all these hybrids hcs are making me feel things so uh,, * slides dog Whitney under the table *whitney really bite off more than he can chew. he just thought it would be fun to use these weired potions on ppl -pc- when he sneak in the compound. he got caught red handed, then someone wearing a lab coat decided to give him a taste of his own medicine. now he’s stuck in this stupid dog form, hiding under cars to avoid mean people kicking him.
Tumblr media
No kick puppy Whit 😢
I can't decide on his breed. He'd be like, medium-sized. A good hugging size. A dog who would sit in your lap even though they are far too big to be a lap dog. So maybe a Lab or Golden Retriever? But it would be so cute if he was a Pomeranian or Corgi. Oh! Or a Golden Doodle :3
Whitney has always been on the more vain side. Looking like a filthy mutt is almost a form of torture. He's not sure what to do. He doesn't want anyone to see him. He doesn't want anyone to look at him with pity in their eyes, even if they don't know that he's not really a dog. Fuck, it might be even worse if they did know.
He might have been able to hide forever if a storm didn't sweep in. Normally, Whitney loves the rain, loves storms and the chaos they can bring. But it's different as a dog. Everything is more intense, he can feel the thunder in his bones, and, no matter how hard he tries, he can't stop shivering.
He's not entirely sure how he ends up at the orphanage, only following the animal instinct to be somewhere safe that grows stronger in him as he grows increasingly exhausted.
And you find him. This filthy, wet, miserable-looking dog who you smuggle into the orphanage and give a warm bath. He can hardly stay awake as you dry him off, worn out from the restless nights on the street.
Sleeps in your bed. Does not matter what you want. You got him in here and he's not leaving. He's a dog right now but he still owns you, even if you don't know it.
Most demanding dog in the world, now that you have him. You think maybe he was abandoned by some rich fucks with how entitled he acts.
It's maddening being this close to you all the time and not being able to do anything. He can smell when you're aroused, follows you to the bathroom, and guards the door while you sigh out his name when touching yourself in the bathtub. He never noticed how often you would cry before, and not because of him. You come home so often with tears on your face and the fluids of strangers on you that he can't stop the growl that builds in him. Starts barging out of your room to walk you to and from school, snapping at strangers who get close to you.
Turns back into a human and immediately pins you under him. Hey, you took care of him when he was a dog, right? So you'll take care of him now, won't you? Impales you on his knot, whining in your ear at the new sensation and tail wagging at mach speed. He won't say thank you, won't tell you how he missed you. All he does is growl about making you his bitch.
Don't point out how he's trying to get as close to you as possible, pressing his face into your neck and keeping you fully flush against him even though it's been well over an hour, more than long enough for his knot to go down.

THE ACADEMY TO HONOR MICHAEL J. FOX, EUZHAN PALCY, DIANE WARREN AND PETER WEIR WITH OSCARS® AT GOVERNORS AWARDS IN NOVEMBER
Tumblr media
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today that its Board of Governors voted to present Honorary Awards to Euzhan Palcy, Diane Warren and Peter Weir, and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award to Michael J. Fox.  The four Oscar® statuettes will be presented at the Academy’s 13th Governors Awards on Saturday, November 19, 2022, in Los Angeles.
“The Academy’s Board of Governors is honored to recognize four individuals who have made indelible contributions to cinema and the world at large,” said Academy President David Rubin.  “Michael J. Fox’s tireless advocacy of research on Parkinson’s disease alongside his boundless optimism exemplifies the impact of one person in changing the future for millions.  Euzhan Palcy is a pioneering filmmaker whose groundbreaking significance in international cinema is cemented in film history.  Diane Warren’s music and lyrics have magnified the emotional impact of countless motion pictures and inspired generations of musical artists.  Peter Weir is a director of consummate skill and artistry whose work reminds us of the power of film to reveal the full range of human experience.”
Fox gained fame playing Alex P. Keaton on the sitcom “Family Ties.”  His hit films include “Back to the Future,” “The Secret of My Success,” “Casualties of War,” “Doc Hollywood” and “The American President.”  He returned to television in his award-winning lead role on “Spin City,” followed by guest appearances in series including “Rescue Me,” “The Good Wife” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”  His many awards include five Emmys, four Golden Globes, one Grammy, two Screen Actors Guild awards, a People’s Choice award, and GQ Man of the Year.  In 2000, he launched the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, which is now the leading Parkinson’s organization in the world.  He is the author of four New York Times bestselling books: Lucky Man, Always Looking Up, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Future and No Time Like the Future: An Optimist Considers Mortality.  Fox is the subject of a documentary from Oscar-winning filmmaker Davis Guggenheim, which is currently in production.

