Taco Tuesday with WD. They reconnected, but Reader still is very wary of the idea of dating alphas. They go out together and it is so much fun. Lots of mischief, friendly banter and tasty food. Reader sees how boys are affectionate to each other (and her) and how they are not afraid of PDA... Now suddenly she is not so opposed spending more time with her meatheads 😊
“You seem grumpy,” Steve quips at you, proud of himself and Bucky for finding a way to steal you away from the study lounge for something to eat, “what happened to your smile, sunshine?”
You’re crammed into a bench seat with Steve blocking you in, his wide and thick shoulders enhanced by the leather man jacket he’s wearing. The schools emblem is on the left hand rise with the little designation Q for quarterback is ensconced in bold lettering.
His name is etched into the back of the jacket in matching boldened letters. ROGERS is displayed proudly and you suppose Steve has rightfully earned the reputation of being primo meathead, but there’s something about him and Bucky that isn’t entirely…
Unsettling? No, it wasn’t unsettling.
Steve and Bucky had once been your best friends in daycare, you were inseparable and maybe that was the problem.
Their presence was not unsettling, but it had thrown you off.
“Beanie baby,” Bucky greeted you in cheerily almost as if he was chirping, something you didn’t think was even possible, “I got your favourite.”
“My favourite?” They decided as a mutual force against you that you needed to take a load off and get something to eat and having a like-mind, they’d dragged you to a taco place.
“You think I don’t remember?” Bucky sets the tray down with your orders, questioning you while reaching for Steve’s hand.
“Bucky-“
“Extra cheese, extra crispy with a side of guac, salsa and sour cream on the side. You like twice fried churros with caramel and chocolate, and a cup of cinnamon sugar in case they’re not coated enough.” He repeated your order with perfection and then leaned back against his chair in victory.
“Big whoop.” You murmured under your breath, first reaching for the cup of hibiscus tea Bucky ordered you. “You don’t know everything.”
“Steve, ya gonna let her talk to me that way?” Bucky leaned in and pursed his lips, pouting while Steve slapped his arm around your shoulders and ripped the top of your straw for you.
“And get another low blow from this cage fighter? You’re on your own.” Steve laughed under his breath and winked at you, faux wincing when you gently nudged him.
“Careful, omega bean.” He groaned dramatically and clutched his chest. “Nearly broke my ribs.”
“I’ll break something else.” You warned with a narrowing of your eyes. “Keep pushing me.”
“God, keeping pushing her Steve.” Bucky huffed, gulping down your scent like a starved man. “I loved the way that sounded.”
“Careful Buck, keep that up and you’re going to be laid out on your back.”
“Are you trying to seduce me, Stevie?” Bucky purred and reached out to clutch his hand. “Cause its working.”
“Yeah? Is it?”
“You could cut the tension with a feather.” You cut them off, dipping one of the tortilla chips you had gotten with your fried burrito into the quest. “How do people stand to be around you?”
“Can’t speak for Bucky,” Steve leaned further into you and kissed your temple, “but I’m cute, I get by.”
“Meatheads,” you giggled and lightly bat him away, your walls slowly crumbling to your feet, “cocky meatheads.”
“Eat up, beanie.” Bucky beamed, getting satisfaction from watching you eat. “You deserve it.”
