Wild Posting Agencies in Nebraska
Wild Posting Agencies in Nebraska: A Comprehensive Guide to Guerrilla Advertising
In todayâs highly competitive marketing landscape, standing out from the crowd is more important than ever. Traditional forms of advertising, while still effective, often lack the creativity and engagement that capture the attention of modern consumers. This is where wild posting comes into playâa dynamic form of guerrilla marketing that places advertisements in high-traffic areas, creating a direct, eye-catching, and immediate impact on passersby.
Nebraska, known for its wide-open spaces, growing urban centers, and vibrant arts and cultural scenes, is becoming an increasingly attractive place for wild posting agencies to leave their mark. This form of advertising is highly adaptable, visually striking, and cost-effective, making it a popular choice for local businesses, artists, and larger brands looking to connect with the local community.
In this article, weâll dive into the world of wild posting in Nebraska, explore why itâs an effective advertising method, highlight the best wild posting agencies in the state, and examine how this form of marketing can help businesses, events, and artists make a lasting impression.
What is Wild Posting?
Wild posting, sometimes referred to as flyposting or bill posting, is a form of guerrilla marketing that involves placing posters, flyers, or ads in public spacesâoften on walls, construction sites, fences, or abandoned buildings. This type of marketing uses large, eye-catching posters placed in strategic, high-traffic areas to grab the attention of pedestrians, drivers, and other potential consumers. The posters are usually part of a coordinated campaign and are placed in clusters to create a dramatic visual impact.
Unlike traditional billboards or paid advertising spots, wild posting is often done without the use of formal, pre-approved spaces. Instead, marketers look for temporary or unofficial spots to put up posters, contributing to a raw, grassroots feel. This âundergroundâ quality of wild posting makes it highly appealing to younger audiences and businesses looking for a non-traditional, edgy advertising strategy.
Why Choose Wild Posting?
High Visibility: Wild posting relies on volume and placement to ensure that ads are seen by a wide audience. By placing posters in multiple high-traffic areas, advertisers can create an omnipresent effect that is hard to ignore. The placement of posters at eye level in urban environments like Omaha and Lincoln maximizes visibility and makes it impossible for passersby to overlook.
Cost-Effective: Compared to traditional media like television, radio, or digital ads, wild posting is a much more affordable option. The materials and labor involved in putting up posters are minimal, which allows brands to run extensive campaigns at a fraction of the cost of more conventional methods.
Creative Expression: Wild posting offers a canvas for creativity. Brands, businesses, and artists can work with local designers and street artists to create stunning visual art that grabs attention and communicates a message. This artistic approach appeals particularly to younger and more urban demographics.
Local Targeting: One of the key advantages of wild posting is its ability to target specific local communities. For businesses operating in cities like Omaha or Lincoln, this form of advertising can connect with residents in a more authentic and relevant way, ensuring that the brand or event resonates with the local audience.
Immediate Impact: The bold, large-scale nature of wild posting campaigns creates an immediate impression. Consumers see the posters multiple times as they go about their daily routines, which reinforces brand recognition. This saturation effect can make a campaign feel more pervasive, encouraging consumers to take action.
Wild Posting in Nebraska: Why It Works
Nebraskaâs growing cities and thriving cultural scenes offer a fertile ground for wild posting. Cities like Omaha and Lincoln are not just home to a local population but also host tourists, students, and visitors who bring diversity and energy to the urban environment. These characteristics make Nebraskaâs urban centers ideal for guerrilla marketing strategies like wild posting.
1. Omahaâs Urban Landscape
Omaha is Nebraskaâs largest city and a hub of business, culture, and entertainment. The city boasts a rich blend of history and modernity, making it a great place for wild posting agencies to showcase their creativity. From the Old Market District to downtown Omaha, the city is full of popular neighborhoods where people gather for dining, shopping, and entertainment. These areas are prime locations for wild posting campaigns, as they offer high foot traffic and a visually dynamic setting.
Events such as music festivals, art exhibitions, and food and drink events frequently take place in Omaha, and wild posting is often used to promote these occasions. The cityâs young, diverse population responds well to creative, street-level advertising that speaks directly to their lifestyle.
2. Lincolnâs Vibrant Culture
Nebraskaâs capital, Lincoln, is another important city for wild posting. As home to the University of Nebraska, Lincoln has a youthful and energetic vibe that attracts students, artists, and innovators. Wild posting is frequently used to promote campus events, local concerts, and cultural festivals. The presence of college students creates a perfect market for edgy, visually appealing advertisements that are bold and engaging.
Lincoln is known for its thriving art scene, and the city is dotted with galleries, museums, and cultural institutions. For wild posting agencies, this makes Lincoln an attractive place to run campaigns that promote art events, gallery shows, and other cultural happenings.
3. Cultural Events and Festivals
In both Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska hosts numerous cultural events and festivals throughout the year. These events provide perfect opportunities for wild posting campaigns to generate buzz and excitement. From Omahaâs Summer Arts Festival to Lincolnâs Jazz in June series, wild posting is an effective way to engage the community and promote participation in these local events.
4. Tourism and Entertainment
Wild posting is particularly effective in targeting tourists and visitors who frequent the stateâs cities for entertainment, dining, and cultural attractions. In Omahaâs popular tourist spots like the Henry Doorly Zoo or downtownâs entertainment districts, wild posting serves as a key marketing tool for venues and events looking to draw in large crowds.

Strategic Placement: Agencies have a wealth of knowledge about the best locations for wild posting campaigns. They understand where high foot traffic is, which areas are most popular with the target demographic, and how to maximize visibility for your campaign.
