Note
Is it normal that I’m legitimately so scared of saying pretty morally tame things like “I don’t want to talk about genocide because it makes me severely uncomfortable” or in general expressing my political opinion.
Like i’m not even kidding when I say that all my drafts are just my possibly offensive (probably not) political takes i’m just so scared of everyone leaving me it’s not even funny.
Anyway i also think that if you talk about Palestine but not Ukraine you are a victim of Russian Propaganda™️
I’m sorry I don’t know why i did this have a nice day ok baiiiiiii
Here's the thing. You and every other average social media user should not have to masquerade as a sudden in-depth expert on every single social, political, humanitarian, etc. crisis that we are dealing with in this wretchedly miserable excuse for a timeline. It should not be a baseline expectation on you that when you log onto your little social media in your little average life, you have to come up with The Correct Opinions on everything and if you don't, you're "perpetrating oppression" by not vigorously spreading misinformation, instead of simply admitting that you don't know what to do, you as an average citizen are not in a position of making this change and therefore don't actually have to spend every waking minute obsessing about it, and that maybe, just maybe, you'd like to spend more time informing yourself until and/or IF you decide you want to talk about it. This is the same as the Instagram Activists (TM) who traumatize themselves to the point of PTSD by constantly consuming torture and/or war porn and/or graphic content about murdered children because they "don't have the right to look away." Actually, you do. You are able to make choices to control your personal social media use and to set boundaries as to what you do and do not want to do and/or see, rather than insisting that the only moral choice is to literally mentally destroy yourself with all the weight of human suffering in the world and then expected to act as a de facto expert on all of it, on pain of being Cancelled. This is a stupid, irrational, unhealthy, and generally idiotic expectation. You should not have to take part in it. Nobody should.
Likewise, I think that this is a large part of why people are so scared to voice any opinion that goes against the Prevailing Groupthink: they are afraid of losing friends, of having nasty bad-faith internet trolls say mean things about them, being accused of being a "bad person," or otherwise being guilt-tripped, shamed, and blamed for not centering their entire existence around something that they cannot actually do anything about. Once again, people think the only way you can be Known to Oppose Something Problematic (tm) is if you post on social media about it all the time. Forget whatever you might be doing offline, in your real life, or otherwise; it "doesn't count" if you don't make a big virtuous display of your Rightthink, or you will be viciously harassed. Now, look, I am old and/or tired enough that I don't give a shit what stupid internet users say about me, but I can tell you that I sure did when I was younger, it was incredibly painful to be on the end of those kinds of attacks, and it's (again!) not something you should just have to expect as a baseline level of gaslighting and harassment. As I have said. This is Tumblr. It is a stupid blue website mostly for fandom and/or three in-jokes. This is not a platform where we are expected To Do Social Justice all the time, nor should it be. As for Elon Musk's Twitter: yeah. No.
Also: yes, if you do spend all your waking moments obsessing over Palestine, but say nothing whatsoever about Ukraine and/or openly support Russia, you are in fact very much a victim of Russian Propaganda and you 100% support genocide when it's done by an "anti-western" state that you support for that reason alone. You only care because you can use the cause to make yourself look morally superior, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with opposing genocide on a basic, universal, or fundamental level. The end.
(I hope you have a nice day too. The anger in this is not directed at you. I support everything you've said here and hope that you're able to set healthy boundaries and protect yourself.)

Joanna Cherry is a vindictive terf
(This will not be a surprise to many people in the trans-supporting parts of the UK)
From an instagram story:
I am putting myself at risk by saying this - joanna cherry is extremely well known for her litigious and anti trans behaviour; she is a master at manipulating the legal system to her advantage. --- i was already being stalked and harassed online and in person but i didn't realise how high up it went. part of the initial evidence pack was an affidavit admitting to and detailing stalking my account and uncovering my home address: written by one of the co-founders of "for women scotland" - an anti trans hate group. this person then forwarded my tweet to joanna cherry - though in open court she offered several explanations as to how it "could" have fell in her lap, claiming to have forgotten. i was depressed and suicidal - before, during, and in the aftermath - and this was well known, i was open about it on my socials and with the police medical examiner. i was told by my lawyer that normally a case like this would not be perused but, because of joanna cherry's influence, the case could not be dropped. today is the two year anniversary of the raid. two weeks ago i finally got my stuff back - 8 months ago i was acquitted. i have been harassed, constantly, by anti trans activists for years; after i gave my first not guilty plea, joanna cherry took to twitter and called me a man. i have been traumatised by her and her followers. joanna cherry is a vindictive, machiavellian bigot - a transphobe who used me as a pawn against the trans community which i am part of. she is running for reelection this year. her district is edinburgh south west.

“I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views … being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look … my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name.

Just as a quick disclaimer:
I do have people with paraphilias following me and people need to understand that paraphilias are actually fairly common and go hand-in-hand with consensual kinks. I have paraphiles that follow me who are in therapy and don't believe in involving non-consenting parties and I am very protective of them. If I catch anyone messing with them, I'm reporting you.
This reblog is not an anti-paraphilia post, being completely against paraphilias is, IMO, ridiculous. I am against abuse and nonconsensual relationships. This reblog is about accountability and I don't care how old you are, you are old enough to understand certain behaviors in queer spaces is unacceptable, especially when you shove yourself into ADULT queer spaces especially during a time our lives are in danger. This is also not me actively encouraging any harassment to this person, just block and report.
However.
And this is a big however.
I would actively avoid aronarchy because not only are they complicit with real abusers, they also:
- participate in two Mastodon servers that have pedophiles that are pro-contact (basically means they think it's okay touch children). These servers contain the worst of the worst, one individual was busted for grooming a nine year old neighbor. I am not naming said servers for obvious reasons.
- believes in "consensual incest"... Whatever that is. They even used this against me (ftr, I was sexually abused by a family member).
- has written real person fanfiction with individuals that have been abused by predators, fics about other people they engage in, fics that romantize abuse. Mind you, that's not them being pro-shipping (I'm indifferent to shipping, I don't care if they're pro-ship) I'm talking about real life people.
-Encourages self-harm... They caused me to relapse back in 2021.
- compulsive lying, they change their story so frequently. They even attempt to infiltrate certain spaces because they think they're the Mother Jones of MAPs, apparently.
- using "youth liberation" in terms of MAPs and children having interactions.
- mocks CSA survivors if they don't believe in their "anarchist" rhetoric (in no anarchist circle this person would be accepted).
- believes in arming MAPs
- compares MAPs to the LGBTQIA. enough said.
- against therapy or any kind and snubs people participating in it, even paraphiles and equates it to conversion therapy, as in, the very conversion therapy that LGBTQIA people are forced to participate in.
- believes in transrace... I have not seen any indication that the transrace endorsement is mutually exclusive to adoption.
- questionable self-diagnosises... See the compulsive lying because the NPD and ASPD I'm highly skeptical of.
- refers to CSA and the like as "discourse".
And many more, because I'm actually sticking my neck out here.
They've had multiple Tumblrs, Instagrams, Twitters, and Dreamwidth accounts. With the exception of Dreamwidth, these accounts have been suspended numerous times to their complicity to things and active predators. They do not respect people's spaces or triggers. If you call them out, they'll make an excuse that you're an "ageist" or "privileged".
They claim to be a minor, but given that they interject themselves constantly in adult spaces, that's not an excuse for their behavior and the "but I'm just a minor" doesn't excuse their abhorrent behavior past and current. If they are a minor, they're close to adulthood (and I say IF because now I'm questioning that) and they need to learn certain behaviors are not acceptable in a functioning society, let alone in queer and fandom spaces.
Please do NOT weaponize this against paraphiles because this is not what this is about if they are against abuse. I have a history with this person and I want people to be massively aware and I have also just given a TL;DR.
Isnt aronarchy pro para too :| why are so many pro endos and pro transabled people also pro para. And like, side note, i wish pro para wasnt like "uwu we condone paraphilias anti contact is genocide and being anti para is ableist" bc like. What the fuck, paraphilia is a mental illness, you should know better than to encourage it, and yes those are takes i saw. On tumblr. I hate how much traction that side has been getting lately, esp in syscourse.
Oh yeah they are. I've seen the receipts. me too. Like full disclosure but I used to have really bad (recovering from it now!) POCD (tw for csa) as just an overall tint to my preexisting OCD.
I was like 16/17 when it started too soooo and it's like not the same AT ALL but I've seen people compare it to a paraphilia in like... An argument for being pro? Like they use it to support the argument that MAPs are completely fine. And to me that's disgusting.
Like I'm all for people with paraphilias to get the help they need, like they are sick, but other than that I'm uncomfortable around them. They actually trigger my OCD and flashbacks to csa n it creates a whole thing I have to deal with. I just can't be comfortable with the idea of somebody like that near me
So I'm glad aronarchy blocked me since they're literally just... Probably a victim if I'm being honest. They're still of the age of predation. I don't think them having a public stance on the matter is even safe, or smart. If they were smart they'd keep it to themselves. That's a good way to attract predators.
Edit: sorry it took so long this topic is really uncomfortable to like dive into lol

