“Just when Jayne was in need of new hairstyles came the Great Wig Robbery of 1965. When the US banned human hair imports from Communist countries, wigs suddenly became worth their weight in gold. In February 1965 a band of well-organized crooks hit Wigtowne’s warehouse in Brooklyn. The thieves broke in through the skylight and then through a first-floor wall and made off with $60,000 worth of goods, including four extra-fancy “nude white” wigs (worth $1,200 apiece) set aside for Jayne, and seventeen wigs that customers had left to have restyled. On their way out, the gang also pilfered an astonishing $15,000 worth of false eyelashes. Wigtowne was not the only target in that year’s hair heists. That same week salesman Alfred Averell was arrested with $111,000 worth of hot wigs and hairpieces stolen from his employers, Sylvester & Sons. He was nabbed when his getaway driver left hair hanging out the back of the truck, and police thought it was a murder or kidnapping.”

Wiglets: The Tiny Hair Miracle: Wiglets are a type of hair extension designed to add volume, length, and thickness to existing hair. Unlike traditional wigs, which cover the entire scalp, wiglets are small and designed to be attached to specific areas of the head where hair is thinning or sparse.

LOL. A certain someone doesn’t want hq pics of their latest cosmetics work. Usually, anytime he gets his hair colored it’s to distract from maintenance hair plugs and botox fillers. Peep the thick, dense bush on his head and that smooth forehead.

goddamn maybe the real reason he hasn't released is because the hair plugs he took on a big parade around manchester united and onstage with stevie nicks didn't take and his hairline is back to crawling up into space. his hairline looks almost as bad as it did before. it's going to be to the point that when he returns and some of us insist he had hair plugs put in people will act like we're crazy because WHERE did these hairs go. he can't even get longterm commitment in his hair follicles. the man's life is hanging by the roots.

and why is he so fucking angry looking all the time? you're a fucking rich white cis hetero millionaire who never has to do any work for the rest of his life. politics has zero fucking impact on you. you care dick about anything in the world. why the fuck are you so mad all the time? lmao

Last night I watched the first episode of four-part documentary Ministry of Evil investigating the Alamo Christian Foundation, the notorious abusive cult founded by corrupt husband and wife con artists Tony and Susan Alamo in 1969. Look, the Alamos were horrendous people but as John Waters concludes in his essay “Crimes of Fashion: A Look Inside the Criminal Wardrobe”: “I don’t judge criminals by the terrible crimes they commit, I judge them by what they wear.” On that level, the duo possessed a gloriously trashy Country & Western dress sense with baroque platinum blonde bouffant wiglets (her) and dark Elvis-style shades and sideburns (him). (They made Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker look understated). In their pomp, the Alamos evoked a shitkicker Christian fundamentalist version of Raymond and Connie Marble of Pink Flamingos, or a George Jones and Tammy Wynette tribute act.

“By the time she was twenty-nine years old, the child born Sofia Scicolone to an unwed mother from Naples had: changed her name twice; married and had her marriage annulled; miscarried a child; moved from Pozzuoli near Naples to Rome to Beverly Hills to Paris to Switzerland and then back to Rome; won prizes in beauty pageants; become a star of fotoromanzi; appeared topless in two movies; and accrued more than forty mainstream film credits … She had won an Oscar while speaking a language other than English (a first); she had received a $1 million payday to appear in a movie (a first for an Italian, male or female); she was held as a living embodiment of Italian mores and style and, especially, movie art; and she had become an international symbol of sex, glamour and in some eyes, shamelessness and vice.”
/ From Dolce Vita Confidential: Fellini, Loren, Pucci, Paparazzi and the Swinging High Life of 1950s Rome by Shawn Levy, 2017 /
Born on this day 89 years ago (20 September 1934): Italy’s most famous export, sex goddess Sophia Loren! Pictured: Loren in the film Boccaccio ’70 (1962) in the segment directed by Vittorio De Sica. This is my favourite performance of hers. If you’re mainly familiar with Loren from her frequently decorative English-language roles, seeing her act in her native Italian is a revelation. She’s a loose, funny, self-mocking and earthy comedic performer – and of course, irresistibly sexy! And Loren never looked better. I mean, just look at her!