Legal Compliance: While wild posting is often done in non-traditional spaces, agencies ensure that all campaigns are compliant with local laws and regulations to avoid fines or the removal of posters.
Creative Collaboration: By working with local artists and designers, wild posting agencies can create visually compelling posters that resonate with the community and make a strong impact.
Challenges and Considerations
While wild posting is a highly effective form of advertising, there are some challenges to consider. Weather conditions, especially in Nebraska, can sometimes affect the durability of posters. High winds, rain, and snow can damage posters, so itâs important to use high-quality materials that are weather-resistant.
Additionally, legal restrictions on wild posting can vary by city, so itâs crucial to work with an agency that understands local regulations. Posting in unauthorized areas can result in fines or the removal of your posters, which can undermine the effectiveness of the campaign.
Conclusion
Wild posting agencies in Nebraska are at the forefront of creative and cost-effective marketing. Whether youâre looking to promote a local business, an upcoming event, or an art show, wild posting offers an impactful way to reach a wide audience. By partnering with a professional agency, you can ensure that your campaign is strategically executed and visually stunning, making a lasting impression on the streets of Nebraskaâs bustling urban centers.

Difficult Times for Flight Attendants (NYT) One flight attendant needed medical attention for a crippling migraine brought on by confronting a passenger who refused to wear a mask. Aviation safety officials have received dozens of confidential complaints in the past year from attendants trying to enforce mask safety rules. The reports, filed in the Aviation Safety Reporting System database, at times describe a chaotic, unhinged workplace where passengers regularly abuse airline employees. The coronavirus pandemic and political divisions of the past year have caused fear, economic pain, and social and family rifts around the country, but for airline workers, and flight attendants in particular, the unease and tension have often converged in a tiny cabin space. The tension is at a level flight attendants have not seen before, said Paul Hartshorn Jr., a veteran attendant and a spokesman for the Association of Professional Flight Attendants union. âI think weâre pretty well trained on how to handle a disruptive passenger,â said Mr. Hartshorn, 46. âWhat weâre not trained to do and what we shouldnât be dealing with is large groups of passengers inciting a riot with another group of passengers [over political differences].â âItâs insane,â he added.
Fight The Man: What GameStopâs surge says about online mobs (AP) Itâs a fable for our times: Small-time investors band together to take down greedy Wall Street hedge funds using the stock of a troubled video-game store. But the revolt of online stock-traders suggests much more. The internet is shifting societyâs balance of power in unanticipated ways. In the world of pseudonymous internet message boards, pranks-gone-wild and logic turned upside down amid a global pandemic, revolts come in all shapes, sizes and aims. Last week they gave us the Great GameStop Stock Uprising. Who knows what this week will bring. âThe internet can democratize access, upsetting power dynamics between the people and traditional institutions,â tweeted Tiffany C. Li, a law professor and tech attorney focusing on privacy and technology platform governance. With GameStop, she added in an interview Friday, the goal was to upset the interests of a few large hedge funds. âBut in other places the goal can be more nefarious. Online spaces are being used to radicalize people toward extremism, to plan hate crimes and attacks,â she said. âThe internet isnât really the villain or the hero.â
Pandemic Pushes More Parents to Go All-In for Home Schooling (WSJ) As parents grow increasingly frustrated with remote learning during the pandemic, some are deciding to pull their children out of school and try teaching on their own. In North Carolina, the stateâs home-school monitoring website crashed on the first day of enrollment, and more than 18,800 families filed to operate a home-school from July 1 to Jan. 22âmore than double the school-year before, according to the state Division of Non-Public Education. In Connecticut, the number of students who left public schools to be home-schooled jumped fivefold this school year, to 3,500. In Nebraska, the number of home-schooled students jumped 56%, to 13,426, according to state education officials. âThe vast majority [of parents] are saying, âWeâve been really trying to do what the schools are asking us to do, but we just canât do this anymore,â â said J. Allen Weston, executive director of the National Home School Association, which has been fielding inquiries on the topic. Vanderbilt Universityâs Joseph Murphy, who studies home schooling, said âWe are in a major shift from how we thought about teaching children and running schools for 100 years. Parents have shifted to the place where they feel they need more direct involvement and greater responsibility for what happens with their children.â
Vaccine skepticism lurks in town famous for syphilis study (AP) Lucenia Dunn spent the early days of the coronavirus pandemic encouraging people to wear masks and keep a safe distance from each other in Tuskegee, a mostly Black city where the government once used unsuspecting African American men as guinea pigs in a study of a sexually transmitted disease. Now, the onetime mayor of the town immortalized as the home of the infamous âTuskegee syphilis studyâ is wary of getting inoculated against COVID-19. Among other things, sheâs suspicious of the government promoting a vaccine that was developed in record time when it canât seem to conduct adequate virus testing or consistently provide quality rural health care. âIâm not doing this vaccine right now. That doesnât mean Iâm never going to do it. But I know enough to withhold getting it until we see all that is involved,â said Dunn, who is Black. The coronavirus immunization campaign is off to a shaky start in Tuskegee and other parts of Macon County. Area leaders point to a resistance among residents spurred by a distrust of government promises and decades of failed health programs. Tuskegee is not a complete outlier. A recent survey conducted by the communications firm Edelman revealed that as of November, only 59% of people in the U.S. were willing to get vaccinated within a year with just 33% happy to do so as soon as possible. Health experts have stressed both the vaccinesâ safety and efficacy.
