Winnetka Music Festival: 6/16-6/17
Alejandro Escovedo
BY JORDAN MAINZER
Unlike summer street festivals in other “affluent” Chicago suburbs--Alejandro Escovedo’s words, not mine--the Winnetka Music Festival chooses established and up-and-coming independent, original artists in favor of the usual rotation of the same five cover acts.
The Wallflowers
Friday night, the headliner was a band that unexpectedly signed with New West two years ago: none other than The Wallflowers, the long-running project of singer-songwriter Jakob Dylan. Yes, they played the major songs from beloved major label sophomore record Bringing Down the Horse: the eternal “One Headlight”, the Adam Duritz-featuring “6th Avenue Heartache”, the “Sweet Jane”-riffed “Three Marlenas”, blasted jam “The Difference”, and Southern rocker “God Don’t Make Lonely Girls”. Though the aforementioned Counting Crow was nowhere to be found, the rest of the band brought down the horse house. Ben Peeler’s shimmery steel guitars shined alongside the churchy keys of the band’s biggest hits. If Dylan’s voice was raspy and understated, the instrumentation delivered the emotional punches, especially on songs from their latest Exit Wounds like “Roots and Wings”, where Dylan reflects on where he came from and what’s allowed him to move beyond. And the encore contained two covers of songs by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers; considering Dylan’s father played in a band with the late, great Petty, it (perhaps unfairly) feels like The Wallflowers covering Petty is more appropriate than a version from any other Americana band. They were certainly crowd pleasers. After a speech about the paradox of rules are meant to be broken,” Dylan proclaimed one mantra he’s learned to follow: “If you got a good thing, keep it going.” I can’t think of a better phrase to sum up everything about The Wallflowers, from that one set to their entire career.
The Dip
Proceeding The Wallflowers on the same stage was another singalong-friendly band, Seattle R&B/funk septet The Dip. Yes, they were masters of style and tempo. Jacob Lundgren’s prickly guitars propelled the existential “Crickets”. Mark Hunter’s bass and Jarred Katz’ drums buoyed the strut of “She Gave Me The Keys”. The fluttery horn section--trumpeter Brendan Carter, tenor saxophonist Levi Gillis, and baritone saxophonist Evan Smith--were given ample space to solo and meander through the extended jams of “She Gave Me The Keys” and “Sure Don’t Miss You”. Throughout, Tom Eddy’s soulful lead vocals and charismatic banter and context helped make a decidedly retro band sound fresh and contemporary.
Escovedo
If there was an outlier in not just the bands I saw but the whole festival, it was Alejandro Escovedo. He admitted it, noticing that unlike The Wallflowers and that night’s main headliner, Michael Franti & Spearhead, “We don’t get you movin’ and dancing.” The band took their time to sort through some sound issues and eased into their set, beginning with the languid “Wave” and echoing “Sometimes”, respective showcases for synthesizer/keyboard player Scott Danbom and drummer Mark Henne. Eventually, Escovedo and company became energized, laying down power pop burner “Break This Time” and Escovedo’s two most popular tunes, Chuck Prophet co-write (and dedicated to the hurting Jesse Malin) “Always a Friend” and “Castanets”. But it was the tunes in between that stood out. Escovedo introduced “Dearhead on the Wall” as “a song about taxidermy and Buddhism”; as he’s aged, the way his voice trembles on his more contemplative tunes is almost gothic in character, effective even if not purposeful. He muffled his vocals on “Sally Was a Cop” and “Teenage Luggage”; non-fans, town locals, and passersby likely didn’t expect to hear the words, “America's a blood-stain in a honky-tonk kill” emanating from the stage as if through a megaphone. Then again, with a discography like Escovedo’s, nobody knew what to expect, and he delivered a masterfully taut collection of his finest songwriting, leaving the band the opportunity to straight up choogle.
So, yes, the Winnetka Music Festival, which is presented in collaboration with SPACE in Evanston, is not your average Chicago suburban street festival, and certainly not one I would have expected even 10 years ago, let alone growing up on the North Shore of Chicago.

‘ethereal folk-rock’
The risk in revealing: 2023 Grammy winner Madison Cunningham comes to Northampton 04-11-2024
Madison Cunningham performs at the Winnetka Music Festival in Winnetka, Illinois in June 2023. More often than not, Cunningham plays electric guitar rather than acoustic.
