after some experimentation, i've found that "clean-shaven and hair hidden under a beanie" gets me gendered as male way more reliably than "hair loose, full moustache". no idea why long hair provokes such a strong "that's a girl" reaction, but there we go.

#other observations: binding doesn't affect it one way or another (likely because i wear a lot of baggy layers)#makeup also doesn't make a difference and nor do earrings #i get he himmed when i'm wearing platforms and standing behind the counter because people think i'm taller than i am #so height is obviously a big factor. but i can't do much about that lol #voice is highly variable and can go either way #oh! and long coats for some reason tend to be perceived as Girly (again: no idea why)#wild!#be shh now

the thing that’s so maddening about this game is that there are good bones here under the mess. all of the characters have so much potential and in some cases it is very obvious that they were watered down during the development process… none of them are allowed to be fully realized in-game. and then there’s the racism,

oh you just washed his clothes? They’re all dirty and ripped up now after leaving the house for a hour. “Deku..I swear an hour ago you were clean! Why must you do this to me..” *ugly sobbing*

His way of falling asleep is interesting. Just like a dog. *turn turn turn turn* *pause* *sit* *lie down* *sleep* and you can’t help but take a picture, cause it’s rare to see him all calm…

No loud noises. He will bark like a dog, *BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK* at cars that pass by him. “Deku! You’re embarrassing me!” You say, trying to hold onto that last sliver of dignity you have left.

Cuddling and head pats with him is always started by him. By you? No no. Unless you wanna end up in the hospital, despite you provide everything his feral ass needs. That is forgotten the second you try to initiate anything. Deku: how dare this peon pat my head despite them giving me everything I need. D:< (cleaned version of his thoughts cause idk what he’s thinking)

When you put on your favourite tv show, and not give him a glance, he has to use all his willpower not to karate kick that miserable thing. How dare it take away your attention? Like he doesn’t even actively acknowledge you, but it still pisses him off. But if he does, he knows he’s going to get babysitted by someone else. Honestly, it’s a miracle how much you tolerate him.

You accidentally drop something on the floor? Immediate panic, waiting to hear the barking. You pause..nothing? Panic sets in. THAT FERAL IDIOT ESCAPED.

Ah…just feral Deku. He’s like ..a cool kind of crazy, that makes you interested in him, a puzzle waiting to be solved.

hey gang i just did a minor update for tnp over on itch but it was just some bugfixing, sorry to bait you 🙈 i did want to post a devlog/update/check-in type thing over there too since it's been so long since i've posted anything on itch, basically just confirming this is still being worked on and i'm planning for a content update this year.

i also did block off access to the highfell route for now, so hopefully people won't keep getting locked out of ch2.

#and i finally moved my image sources off of discord and compressed them with the game along with the fonts lol #i partially replayed as i was testing things and honestly the prologue and ch1 feel like theyre written by someone else....#wild!#update #i guess