As Biden prays for healing, Catholics clash over presidentâs faith (GMA) On his quest to heal a divided America, Joe Biden may first have to confront bitter division over his presidency from within his own church. Since his inauguration two weeks ago as the nationâs second Catholic president, Bidenâs devout Christian faith has become a new flashpoint within the church. While millions of Catholics have celebrated the ascension of one of their own to the White House, some have been publicly questioning whether Biden should be considered a model of their faith. Many Catholic clergy and faithful are passionately fixated on Bidenâs support for abortion rights, which the church staunchly opposes and considers an issue of âpreeminentâ importance. Biden opposes abortion as a personal matter, but wrote in his 2007 memoir that he doesnât âhave a right to impose my view on the rest of society.â One in five Americans identifies as Roman Catholic, the largest Christian denomination in the U.S., according to Pew Research Center. While the faithful have long been divided in matters of theology and politics, Catholic values arenât exclusively red or blue.
Russia Protesters Defy Vast Police Operation as Signs of Kremlin Anxiety Mount (NYT) The Kremlin mounted Russiaâs most fearsome nationwide police operation in recent memory on Sunday, seeking to overwhelm a protest movement backing the jailed opposition leader Aleksei A. Navalny that swept across the country for a second weekend in a row. But the show of forceâincluding closed subway stations, thousands of arrests and often brutal tacticsâfailed to smother the unrest. By late Sunday evening in Moscow, more than 5,000 people had been detained in at least 85 cities across Russia, an activist group reported, though many were later released. Previously unseen numbers of riot police officers in black helmets, camouflage and body armor essentially locked down the center of the metropolis of 13 million people, stopping passers-by miles from the protest to check their documents and ask what they were doing outside. âI donât understand what theyâre afraid of,â a protester named Anastasia Kuzmina, a 25-year-old account manager at an advertising agency, said of the police. Referring to the peak year of Stalinâs mass repression, she added, âItâs like weâre slipping into 1937.â The large-scale police response signaled anxiety in the Kremlin over Mr. Navalnyâs ability to unite Russiaâs disparate critics of President Vladimir V. Putin, from nationalists to liberals to many with no particular ideology at all.
In Myanmar coup, Suu Kyiâs ouster heralds return to military rule (Washington Post) Aung San Suu Kyi defended Myanmarâs generals against genocide charges at The Hague. She praised soldiers as they unleashed artillery against ethnic minority settlements. She took only modest steps toward democratic changes that would chip away at the armyâs political power. It wasnât enough. On Monday, Myanmarâs military seized power in a coup, detaining Suu Kyi, elected ministers from her National League for Democracy (NLD) party and others in a predawn raid. Though condemned internationally for defending the military and its campaign against the Rohingya minority, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate who spent 15 years under house arrest until 2010 now finds herself again at the generalsâ mercy. The coup underscored the fragility of Myanmarâs decade-old, quasi-democratic transition that many assumed, despite imperfections, would continue with Suu Kyi as head of the civilian government and still-entrenched powers for the military, led by Min Aung Hlaing. But the military was never comfortable with its enduring unpopularity and Suu Kyiâs godlike status among ordinary Burmese, analysts said, despite its role in engineering the countryâs opening after half a century of isolationist rule.
Survivors of Beirutâs explosion endure psychological scars (AP) Joana Dagher lay unconscious and hemorrhaging under a pile of rubble in her apartment after the massive Beirut port blast in August, on the brink of death. She survived because of the courage of her husband who got her out, the kindness of a stranger who transported her in his damaged car and the help of her sisters during the chaos at the overwhelmed hospital. But Dagher doesnât remember any of that: The 33-year-old mother of two lost her memory for two full months from the trauma she suffered in the explosion, including a cerebral contusion and brain lesions. âI lost my life on August 4,â Dagher said. âI lost my house, I lost my memory, I lost two friends,â she added, referring to neighbors killed in the explosion. âI lost my mental health, and so I lost everything.â Â Â Â The Beirut explosion, which killed more than 200 people and injured more than 6,000, caused wounds on an even wider scale on the mental health of those who lived through it. Even in a country that has seen many wars and bombings, never had so many peopleâtens of thousandsâdirectly experienced the same traumatizing event at the same time. It came on top of the stress that Lebanese were already feeling from multiple crises, including an unprecedented economic meltdown, the coronavirus pandemic and a feeling of helplessness after nationwide protests against corruption that failed to achieve their goals. âThere are very high levels of anxiety and worry across the population,â said Mia Atwi, psychologist and president of Embrace, an organization working on mental health awareness and support. âThere is a low mood bordering on clinical depression for the majority of the population.â

After special favors and CVRA violation, what should happen to Jeffrey Epstein and his problem prosecutors?
The Miami Herald has done extraordinary work looking behind Jeffrey Epstein too-sweet deal, and it reports effectively here on the significant federal court ruling last week that prompts the question in the title of this post. Here are the details:
Federal prosecutors, under former Miami U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta, broke the law when they concealed a plea agreement from more than 30 underage victims who had been sexually abused by wealthy New York hedge fund manager Jeffrey Epstein, a federal judge ruled Thursday [available here].
While the decision marks a victory for crime victims, the federal judge, Kenneth A. Marra, stopped short of overturning Epsteinâs plea deal, or issuing an order resolving the case. He instead gave federal prosecutors 15 days to confer with Epsteinâs victims and their attorneys to come up with a settlement. The victims did not seek money or damages as part of the suit.
Itâs not clear whether the victims, now in their late 20s and early 30s, can, as part of the settlement, demand that the government prosecute Epstein. But others are calling on the Justice Department to take a new look at the case in the wake of the judgeâs ruling.