Thinking of physical confrontation is a bit of an overreaction?Taekookers are acting up because they are now getting taekook content. It is higly unlikely anyone from that group will hurt JK or Jimin.Specially when JK is half of their preferred ship. Also on twitter more Tae fans fight on behalf of Jimin against Taekookers than Jimin fans do for Tae against Jikookers. No one is physically attacking anyone.
This type of inflammatory remarks and overreaction should be reserved in thoughts only.
Excuse me, Nonie, but no, absolutely NOT. Now is exactly the time to raise the alarm.
I'm not sure which parts of Twitter you hang out on, that you can remain blissfully unaware and think the majority of Taekookers fight on behalf of Jimin or champion JK as half of their ship (instead of treating him like a prop), but why don't you join some JM and JK report accounts for a few weeks and take a good long look at the daily hate comments, death and rape wishes, stalking tips, and targeted attacks toward JM and JK fans? Stay on those accounts for at least a month so you can see how many Taekookers get suspended and then make new usernames and come right back on to keep doing it. The volume will shock you.
Now I would expect some cat-fighting online and for Taekookers to constantly comment on their ship on the Vlives. People are people. But unlike the other fanatics and shippers, unhinged Taekookers and Jimin-antis have:
--doxed Jimin's personal info online (a huge security risk)
--published photos and private info about Jimin's family members (invasion of privacy)
--bashed JK and Jimin in group chats and then campaigned online by trending the "Free Taekook" type hashtags (defamation, lies)
--paid serious money to fly to Korea and show up at the airport with "Taekook is Real" signs where the boys saw (proximity, extreme behavior)
And in an effort to prove their ship and out two supposedly closeted members, Taekookers have harassed:
--a child from a music video
--Tae's hairdresser
--a necklace maker
--a ring maker
--collaborating musicians and artists
--models on instagram
--models in Paris
--an actor whose partner died
--JK's brother
--JK's tattoo artists
That's just what I have seen as a very new Army and remember off the top of my head. I'm sure if I went digging, I'd find more.
And look, Jikookers aren't angels--there are assholes in every subset of humanity. Jimin, Tae, and JK deserve better from everyone. But no one else is doing this amount of sheer toxic crap. Don't equate what some asshole Jikookers say about Tae; there's no way it's on the same level. This isn't normal fan behavior. They don't just celebrate their ship. Big accounts keep whipping up anti-Jimin sentiment and false narratives about Tae and JK. They flat out LIE. And I and other Armys are telling you: it is escalating.
Three years ago, Taekook fans used to say things like "Jimin and JK are just doing fanservice; Tae and JK's relationship is real and not for the cameras." Which was rude but not insane. NOW, some Taekook fans go around saying things like "Jimin is a slutty fat pig, a no-talent whore leech, who brags about doing charity work to cover up dodging his taxes and his father's right-wing connections, all while he fucks Bongo for payola on his songs that he makes with rapists, and then he forces poor Tae to watch him use JK's body for fanservice to appeal to Korean Jikook fans for money."
This kind of fantastical bullshit goes round and round until more and more people start to believe some or all of it (or they stop fact-checking it and shutting it down because it's exhausting). It's not just defamatory, it's dangerous. It's right up there with the smear campaign that Hillary Clinton runs a child sex trafficking ring out of the basement of a pizza shop in DC. Folks laughed that off and said not to indulge such fantasies with attention, right up until a crazed patriot with a gun showed up to shoot up the place.
Am I saying FOR CERTAIN that antis and/or Taekook fans are going to attack a BTS member? No, of course not. I don't have a crystal ball. But I am saying their unacceptable behavior is escalating, and BEFORE it turns into orchestrated blackmail or becomes violent towards members or other fans who don't support the Taekook narrative, we all need to shut it down. The company, the members, Army, and other Taekookers especially need to work to shut it down.
There are crazy people in every fandom and always have been and it shouldn't be our responsibility to police their thoughts--but their actions reflect on all of us. And unfortunately a few psychos is all it takes to make a huge problem for everyone. This rabid subset of Taekookers are going from having feelings and opinions to having a faith narrative and taking invasive actions. So rather than sit around clutching our pearls or rolling our eyes or keeping our thoughts to ourselves, NOW is the time for Army to recognize the extent of the problem and actively call it out.
If after you do a bit more investigating into the dark side of BTS fandom, you still think I'm being inflammatory and uncalled for by raising red flags here--come off anon. Comment on this post. State for the record your defense of Taekookers. I'll bookmark it and circle back with you in a year. And if by then, everything died down on its own, and Taekookers didn't keep escalating their anti behavior, I will personally apologize for over-worrying and remove this post.
I hope I'm never too proud to admit it when I'm wrong. But Nonie? I'm not wrong. Our community needs to check this behavior before it gets so far out of hand that people get hurt. If that stance seems too controversial to you, it might be best we part ways here.

that ask you got hit home so fucking hard lol i had this group of people that were kinda like online friends on twitter who i'd been interacting with since the beginning of the pandemic. the first time we really disagreed on something was when the loki series came out. they really hated it while i liked it. they constantly talk about all the "problematic" things about it but mainly sylvie and sylki. they would say that supporting sylki is supporting transphobia and other xyz-phobias. it got bad as time went on as they started accusing users of deliberately setting off their triggers and causing panic attacks by posting sylvie/sylki content. For some reason though they never picked a fight with me despite the fact that i ship sylki and never hid it. they were always polite. they would say things like "it's cool that you ship it, just as long as you recognise it's problematic :)" so i kept following them and they kept following me. till last week when i discovered that they had been posting screen shots of my tweets on instagram just for the sake of shade lol. idk why it took me so long to realize that there's no way that someone who believes a ship is completely heinous can still respect people who ship it. also mcu instagram is a brain-dead wasteland
Hi anon! Sorry for the delayed response. I’ve read this awhile ago and haven’t had the right time to give it the attention it needed! (Plus a lot of fandom negativity got in the way 😅)
Anyway those “friends” of yours are literal two faced losers and I’m glad to hear you found out eventually. I wouldn’t be surprised if they treat each other the same way considering the lack of loyalty they show to you. Antis turn against each other all the time. I’ve seen it happen to big anti accounts.
There are some great Sylkis on twitter that’ll welcome you with open arms. (Without any back stabbing) I hope you blocked all their accounts. You don’t deserve that type of harassment.

what is your opinion on the anti-ereri people? currently there is a heated discussion going on in Instagram because of ereri .. what I'm so fed up with. I would like to hear your opinion on it what do you think about the anti logic.. if you don't mind of course.
there is not much to say. there is no logic in the things they say. there is no logic in constantly looking at stuff that supposedly triggers you. there is no logic in defending fictional lines on paper by harassing, doxxing, suicide-baiting real life people and then acting innocent when a suicide does happen. as i said yesterday on twitter:
Tumblr media
if you think instagram has it bad, come on twitter 😂 this past week we got several callout lists, a voice actor harassed to hell and back for making a spicy comment, a RM shipper’s art is being attacked on multiple platforms, big accounts sending their minions to harass smaller ones over ship hate disguised as morality, etc, etc.
don’t listen to them, don’t keep reading what they say (it can be so damaging), don’t engage, just block and send cute appreciative stuff to who you see is being harassed. this is what i think.