"One “mystery,” so to speak, will be at her Academy show, where she’ll be appearing with another singer-songwriter, Juana Molina, an Argentine guitarist who also plays in open tunings and unusual time signatures and in general takes an unconventional approach to the guitar."

For detailed descriptions of ticket options, please visit: www.beachlifefestival.com/ticket-types BeachLife was co-founded by local Allen Sanford and Rob Lissner, along with support from Partner and SpeakEasy Stage curator Jim Lindberg (Pennywise / solo artist / author) as an alternative offering to the typical festival with high level attention to food and beverage, curation, and detail. “It’s surreal to our family that BeachLife continues to grow in the music and surf community, and we are so excited to release this lineup — what we believe is a perfect curation to a weekend at the beach,” Sanford shares. “These artists, along with our beautiful Pacific Ocean as the backdrop, and the sand and salt in our face, will make for another unforgettable weekend at BeachLife. Throw your boardshorts or sundresses on and join us!” BeachLife will feature music performances on four stages: HighTide Stage, LowTide Stage, RipTide Stage and the SpeakEasy Stage. While the first three stages are standard festival-produced stages on the waterfront, the SpeakEasy Stage is curated by Pennywise frontman Jim Lindberg and provides intimate and stripped-down acoustic performances from an eclectic array of artists from the rock, singer/songwriter, surf, punk, and reggae rock genres. And while music takes center stage at BeachLife Festival, The Daou SideStage Experience provides foodies the opportunity to be seated onstage (literally) and served a four-course meal by celebrity chefs while their favorite musicians perform. Hailed as the “best restaurant in the South Bay” by the Orange County Register, The Daou SideStage Experience is the first culinary opportunity of its kind, located on the main stage and serviced by a team of award-winning chefs that curate their menus alongside the artists curating their set lists. This is truly a “one-of-a-kind” rock star dining experience. In addition to this 5-star dining experience, BeachLife will offer various food and beverage options including a massive craft beer bar with local LA breweries, and multiple bars, lounges, food vendors, and food trucks across the venue with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options available, accessible to all festival goers. Philanthropy and community are ever important to BeachLife Festival. BeachLife supports many organizations in Southern California’s South Bay community and beyond, specifically as they relate to the preservation of beaches and oceans. With the help of the LA Kings Care Foundation and a number of national and local nonprofit organizations, BeachLife will host events and onsite activations to drive awareness to and help to raise much needed funding for these important causes. Philanthropic partners for 2023 include Surfrider, Heal The Bay, Wyland Foundation, Redondo Beach Education Foundation and Redondo Beach Police Foundation. BeachLife also supports The Rob Machado Foundation and its dedication to the environment through the BYOB program. Dubbed “the little festival that could” by Forbes, BeachLife expanded in September 2022 with the inaugural BeachLife Ranch, the only major Country & Americana festival on the beach in Southern California. While different than the surf and skate beach culture, the vibe and rapture are the same: love and respect for the outdoors, nature, friends and community. Here’s what’s been said about BeachLife Festival: “…BeachLife presents a great mix of current alternative and rock and unapologetic nostalgia. Additionally, you cannot beat the beach location, which is literally on the world famous Southern California beaches. And the food and drink, especially in the VIP, were excellent…” – Forbes “A comfortable boutique festival experience right on the Los Angeles beach” – Pollstar “Can’t-miss destination event” – Relix “A great weekend filled with musical light in a wide variety of sonic flavors, making BeachLife a clear hit…” – Pop Matters BeachLife Festival partners include: Subaru Pacific, Kinecta, Body Glove, DAOU Family Estates, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Flying Embers Organic Hard Kombucha, LaLuca Prosecco and more to be announced. BeachLife Festival is located at 137 N. Harbor Drive, Redondo Beach, CA 90277. Read the full article

Two More Acts Confirmed for Have Yourself a Merry Indie Christmas
Manchester's Thom Stone released a festive album Christmas at the End of the World in 2020. Once again, Christmas Underground has the goods on the best Christmas songs -
‘Thom Stone has been featured here on Christmas Underground before under his previous nom de plume, Young War, who were fantastic (you can still buy their records! Buy them!). This time around, Thom is recording under his own name, and has more than doubled his previous holiday catalogue in one shot. Having always wanted to write a Christmas record, Thom took the second lockdown in November and decided to make something positive out of it. So, he gathered one microphone, one guitar and some sleigh bells stolen from his two-year old’s music set and created Christmas at the End of the World. The album features eight songs, all of which blend the uncertainty and creeping optimism that so many of us are feeling right now. On “Merry Christmas (What a Hell of a Year),” Thom looks at our world running at 1/4 speed, and instead of focusing on the obvious crisis, finds reasons to be sincerely thankful and embraces the spirit of Christmas and a hope for change. I could write about every single song on this record – the gorgeous sentiment of “Could It Be Christmastime,” the apocalyptic beauty of “Christmas at the End of the World,” the mantra of “Noel, noel, go ring the bell / I see the snow on the leaves” in “Snow on the Leaves,” as each song is deserving of appreciation. All proceeds from this record go to the Manchester Cares charity, a community network bringing younger and older neighbours together to tackle isolation and loneliness. If that isn’t something we all can relate to after this year’.

