As a kid my dad gave me three options of what I could be when I grow up. Here’s how that went.

Me: hmm. I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.

Dad: You can be so many things. A doctor, a lawyer or an accountant. Pick one.

Me: I guess an accountant will do?

After 5 years as a teen..

Me: You know I love art.

Dad: Don’t say it. Don’t say it.

Me: I want to become an interior designer.

Dad: what’s that?

Me: someone who designs rooms.

Dad: Anyone can do that!

Me: So why aren’t you getting paid £55k a year?