https://puppyjjong.tumblr.com/post/170088296184/i-hope-that-shawols-are-really-really-ready-for
anon linked to the above post. i'm going to make this quick and to the point because it's almost 3am where i live and i'm really wiped but:
long story short ... everything that the op of that post said is true. despite what some have been trying to say the situation with antis in korea, specifically in the case of jinki, is really bad and has been for awhile. i can't really speak on what is going on with taemin because i feel like those coming from him are in a small minority but i can speak of what i've seen and been told about the situation with jinki. his scandal back in august caused him to lose a lot of support within k-fandom and, on top of that, gained him a large amount of antis in the form of general idol antis, sm antis, and nasty radfem (like the type who go after and harass people for no reason and spam them with gore photos and child pornography) who have been ... very, very loud. there’s been a lot of speculation that the reason for this is because of how clean his image was before it happened and because of how clean shinee’s was in korea in general. they were waiting for a member to mess up and the second one did they had their pitchforks ready to go. obviously everything was pretty bad in the few weeks following the scandal but it wasn’t until the release of the seasons greetings teaser that everything began to get worse. shasase, who were the biggest ot5 fansite in k-fandom and are the creators of the shabat, dropped their support of him and slyly opened up their forum so jinki’s antis could have an “ot4″ related home to trash on him. you can read a bit more information on their recent antics here, but after doing a good bit of gaslighting and bullshittery, they announced that they were going to close their forum next month ... but they’re keeping it open in a very strategic manner, ie: dragging out on giving the date and most are guessing that this is because they want to keep the forums open until after the domes so antis can use it to target jinki based on his actions and appearance there. beyond this: shinee’s dc gall also withdrew support for jinki. for those not familiar with what a dc gall is: they’re located within dc inside which is one of the more old school korean forum sites. it's really similar to reddit and virtually all idol groups have their own dedicated to them. shinee's has been around since their debut so obviously there's a lot of people who follow it and a lot of traffic that goes through there. antis also hang around other korean forums and they camp out for shinee related articles so they can troll around and reply to comments with their trashy input. they also hang around naver often, like op said, and continuously search certain phrases as to keep them in the top related searches when you search the group. (example: if you search them right now three of the top five results are "shinee taemin withdrawal", "shinee onew withdrawal" and "shinee gallery".) the antis don’t normally hang around sites like instagram, but a lot of the radfems going after jinki do frequent twitter and some of the tweets that i’ve seen made ... have been beyond disgusting. disgusting to the point where i won’t even repeat what i saw being said. you don’t want to know. the lightest that i can say is similar to what op said in the post above: it’s not uncommon to see people accusing jinki of using jonghyun’s passing as a way to gain sympathy, nor is it rare to see them calling out his letter and accusing him of using jonghyun and his mom as a “crutch”. to add on to this: some of these people even say gross shit about jonghyun after his passing which says even more about what type of people they are. like op said: people may say that it’s not “as bad” as it seems but none of this is to be taken lightly because these antis are loud and they’ve proven what they can do. a few examples of what they have done include: 1) making it seem like the seasons greetings was being boycotted when it was actually selling well and leading not only media websites to report on a “boycott” taking place but for one or two morning news television broadcasts to report on it as well. 2) harassing aladin (one of the top korean retailers) to remove seasons greetings freebies of jinki so often and so badly that they actually complied and did it. 3) buying up jinki’s merchandise from different sources (like sm coex atrium) and sending it all back to sm with letters and notes attached to the items stating that they want jinki out of the group, and also constantly calling up sm to say the same thing. 4) planning to stage a protest when it was announced that the dome concerts would be happening. (this was before jonghyun’s passing.) those are just some of the antics that come to mind right away. there are others that are kind of slipping my mind in my tiredness and others that i have no idea about. tl;dr: this is all a combo of what i’ve seen personally and what i’ve been told by friends who have friends within k-shawol fandom. there’s a lot more to be said that i’m not aware of yet, and eventually i know of some people who are going to try and translate and explain all of it to i-shawols but it could take some time. i agree with op that we need to do our best to support them, especially jinki, because there’s a good chance that we’re going to see some nastiness sprouting up. these people really don’t know when to quit. as i-fans, there’s really not much that we can do to stop them directly because a lot of it is so deep into korean web that it’d be difficult for us to clear it up ourselves but we can still do our best to support from afar. the domes are probably going to open up a can of worms and it’s going to continue even after that, considering that jinki’s case has, regardless of what people have said, still not been officially closed and it does appear that the results are going to be released once it has been and that’ll start up an entirely new cycle of hate. this end up being a lot longer than i thought it would be, but yeah. as i said: none of this should be taken lightly as we’ve seen before how badly antis and online hate can affect idols and that they can literally ruin careers and lives if they want to.

A follow up to the posts about the Nazi art (drawn by a Klance artist), the Pride Parade Klance sign & all those edits where Sheith scenes in canon got turned into Klance ROMANTIC scenes by people who constantly spam “I ONLY SEE THEM AS BROTHERS, BROGANES, THAT’S SUCH A PLATONIC BROGANES SCENE” everywhere.
NOTE: This is referring to the Klancedom, NOT Klance shippers. If you do NOT do any of these things, this post is NOT talking about you.
This interview has been approved of by MisterPoofOfficial (names were blacked out at her request).
Do NOT harass any of these people in the screenshots.
The events:
> Misterpoof creates a parody animatic of the Heathers song “Dead Girl Walking” & makes it a Sheith video. At this point, Poof was already known for not wanting to make any content for Klance & only making content for Sheith, Keitor, Pance & gen stuff.
> Klancers fill the comments section, whining for a Klance version. Misterpoof blacklists the word “klance” from her notifications & deletes all comments mentioning them. Poof’s fans tell the klancers to knock it off.
Tumblr media
> A Klancer makes a yandere Klance PORN version of Poof’s animatic, directly advertising it on the comments of Poof’s animatic. (Keith & Lance semi-graphically have sex in this video).
Tumblr media
Lord Pastel Lance: The Klance version was Keith TRYING TO RAPE AN UNWILLING LANCE (he gives in after Keith "reasons" with him) Oh god, klancers Never change Poof: Oh dear lord;;;; that’s gross I didn’t even watch the video, I was too scared it was gonna look like mine;;;” Lord Pastel Lance: NOPE It's got yandere creep faces & is genuinely disturbing with dark colors & Lance PHYSICALLY shoving Keith away from him And like, actual sex Like, they fuck
> Meanwhile, as Klancers & antis flock to the Klance version, the plagiarist upvotes & responds positively to anti-Sheith & anti-Poof comments. She claims that she admires Poof’s stuff even though it’s Sheith & she hates Sheith & doesn’t like going on Sheith vids while also saying that Sheith content on youtube should not exist at all (even joking that she will start a ship war).
Poof: And my video was dedicated to my friends--It wasn’t even supposed to be taken seriously yet people think that me assigning Lance as the "bad guy" means that I hate him Lord Pastel Lance: Seriously, who says "I was inspired by Poof" & then promotes & likes comments basically saying "I hate Poof & Poof's stuff".
> She even went so far as to react negatively & shut down an upset Sheith fan who was just asking for others to let people ship whatever they want. > She also agrees (multiple times) with fans that gay sex is sin & that they are sinners for getting off to her Klance porn video. > She also claims to be a 14 year old who openly draws BL porn on her parents’ laptop & says that she got all her knowledge from BL stuff & yaoi.
Tumblr media
Lord Pastel Lance: Google research: literally just a click away Poof: Honestly......I mean they’re using their parent's computer after all Lord Pastel Lance: They already drew twinks fucking on their parents' computer Are they seriously that worried that their parents will see them reading about gay sex
> She also linked Poof’s video directly on her Klance video & self-promoed her klance version directly in the comments of Poof’s vid. (And mentioned how much she hated Sheith). [Reminder that the Klance version was watched predominately by Klancers/antis who were bashing Poof for not making Klance stuff. This was essentially painting a huge bulls-eye on Poof. And that the Klance artist was encouraging these types of comments in her own comment section.]
Poof: The comments I’ve gotten in the video (are removed) -- I’ve been called a "pedophile" for liking Sheith and making content for it -- another comment was talking about age discourse (also removed) I recall getting a comment (also removed) saying this wouldve been better with Klance
> Poof finally disables all comments (just on her Heathers video though).
Tumblr media
Lord Pastel Lance: Also They're blaming YOU & your fans in the comments Poof: I KNOW I READ IT AND IT’S RIDICULOUS
Tumblr media
Lord Pastel Lance: ??? If they wanted to apologize, why didn't they just send you a fucking ask? Poof: Exactly??? I have my tumblr and twitter on my about on youtube Lmao they could’ve looked and said sorry instead of talking shit
Tumblr media
Poof: I found this in my Dead Keith Walking part 2 Lord Pastel Lance: Amazing Poof: Funny.....You say that Lord Pastel Lance: And yet they can't seem to send you a single comment apology Poof: Yup Lord Pastel Lance: It costs zero dollars to say "sorry for causing people to bash on you" Like damn gurl, you don’t need a tumblr to talk to misterpoof Poof: Exactly??? And they don't know how to use it ------------------------------------------- Lord Pastel Lance: By the way, Did the plagiarist ever apologize to you (directly) on tumblr/youtube? Poof: Nope! Never got a single message from them apologizing to me Lord Pastel Lance: Damn It's been like a whole week or so, right? Poof: Yeah Lord Pastel Lance: Even toddlers can use smartphones to google "how 2 do this" now Poof: Lmao true Lord Pastel Lance: Seriously, there is no way that it takes them over a week to figure out "HOW DO I SEND POOF AN ASK ON TUMBLR" Poof: I mean sure they're new to it and they don't know how to use tumblr, but seriously, it's not so hard to just go to my channel and apologize or send me a message Lord Pastel Lance: Yeah, but A WEEK In 2017 Plus they already send you comments on youtube There's nothing stopping them from sending you an apology On youtube Poof: Mhm ------------------------------------------- Poof: So apparently they "apologized", but through instagram and it was just...
Tumblr media
:/ You know, I was expecting a message since there is an option on instagram. Not...being tagged in something where everyone can see it.......... I checked my instagram for once jfc, I don't go on it often, but they tagged me in their post to say "sorry"... Lord Pastel Lance: With like zero context Poof: Yup They just straight up said "I’m sorry" and nothing else :/ Lord Pastel Lance: Sorry for what? Plagiarizing? Shitting on you? Self-promo-ing in the comments of your own vids? Promoting comments that shit on you & your vids? That's SO vague Poof: Exactly??? I'm not replying back to the post because not only is it awkward, but it's just not right to forgive them for what they've done Lord Pastel Lance: I don't think they've fully understood their part in this either I think it's more like a "oh noes, a BNF is upset & people think it's my fault that she's mad!!! D:" sort of thing Poof: Mhm
Twas not the straw that broke the camel’s back, but a never-ending pile of sticks instead.
The entitled hypocrisy of the Klancedom is outrageous.
Claiming to loathe Sheith, but constantly looking at Sheith content & whining to the creators that the content would be “so much better if it was Klance & Broganes instead”. Taking no responsibility when people use your Sheith->Klance content to harass the original creators. Excusing anything & everything fucked up that a Klance fan does with “they didn’t know any better!” even though everybody in the discourse is talking through the INTERNET -- the information multilingual multicultural highway. Encouraging discourse & ship hate while pretending to be ignorant about it. Dismissing all the harassment shaladins receive while using the “Not All Klancers” card whenever shaladins complain about the harassment. Doing NOTHING to stop/prevent the Klantis from harassing people while you yourself bitch endlessly about how Shaladins are such hypocrites for generalizing Klance fans as hate-spamming anti-Sheith douchebags. Calling yourself an anti to “protect children & the LGBTQ+ community” while squealing happily about how gay sex is “sin” unironically.
The second you start allowing/encouraging people to trash on someone, who you CLAIMED to like, & that person’s stuff, which you REPEATEDLY mentioned that you dislike, you have chosen a side in the discourse. You are NOT being neutral.
You don’t want to get involved in discourse? Fine. THEN DON’T GET INVOLVED AT ALL.