"As a legal matter, the non-prosecution agreement entered into by the U.S. Attorneyâs Office in the Southern District of Florida does not bind other U.S. Attorneys in other districts. They are free, if they conclude it is appropriate to do so, to bring criminal actions against Mr. Epstein and his co-conspirators," said lawyer David Boies, representing two of Epsteinâs victims who claim they were trafficked by Epstein in New York and other areas of the country.
Earlier this month, the Department of Justice announced it was opening a probe of the case in response to calls from three dozen members of Congress. Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse, the Republican chairman of the Senate Judiciary Oversight Subcommittee, on Thursday asked the DOJ to re-open Epsteinâs plea deal. "The fact that itâs taken this long to get this far is heartbreaking and infuriating," said Sasse. "The Department of Justice should use this opportunity to reopen its non-prosecution agreement so that Epstein and anyone else who abused these children are held accountable."...
Brad Edwards, who represents Courtney Wild â Jane Doe No. 1 in the case â said he was elated at the judgeâs ruling, but admitted he is troubled that it took 11 years to litigate. He blamed federal prosecutors for needlessly dragging it out when they could have remedied their error after it was brought to their attention in 2008. "The government aligned themselves with Epstein, working against his victims, for 11 years,ââ Edwards said. "Yes, this is a huge victory, but to make his victims suffer for 11 years, this should not have happened. Instead of admitting what they did, and doing the right thing, they spent 11 years fighting these girls."
Marra, in a 33-page opinion, said prosecutors not only violated the Crime Victimsâ Rights Act by not informing the victims, they also misled the girls into believing that the FBIâs sex trafficking case against Epstein was still ongoing â when in fact, prosecutors had secretly closed it after sealing the plea bargain from the public record.
The decision follows a three-part series published by the Miami Herald in November, "Perversion of Justice," which detailed how federal prosecutors collaborated with Epsteinâs lawyers to arrange the deal, then hid it from his victims and the public so that no one would know the full scope of Epsteinâs crimes and who else was involved.
The 66-year-old mogul lured scores of teenage girls from troubled homes â some as young as 13 â as part of a cult-like scheme to sexually abuse them by offering them money to give him massages and promising some of them he would send them to college or help them find careers. Future president Donald Trump, former president Bill Clinton, lawyer Alan Dershowitz, Prince Andrew and other world leaders, scientists and academics were friends with Epstein, who also owns a vast home in Manhattan, a private jet, and an island in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where he now lives....
Instead of prosecuting Epstein under federal sex trafficking laws, Acosta allowed Epstein to quietly plead guilty in state court to two prostitution charges and he served just 13 months in the Palm Beach County jail. His accomplices, some of whom have never been identified, were not charged.
Epsteinâs victims were not told the case was closed until it was too late for them to appear at his sentencing and possibly upend the deal. Two of them filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in 2008, claiming that prosecutors violated the Crime Victimsâ Rights Act, which grants victims of federal crimes a series of rights, including the ability to confer with prosecutors about a possible plea deal....
Acosta, who was nominated as labor secretary in 2017, issued a written statement through a spokesman: âFor more than a decade, the actions of the U.S. Attorneyâs Office for the Southern District of Florida in this case have been defended by the Department of Justice in litigation across three administrations and several attorneys general. The officeâs decisions were approved by departmental leadership and followed departmental procedures. This matter remains in litigation and, thus, for any further comment we refer you to the Department of Justice.â
Michelle Licata, who was molested by Epstein when she was 14, said the judgeâs decision was "a step for justice." But she still questions why federal authorities have failed to open a new case against Epstein, given that more victims and evidence has come to light in recent years. "They should see if they can prosecute him for something. I mean, really prosecute him â instead of giving him 13 months where he was allowed to come and go as he pleased. I just want to see him face some consequences for what he did."
Francey Hakes, a former federal prosecutor, said the Crime Victimsâ Rights Act doesnât spell out any punishment for violating its terms, so it would set a precedent to re-open Epsteinâs agreement. "Epstein will surely argue he complied with the agreement, relied upon it, and plead guilty under it so it canât be overturned in fairness to him," she said. "I will be very interested to see what the parties say the remedy for the violation should be. Ultimately, it is simply shocking the Government went to the lengths they did to keep the victims in the dark in order to make a serious predatorâs high priced defense team happy. Justice should not, and does not, look like this."
This commentary by two former federal prosecutors asserts that there should be lots of consequences from the new ruling in this matter:
Outside of the Justice Department, it also seems untenable for Acosta to be allowed to remain in his position as head of the Department of Labor â a federal agency with significant role to play in combating and prosecuting human trafficking cases and protecting the rights of minors. He should be fired or resign.
Most significantly, Epstein and anyone else involved in this crime need to be held fully accountable and the rights of the victims fully vindicated. Judge Marra has already ruled that the CVRA authorizes âthe rescission or âreopeningâ of a prosecutorial agreement, including a non-prosecution agreement, reached in violation of a prosecutorâs conferral obligations under the statute.â Judge Marra seems to be suggesting that Epsteinâs agreement be voided and the federal investigation reopened. (Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., has called for DOJ to do just that.)
It is always tricky to Monday morning quarterback another prosecutorâs decision: There are often facts and circumstances known only to the prosecutors that factor into whether to proceed with charges, take a case to trial or even enter into an NPA. However, given the many deficiencies in the NPA â most notably the systematic exclusion of victims from the resolution of this case, DOJ should reopen the investigation, and assign it to another U.S. attorneyâs office or an arm of the DOJ.
The only way to preserve the integrity of this case is for a clean set of eyes to review the facts and ensure that justice is done.

