Theres a settlement of people who have had their home ruined by the industrialization of Bowerstone as the sewers lead directly into their home and theres only so much they can do to make it better on their own, as their king ignores them and the man responsible mocks them. These sewers are also now the main way for them to enter the city forcing them to walk through filth should they need something they can't provide for thmselves. The person who would be their advocate, whatever Lord resided in the Sunset House was driven mad by chesty and burnt his home down with himself inside, leaving them with no one to help them.

And then they named it Mourning Wood making it so difficult to talk about.
