Quiet

Background noise was to be expected. Mostly of the leaves rustling in the wind. The crackling of the campfire. The hushed conversations. As if it really gave privacy.

However, there was one sound that was missing from the normal sounds of this world. A thundering charismatic, storyteller. There was almost never a moment that she wasn’t telling some kind of story. Being a source of entertainment for anyone who would listen.

Prior to the trial, she had been telling a story of Deaths Messengers. She was adding in details to make the story longer and more interesting. And it was working. Everyone around the campfire had their attention turned to her as she bounded about like a giant. They had leaned forward when she began to encapsulate the very being of Death. But there were trials to attend too.

He had known the ending to the story. Perhaps she was telling it to give some hope of ending for everyone. He wouldn’t know until she finished telling her version, but they would all have to make it out of their trials. Wether it was one or more, they’d eventually show up. The more they were killed, the longer they were gone. And everyone had already shown up at the camp, waiting for their beloved storyteller.

Thus the hushed conversations, the rustling of leaves, and the cracking of the fire. But he was still silent. Waiting for her to come back. His eyes checking the woods for movement. For a shadow and even listening for snaps of twigs under her foot. But there was nothing.

It was oddly quiet without her.

Dead By Daylight in Minecraft

Jake Park

The first one to get a bed.

Also the first one to coerce an animal into a pen. Starts a nice little sheep farm. No one knows how he got the animal in day 1, but we don’t ask.

Is also the only one who doesn’t die. He just… never dies. With or without Totem of Undying.

Nea Karlsson

Has fist fights with the mobs.

Has a chest labeled “My Chest” that no one is allowed to touch. Literally only has rotten flesh in it. Says she’s saving up for potions.

Can and will kill the Enderdragon with beds. Solo.

David King

Doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing. Literally does first day from fall damage. He’s just always jumping from things that are too high.

When he finally gets the hang of things, he always leaves the big oak trees with logs still in the blob of leaves.

Irritates the hell out of Élodie with his habit of letting creepers blow up her house.

Claudette Morel

Leaves flowers at everyone’s door with a sign that gives them a compliment. She also insists that everyone gets a “mailbox”.

Convinced Jake to farm colorful wool from sheep so she could make carpets for everyone.

Is petrified of mining and pays Bill in flowers to mine for her.

William “Bill” Overbeck

Was never seen since the 3rd day. Disappeared into the mines and never came out.

Will mine for other people, but at a cost.

Goods are transported to and from Bill’s mine via a chest mine cart that no one remembers him setting up.

Feng Min

Somehow managed to tame a horse that rides at the speed of light. Hasn’t gotten off it it since then.

“Can you make your door a little taller, my horse can’t fit.”

Even brought the damn thing to the nether to see Yun-Jin. She got it banned from Bill’s mines, too.

Felix Richter

Is horrible at building in this game. Still lives in a dirt 3x3 he built in the first ten minutes. Still runs with the basic wood tools.

‘Adopted’ a baby zombie and named him “Bernard”.

Got kicked out of many people’s houses for bringing Bernard along. Cries eternally on a daily basis since Bernard keeps killing him.

Yun-Jin Lee

“This game is for children. I’m not playing it.”

Now has an empire in the nether. Has very close ties to Bill since she supplies him with netherite while he supplies her with diamonds.

It’s very rare to see her out of the nether. But when she leaves, always manages to drag Piglins with her.

Élodie Rakoto

Designs the best houses. She lives in a 3 story beach house with a pool full of axolotls.

She doesn’t even want to look at Felix’s house, and offered many times to let him live with her. He stood his ground with his dirt house.

Also another one of Bill’s customers. Gets Glowstone from Yun-Jin.

Leon S. Kennedy

Has 16 dogs and counting. Each one has a different name and collar color. They are his precious babies, don’t fuck with them.

Accidentally slaughtered Jake and Claudette’s sheep farm after losing control of his dog army. Begged for forgiveness with tears in his eyes.

Lost 2 previous dogs to creepers and made them graves. His whole life revolves around his dogs.

Jill Valentine

Has a 7 story tall tower with a ton of defenses. Pull a lever and you now have four iron golems on your ass.

Don’t even try to get through her door because you’ll just fall into a pit of lava.

Only allows a few people into her house—Leon, Claudette, Jake, and Élodie. Élodie decorated the inside for her.
