todays glennder post is specifically abt transfem Glenn , so buckle the fuck up <333 SO I've mentioned before that my person hc is that Glenn was transfem from when she was abouutttt 15-16 ish until Morgan's death p much . She was always sort of gnc before that , being a teen boy who's kinda emo/punk/alt with an absent father will do that to ya . I think for a while he didn't really think it was anything and it was totally normal and not a gender thing when he liked his hair long or his nails painted or a bit of makeup on here and there, he was just a rebellious teen who wanted to look cool . but then I think he started identifying as a demi boy at first, like yeah I'm not cis , but I'm still a guy , right ? (wrong) through their teenage years it slowly morphs into just they/them , not minding he/him , it just wasn't what they used most often . then he meets Morgan . Morgan , known lesbian . at first glenns like yeah wowie were such good friends , plus even if I liked her I'm a guy , a manly man , id have no chance , even if she is so so hot .. but they're like . besties for a few years , and at one point Morgan brings up the idea of crossdressing when they're probably in their early 20s. she mentions she thinks it'd be fun to try a sort of drag-king vibe , and glenns like haha yeah I could be your matching drag queen and Morgan's like 👁️👁️ so they go out to find outfits . Glenn finds some fun black leather dress or smthin like that and puts it on and comes out absolutely grinning . she doesn't think this is a performance , it feels too real . meanwhile Morgan is sitting there's like holy shit that is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen . both of them are seeing *Glenn* for the first time and she's beautifully herself . after that Morgan and Glenn go to a lot of dress/skirt shops . I think Glenn does really like the sort of drag vibe to her femininity though . she just loves the exaggerated makeup and the eccentric outfits and the ridiculously tall heels , and Morgan just thinks she's hot as hell <3 after a bit Glenn goes on estrogen bcs she can and life is good for a while between Glenn and Morgan . I think they do drag together super often , Glenn for the most part just glams herself up , bcs we love a transfem drag queen <3 and Morgan prefers to do more masc drag , and they like to correlate their outfits to match whenever they do it and it's just v sweet <3 I think though , (and I believe I've mentioned this in previous glennder rambles) that as Nick comes along and Glenn is given more responsibility he kinda starts regressing back in his gender journey . Glenn gets kinda ... burnt out . to the point that putting effort into his gender presentation isn't worth it anymore . when they first have Nick she starts using she/they . her and Morgan stop doing drag as often . as Nick grew up it morphed into just they/them , and Glenn didn't want to try to come up with a parent word for themself so they were still "dad". when Morgan died Glenn stopped presenting female completely . to him , he didn't have the time anymore to be worried about that kind of thing , and it was easier to just ... be a guy again . it also had to do with the fact that any of his feminity just reminded him of Morgan bcs he had been with her the whole time , so he couldn't dress up like he used to because every time he tried to dress up he would be turning around expecting to see Morgan's smiling face with her own outfit on , ready to tell her how pretty she looked all dolled up . and then she wasn't there . and that hurt . and as Glenn does , if it causes any kind of negative emotional reaction at all it's better to just shove it into a closet and pretend it doesn't exist , and that's what he does with his silly goofy transed gender . he does still stay on estrogen though , I think . bcs it's the one thing that he's just gotten used to and it would be more difficult to suddenly stop than it is to just keep doing it . he tells himself it's because he doesn't like change . and that's part of it , but y'know . she's still there .

anyways this got kinda longer than I thought it would but I'm so insane about transfem Glenn literally thinking about her constantly , she's my babygirl , my malewife , my girlhusband , my silly rabbit , I love her sm <3

Is the hornbill a bird? It probably is but I have a terrible memory and I’m dumb so. I skipped the last few weeks because I’m scawwed. How are you liking it? I did see someone say that the hornbill makes sense (without knowing what it is...at all) bc heart transplant patients only live like 5-15 years after but someone in those comments pointed out that he was so young when he got his and that’s pretty rare so he has a higher likelihood of survival. you make a really excellent point. i think the young young gen zers are really really just interesting because it’s like this whole new world for them with leftist politics and they just can’t grasp the horrors of the world and the kind of freedom being a leftist can bring. and so many people don’t grow out of it. those people so happen to be the “least productive” in terms of how much time they spend IRL withe these issues. naturally, younger kids are gonna have a harder time. they are not as mobile as well so the internet becomes this place. but then it’s this echo chamber. and many times just things posted without sources. and social media NEEDS that to exist.

jk also theres just different personalities. you and  i mesh more bc we have a lot of the same beliefs and are coming from the same place. that makes it easier to understand as well. i really try to remember that but some people are really weird so. again just...the perception of certain things even down to acting skills. but i also dont like.......believe this genre can really do anything at all. on one hand i want them to do it right bc it’s a piece of work so they should. be proud of it. cos most things arent advancing us bc representation and culturalism are a lie bla bla. it’s just that when the depictions are negative or not done well it adds to the problem as opposed to the things that are well done are fairly benign and can’t really pull us back (perf example is the black panther film. i woudl definitely not say it was transgressive as a literal work but visually it’s just stunning. and it’s sad that it’s stunning and surprising but still with basically an all black cast of mostly dark people abd like what it means in the zeitgeist yes. it’s also just a good movie. but it’s still imperialist prop and unfortunately and this is fucking pathetic to say it “opened eyes” in other countries where they hate black ppl and ignore their own racialized minorities HENNYWAYSSSS a better ex is moonlight except moonlight isnt mainstream and is indie tho...still thru a funnel of capital bc a24 but who cares bleed the fuckers dry is my motto. my point is moonlight is both a great work and doesnt bring any failures to the table and its existence helps in ways outside of art but they arent the defining things giving us material advancement sooooo i mean it’s complex (this is my conclusion to everything um guys it’s complex)

