#Writing the students vs the senseis is great fun tbh

It's Work-in-Progress Wednesday so I'm gonna share a snippet from 'the sensei dispute resolution protocol(s)' - which is nearly at six thousand words somehow and we're not even finished yet (it...may have run away from me a bit). In this one Johnny and Daniel have been arguing again due to Johnny's jealousy over his bond with Miguel, and they're about to activate another of the protocols.

“Hey, Dad,” Sam started one day, as the other students gathered around, “why don’t you and Sensei Lawrence demonstrate the balance wheel?" “Tried it.” Johnny said. “Ended up getting soaked. Twice.” “But have you tried it together?” Demetri asked. “Cos that’s kinda the whole point – that’s what we’ve done before.” That was true, and they’d been using the wheel a lot more recently – always, he noticed, with one student from each dojo, which he knew was them making a point. “You’re all pretty skilled at it already.” Daniel pointed out, frowning. “You don’t really need us to—” “But Sensei,” Miguel asked, eyes wide in apparent confusion, “how are we supposed to implement the lessons if our Senseis won’t do the same?” Oh, that was a good one. Little shit.

Also this story is not going to end how I planned it to end (and there's a lot more feels than I intended too because apparently these guys have a lot to say...)