Please stop posting misportrayals/negative generalizations to provoke attacks
It has been awhile since I had to post yet another disclaimer to dispel the hatred and attacks that antis keep trying to mislead the fandom with, on the Shumdario tag.
Thanks to that post, a bunch of people are again wrongly receiving hatred, death threats and extreme attacks because a person decided to negatively generalize and misportray something to selectively target people because of their unfounded hatred/intolerance for them. The shippers try to avoid drama, conflict as much as possible but the antis will go out of their way to manufacture a line of attack or spin something to demonize everybody. Not long ago, an anti photoshopped a fake instagram post response from Harry. The person admitted it was fake and even then, it took several weeks for that hate to die down. Then now people are trying to start up a fight again over their hyper-policing. It is sad that people feel the constant need to manufacture drama to validate their bullying stance against something ( that goes on in all fandoms).
90% of the Shumdario shippers never even post anything on instagram or twitter openly most of the time. Most of us literally hide the majority of the time ( because we get persecuted, bullied so much), and are extremely low key. The tumblr community of shippers already made a pact NEVER to send anything directly to Matthew, Harry, or anybody else. We respect the 4th wall. I know all of the Shumdario shippers on tumblr and none of them do this. However, we can’t monitor every single person that exists.
It is a lie for a person to generalize, to claim that all Shumdario shippers tag Matthew or Harry in all of their instagram or twitter posts when it comes to Shumdario videos or edits. A handful of international fans (who are not even on tumblr) do this. Even those people, are not directly sending them the material to them.  The majority of Shumdario shippers do NOT want attention and just interact with other shippers. Antis are projecting the notion aggressively that they must feel outrageously uncomfortable even though the shippers are as very passive as can be. The two of them would have to go out of their way to search for the shippers material to see it. Most celebs do not do that and do not try to control or ban people’s ships or fantasies. The Shumdario shippers are not trying to start up anything, it is the antis looking to start a fight here yet again by throwing out a broad generalization to create a line of attack.
Stop generalizing people and please stop up starting up unfounded drama on the Shumdario, Matthew Daddario, and Harry Shum Jr tags. I doubt that either Matthew or Harry care that people ship Shumdario especially since most of the shippers are extremely low key about it and are respecting the 4th wall.
I know a lot of the fandom has been programmed and brainwashed by a fanatical agenda over this. I know the more aggressive antis keep trying to mislead or stir up controversy by trying to convince everybody else to hate us. There is a group that loves to bully and harass others relentlessly while going out of their way to contrive fictional or inaccurate reasons to justify their harassment. Not acceptable that yet again, a number of innocent people are receiving death threats, bullying, and attacks over this. Not acceptable, that people keep being traumatized with so much pain, hostility to the point of quitting the fandom or show over the antis stirring up antagonism yet again.
Any rational person at this point, would know that the shippers haven’t been out of control at all, it is the antis who can’t seem to stop instigating drama over spreading of hatred or accusations. Also, it is NEVER appropriate to demonize or profile an entire group of shippers over what a few apples have done. By that logic, all Malec or Clace or Sizzy or whoever shippers would be demonized too, because I have seen all kinds of shippers engage in bad behavior in this fandom.
I and most people NEVER tag the videos or edits regarding Shumdario on twitter or instagram. Most Shumdarios do an effective job by keeping it away from the cast as much as possible. A handful of people ( mostly international fans who I don’t even know), that tagged Matthew or Harry in videos or edits ( who don’t send it to them directly by the way) is not going to cause an apocalypse. Stop projecting extreme bi/homophobia and discomfort onto Harry. Matthew and Harry are more mature than you think and people making Shumdario fanvideos on youtube is not going ruin their friendship, grow up please.  Most celebs do not care and it would take too far too long to dispel certain derogatory myths in this fandom. The anti agenda has escalated way too far. Most of the shippers are very passive and are not overboard at all. You are not going to bully the shippers out of existence with the spin, hate, lies, attacks, and accusations. People are not going to let persecution stop what they feel or fantasize about. It is sad that people are so deeply gas-lighted about this. It is truly unsettling how insecure some people are about Shumdario and what kind of microaggressions they are harboring but they tend to project that on the cast.
Matthew and Harry don’t give a flying eff about the shippers considering most of us are respectful/harmless. Matthew ships it himself.  I know this is for a fact but I can’t violate privacy as to how I know this. If only the antis know how much damage they have done and what kind of negative effect it is having. The antis are sending the message, that nothing remotely homoerotic is tolerated here whether it is fantasy or reality-based.  We would probably get more fanservice ( like with Domberto or Sherdario) if people were not constantly contriving drama after every single Shumdario interaction. Most celebs truly do not care. It is mostly a handful of jealous fangirls who want Harry or Matthew for themselves who cross the line into sending awful comments to Shelby or Esther ( they do not ship Shumdario and in fact, they hate Shumdario). Matthew and Harry are offended by “fans” who accuse them of being racist, misogynistic, or endorsing rape culture, Harry got trashed for posting about Climon one time, and they don’t like receiving insults from people. That is what they have an issue with. They wouldn’t like that a majority of shippers ( who are mostly innocent) are being constantly bullied on their supposed behalf.
Please stop with the abuse and the constant need to provoke drama by spreading accusations or constant distortions of situations to validate negative generalizations in order to justify bullying.
I am not even posting this on the main tags, just on the Shumdario tag. People need to learn about maturity and tolerance in this fandom. Most of the shippers are very low key yet we still have to be persecuted, slandered, and etc over literally nothing. Something relatively innocuous that goes in most fandoms with most celebs, got warped and perverted into something toxic in this fandom. There is a difference into monitoring something into making sure it does not go overboard versus vilifying/stigmatizing it fully. Yes, all of this triggers me a great deal. I know a lot of people have suffered a great deal due to the abuse that the antis constantly inflict. .
Shipping is an inherent feeling. It can be based on actual chemistry, UST, or the potential of a pairing...or it can be just pure pipe dream fantasy from fans. Bottom line, if you like the hypothetical idea of something, on some level, you ship it. People are allowed to express that with other fans within the appropriate fanspaces like tumblr ( which is respecting the 4th wall).
There is the more to the story here, but I can’t disclose it. I hope things play out in  a way where this fandom can learn what a big mistake it made, by choosing to formulate an anti-bandwagon mentality against something.