Tylerâs Takes 4.0
3/26/2018
It is another late edition of Tylerâs Takes! I apologize for the delay as I have been wanting to wait until after the basketball concludes each weekend before I start with my takes. That will no longer be happening and I will be posting on the usual Saturdays from now on. There is a ton of stuff to get to so here we go...
College Basketball
Duke Blue Devils
Man that was a whirlwind of emotion to go through in short span of time. The game was pressure filled and intense but it was not played well. It was an instant classic from the standpoint of it being a close game but there was a lot of bricks and turnovers for it to be an all time great game. I really thought Grayson Allen had hit the buzzer beater to win in regulation. That was brutal.. I replay it in my head about every hour or so.. Sometimes you get the breaks and sometimes you donât. That is life... and hats off to KU they played good enough to win yesterday. Okay now that the emotion is out of the way lets break down what I saw. Duke just did not hit shots. 24% from 3 point land will not win you many games especially against elite teams. This Duke team did not live by the three as previous teams did but when you shoot that low of a percentage it is going to catch up with you. Duke also did not feed Marvin Bagley enough in my eyes. That could have been how Kansas was defending him but I think the guards were hesitant to try and feed the post for some reason. Wendell Carter was underrated all season and I hated to see his last game as a Blue Devil go like that. Duke was really clicking in the second half with him on the floor and an awful block call ruined his last game. The call did not change the game but it was about as bad a call as you can make on a block/charge. This Duke team was really fun to watch all year and I will miss Grayson dearly. Duke reloads next year with the top rated recruiting class but this team was special with their senior leader. The zone decision by Coach K early in the year transformed them into a good defensive team that I did not think was possible after their early defensive whoas in the man to man. I will be interested to see how Marvin develops his feet in the league because he could not guard a sole in college (in man to man). Wendell will make some team that drafts him extremely happy and I cant wait to see where he ends up. Thanks for a fun season Duke!
Everything Else
Kansas State looked ugly in their loss. A game I thought they would control with their defense got away from them early in the second half. Give them credit they never gave up and didnt have their best player (Dean Wade) for the tournament and still made a run.Â
Kansas was beatable the first weekend of the tournament but have found their groove. Malik Newman was on fire yesterday and if he keeps that up they will be cutting down the nets a week from now.
My original bracket still has the champion alive and 50% of final four teams. I will take that after the craziness of the tournament. Villanova was an easy pick. Ill pat myself on the back for Michigan even though they looked ugly at times they are two wins away from a championship.
PREDICTION- Ill take the chalk this weekend Michigan vs. Nova in the championship. Loyala is a poor mans Michigan. Mo Wagner will have a day to remember. Villanova has too much elite guard talent and Newman shows he is human and takes a step back. Look for my championship prediction in 5.0!
Major League Baseball
Boston Red Sox
The baseball season starts this week and I need to take my mind off the crushing Duke loss. Thank you baseball! Call me a homer but I am not sold on the division rival Yankees. Ya the playoffs left the media with a bad taste in their mouth about the Red Sox and the Yankees added the National Leagueâs best hitter but I am taking the Sox to win the division. The Red Sox had no power last year, did not have David Price, and had down years from the core of their lineup. The Red Sox starting rotation is better, the line up will only improve from last year, and I think the Yankee starting pitching lets them down (they Yanks do have the best back end in baseball though). This Red Sox team needs to tread water for the first month of the season while they are dealing with injuries and suspensions. (Drew Pomeranz, Eduardo Rodriguez - starting pitchers injured Steven Wright -starting pitcher suspension Dustin Pedrioa -starting second baseman injured) Look for a bump and boost in moral from the manager change. Alex Cora cant be worse at decisions then Farrel was.Â
PREDICTIONS-Â
AL East - Red Sox             NL East - Nationals
AL Central - Indians            NL Central - Cubs
AL West - Astros               NL West - Dodgers
Wild Cards - Yankees vs. Blue Jays and Cardinals vs. Diamondbacks
PLAYOFFS
Yankees over Jays and Cardinals over Diamonbacks
Astros over Yankees and Red Sox over Indians
Dodgers over Cardnials and Nationals over Cubs
Astros over Red Sox and Dodgers over Nationals
Dodgers over Astros
National Football League
Dallas Cowboys - The Cowboys got off to a slow start during the free agency period taking a wait and see what happens approach during the lead up and first week and half. They have been busy ever since will additions and subtractions. The big news is the subtractions. They released Orlando Scandrick. It will be his tenth season in the league this year but without a replacement in place yet I think his production will be missed. In his time with the Cowboys he had 406 tackles, 8 interceptions, 63 pass break ups, and 11.5 sacks. A rookie will not have the impact this season he would have had for the Boys. Dallas lost some depth on the offensive line as well but they still will be one of the best lines in the league. The exciting news for Dallas is what they added for Dak. The wide receiver room now includes proven pass catchers Allen Hurns (underrated since he had Blake Bortles throwing to him) and Deonte Thompson. This should give Dak unlimited resources to spread the wealth and with Zeke back for a full schedule this offense could return to form.
Everything Else
Suh signed with the Rams today for 1 year 14 million. The Rams signed everyone on defense it seems like so it will be interesting to see how that all meshes together when it comes time to actually play the games. The NFC West is really interesting but that is a topic for another time.Â
As April comes around more draft talk will begin happening (YUCK). Ill revive the NFL commentary during the week before and week after the draft unless requests are made or breaking news happens around the league.Â
College Football
Nebraska Cornhuskers
A quick college football note! Spring practices are starting around the country. Scott Frost had his first spring press conference and the team practices tomorrow for the first time. Expect a lot of patience and pump the breaks on expectations for the season from the coaches but also dont be surprised if they tell you there are some really good players on this team because that is not a lie. The cupboard is full of talent but two new systems will make for some ugly time as well. The Nebraska media will gush about Scott and what he is doing all spring so just expect that if you are a Husker fan. Rainbows and sunshine articles until they lose their first game.Â
A few quick NBA hitters and I am gone!