Thom Stone’s contribution to Have Yourself a Merry Indie Christmas.
When twitchels, aka power pop architect Gareth Leggeat and co, were asked by their friends at Nottingham based DIY label Winnetka Records to produce a Christmas song, they chose to honour their favourite festive song by the mighty Low. With some affectionate swipes at a number of familiar Yuletide favourites, “Ode to Just Like Christmas” chronicles a lifetime of sometimes tolerating, but otherwise actively avoiding the annual torrent of Christmas standards that are inflicted on the world every year, seeking solace in the timeless Low classic from 1999.

Twitchels are currently working on the follow up to their 2021 mini-LP, ‘It’ll be alright (in the end)’ which is available on Bandcamp at twitchels.bandcamp.com

RAC 'BOY'
Picture this: it is mid-June, and you are ready to stick your teeth into festival season. Friday morning; you and your mates have just woken up at your Airbnb; you overslept so breakfast is hasty (depending on country: a pop into Greggs, or Wendy’s). 10:30am. You have all congregated in your absurd festival attire. Applying the finishing touches (stars, glitter, etc.) you get your group pictures for your socials. You don’t even need to go to the festival at this point, you have enough proof. As you all squeeze in the car and clamour over the AUX cord, you decide on something you can all enjoy. Now. You are sad because it is 2020 and obviously none of this can happen. It is the worst feeling. However, there is one album primed to lift your spirits this summer, and it is courtesy of RAC. ‘BOY’ is the third solo album from André Allen Anjos, the Portuguese-American producer best known as RAC. Having built a following for his spirited remixes for artists like The Shins, Phoenix and Lana Del Rey, his transformation to a solo artist has been fruitful. Anjos has produced one album every three years since 2014, and ‘BOY’ is a highlight: a wide-ranging, yet focused record that many can, and will, enjoy. It is tinged in sun, community and guitar licks. ‘BOY’ perfectly embodies that intoxicating youthful promise of hope, rejection and intrigue. Speaking of the process behind his latest project, Anjos commented: “I was just writing and writing and writing. I wrote so many demos, and I kept coming back to this theme of childhood.” The complexity of the world through the eyes of The Youth is a common fixture across ‘BOY’. On ‘Sweater’, Maddie Jay dreamily sings of her lover: “It‘s been a while since someone else’s jokes have made me smile” opens the song. With its cooed chorus and breezy arrangement, it is a ridiculously sweet track. ‘Oakland’ finds Winnetka Bowling League singing about the need to move on to somewhere else on an equally bouncy beat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDc0S74IEz0 One of ‘BOY’’s biggest achievements is naturally encapsulating the perspective of a young person in 2020. As Anjos is 35, his teenage days are long behind him but ‘BOY’ is a body of work that can pass off as youthful. Lyrics like “Slim into some DM’s” and “They’ve all got their juul pods” appear on the album’s first proper track ‘Boomerang’. Lead single ‘Stuck on You’ features the line “I muted your ‘gram.” The bridge to ‘MIA’ goes: “Ever since you went MIA, I’ve been stuck in my bed all day, staring at my telephone screen, waiting for an SMS in your name.” You would not think at first glance this is music from someone 13 years into their career. It is only further helped by how entertaining these songs are. The former is a relatively low-key start. It is delightfully delicate; guitar flicks and carefully harmonised words create a sense of despondency above the pretty melody. ‘MIA’ is similarly despondent albeit very chirpy. Already geared for TikTok dominance with its overly performative vocals (“The fuck did I do?”), it is a really well fleshed out number. As for the aforementioned lead single, it is indeed a great single. Another sincere and heartfelt number, it is perfect to drive with the top down, after lockdown. RAC’s USP of guitar-inflected bops is what ties this project together. With a smattering of collaborators, his distinct sound anchors the narrative. ‘Next To You’, one of the album’s lesser moments, is spearheaded by a dominant riff. Emerson Leif’s feature is commendable, if only for having a more confrontational tone compared to the plethora of hushed dulcet voices. