I've got a few problems with how they're rearranging the top championships in WWE.
The promotion clearly doesn't know what they're doing with Roman Reigns's titles. Even now that Roman has one new belt that says "undisputed champion" on it, the website still lists him as a double champ. If they deactivate the 2016 title, it snaps Roman's 1000+ day stat, but if they drop the 1963 title, they sever the 60-year history of WWE's most prestigious accolade. The simplest solution is to wait and retire the universal title after Roman gets beat, but since that's not happening any time soon it's getting increasingly awkward.
Roman has built up so much clout around his (double) championship that the new Raw world title comes across like he ordered it off of Wish. It might have helped if they claimed the Raw belt was a reactivation of the 2002-2013 world title. (Even though that title was unified into the 1963 WWE title, which was then unified into whatever Roman has now.) But, WWE has to WWE, so the official title history treats Seth Rollins as the first "World Heavyweight Champion." Everybody who held the 2002 world title is now listed under "World Heavyweight Title." WTF?
I guess this is sort of like when they strike the "WWE" from a title's name when it's retired to avoid confusion when they create a new title with the same name. Except in this case the 2002 world championship never had the WWE branding in the first place, to distinguish it from the 1963 title. This never made any sense and got very confusing, so I'm just thrilled they've brought that back and made it worse.
I would normally be in favor of renaming the top women's titles to reflect the top men's titles, if only the top men's titles weren't such a clusterfuck. As it is, each gender has a WWE championship (which is a world championship but not the world championship) and a world championship (which is a WWE championship but not the WWE championship).
If I had my druthers, Roman and Asuka would be WWE world champions, representing the lineages of Sammartino and Moolah; and Seth and Rhea Ripley would be WWE universal champions, with the lineages of the belts they introduced in 2016. All four belts get "WWE" in the name and adjectives that clearly distinguish them from one another. They probably could have just done this except that they just couldn't bring themselves to take the universal belt off of Roman, so all the wackiness goes back to that decision.

I can't get over Christian hitting the spear on Nigel. The one guy on commentary constantly hyping him up, defending every horrible thing he does, and Christian takes him out at the first chance he gets for literally no reason. It's so mean that it's hilarious, it's so great. It's incredible commitment to being a horrible person, and that kind of villainy is what I love about the dude.

Not a fan of WWE bringing back the world heavyweight title...or at least, I assume it's supposed to be the 2002-2014 championship.
The name of the prize always bugged me since it was primarily distinguished by not using the WWE branding. It's not the WWE world heavyweight championship, it's just The World Heavyweight Championship. Except it's really just a world heavyweight championship, since WWE has had three of them. Also, one of Roman's two belts literally says "world heavyweight champion" on it, but it's not the one we're talking about. Confused yet?

The new belt looks kinda neat, but that's mainly because all the gold is a change of pace from the four "giant W" belts. Once you get over that, it's not an improvement on the original Big Gold Belt design. I don't blame WWE for wanting to modernize that design to emphasize their logo. But this looks like a fan slapped it together it in the creator mode of a video game.
I gather that the new belt is meant to "solve" the "problem" that WWE only has one top champion on its two major brands. But that problem is manufactured--WWE clearly already has two world title belts, and nobody forced the promotion to put them both on Roman Reigns. The only reason he needs both of those belts at the same time is because WWE likes the aura of him holding all the marbles. But that aura collapses when you introduce a shiny new marble. If he pursues it we're right back where we started, and if he ignores it you've killed the credibility of the third belt right out of the gate.

Yeah, I once listened to an interview with the guy who makes belts for WWE, and that's how he explained it. He made it sound like WWE orders in bulk, so they probably have at least a dozen copies of any particular belt at any given time.
I doubt it's like that in every promotion, but after Jericho almost lost his title belt in 2019 I gotta think AEW made sure they have a spare of each design.
Ok for anyone wondering about the belt being there... I heard once (in wwe) they have back up belts. They have the one kept nice just for photo shoots, the one the champ keeps with them at all times, and an extra one the promotion brings with just in case and another at headquarters. Maybe more. I bet you anything it's the same for AEW.