-Golden State has the injury bug in a bad way. Kerr said Curry is out until after the first round... Durant and Klay have not been playing with their own injuries of late but they are not as serious. The Warriors have had great injury luck during this run of theirs but that might be changing now.Â
-The Celtics are in trouble. The Irving knee issue is bothersome because I feel like no one actually knew what was wrong with him. We will see if the surgery they performed on him last week helps.Â
-Will the real east contenders please stand up? The Raptors will be the one seed but does anyone believe in them? Does this Cavs team flip the switch? Are the Wizards anything with or without John Wall? Do the Bucks make it out of the first round with a top 4 player in the league on their team? So many questions headed into the final stretch of the seasonÂ
-If you are not an NBA fan I challenge you to look at the Western conference standing after reading this and then just check it every week. It is a log jam and is entertaining to see who falls in and out on a weekly basis. You do not have to watch the games just look at the standings. ITS A MESS!!
With that I am out of here! I want to thank everyone for reading and supporting Tylerâs Takes. I do this for the enjoyment it gives me so it is gravy if you enjoy reading it as well. Remember if you have something you want to see in next weeks edition just let me know and I will work it into the fold. Thanks and have a great night!

Mutual of Omaha Life Insurance Company Review
Mutual of Omaha has been in the business of offering insurance and financial products for over 100 years. Our Mutual of Omaha review shows that the company is financially strong, and it deems itself as being family oriented with a solid set of âunflinching values.â
The company prides itself on backing its products with both fair and timely service to its customers â and it continues to pursue excellence at all levels. Mutual of Omaha strives to maintain a Code of Ethics and Business Conduct for legal, ethical, and responsible practices to follow. The company also prides itself on encouraging new ideas, trying new things, and not being afraid to fail and learn from their mistakes in order to grow the business.
Mutual of Omaha currently has approximately $31 billion in total assets under management â and due to the company's Midwest values, it is one of the most respected insurance companies in the industry today.
#quote-widget { display: none; margin-bottom: 30px; } @media screen and (max-width: 766px) { #quote-widget { display: block; } .sidebar-primary #text-463840114 { display: none; } }
The History of Mutual of Omaha
Mutual of Omaha actually began as Mutual Benefit Health & Accident Association back in 1909. The company started in Omaha, Nebraska, with its first president, Harry S. Weller, who served as its leader until 1932.
By 1920, the company was licensed to offer insurance in 15 states. That same year, premiums went over $1 million, and less than 20 years after that, the firm was licensed to sell insurance in 48 states and two territories.
By 1958, Mutual of Omaha surpassed the $1 billion mark in terms of benefits paid out to its policy holders. But it was in 1963 that the company became famous for its wildlife and reality programming â the âMutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdomâ show that featured Marlin Perkins.
Today, the company continues to make great strides in the insurance industry â as it is one of the very few insurance companies that offers an online application for Medicare Supplement insurance policies.
Products Offered
Mutual of Omaha offers a wide variety of insurance and financial products for both consumers and business customers. These include Medicare Supplement, life insurance, long-term care, disability insurance, critical illness coverage, annuities, structured settlements, cancer, heart attack and stroke insurance, small business solutions, and investments.
On the life insurance side, the company focuses on the following types of policies:
Term Life Insurance â With term coverage, policy holders are covered by pure death benefit protection. There is no cash value build up or investment component with this type of coverage. This is why term life is so affordable for most people. Term is also considered to be âtemporaryâ coverage. This is because policies are purchased for a set period of time, such as for 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, or 30 years. Should the insured pass away while the policy is in force, the named beneficiary will receive the set amount of death benefit protection.
Whole Life Insurance â Whole life policies are considered to be âpermanentâ protection. This is because â provided that the premiums are paid â the policy will cover the insured for the whole of his or her entire lifetime. Although the premiums are typically higher than for a similar amount of coverage, whole life insurance will also provide both death benefit protection, as well as cash value. The cash value in a whole life insurance policy is guaranteed to grow at a set interest rate. And, the cash is allowed to grow on a tax deferred basis. This means that no tax is due until the time of withdrawal. This can allow the cash to grow and compound exponentially over time.
Universal Life Insurance â Universal life insurance is also a form of permanent coverage, as it offers both death benefit protection and cash value build up. It also offers lifetime coverage, provided that the premiums are paid. This coverage, however, is more flexible than whole life in that the policy holder has more freedom in terms of when they can pay the premium, as well as with how much of the premium they allocate to the death benefit and how much they allocate to the cash component of the plan.
Accidental Death Insurance â Accidental death coverage is a type of plan that will pay out additional funds if an insured dies as a result of a covered accident. This coverage can help to ensure that loved ones are taken care of financially should the unexpected occur. (It is important to note that this coverage will not pay out if the insured dies due to sickness or other natural causes).
Financial Ratings
From a financial standpoint, Mutual of Omaha is considered to be extremely strong â which is why the company has earned top ratings from the insurance company ratings agencies. This means that policy holders can know that the company will be there when they need them to pay on when they have a claim. Mutual of Omaha's ratings include:
A+ (Superior â For overall financial strength and ability to meet ongoing obligations to policy holders) from A.M. Best Company, Inc.