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csKxedk-KpA However a stand-out is ‘Passion’. Here, RAC works alongside Louis the Child, an electronic duo that have used the template of guitar-led EDM hits RAC laid out and taken it further. Together the two artists have chemistry in spades. With a chorus tempting you to join in (“Passion”, “Expression”, are stretched out, teasing a sing-along), it is a future festival favourite. With a daunting eighteen songs, you might be deterred from completion. However the final stretch picks it up. ‘Get A Life’ is so stupidly catchy. Instupendo softly moans over the dumbest of fun melodies whereas ‘Change the Story’ finds British neo-soul hero bringing his natural infectious energy into an organic bop. That is not to say this album is smooth sailing. As previously mentioned, eighteen songs is no walk in the park. Despite clocking in at forty-seven minutes (RAC’s shortest to date), there are eighteen tracks and not all of them can be winners. ‘Carefree’ is a shot in the foot; a song of such little interest that the terms ‘carefree’ and ‘thoughtless’ are interchangeable. Four of the eighteen are instrumental interludes which breeze by without notice. Stripping those away would tighten the record up and, at fourteen songs, would seem far more digestible. Saving one of the best to last, however, is ‘Better Days’. The third collaboration between RAC and St. Lucia, it is a cosy closer. Cinematic and nostalgic, it is a gorgeous slow-burner: school discos would be so lucky to employ this. Sure, this year is a festival-free nightmare but that does not mean you cannot pretend. RAC’s third record is his strongest so far; a relevant, slick sound with a kindred spirit. With some of his best writing and ever-improving production, it is a step in the right direction. ‘BOY’ might just make you nostalgic for something you never had. 'BOY' by RAC is out now via Counter Records

Hoffmann Commercial Real Estate Adds to Holdings in Downtown Clayton, Missouri
Clayton, MO/ December 28, 2017 (STLRealEstate.News) –Hoffmann Commercial Real Estate is expanding its portfolio of properties in downtown Clayton, Missouri with the purchase of the Park Place office building. The acquisition joins the Business Bank Tower and the Wydown Building as major Clayton sites owned by Hoffmann.
Park Place, located at 100 South Brentwood Blvd., is a 73,000 sf Class A office complex that counts Moneta Group among its primary tenants. Adjacent to beautiful Shaw Park, Park Place sits at the hub of Clayton’s bustling and evolving business district. Hoffmann is enthusiastic about the potential for the area to grow with diverse offerings in retail, entertainment, and residential uses alongside established office properties.
“Clayton is in an exciting period of re-invention, and our company plans to participate fully in its growth,” notes CEO Greg Hoffmann. “Downtown is transforming from a 9-to-5 corporate district to an engaging destination for shopping, socializing and recreation, including the recent upgrades to Shaw Park. We have extensive experience in supporting community-wide enhancements that benefit our tenants, neighbors, and visitors.”
Hoffmann’s business model invests in existing commercial properties, improving entire districts to create a consistently welcoming visitor experience. Hoffmann acquisitions in Winnetka, IL, Naples, FL, and Avon/Beaver Creek, CO, have led the way to widespread improvements in each of those downtown areas. Outdoor music festivals, public sculpture walks, and façade updates are among the steps taken by the company to attract foot traffic and support tenants.