I promised I would do one of these about a month ago, so here it is. I wrote it up on the plane back home, so I apologize for any weird sentences or grammar. I’m still a little brain dead tbh. :P

Do Kyungsoo: Soo is so tiny?? Photos and videos do not do justice to how petite this boy really is. And somehow, despite his size, he is so incredibly intense. I caught him gazing at the other boys several times and his eyes always clearly show how adoring and proud of them he is. It really makes sense that he’s making a name for himself within the acting world, because his very persona lends well to expressing emotion in an easy-to-read way. Also, he’s such an angel at heart. He was very smiley and appreciative to the fans while also being very adorable and playful with the other boys during the encore. The stereotype that he’s cold-hearted is completely and utterly false, and I feel as if it would take a lot for him to feel any genuine ill-will towards another human being. I would also like the record to state that his voice is even more heavenly in real life than it is in videos, which seems very impossible, I know.

Kim Junmyeon: Suho is sorely under-appreciated by the fandom on a whole considering how absolutely precious and kind-hearted he is. The fact that he made an effort to learn English so that he could speak to us personally and without a translator was very heartfelt. I could tell that it wasn’t him just learning specific lines to repeat later either, because he was thinking about how to say what he wanted quite often. In the end, I would say that about 80% of his ments were in English, and I was so proud of him for all of that effort that wasn’t even necessary. Park Chanyeol: People are not joking when they say he is a child stuck in an adult’s body. He was always very playful with other members and people in the crowd, to the point that he seems a bit zany for it (but totally in the best of ways). I believe it was during Growl when he was on the right side of the main stage and waved very enthusiastically to a little kid sitting in the very first seat of the first row, and it was one of the most adorable things I’ve ever witnessed. That, along with the fact that he was always actively scanning the pit to try and single out his stans and energetically acknowledge them, really proves to me that he lives and breathes a happiness that is beyond contagious. It really is impossible to look at him and not have a giant smile on your face. He was even super happy-looking during the really sensual choreos, like artificial love, and if that ain’t chanyeol’s brand, then idk what is. (I also think that his rapping voice should be illegal because it penetrated the crowd so resoundingly and made me breathless, but ya know.)

He was very into all the choreography-heavy songs, and brought the appropriate energy to each. I swear he knows what that does to us and continues to do it for that sole reason. Don’t get me started on all the adorableness that was his reaction to us singing happy birthday during his last ment, either. He kept thanking us and smiling largely and did this really cute thing where he went “bang bang!” over and over while shooting us finger guns. He’s extra in all the right ways, and I feel as if you have to be a very forward and big-personality type of person in order to stan him and match his beautiful craziness. (He also waved enthusiastically to the same child Chanyeol did, if you needed more proof to how large his precious heart is.)

Kim Minseok: Is this boy on some kind of drug? I’m honestly really curious, because I don’t know how one person is capable of having so much energy, let alone someone who is as old as he is. Anytime my eyes caught him, he was either 1) dancing really passionately (why does no one consider him to be a part of the dance line when he clearly has the skill and execution down pat?), 2) shooting the crowd so much aegyo that I felt my teeth rotting in my head (he’s a precious bub is what he is; a Mexican EXO-L nicknamed him a tiny bowl of soup and I think that’s the cutest and most accurate thing ever), or 3) singing as if it was his last day on this earth and that he had to make this performance count (wowie his voice is crystal clear live, I was so blessed). For how shy and introverted he seems to be as a person, he’s truly outgoing on stage, and I hope he knows how much we truly appreciate him giving us 110% the entire time. He was born to do this and you can really tell he loves being the idol he is.

Oh Sehun: I know now why he’s as sassy as he is: he loves the validation it brings. I don’t mean this in a bad way whatsoever; he just genuinely enjoys being in the spotlight and having peoples’ attention. He feeds off of it and converts that into giving really compelling and composed performances. I’ve always loved his dancing style the best because it’s very sharp while remaining graceful, and seeing that live has proved to me that his dancing is literally just his personality personified. Maybe that’s some kind of sign of the progress he’s made as a person too, because in early debut days, he always gave me the impression that he was a bit reserved while always having that potential to be friendly and receptive of others. In my mind, his effervescent stage presence is his way to pay back all the fans who love him whole-heartedly, and that’s really beautiful to witness.

Kim Jongin: Whereas Minseok’s passion felt hard, Jongin’s is a bit softer. He somehow manages to squeeze a lot of energy for performing into minimalistic gestures and seemingly effortless dancing and singing. It’s no wonder people easily swoon over him, because he really does feel gentle as a whole (yes, even through all those really rude smirks and intense eyes he gives the camera). I think it’s that sleepiness kind of vibe that just seems to follow him wherever he goes. Obviously he has his really bright moments, especially when he gives his really derpy laugh-smile, but it’s never overwhelmingly in your face. I even remember hearing him sing and thinking he has the kind of voice that would be perfect for putting someone peacefully to sleep at night, because he has a presence that settles comfortably under your skin and makes you feel warm.

Kim Jongdae: Boy let me tell you his falsettos are something people could write poetry about. They’re so breathtakingly gorgeous to hear live, and it’s hard to describe just how beautifully ringing his voice is. I was really pleasantly surprised by how well his voice fit into the songs as a whole too, because I always had this impression that his loud personality can potentially be over-shadowing. But I think his kindness allows him to know when to reign himself in, and that’s really refreshing to witness. Don’t think that he filters himself in any way, though. He’s as bright as you see him in videos and laughs loudly and smiles largely and never hides himself away. I just think he has it engrained in himself to also be compassionate and to give the spotlight to others when he feels they deserve it (like can we talk about that adorable suchen moment during Love, Love, Love when he framed suho’s face with his hand while it was his turn to sing?).