A1 (Good â for current financial strength and ability to withstand financial stress in the future) from Moody's Investors Service
A+ (Strong â for financial strength to meet obligations to policy holders) from Standard & Poor's
Advantages and Considerations Regarding Mutual of Omaha
There are a number of nice advantages associated with Mutual of Omaha â starting with the fact that it is a Fortune 500 company. The firm has a great deal of both history and stability, and it has great ratings from the insurer rating agencies. Due in large part to its long-running Wild Kingdom programming, the company has a great deal of name and brand recognition.
The company's website allows its visitors to easily obtain quotes for both whole life and term insurance coverage. And, the prices for all lines of the company's life insurance are quite competitive.
In addition, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) has also given Mutual of Omaha an A+ rating, as the company strives to honor the promises it makes to their policy holders via their business practices and customer service. Mutual of Omaha has been accredited with the BBB since February 1940.
Yet, even with all of the advantages with Mutual of Omaha, there are still some factors to consider before moving forward with the purchase of a policy. First and foremost is the fact that by obtaining quotes from only one insurer, you can essentially lock yourself into just one premium price.
Imagine going to just one auto insurance company or just one appliance website before purchasing these products â without so much as checking into other companies' prices. On such an important decision, it is highly recommended that you do some comparison shopping and see what else is available. You may find that Mutual of Omaha is the best deal out there â yet, there may be something else better.
For those who may have an adverse health issue, it is especially important to do some comparison shopping. This is because there is the possibility of being either âratedâ or declined for coverage altogether. However, by working with an agency or company that has access to more than just one insurance carrier, you can directly shop your application to numerous insurance companies at one time. This can save you countless hours of time and frustration during the insurance shopping and application process. There is also the option out there for a no medical exam life insurance policy that may work best for you. Whether you need life insurance, burial insurance or need to know what different companies are out there, we can help!
How to Obtain the Best Life Insurance Policy
Regardless of needs, goals, and / or current health condition, it is always important that when seeking out life insurance coverage, you should compare the policies and the premium quotes that are available to you.
Any time that you shop for important products or services, you will typically seek out the very best deal â so, when looking for the financial security of those that you love, wouldn't it only make sense to do the same?
If you're ready to locate the insurance policy and company that will best serve your needs, simple use the form on this page. I have partnered with Root Financial to provide you with unbiased life insurance quotes. They work with the top life insurers in the industry today, and can help to get you all of the pertinent information that you require quickly and easily â direct from your computer.
I know that the purchase of any type of insurance, such as life or health, is a big decision â so it is essential to review the companies that you may be choosing and make sure you are getting the right policy. That is why I partnered with a trusted independent agent to help answer all your questions and provide you with the information you need to make the best decision. Since Root Financial is an independent agent they work for you not for the insurance companies and will help you get the best rates. So instead of just getting quotes from only Banner or MetLife, you will get quotes from all the top companies that offer coverage in your area. The time is now to get started on solidifying your familyâs financial future.

Enduring cold snap creates headaches at home, on highways
TOLEDO, Ohio/December 29, 2017 (AP)(STL.News) â Already winter-weary parts of the Midwest and East Coast are dealing with a mounting number of weather-related headaches, from highway pileups to frozen pipes and a rash of car thefts. And thereâs more to come.
Bitter temperatures and snow squalls have been blamed for a handful of deaths and canceled a long list of New Yearâs celebrations.
Icy roads in central Michigan caused more than 30 crashes Friday on highways near Flint while a chain-reaction crash involving about 40 vehicles in the southwestern part of the state left three hurt.
Coastal South Carolina saw a rare bout of freezing rain and drizzle on Friday that forced bridges from Charleston to Myrtle Beach to shut down for de-icing.
Police in the Cincinnati area say a half-dozen cars have been stolen in recent days after being left running unattended by owners trying to warm them up. Cincinnati police warned in a tweet that leaving your car running means âthe only person who will be warm is the thief who stole your car.â
More snow is on the way in Erie, Pennsylvania, where 65 inches have fallen since Christmas Eve. Now parts of the surrounding county could get up to 16 inches of more snow by Sunday.
A call center set up to help people dig out has been overwhelmed. âThe phones have been ringing off the hook,â said Josh Jaeger, a coordinator for the center told the Erie Times-News.
Cleanup continued inside Michigan State Universityâs basketball arena after a frozen water pipe burst and flooded a hallway, but the mess wasnât expected to interrupt a game Friday.
Diann Wears, of Toledo, said she was already fed up with winter as she stood along a slush-covered sidewalk while waiting for a bus.
âAnd itâs just the beginning,â she said Friday. âIâm sure it will get worse.â
Frigid conditions in Boston took their toll on the nationâs fifth-largest transit system.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority has spent heavily to winterize whatâs known as the âTâ since it was crippled by record-breaking snowfall in 2015. But the agency reported âsevere delaysâ on one of its lines Friday, citing a broken piece of track and a disabled train, among other problems.
Several deaths have been linked to the wintry weather during the past week.
In South Dakota, an 83-year-old woman died from exposure to the cold after she crashed her car and then got out to look for help. Search crews found her body in a ditch on Sunday. Three people were found dead in a canal along Lake Erie earlier this week after their car slid off an icy road.
The National Weather Service predicts another blast of arctic air will chill much of the eastern two-thirds of the U.S. through the weekend and into 2018.
Temperatures could fall into the single digits as far south as Oklahoma and sink to zero or below Friday night in Nebraska and Iowa and remain there for at least three days.
âItâs pretty unusual to get that long of a streak where itâs completely below zero,â said Iowaâs State Climatologist Harry Hillaker. âHistorically, that doesnât happen very often in Des Moines.â
The Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies braced for storms forecasters warned could bring several feet of mountain snow and freezing rain.
