is another contemporary poet. When he wrote about the hurricane that took out Puerto Rico, you were there. You felt the pain of the people. You became one of them. He has a way with line and image that is just magnificent.
Then there’s June Jordan whose political poetry is made of magic.
Then there’s Carolyn Forche who’s book, Twentieth Century Poetry of Witness, inspired me to write an e-book, Firestorm: A Rendering of Torah (http://booksonblog35.blogspot.com/).
And, of course, Mary Oliver who recently passed away and Rita Dove.
Why do you write, as opposed to doing anything else?
I write because it makes me happy; it’s the most satisfying thing I do now. I used to teach in the inner city of Chicago. That was the most satisfying thing I did. I’m retired now. Writing has taken its place as most satisfying.
What would you say to someone who asked you “How do you become a writer?”
Write. Write what you know. Write what you want to know. Just write.
Put it in a drawer. Take it out days, weeks, even months later and read it again.
Revise. Revise. Revise.
I tell individuals who want to become writers to worry about audience and publication after you have what you feel is a completed work. Even then I invite them to workshop it with one of the groups I am in.
I also tell them it doesn’t hurt to read a lot of poetry.
Tell me about the writing projects you have on at the moment.
I’m working on a book of prose poems and poems, The Tattoo Garden of Capella. So far I’ve revised it twenty times or more, but I keep coming back to it. It’s about a place that is magical and safe, a place full of color and love. At one point, dangerous people enter the garden only to have poetry destroy their weapons.
I’m also hard at work on a prose poem that’s rather long. In it, a poet with writer’s block gets help from a very eccentric man who sounds more like as tuba than a human being:
The odd looking man looked at him as if he had never seen him before—and perhaps he had not—and answered with soft moans, climatic yelps, silence, the sound of a tuba, and then an oomph. Ahh, he said, and then ohh. He paused. The rent is paid up, you know, but a long time ago I lost my way in…

Vestron/Lionsgate releases the second summer film in the Collector's series on July 24th, with everyone's favorite mad scientist, the inimitable Dr. Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs ; The Frighteners) in the final installment of the series, Beyond Re-Animator.
After causing the Miskatonic University Massacre, Dr. Herbert West has been serving a prison sentence for the past 14 years. Far from overcoming his scientific obsession with bringing dead organisms back to life, he has had no choice but to continue his experiments on the only specimens he can find in his cell: rats. When Howard, a new young Doctor, comes to work as the prison MD and requests his assistance, DR. West discovers the young protégé has something he left behind 14 years ago…
The films starts off 14 years earlier when, at the end of the Miskatonic Massacre, Dr. West is arrested for his experiments but not before one of the Zombies kills a young girl. Her brother, Howard Phillips, (you read that correctly) bears witness to her violent end, but also sees the Dr. being cuffed and stuffed into a squad car. He quickly snatches up the Mad Dr.'s last remaining syringe of re-animator formula. Fast forward 14 years, our young man is now Dr. Howard Phillips (Tommy Dean Musset), and he is ready to continue the experiments, where Dr. West left off, of course, he will require the Doctor's assistance, and this is where the shit hits the fan.
Whenever a film has the name Brian Yuzna attached to it, you come to expect certain things to be present, like talking rectums or headless corpses, holding their own head, and performing cunnilingus, or severed penises, kung-fu fighting with a zombie rat, etc. In other words, pure madness, and insanity, which is what you will see when you watch the 3rd and final installment in the Re-Animator series. What I love most about these films, besides the outrageousness of them, is the lack of evolution in the character of Dr. Herbert West. Jeffrey Combs plays his role perfectly and though he borders on scene-chewing he pulls it back just enough to allow the zombies (his victims) to enjoy the feast.
If you can imagine the destruction one zombie can cause in an enclosed space, you can imagine what many of them can do, especially during the madness of a prison riot. There is gore aplenty, in this film as well as the camp you come to expect - severed limbs (and penises… no really!), bodies cut in half, and crawling around, inmates shooting up with re-animator formula, "cats and dogs, living together, mass hysteria".
Some noteworthy performances are in this film, especially from Elsa Pataky, lately of the Fast and Furious films and married to Chris Hemsworth, as journalist Laura Olney, who falls in love with Dr. Phillips. But as you all know, any connection to Dr. West is going to end badly, and this is no exception. Hell ensues and, surely, Dr. West will be the only person to remain unscathed.
As for the stats, Beyond Re-Animator comes with a nifty 1080p hi-def transfer in 16x9, 1.78:1 widescreen, with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio. Vestron/Lionsgate really does an excellent job with their transfers and this is no exception, the dark scenes which, let's face it, is most of the film (especially during the prison riot) look clear and the guts and gore abound in vivid detail.
The audio isn't anything to write home about but does a decent job keeping the dialog clear, and has some decent sound effects, with explosions and gunfire during the action sequences.
This is another solid job in providing some great special features. The audio commentary with Brian Yuzna (he's always fun) is worth your time. I also really enjoy the isolated score selections & Audio Interview with Composer Xavier Capellas. But the standout for me, are the interviews with Jeffrey Combs as well as S.T. Joshi, who provides further insight into Mr. Lovecraft's universe.
It is too bad they couldn't get more funding for another Re-Animator sequel. This is one corpse I would like to see resurrected, again, and again, and again...

About Leonard Buccellato Leonard became obsessed with horror movies at the tender age of 7 when he first saw the movie Blacula (which quickly scared the Hell out of him). From there, all bets were off, from Grizzly and Jaws to The Thing and E.T, his love of movies took on a life of its own. His passion for movies is matched only by his love of writing and literature.