At VidCon, Influencers, Fans, And Brands Seemed Ready To Leave YouTube Behind
Jerod Harris / Getty Images
An attendee at 2019 VidCon on July 11 in Anaheim, California.
“How dark do you want to get,” YouTuber Lindsay Ellis asked the moderator of one of the first panels at VidCon, the flashy, annual digital video conference in Anaheim, California. VidCon may have once been known as a breathless celebration of all things digital video and all the fame and money that comes with it for creators, but in 2019, it was kicking off with a discussion led by the executive director for Uplift, an organization that provides resources for YouTube creators dealing with sexual violence, about how online video communities have changed over the years.
“It was fun,” said Ellis. “Now it’s like, OK, how do we protect ourselves from our audience?”
“How do we protect ourselves from our audience?”
VidCon celebrated its 10-year anniversary this week. Yet the palpable sadness hovering over Thursday’s panels revealed how heavily the internet’s problems now weigh on top video creators. Featured influencers spoke frankly about their struggles with mental health and the pressures of content creation at many points throughout the day. Panels devolved into group therapy sessions, as YouTubers commiserated over shared experiences with harassment and exploitation.
Jim Louderback, the CEO of VidCon, told BuzzFeed News that the conference doesn’t shy away from issues that matter for creators and attendees: harassment, mental health, and exploitation. “We’ll talk about it because it’s on people’s minds,” he said. He thinks that tough conversations that happen at VidCon can help create positive change on these platforms. “We spark change through these discussions,” he said.
As creators shared their frustration at YouTube’s lack of institutional support, marketers and brand managers seemed excited about what a YouTube-less future might look like. The platform has evolved into something far different from what it was when John Green and his brother Hank started VidCon 10 years ago.
YouTube’s role in the next chapter of online video is still taking shape, but a glimpse at VidCon’s standing room–only TikTok panel seemed portentous.

Another 2019 VidCon attendee.
For the uninitiated, it’s useful to think of VidCon as several different conferences happening simultaneously. For the thousands of mostly prepubescent fans and their beleaguered parent chaperones, it’s something akin to Comic-Con. There are booths to buy merch, lines to take selfies with their favorite YouTubers, food stalls, and concerts. For creators, it feels like a film festival, a place to network and set up future partnerships. For industry leaders and entrepreneurs, it’s a tech summit, where CEOs and strategists shuffle on and off various stages, trotting out data points and user metrics to dazzle each other.
These clashing realities intersect in strange and surreal ways. At a party hosted Wednesday night by digital entertainment company Tubefilter in northwest Anaheim, teenage attendees lined up to ride go-karts and internet-famous children picked at a table nearby lined with bowls of candy while midtier influencers mingled with executives at an open bar. At one point, the party converged around an Instagram-famous Pomeranian wearing a leather jacket and sunglasses. The dog’s owner was trying to yell out the dog’s Instagram handle over the sound of guests singing Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” on a karaoke machine on the other side of the room.
YouTube wasn’t an official partner of VidCon until 2013, and it wasn’t until 2014 that YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki spoke at the conference. In 2018, however, VidCon was purchased by Viacom. This year, YouTube is a sponsor. Cofounder Hank Green is still closely involved with it, but it is a part of Viacom Digital Studios. This identity crisis — is it a YouTube convention, is it a digital video conference, is it a Viacom showcase — was extremely noticeable this year, particularly in the conference’s choice of featured guests. YouTube declined to comment.
As featured VidCon guests throughout the day Thursday attempted to wrestle with a decade of YouTube, it seemed it was even harder to be optimistic about the platform’s future. It recently has come under fire for its inability to moderate anti-vax misinformation, harmful content, online harassment, white nationalism, conspiracy theories, and discrimination. It has been accused of promoting child exploitation. Its recommendation algorithm has been accused of spreading political radicalization.
YouTube, which launched in 2005, has split into different worlds. There’s YouTube that Google wants to exist, where YouTubers like Dan Howell, Rhett and Link, Hannah Hart, and David Dobrik can safely and responsibly mingle with brands and fans. And then there’s the YouTube that isn’t present at VidCon — the YouTube where creators like Jake Paul announce dubious marriages to other creators like Tana Mongeau, the YouTube where Jake’s brother Logan tases dead rats and attends flat Earth conventions, the YouTube where Shane Dawson accuses Chuck E. Cheese’s of reselling used pizza slices.
“They’re sending YouTubers that have lots of dead channels. They’re bringing in fidget spinners.”
The YouTubers people care about can’t be invited because they’re all out of control. And the safer creators they did invite are all traumatized. Daniel Keem, the massive influencer vlogger behind the 5 million-subscriber-strong YouTube gossip channel DramaAlert, spent the week around VidCon derisively tweeting about how irrelevant the conference is now.
“When VidCon sends its YouTubers, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending YouTubers that have lots of dead channels. They’re bringing in fidget spinners. They’re bringing in Hoverboards. They’re randoms,” Keem tweeted.
“These vidcon pics all over twitter have the same people that were cool in 2013 & 100% irrelevant now,” he went on to tweet. “Its the same people every year! VIDCON DOES NOT REP THE ACTUAL STARS OF THE PLATFORM!”
VidCon’s relationship with YouTube’s bigger, more unruly stars is complicated to say the least. In 2017, Logan Paul hid $3,000 around VidCon and turned the convention center into an almost-riot as fans scrambled to find the cash.
Last year, Tana Mongeau wasn’t invited as a featured creator and, feeling snubbed, decided to throw her own convention at a nearby hotel. It was an incredible failure. “TanaCon was the scariest and the worst experience of my life,” one fan told BuzzFeed News at the time.
The big YouTubers who did attend VidCon this year seemed more interested in probing the darkness of YouTube fame than celebrating a decade of it. Elle Mills, a YouTuber who had to take a break from the platform last year due to burnout after crossing 1 million subscribers, was especially candid about the pressures of online fame.
“Growing up I never had mental health problems, but last year on tour I had my first panic attack,” Mills said. “I couldn’t make another video without addressing it. I couldn’t just fake a smile.”
Onstage next to her was Dan Howell, a veteran YouTuber, who also took a yearlong hiatus before he recently returned with a video where he came out as gay. Howell spoke about how trapped he felt as a YouTube creator, churning out videos and unable to properly deal with his mental health.
“When you’re constantly being a YouTuber, you’re expected to keep doing things,” Howell said. “It’s like I couldn’t grow or change behind the scenes.”

What’s shining the brightest light on how tired both YouTube and YouTubers feel this year is VidCon’s hottest new thing: TikTok.
The short-form video platform, owned by Beijing-based artificial intelligence company ByteDance, has completely cannibalized VidCon this year. The app is responsible for both the rapper Lil Nas X’s record-shattering “Old Town Road,” as well as a record-shattering $5.7 million fine from the Federal Trade Commission over allegations that it illegally collected personal information from children under the age of 13.
TikTok has also been accused of facilitating sexual predation and exploitation. BuzzFeed News recently reported on a group of young users who created an ad hoc system of screenshot leaks and callout videos in an effort to out abusers and predators on the platform on their own terms.
Meaningful scandals and fines aside, TikTok was omnipresent at VidCon. The outside pavilion of the convention center quickly devolved into a TikTok playground, as tweens and teens recorded short videos with each other. There was a TikTok twin meetup. One kid with 6 million followers duct-taped a pair of sheet cakes to his feet to make a “walk a mile in these Louboutins” meme. At one point, a huge pack of 13-year-old girls chased a boy wearing a face mask through the crowd. The girls told BuzzFeed News that it was Chase Hudson, a 17-year-old TikToker with 2.8 million followers.
“It’s ironic. It’s ironic and iconic.”
When asked if TikTok was cooler than YouTube, though, the girls chasing Hudson said they didn’t see it as anything similar to YouTube.
“It’s ironic. It’s ironic and iconic,” one girl told BuzzFeed News. “It’s like a meme right now.”
Another group of 16-year-olds later in the day were complaining about how many TikTokers were at VidCon. “I guess that’s our future,” one girl said.
When asked the same question about which video platform is cooler, a 16-year-old told BuzzFeed News, “It’s cringey. What can you do with it?”
Ironic and cringey or not, there does seem to be a changing of the guard happening, and nowhere was this generational shift more evident than at the parties Thursday night. YouTube threw a huge, well-organized bash, complete with multiple open bars and hot dog, chicken finger, and taco stations. Guests walked to the dance floor through a tunnel displaying the platform’s greatest hits, like Rebecca Black’s “Friday” and the Cut’s “100 Years of Beauty.”
By contrast, TikTok’s extremely sought-after and secretive party was thrown at a bowling alley in a shopping center around the corner. Hundreds of teens jockeyed for a spot in line amid a fog of phone cameras and Juul smoke. It appeared to be already over capacity by the time it was officially supposed to be begin. Antsy kids in line watched TikToks the guests inside were posting. The same Instagram-famous Pomeranian from Wednesday night was there, this time in white sunglasses and a little sweater.
“YouTube is not going to fade away.”
And it’s not just the parties. TikTok’s panels Thursday were almost all standing room only. In a morning presentation about how to use TikTok to promote your brand, Andrea Okeke, a TikToker with 3 million followers who goes by DreaKnowsBest, chatted with Candice Beck, Chipotle’s senior manager of social and digital, about how much fun it was promoting Chipotle on her channel.
“Your audience will know if you’re promoting something you don’t use,” Okeke said. “I’m not going to promote something I don’t believe in.”
Beck gushed over how much success Chipotle has had recently on TikTok. The restaurant chain only has 18,000 followers at the moment, but it successfully activated a popular TikTok trend called the #ChipotleLidFlipChallenge.
VidCon’s CEO, Louderback, said that when it comes to which platforms get priority each year, he thinks of the conference as Switzerland. “YouTube is not going to fade away,” he said. “But I like that we have more choice on different platforms.”
TikTok’s general manager, Vanessa Pappas, took to one of the main stages later in the day to promote TikTok as both authentic and diverse — the unspoken conclusion is that these are two things YouTube is currently not.
“It just has a different aesthetic to anything else that’s out there,” Pappas said. “Every video is given a chance to succeed.”
Pappas stressed TikTok’s immersive “For You” page algorithm and how easy it is for users to participate in the app’s constantly updating trends and challenges.
“For the top creators for TikTok, the content that really performs well is being digitally native and real,” she said.
“I’m just so thankful I’m not sleeping in a treehouse anymore.”
For all the hype, TikTok remains its own conundrum. It is optimized for engagement; it learns what you like and delivers an endless stream of similar videos, often to very young audiences. TikTok’s last event of the day was a conversation with six of the app’s biggest stars — who looked like something closer to characters from The Fifth Element than your typical clean-cut vlogger — on one of VidCon’s largest stages. The crowd was outrageously young. The only people in the audience who looked like they were older than 14 were the parent chaperones.
“Just do what you love,” Lauren Godwin, a 19-year-old TikToker with 14 million fans told the audience. “Just find your niche on there.”
Another TikToker onstage, 23-year-old Chris Kerr Rio, makes videos with his 24-year-old girlfriend Sharla May under the name Our Fire, an account that has 4.9 million followers. Rio told a story about how before he became popular on the app, he had been kicked out of his house and living in May’s treehouse.
“I’m just so thankful I’m not sleeping in a treehouse anymore,” he said.
Jerod Harris / Getty Images
More 2019 VidCon attendees.
As TikTok’s legion of users energetically swarmed the convention outside, YouTube’s chief product officer, Neal Mohan, delivered a keynote announcing new monetization features for creators, like membership levels, new partners for YouTube’s merchandise program, and super stickers inside of super chat — features that won’t address the distress YouTubers spent the day agonizing over.
“I didn’t know I started a hate platform.”
At that early-morning panel on how online video communities have changed over the years, Tay Zonday, an early YouTuber famous for the “Chocolate Rain” song, railed against what he called YouTube’s disingenuous laissez-faire attitude. “All of these platforms try and avoid any sense of personal accountability,” Zonday said.
Fellow panelist Lindsay Ellis agreed, “This drives me crazy like, ‘oh no we don’t need human moderators, we need better automation.’”
“‘I didn’t know I started a hate platform,’” another panelist, veteran YouTuber Jarvis Johnson said. “That’s no longer an excuse.”
As the creators bewailed the damage on YouTube, teen TikTokers ran around outside, uploading more videos, innocently goofing around on an app they don’t have to worry about. For now.