        Euzhan Palcy
Palcy is a writer, director and producer born in Martinique in the French West Indies. Her first feature film, “Sugar Cane Alley,” won the Silver Lion at the 1983 Venice Film Festival, a first for a Black director.  It went on to win a César Award for Best First Work, the first César won by a woman director and by a Black filmmaker.  She continued her journey with “A Dry White Season” (1989), a drama made at the height of apartheid, becoming the first Black woman to direct a film for a major Hollywood studio and guiding Marlon Brando to his last Oscar nomination. Her films also include the musical fairytale “Siméon.”  Palcy’s work has been an inspiration to filmmakers, contemporary artists and novelists.
Warren is one of the most prolific contemporary songwriters and has written original songs for more than 100 films.  She has earned 13 Oscar nominations in the Original Song category, starting in 1987 and within each of the past five decades, for songs including “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,” “Because You Loved Me,” “How Do I Live,” “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,” “Til It Happens To You” and “Stand Up for Something.”  She has collaborated with such prominent music artists as Beyoncé, Cher, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson, Lady Gaga, John Legend, Reba McEntire and Carlos Santana.
A leading figure in the Australian New Wave film movement in the 1970s, Weir emerged as a visionary filmmaker with “Picnic at Hanging Rock” and “The Last Wave.”  He earned Oscar nominations for Directing for “Witness,” “Dead Poets Society,” “The Truman Show” and “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World,” for which he also received a Best Picture nomination, and earned a Writing nomination for “Green Card.”  His other notable films include “The Way Back,” “Fearless,” “The Mosquito Coast,” “The Year of Living Dangerously” and “Gallipoli.”
The Honorary Award, an Oscar statuette, is given “to honor extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences, or for outstanding service to the Academy.”
The Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, also an Oscar statuette, is given “to an individual in the motion picture arts and sciences whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry.”
The 13th Governors Awards is proudly supported by Rolex, the Exclusive Watch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The Civil Dead Review
The Civil Dead is a new film directed by Clay Tatum also written by and starring Tatum and Whitmer Thomas. It’s the second film for the director. It’s a little weird but in a good way. The twist is a bit interesting in how it’s used in the film. It’s premiering at Slamdance 2022. Tatum plays a sad sack of a man named Clay who is a photographer who’s got a wife Whitney (Whitney Weir). When she…

Interview with Jessie Wagner
We had the pleasure of interviewing Jessie Wagner over Zoom video!
It’s been a long journey to center stage for Jessie Wagner. Having gained her greatest exposure to date by singing songs everyone knows the words to, on some of the world’s biggest stages, it’s only now, through sharing her own triumphs and pain, that the spotlight is shining directly on her at last.
After logging thousands of miles as an in-demand vocalist on tour with Lenny Kravitz, Chic, Duran Duran, Kid Rock and most recently Little Steven and The Disciples Of Soul, Jessie Wagner reveals a very personal collection of songs with Shoes Droppin’, her debut solo album for Wicked Cool Records.
Displaying an impressive range encompassing bluesy R&B, neo-soul, acoustic balladry and rock a la John Mayer’s more confessional side, Shoes maintains a unified sound rooted in ’60s and ’70s style production. The songs trace times of darkness and redemption for the Norfolk, Virginia native, now based in New York City, who also fronts the rock/soul band Army of the Underdog.
“’Shoes Droppin’’ was the song I wrote when I was at my lowest point,” Jessie says of the stomping, bluesy title track which opens the album. “My ex went into cardiac arrest and almost died. He spent the next couple of years fighting to regain a semblance of his former existence, and because of that, my life was arrested in a strange way. I thought I’d have to give up my music career. I fought my way back from that, and ‘Shoes Droppin’’ is a testament to losing and regaining your faith in what is possible.”
Recorded during downtime from the Little Steven world tour, the album was produced by drummer Dave Diamond (Bob Weir, Derek Trucks) with engineer Chris Laybourne. Seasoned soul guitarist Sherrod Barnes has the most co-writes with six; he’s previously written for or with Beyoncé, Angie Stone and Ashanti as well as recording with Whitney Houston, Roberta Flack and Queen Latifah. The album’s striking horn arrangements are by longtime Little Steven cohort Eddie Manion, who’s also worked with Bob Dylan, Diana Ross and Darlene Love.
Wagner never expected singing in Stevie Van Zandt’s band would lead to being signed to his label for her own work. “When Stevie said he thought I was a real artist, I could’ve cried.” Jessie recalls. “After fighting to be heard in this industry for so long, it means so much for someone of his stature to say your voice is unique and needs to be heard.” Stevie says, “Her music is eclectic and unique and impossible to categorize, which makes her the perfect Wicked Cool artist.”
“I started the year with a record deal, and then shortly after, the world fell apart in so many ways,” Jessie comments on the COVID-19 pandemic. “I’m happy that I have this album to look forward to. It gives me some purpose and determination.
“This album really addresses every aspect of me as an artist. I don’t settle well in any box. I’ve hinted at that with my rock band Army of the Underdog. But this really shows my versatility – or my schizophrenia! I like that It’s honest and playful, with touches of hopelessness, but also the idea of redemption and faith.”
After singing for so many legends, it was a special treat to arrange and sing both leads and harmonies for herself. “That’s something I love doing. After talking to Dave [Diamond] about how I thought ‘What You Get’ sounded like a Paul Simon song, I asked a friend how to say ‘This is me’ in Swahili and it sounded so beautiful. Then I had to figure out how to sing it and make it fit with the song.”
The sassy soul of “Over And Over” already conquered satellite radio, to be followed in August by the girl group vibes of “End Of Time.” “Jorgen Kjaer sent me a piano idea and it made me want to write an Amy Winehouse type song.”
Future single “My Darlin’, My Dear” has a slow burn kind of feel. “I had Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings in mind. It was this person begging to be recognized for her worth, and it needed to be bluesy and gritty.” Another projected single, “Passin’ Me By,” is propelled by those crucial Manion-arranged horns.
Pandemic conditions upended Jessie’s plans to tour on her own name this year. “That will be the dream realized,” Jessie says of the day when that will happen. In the meantime she’s doing live streaming shows and putting together several music videos and lyric videos within the constraints of social distancing.
The latest Wicked Cool release distributed by The Orchard, Shoes Droppin’ is the next gem from the label whose 2020 slate also includes new music from Jesse Malin, WYLDLIFE, Ryan Hamilton & The Harlequin Ghosts, The Empty Hearts and Kurt Baker.