Live Picks: 6/15-6/17
Self Defense Family
BY JORDAN MAINZER
This weekend sees Taste of Randolph, an unexpectedly good booking at Winnetka Music Festival, and as usual, lots of good club and outdoor theater shows.
6/15: Bitchin Bajas, Hungry Brain
We’re big fans of local experimental heroes Bitchin Bajas here at SILY. They’ve given great, organ, synth, guitar, and woodwind-heavy sets at Pitchfork Music Festival and the MCA, and their most recent album Bajas Fresh was one of our favorites of last year. They’re on quite the streak, their self-titled record and collaboration with Bonnie “Prince” Billy preceding Bajas Fresh, cementing the band as one of the most forward-thinking in the country, let alone Chicago. They continue to do their thing at Hungry Brain tonight.
Local guitarist/synth master Sam Wagster opens.
6/15: Kendrick Lamar, SZA, ScHoolboyQ, & Ab-Soul, Hollywood Casino Ampitheatre
To Pimp a Butterfly. Untitled Unmastered. DAMN. Besides Young Thug, Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar (ed. note: It feels so good to type that) is the only person to appear on all of SILY’s year-end lists. That says more about Lamar being prolific than anything else, not to take away from the quality of his art. In addition to being a master storyteller, he’s the best live performer in hip hop today. To see him alone is essential. To see him along with his fellow TDE label-mates is perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
SZA, one of the best breakouts of last year, occupied our #17 spot with CTRL. Contributor Lauren Lederman described it as “an album that explores the electricity, the beauty, the messiness, and the self-consciousness of present-day relationships” as well as “a close examination of modern sex and romance that doesn’t hold back.” Judging solely from her Grammy performance, she should have the vocal chops to bring a headline-worthy performance, permanent damage aside.
Blank Face LP, the fourth album from ScHoolboyQ, was his best. It didn’t have any obvious standouts like “Hands on the Wheel”, one of the best rap songs of the decade (though the Kanye West-featuring “That Part” comes close). But it was more cohesive than his previous records, and decidedly darker, going through his scars with less humor than before. He announced last year that he would release yet another album, which still doesn’t seem to be quite done. Apparently, he recorded around 50 songs for it. Hopefully, he’s whittling it down to the best, showing more curatorial restraint than the aforementioned previous “That Part” collaborator.
I’ve always felt somewhat bad for Ab-Soul. The rapper’s breakout, 2012′s Control System, was sort of left in the TDE/Black Hippy dust when Lamar and ScHoolboyQ released bigger records (though I’ll take Control System over Habits & Contradictions any day). He’s followed it up with inferior albums that are still good but therefore finds himself billed 5th here. If you’re going to this, be sure to arrive early to catch this heady MC.
Rappers Jay Rock and Lance Skiiiwalker and singer SiR also open.
6/15: Brandi Carlile, Chicago Theatre
Alt-country folk rocker Brandi Carlile has been releasing great records since 2005, when she released her self-titled debut. 2007′s The Story had a title track anthem that found its way onto films and TV shows, as well as a low-key emotional centerpiece “Turpentine”. In 2009, she released the Americana-tinged Give Up The Ghost Americana-tinged and followed it up with the gospel-infused Bear Creek in 2012. Her last two, 2015′s The Firewatcher’s Daughter and 2018′s By The Way, I Forgive You were steps down as a whole but still had great songs, namely singles “Wherever Is Your Heart” and vocal powerhouse performance “The Joke”. While her set should be heavy on the new record, she’s an incredible talent, seemingly able to conjure the weariness that pervades her best songs on a dime when performing live.
Americana duo The Secret Sisters open.
6/15: Low Cut Connie, Winnetka Music Festival
Low Cut Connie’s new album Dirty Pictures Pt. 2 is a lot like their other albums: retro and emotive, sometimes for the sake of it. But the live show of Adam Weiner and company continues to be the main draw for seeing them--including their plethora of classic covers. They play at 7:00 P.M. at the BMO Harris stage.
6/16: Asleep at the Wheel, Old Town School of Folk Music
Austin-via-Paw Paw country band Asleep at the Wheel combine traditional western swing with Texas country. Lately, they’re known for their tribute albums to Bob Willis and The Texas Playboys, the most recent record released in 2015. Not to say the band doesn’t have great original music--they’ve been releasing records since the early 70′s, and have about 30 to their name. Take a listen to “The Letter That Johnny Walker Read” and “Miles and Miles of Texas”.