Facebook vs Twitter: Which is Best for Your Brand?
Let’s face it, you know you need to promote your business on social media. In fact, around 2.56 billion global social media users join the ranks each day on mobile, creating an astronomical audience for companies of every shape and size. The question is, which social platform should you be spending your marketing moola with?
Facebook and Twitter are essentially the crème de la crème of social networks. These senior class channels have outranked sites like Google+ and Pinterest for decades, and their versatility makes them perfect for connecting with a broad audience. Though both platforms have seen their ups and downs lately, they remain the most popular choice for many marketers–and for good reason.
Twitter and Facebook are adaptable, innovative and ready to pivot to suit the needs of customers. What’s more, Sprout Social integrates with both!
So, if both channels are so great, how do you decide between Facebook vs. Twitter, and which one you want to use?
Facebook vs. Twitter: By the Numbers
If the information produced by the comScore Digital Future report in 2016 is anything to go by, then it’s tough to find a social media channel that can out-perform Facebook in terms of users.
As the grand-daddy of the social media age, Facebook has a lead that’s seemingly impossible to catch up with. At least, for the meanwhile. However, that doesn’t mean that Twitter hasn’t got value to offer up too. Let’s look at the stats:
Facebook Statistics:
75% of male internet users and 83% of female internet users are active on Facebook
22% of the world currently uses Facebook
Facebook had 2 billion monthly active users at of the end of 2017
Twitter Statistics:
81% of millennials check Twitter once a day
Twitter has 330 million monthly active users
3 billion Twitter accounts have been created
83% of the world’s leaders are on Twitter
Facebook vs. Twitter: Audience
Choosing the right channel for your company when it comes to Facebook vs Twitter isn’t just about finding the “best” platform, but one that allows you to connect with the right audience.
Facebook is easily the most active social media network, particularly when you consider it owns WhatsApp and Instagram. This unique channel appeals to a range of generations, who seem to be drawn to the idea of connecting with their family, keeping tabs on friends and making sure that they have access to their favorite brands too.
On Facebook, one of the fastest growing markets is seniors. Over recent years, the channel has become increasingly appealing to baby boomers, with around 41% of individuals between 65-74 years-old logging on with a Facebook account.
If anything, this is a testament to Facebook’s ease-of-use and accessibility. However, these statistics also indicate Facebook may no longer be the “trendy” platform of the day. Despite a drop in online youth, of course, stats still show that Facebook is leading the pack for overall audience penetration.
On the other hand, Twitter demographics show 23% of its users are between 30-49 years old, while 36% are between the ages of 18 and 29.
This fast-paced channel appeals more to younger customers. Despite its relatively small monthly user base, Twitter has another advantage for audience access. This platform isn’t just popular with the average consumer. Journalists, politicians and celebrities all frequently use it too. This means that Twitter is often the place to find trending news.
Do plenty of research to discover where your target customer spends their time, then use your data to determine whether you’re better suited to Facebook or Twitter.
Facebook vs. Twitter: Engagement
Engagement is the key to success on social media. According to one study from Forrester, for every one million Twitter followers, brands can expect about 300 interactions. On the other hand, for every million Facebook followers, there’s an average of 700 interactions.
Other studies suggest that Facebook users leave roughly 5 billion comments on brand pages every month.
Perhaps one of the most obvious advantages Facebook has over Twitter is that companies have more time to make an impact on their audience. Tweets can get wiped off a stream within a matter of minutes, meaning that brands have to constantly post just to get in front of the right people at the right time.
Another point worth noting is how “addictive” Facebook is according to statistics. In the graph above, showcasing how often Facebook users access their social apps during the day, you see that the average customer logs on at least eight times during a 24-hour period, compared to only five times for Twitter.
However, it’s worth noting that Twitter does face a common problem faced by many business owners. The fast-paced nature of this social platform helps companies to communicate with customers who are easily-distracted and overwhelmed by short attention spans.
In other words, it gives you a chance to hone your message into conversion-ready bite-sized chunks.
Facebook vs. Twitter: Functionality
Importantly, Facebook and Twitter aren’t necessarily meant for the same thing. Twitter is a fast-paced way for customers to discover new content and see what’s trending in their social world. Facebook, on the other hand, is about connecting with family and enjoying moments of deeper engagement.
Twitter is like an elevator pitch for your brand–a way of getting your point across quickly and connect yourself to important news topics. With “Live Events,” you promote your content to a wider audience and achieve some great social PR.
While Facebook is a great platform to use when you’re reaching out to customers, it’s much harder to get likes on a Facebook page than it is to earn a follower on Twitter. Companies with Facebook accounts often must work much harder to engage their audience. While Facebook does allow you to share more information than Twitter, it also requires a more in-depth marketing campaign.
One of the elements that both Twitter and Facebook have experimented with is video. As customers from almost every background shift toward visual content, video has become a great way for brands to connect with their followers.
Twitter purchased Periscope to stream live video to clients, helping brands to show off their authentic, transparent side. Facebook then followed up with a similar approach in the form of Facebook Live – one of the most popular streaming services in the world today.
Since it launched in 2015, Facebook Live has grown by over 330%.
According to statistics, Facebook users watch around 100 million hours of video each day. This means Facebook is now contending with YouTube for viewership. Knowing how your followers use their social channels could be the key to making sure you launch the right campaigns for engagement.
Facebook Vs Twitter: Advertising Opportunities
Finally, when it comes to social media advertising, both Twitter and Facebook make it easy to establish and track campaigns for your brand.
One of the biggest benefits of Facebook Advertising is that it offers targeted reach for customers. Narrow your search until you’re focusing attention on only the clients most likely to purchase your products and services.
This will help keep prices low for your paid campaigns. However, it’s worth noting that Facebook Ad prices are only going up. According to the 2017 Earnings Report delivered by Facebook, the average price per ad increased by 35% during 2017, while ad impressions only increased by 10%.
The popularity of Facebook means the space is more saturated. Companies need to try harder and spend more to get the attention of their audience. On the other hand, Twitter might not be as focused as Facebook when it comes to targeting, but it’s a lot less competitive.
With the right Twitter tools, you can use lead generation cards and other resources to get leads and stats for your campaigns faster.
With the power of Sprout Social and Simply Measured together, it’s easier to measure ad strategies to see what’s most shared publicly and privately. Our tools help brands gain a competitive advantage within your industry so you’re confident with your social media efforts. Give us a try today!
Unique Features of Facebook for Marketing
Aside from incredible targeting features, Facebook marketers can also tap into:
Pages to watch: This feature allows companies to keep track of competitor pages, which help you create a more compelling advertising strategy.
Apps analytics: This feature helps brands understand how people are using their Facebook app.
Facebook Messenger for Business: A more recent feature of Facebook advertising, this chat solution allows customers to ask questions, or send queries to companies for a quick response.
Detailed analytics: Under your “posts” tab, you can tap into the detailed analytics of your posts, audience, engagement levels and so on. This makes it easier to assess the success rate of each campaign.
Unique Features of Twitter for Marketing
While Twitter might not be quite as focused when it comes to Facebook marketing campaigns, it’s still a useful way to generate business leads. Some of the features available include:
“Go Live” buttons for Periscope: Like Facebook Live, you can simply click on the “Go Live” button when composing your tweets to broadcast your thoughts directly to Twitter users.
Twitter Cards: Gather emails and generate leads for your brand easier than ever. Also track your ROI from Twitter Ads and see your stats on each campaign.
Anti-harassment features: Make sure you’re building a strong reputation and generating trust with your audience with anti-harassment features intended to make users feel safer on the Twitter network.
If you’re not using a paid advertising campaign on Twitter or Facebook, then the best thing you can do is use a tool like Sprout Social for social media management to assess your performance.
This will ensure that you can see what kind of engagement your Tweets and Facebook posts are getting. Ideally, it might be helpful to start by posting a few messages on both Facebook and Twitter, so you can evaluate which one is giving your specific brand the best results.
Choosing the Right Channel for Social Media
Ultimately, it will be up to you to decide whether Facebook or Twitter is right for you, and your marketing campaigns. Just because Facebook has a wider reach doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best choice for every company. The fast-paced nature of Twitter, along with the fact that it appeals to world leaders, politicians, and journalists can make it ideal for organizations who want to stay ahead of the curve.
Both Twitter and Facebook deliver information and spread brand awareness in unique ways. While there may be some user crossover, each platform serves brands differently, which is why most companies prefer to use a combination of both channels in their social media marketing campaigns.
To determine which solution is right for you, experiment with a profile on Twitter and Facebook, test your results and try to find a healthy balance between each channel.

