- There's an early villain whose super angry and can transform into a winged monster. They're later overshadowed by more powerful entities.

- The alpha kids. A teenage freind group going through the horrifying circumstances in a way that makes their deeply dysfunctional relationship worse.

the first time I read worm, I knew that skitter was going to shoot a child, but I didn't know which child.

so the whole time she was trying to save dinah, I kept thinking like "okay she's going to realize she can't save her, so she'll shoot her to put her out of her misery. this is going to be a difficult choice and a defining moment of skitters character for the rest of the book".

but then that just never happened. and then she killed aster? who gives a shit about aster? not skitter and not me.

I need to reread Ward properly because I just reread one chapter that just casually and incidentally established that Sabah is a well-respected regular at a BDSM club. Anyway I neeeeed to know your feelings on the matter

I wish Sabah had been the protagonist of Ward tbh. I really want to know more about Miss Treat's. It's specifically a cape BDSM club/cafe, which is a fascinating concept. Sabah is not just well-respected there, but has fans, which could be fans of her fashion designs I suppose, but I figure probably they have demo nights and shows that she participates in? That's based on my experience with the local BDSM bar, which is a bit of a different vibe to a cafe, but it's the closest reference point I have. Anyway, I figure it's kinky puppet shows, or telekinetic bondage demos, or something like that that people are fans of.

Also, there are people there she avoids, which is interesting. Maybe just people she doesn't like particularly? But maybe there's a more interesting story behind that.

I think it's really interesting that it's specifically Parian, not Parian and Foil, who's mentioned as being a regular. I figure either a) it's not really Lily's thing, or (more fun) b) she goes out of costume, and just acts like Parian's #1 fan.