With the bitter cold expected to stick around, many New Yearâs Eve plans are being scuttled.
Shore towns in New Jersey canceled plans for polar bear plunges in the Atlantic Ocean and organizers pulled the plug on the annual light bulb drop in Sunbury, Pennsylvania.
In Boston, organizers of the L Street Brownies plunge scoffed when asked if they were scared off by the weather.
âItâs a go. Itâs always a go. We never give up,â Dan Monahan told the Boston Herald about the event that attracts more than 600 swimmers each year and has gone on for more than a century. âWeâre stubborn people in Boston. Weâre about tradition.â
Fireworks shows have been called off in Omaha and at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. And New York Cityâs Coney Island says it will be too cold for free rides on the Wonder Wheel and Thunderbolt roller coaster.
Animal advocates urged people to protect their pets from the cold. Wild animals werenât immune from the dangers of winter, either.
In Ohio, wildlife officers mulled how to rescue a deer stuck on an ice-covered river. They managed to lasso the deer with a rope and pull it to shore Friday, but they had to euthanize the injured animal.

Trail Runners Join the Fight for Public Lands
New Post has been published on http://www.greggsdiabetes.com/trail-runners-join-the-fight-for-public-lands/
Trail Runners Join the Fight for Public Lands
Last week the Trump administration presented a budget proposal for 2018 that featured significant cutbacks to a number of government agencies. Among a host of other reductions, one proposed cut would give the Environmental Protection Agency its smallest operating budget since its inception in 1970. Against this backdrop of shifting national priorities, a new grassroots initiative called Run Wild is hoping to engage the trail-running community in the fight to protect public lands.
Run Wild's website went live earlier this month, and the founders are still figuring out what the specifics of the fledgling projectâs activism will look like. At present, the emphasis is on getting the word out, growing its network, and advocating for increased appreciation of the roughly 640 million acres of national heritage that all Americans collectively own. The organization, which has ten cofounders, has partnered with the Wilderness Society, a nonprofit that has been on the front lines of the conservation movement since 1935. The collaboration with the Wilderness Society gives Run Wild access to a network of experts keeping a vigilant eye on legislation related to public lands. âI think for a lot of trail runners, the connection between protected land and their sport is rather obvious, and there is an innate appreciation for that land,â says Emily Peterson, a Run Wild cofounder, environmental philanthropy consultant, and Salomon brand ambassador who lives in the Bay Area. The idea for Run Wild came about in January, when the now-infamous House Bill 621, a proposed piece of legislation that would have sold off 3.3 million acres of federal land, was introduced. But Utah representative Jason Chaffetz rescinded his own bill just a week after proposing it, and the withdrawal was partially attributed to an outraged response from hunters, fishermen, and other outdoor enthusiasts who saw it as a potential threat to their recreational habitat. The reversal was touted as a win for the outdoor community, and as evidence thatâfor those who have an active interest in protecting public landsâit pays to make your voice heard. Run Wild wants to help trail runners join the chorus. âThese are issues that a couple of years ago we would never have thought that weâd have to fight for. At this point in history, itâs almost as if nothing is safe,â says Dylan Bowman, a North Faceâsponsored ultrarunner whoâs also a founding member of Run Wild.
A potential model for the group might be the system used by the Outdoor Alliance, the nonprofit that unifies the voices of several outdoor-recreation advocacy groups, including the American Alpine Club, American Whitewater, and the International Mountain Biking Association. The alliance offers a legislative tracking toolâessentially a newsletter-style service for concerned citizens that e-mails action alerts (both preemptive and reactive), which typically include a prompt to contact oneâs congressional representative. One such alert went out immediately after last weekâs budget proposal, which, along with the 31 percent cut to the EPA, also proposed a 12 percent cut in funding to the Department of the Interior (which oversees the National Park Service), and a 21 percent cut to the Department of Agriculture.
By maintaining consistent contact with the D.C.âbased Wilderness Society, Run Wild is hoping to facilitate nimble, quick-response activism at the local level. For example, H.R. 621, which would have affected swaths of public land from Oregon to Nebraska, prompted protests across the West, including rallies in front of Montana and New Mexico statehouses. Down the line, Run Wild might be able to contribute to similar forms of active resistance.
âHaving the support system of a group of people who are committed to a mission gives you strength in the face of uncertainty and gives you the infrastructure and organization to confront challenges as they arise,â Bowman says of the partnership. Though Run Wild is selling T-shirts with proceeds going to the Wilderness Society, its founders are wary of the limited effectiveness of do-gooder âclicktivismâ and also want to provide some means for more tangible engagement right away. On Earth Day (April 22), the organization is planning a Run-In Day, where runners across the country will be encouraged to go out to a favorite trail, take a picture, and ideally provide some educational background about how that land became protected. The founders of Run Wild also want to be clear that this is not a self-centered lobbying effort predicated on the interests one specific recreational group. âWe do want to emphasize that this isnât really about the protection of trails for pet trail-running projects, adventures, and races. Itâs really advocating for all outdoor use and access,â says Peterson.
Aligning themselves with the broader outdoor coalition that came out to oppose H.R. 621 is a wise move. Rather than a bunch of skinned-kneed nature lovers taking on extractive industry juggernauts by singing âKumbayaâ around the proverbial campfire, trail runners belong to an increasingly potent lobbying forceâone that contributes an estimated $640 billion to the national GDP. âAttaching financial figures is political currency,â says Peterson. âEven though it may not be our first priority to attach a financial figure [to the trails we run on], I think it gives you a foothold in the dialogue.â