Melania Trump to hold first public event on cyberbullying

 (AP)
Melania Trump is hosting executives from major online and social media companies to discuss cyberbullying and internet safety, more than a year after saying that would be her issue as first lady.
The meeting Tuesday marks her first public event on the topic, a choice some observers have questioned given that her husband often berates people on Twitter.
Amazon, Snap, Facebook, Google and Twitter are among the companies that are expected to attend the meeting. The Internet Association said it will also be represented.
All the major technology companies have strict policies prohibiting harassment and other bullying behavior on their services, but primarily rely on users to report abuses and weed them out. They try to clearly spell out the kinds of remarks and other posts that won’t be tolerated in special sections such as one Facebook, the largest online social network, has set up. Instagram, a popular service among kids and young adults for sharing photos and videos, provides links to the U.S. government’s anti-bullying site and tips from a cyberbullying research center on one of its help pages.
But the efforts so far have fallen short, leading to rampant abuses that even some of the companies acknowledge have driven away or tormented portions of their audience.
It got so bad on Twitter, which has 68 million U.S. users, that the San Francisco company vowed last fall to crack down on hateful tweets. Among other things, Twitter adopted new policies aimed at protecting women who unknowingly or unwillingly had nude pictures of themselves distributed online — a common bullying tactic.
Yik Yak, another messaging app once popular among high school and college students, shut down last year partly because schools banned it following complaints about bullying and harassment.
Online bullying takes many shapes, but some of the most common tactics include posting embarrassing or salacious photos, making demeaning or cruel remarks under a photo or in a general post about someone, and sharing screenshots of what at least one person thought was a private text.
Harassment is widespread and extends beyond teenagers. A Pew Research Center poll last year found 41 percent of U.S. adults believed they had been harassed online.
The popularity of and volume of content on major social media sites presents a huge challenge in policing what is being shared. Facebook, for instance, has 2.1 billion worldwide users who collectively share billions of posts on their pages daily.  More than 300 hours of video is uploaded to Google’s YouTube site every minute.
The companies are also constantly struggling to balance the desire to prevent harassment and other abuses and maintain a commitment to freedom of expression.
In some cases, they see harassment and still look the other way. For instance, some of President Trump’s more vitriolic tweets have openly mocked and denigrated people, prompting calls for Twitter to shut down his account and ban him from its service. But Twitter has declined, maintaining the news value of the president’s tweets eclipse complaints about him being a bully.
There is no federal law that applies to bullying. State laws vary, ranging from requiring public schools to have a bullying policy to requiring anonymous reporting systems, said Sameer Hinduja, co-director of the Cyberbullying Research Center and professor of criminology at Florida Atlantic University. The federal government can best help by giving schools more tools and money to provide programs, Hinduja said.
Mrs. Trump announced in a speech near the end of the 2016 presidential campaign that her priority as first lady would be to fight cyberbullying. A native of Slovenia, she at the time lamented a U.S. culture that she said had grown “too mean and too rough.” It was a curious speech for a woman whose husband uses Twitter to dismiss people as losers and taunt them with unflattering nicknames.
The mother of a 12-year-old son, the first lady has made child well-being her focus in the White House, including an unexpected interest in how the opioid crisis is affecting youngsters.
She has visited hospitals and care centers to see the effects first hand, and has embraced parents whose children died from drug overdoses. She accompanied the president to New Hampshire on Monday as he discussed a three-pronged effort to combat drug addiction, including applying the death penalty against those caught trafficking highly addictive substances.
Mrs. Trump recently asked the spouses of U.S. governors to help promote values such as encouragement, kindness, compassion and respect in children. She has also spoken about limiting the amount of time children spend online, and helping them understand the content they are exposed to.

Leave Queer People Alone
Sidebar: Chris Crocker is known to fluctuate in pronoun usage, so to respect this, I will be alternating between he/him and they/them pronouns.
Me At the Zoo is a documentary film about the social media fame of Chris Crocker and how he, as a gay trans person deals with the repercussions of it. It is a jarring, shocking film that shows just how dangerous social media can be, especially towards minority groups such as the LGBTQIA+ community (specifically gay and trans people). Chris Crocker gained popularity as a YouTube artist with a passion for Brittany Spears and being their true self. Unfortunately, as Brittany’s life started to spiral out of control (from her experiences with social media and fame), Chris’ followed suit. He gained his fifteen seconds of fame and started to receive constant harassment online and death threats. This caused him to go into hiding for a while out of the fear that he may be harmed or killed in the process of all of this. Chris Crocker is a perfect example of what it means to be a Queer person in today’s world of social media and fame. Queer people are constantly targeted on social media and face the risk of death/death threats, harassment, and mental health issues.
When it comes to the risk of death threats, Queer people are disproportionately targeted. According to TSER (Trans Student Educational Resources), 1 in 12 trans women are murdered and this number rises to 1 in 8 for trans women of color. According to the NCAVP (National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs)’s Mid-Year Report for 2017, they report 36 hate violence related homicides of LGBTQ and HIV-affected people, which is the highest number ever recorded by the NCAVP. With these statistics in mind, it can seem very daunting to live life as a Queer individual. With social media added into the equation, things get even more dangerous. Heterosexism runs rampant on social media, and as Queer people continue to increasingly use social media, they run the risk of putting themselves in harm’s way.
Queer people are also disproportionately harassed; according to TSER, 58.7% of gender non-conforming students experienced verbal harassment in the year the survey was conducted because of their gender expression compared to 29% of their peers. 49% of trans people also reported physical abuse in a 2007 study done by TSER. Gay and Trans people also face high rates of workplace discrimination and harassment on top of all of this. As we look at the teenage life of Chris Crocker in Me At the Zoo, we see the harassment and discrimination they face constantly for being a gay trans youth. They even decide to be home-schooled instead of going to public school, for the terrifying reason of “I’m gonna get killed”. Queer people such as Chris Crocker have to deal with constant harassment and this does not bode well for their mental health. The video below talks about this:
youtube
As we can see from this video, Queer people not only face the risk of murder or injury, they also face the risk of poor mental health and substance abuse as well. According to AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention)-Williams Institute, 41% of trans people have attempted suicide which vastly exceeds the 4.6 percent of the overall U.S. population who report a lifetime suicide attempt. This number is still high for lesbian, gay, and bisexual adults who report ever attempting suicide, coming in at 10-20 percent. From these statistics, we can obviously see that Queer people disproportionately commit suicide and this stems from the harassment and discrimination we see all over social media and in real life.
I argue that Me at the Zoo highlights important issues about the struggles of Queer people and Queer youth as they navigate the social atmosphere we have today with social media outlets such as Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram. It touches on the harassment and discrimination they face and leaves us with a jarring feeling of helplessness as we come to realize how toxic social media is when heterosexism constantly pollutes it. If we want to help Queer people feel safer on social media, we must talk about these issues and talk about the consequences of social media. Social media is good for the world, but it must be good for everyone. Everyone.