6/16: Alison Krauss, Ravinia
While her soundtrack performances and Grammy Award-winning collaboration with Robert Plant was what got her noticed beyond the oft-insular world of Americana, Alison Krauss is a great bluegrass singer and musician even when performing solo or with her band Union Station. While last year’s Windy City wasn’t necessarily up to snuff with her classics, it was still a solid entry in her ever-expanding catalog.
Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel opens.
6/16: Self Defense Family, Beat Kitchen
Self Defense Family is one of the more varied and ambitious bands to come out of this recent batch of emo bands. Their 2014 album Try Me was notable for half of its duration being due to a 40-minute interview with porn actress Angelique Bernstein, wherein she talks about the abuse she’s received over the years. (It was like the most interesting This American Life episode ever.) Later this month, the band will release Have You Considered Punk Music and have so far released the title track and "The Supremacy of Pure Artistic Feeling", a track that sees vocalist Patrick Kindlon reflect on the isolating nature of creativity and his decade-plus of music making. Both new tracks are typical of the band--wiry, emotional, and slow-burning.
Brooklyn experimental metal band Sannhet and local post-rockers RLYR open.
6/17: Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, Jay Pritzker Pavilion
We previewed Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters at Riviera back in February. Here’s what we had to say about them then:
“At this point, pretty much anybody who vaguely pays attention to guitar music knows about Robert Plant’s full-fledged transition from classic rocker to old folk fogey–Raising Sand, his collaboration with bluegrass singer Alison Krauss, won them Album of the Year at the 2009 Grammy Awards. But lesser known and just as solid are Plant’s two albums with his new-ish band The Sensational Space Shifters, 2014′s Lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar and last year’s Carry Fire, which allowed Plant to bend beyond the traditions of rock, bluegrass, or folk, incorporating elements of Arabic and North African influence into his arsenal. Luckily, however, for Zeppelin fans, Plant tends to mix beloved rock radio classics in with his newer material, overall making for a set that exudes old school songwriting, familiarity, and warmth whether you’ve heard the new songs or not.”
Chicago favorite Jon Langford opens.
6/15-6/17: Taste of Randolph
Avoid the bros and the overpriced food. Go for the music. Taste of Randolph has its best lineup in years. Headliners include guitarist/singer-songwriter Trevor Hall and goofy soul revivalist Mayer Hawthorne on Friday, Chicano Batman and soul singer Allen Stone on Saturday night, and The Devil Makes Three and Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real on Sunday night (which seems odd considering how much overlap there probably is within their respective fan bases).
With last year’s Freedom Is Free, Chicano Batman found their deserved audience, playing at major music festivals and one late night TV. (It was our #41 album of last year.) There are synths, organ, and guitars aplenty, but nothing can surpass the Latin rhythms and enthusiasm of front-man Bardo Martinez. They’ll make Randolph Street the place to be for the first time in a long time on Saturday night.
When we previewed their Concord Music Hall show in January, we lamented the lack of an original material Devil Makes Three album in years. Thankfully, they’ve now announced Chains Are Broken and have debuted the upbeat, funky “Paint My Face”, which they’ll play among I’m A Stranger Here and Redemption & Ruin favorites.
Forget their film soundtracks with Neil Young--it’s Promise of the Real’s self-titled album with Lukas Nelson (Willie’s son) last year that was their best. They should play lots of that album on Sunday night, though Nelson did co-produce Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born remake (and play his backing band). Maybe they’ll throw off the foodie crowd with some musical numbers. (I doubt it.)
Everything Everything also play Sunday. While we found last year’s A Fever Dream more smart than enjoyable, it’ll be thrilling to hear live performances of the title track and “Night of the Long Knives”. The band also released an EP earlier this year, including songs like the skittering, catchy, and yes, overcooked “Breadwinner” and the subtle, soft, chugging ballad “The Marina”.

June 24th, 2018 - Saw Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers in concert a year ago today, at the 2017 Winnetka Music Festival. I got to meet my favorite band, and tell them how much their music meant to me, and they were so friendly and gracious, and it blew my mind. Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers are really a great band...I love them so much...