So Another birthday has gone by and as sad as I was because I am getting older and it feels like I have not accomplished anything and also because the need to want to leave this earth will never be met, it is funny how these people act about that. I never understood why people got shamed for not wanting to be on this planet, especially if their mental health isn’t improving, and we encourage people to live a happy life and be happy. These public figures, especially promote it, while also working in a system that helps fuck over people’s heads and set out the traps for people to fall into, so you want people who feel miserable to be here, but when they act the way they do because of the illness they have, you will put them down constantly? Or create situations where it isn’t really necessary to be here on this planet.
I never understood it, because this past birthday wasn’t as bad as the previous years. Not that anything happened. Like I posted on instagram, the highlight of this pathetic day was getting balloons flowing digitally on my twitter profile page. It is sad because throughout summer, every year for the past several years I have always thought the beginning would be a kick off and then by the time my birthday comes around, maybe they will have compassion and actually reveal what has been done or that I can be free now, but then when the birthday arrives, and passes it becomes clear that nothing is happening and Summer is going to be over soon. It is a sad realization that this will go on, and the only thing I can live off of is being messaged on face book from people I don’t even really know, while very few people I personally know, wish me it. I think I handled it better than most years, because I set it in my head that nothing will happen and yelled at myself not to expect anything because I make that mistake. Sure I still cried at the realization of how pathetic all of this is.
I guess they thought they were rewarding me when they allowed Benjy Bronk to wish me a happy birthday. And I wonder if that will get him in trouble from the show, or did Howard actually show he has some kind of soul left and allowed Benjy to wish me one so it could make up for the torture he has put me through the last several years, where he associates someone with certain perception with key words to be used in the negative way. For all I know beneath the surface he could have done a lot for me, but he sure as hell made it seem like he couldn’t care less after the years I have given him, and even not allowing me to leave by getting me banned from Artie’s show for a bit in 2013 so I was forced back into calling him. But guess what guys? Benjy Bronk wished me a happy birthday. No disrespect to Benjy, and I apologize, if you are reading, because most people are, for cussing you out in the message on twitter, but it just felt like it was just some type of sorry attempt of remorse, because if Howard didn’t allow it, it wouldn’t have happened in any circumstance, no matter how much he pretends he doesn’t have control of people when he clearly does.
I don’t get why you would keep someone here under their will. It is not even that they can say I am mentally ill, they put so much negative stigma around my name and then I feed into it by lashing back out and being completely irrational while still trying to be entertaining because isn’t that what’s important? The fans entertainment value, when they can’t get a satisfactory level from the King of All Media. They can see what I write in my personal journals and without making it too obvious, they will ask me about certain things to trigger me. It just shows that if these are people I know, they aren’t just satisfied with having it all behind the scenes, and getting to go to different festivals, vacations, sporting events, cottage trips, all behind my back and made to seem less glamorous but still need me to cosign them and not for genuine reasons, because they know how the future is going to play out and it seems like they are trying to get what they can before something is established, whether its in my favor or not.
It feels like it a constant game of politics, I don’t feel complete genuine aura around wherever I am. I don’t make it easy but I am tired of trying to be nice, while everyone makes me go through hoops and constantly test out my opinion. I am so irrelevant that they still need me. Isn’t it good enough that you get to hang out with industry type or enlightened minds that you have politicked with? And you still want me to be here. I don’t get why the local secrecy, why not just let me leave, it’s like they hate what I write, so now they have concocted a plan where something has to be established and then be taken from me as they watch me be dismantled while I see their rise. If that is the case then I would prefer not to see the politics play out, it already disturbs me how many people from my past who used to be anti system, not want a part of it and have compromised some of their beliefs because they are a part of some type of elite or associated with them. Just that thought is disturbing, and it makes me feel fearful of the future. I have nothing left to fight back with.
I will always be second fiddle to people I know. I am a stranger to people I used to consider my second family and even though it seems peaceful, there is still tension, animosity, and awkwardness that just creeps up on the mood, and I don’t think I can never let go of these feelings. I am not writing this for people to feel sorry for me, because these people at the top don’t care about anything other than their agenda, or maybe this is another test. I don’t know what to do anymore. It feels pointless. They keep sending trolls to put false hope into me, because I suspect they are people with fake accounts, but they will keep doing it and nothing ever happens. Why would you try to get my hopes up like that, and because they are aware of how mentally ill I am, they do it on purpose like they want my mood to be set on high so they can rejoice when I hit the lows.
It is a sad state of affairs how much they have tried to fuck with my head. You could kill me, and then play around with the body if you really have some type of fetish for fucking with me. It would be a win-win really, I would be gone, and you get to display amongst your private friends that you guys can still mess with me and make me a guinea pig. Nope, it is more fun to fuck with someone with mental illness, because you cowards have the luxury of hiding it while pretending to be nice people in front of your fan base. You wonder why people in your industry booze themselves to death or overdose, or even commit violent acts and then chastise it when the vulture set out the traps, and we pretend we are focusing on recovering and getting help, when the help should come in the form of exposing why these people turn to this life style while you program it in television and movies, or even documentaries how the lifestyle comes for the sake of just partying and not giving a fuck. It’s because they have probably seen some fucked up shit and now they need to cope with it, while you pay people to make memes or troll comment sections to make light of someone going through shit, and say its for the sake of fucking around and being funny. Let’s reverse it on all of you fragile dick heads, who love doing that and adding to someone’s mental illness.
It just continues to grow and manifest and I feel they have amplified it so much the past year that they truly don’t care about me or will they ever apologize for what they have partaken in. I get punished because I didn’t want to have a significant other who won’t love or even care about me, only because she may need security in her life and I guess if I want to get to the next level, I sacrifice it and risk of taking my mental illness out on whoever. I show that I don’t want to have constant sex and spreading diseases like a lot of these industry types have done, and I am labeled the bad guy because I would never want to put my mental illness on someone. You are a pathetic loser if you are alone and have no kids. So either situation it is set up for me to be a failure. I hope all of you are proud, even these blogs or periscopes or the constant lashing out in the form of tweets will be enough to make these people realize what they have done is wrong, they don’t feel remorse and if they do, and these things make them feel slightly bad, they will take that anger out on me and still fuck with me because they hate that I am going after their fragile state of mind. These people can’t handle being tortured the way I have been, they want to harass me with fake accounts, but if anything good happens to me, they will want to be a part of it and not have to take the mental abuse I had to take because I was chosen to be exploited by people in the industry, and people who I considered my loved ones.
They know what I write in my personal journals so now they will continue to capitalize on it. Most of the time, I write knowing that people are monitoring it and to test how they will act around me or what questions will be asked. I will never trust these people ever. I don’t want to be alive to see what my loved ones have turned into. They have become everything I hate about the superficial world and it makes me sick. It will continue. These blogs are essentially pointless, because the same shit will continue and I am not strong enough to change it. These people will call out phoniness in the industry but still hype up someone like Stern who has done his fair share of dirty work to fuck with people and stay at the top while having his name criticized within limits. Now you can play the “He is irrelevant” card so you cannot criticize him for what he contributed into the culture and how he poured in his poison into the water supply. That shit is taboo to you, because most of you only go after targets that are actually safe.
So please this is a plea to take me away from here. You know people I know don’t really want me here and they despise me so why even put me through this any longer. I will never have love for anyone ever again. These blogs are getting repetitive and boring. I just am begging to leave this place. I won’t do it on my own because that is what they want, they want to push me to attempt something, You guys are the big, tough individuals, you guys do it and you guys will be cheered because no one really likes me anyways.
You rather troll for the system and fuck with people’s mental health. Then have the audacity to scream censorship and safe spaces when you bitches need the safe spaces because you can’t deal with your fragile minds being exposed so you organize massive troll accounts to make it seem favorable for your side. You guys are the ones who are pathetic. I know this will anger a lot of you because I hit deep with how I can analyze how you guys operate, even though you are all faceless when you are online.
You will read it and be angry about it. Then take it out on me because the real threats are too scary for you to call out. You want to be connected with industry type for your measly perks and rewards and having association with people in the industry rather than giving a fuck about human life and how people are suffering because of the people you serve. I hope it makes you happy, most of you are soulless individuals who were picked because you are just mentally ill and instead of analyzing your situation, you would rather bombard comment sections with your racist, homophobic, misogynist behavior and then pretend you are a feminist, when you are only doing it to get laid from chicks in the industry. These same feminists would never call out Stern on the stuff he has made people do behind the scenes. You won’t go there, and I am supposed to respect your movement?