Clive Davis Doc Coming to Apple Music Oct. 3
To Aretha Franklin, he’s “the greatest record man of all time.
Bob Weir said, "he had a reputation for having a golden ear.”
And Barry Manilow says Clive Davis “is always right.”
These recording artists are speaking in the first trailer for “Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of our Lives.” The documentary on the 85-year-old starmaker and his career with the Columbia, Arista and J record companies will have a limited run in theaters starting Sept. 27 and comes to Apple Music beginning on Oct 3.
“Clive really has a weakness for artists,” Patti Smith says. “It all stems from that authentic love of music.”
The initial two-and-one-half-minute trailer features contemporary and archival footage with the aforementioned plus Carlos Santana, Aerosmith, Puff Daddy, Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen, Miles Davis, Babyface, Alecia Keys, Simon & Garfunkel, Notorious B.I.G., Kenny G. and Whitney Houston, among others.
“You either got it, or you don’t have it,” Davis says of Houston, who dominates the clip and is his most-famous discovery.
“She’s got it.”

CANTLON: RYAN LINDGREN PROFILE AND LATEST NEWS
Tumblr media
BY: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings CROMWELL, CT - It’s been a rollercoaster of a first season for Hartford Wolf Pack rookie defenseman, Ryan Lindgren. His play has earned him a passing grade for his effort, despite not going to the postseason for a second straight season A majority of Lindgren's season was spent partnered with John Gilmour as the Wolf Pack’s top defensive duo. The expectation for the remainder of the season is that there will be new combinations tried at both the forward and defensive positions.  Lindgren played with Brandon Crawley last weekend. “It was a lot of fun playing with John, and we also got along well off the ice too. I'm happy for him to get a recall. He’s a heck of a hockey player. I played most of the year with him, with the exception of a few games. He's such an easy guy to play with, just give him the puck, and he’s such a good skater, you let him fly. "Now we're all going to have to make changes and adjustments with so many new faces,” said Lindgren. Lindgren is acutely aware of what coming into a locker room at the end of a tough, and a difficult season can be like for a player. “I came here last year for the last ten games, so I know what it's like when you’re the new face and everything is new to you. It’s a very exciting time for them to start playing (pro hockey). It’s still a big time for myself and all the other players to show management what you got. We've got to make sure nobody is taking any nights off. It’s an important final ten games for everybody here.” Lindgren had one advantage last year that helped in in his transition. His former college teammate, Vinni Lettieri, who was just recalled to the Rangers, was there to greet him last spring. “I went through the same thing they did in coming from college. It's just a different lifestyle going from class and knowing all your buddies to a place where you really don’t know anyone. To go from the structure of going to classes to where you go to practice in the morning and then the rest of the day is yours, it's a lot different as the hockey is different from the college game.” The Lettieri factor was big for him. “I was very lucky to have Vinni here when I got here, of course, I knew him from playing at (University of) Minnesota, so I was able to move in with him and he’s a guy who was always on the move, on and off the ice,” Lindgren said with a laugh. “He had family come in and always had something going on. I was very lucky to just not to sit in a hotel by myself, doing things with him or cooking meals at home. I was very fortunate.” Lindgren’s game is a physical, grind-it-out style that is a throwback to the players of 10-15 years ago. At that time, having a physical rearguard would be prized, but in today’s game, defensemen are more like defensive backs in football. Their hands are tied in how to defend against the opposing forward in their own end. “When I was playing for the US at the World Juniors with coach Bob Motzko (now the head coach at the University of Minnesota). He used to say to play as close to the line as you can. To crossover is a huge thing. I like to play a physical style. I do trash talk a bit, and run my mouth,” Lindgren said with a wry smile and wink. ”But you have to be careful not to carry it too far. In general, you have to stay focused on your game, so you don’t hurt the team with bad or ill-timed penalties. So that’s the game I bring and that’s not going to change, you just have to be smart to know when the right time is.” The first year has seen Lindgren’s potential tempered with reality. It was a season of ups-and-downs for the Wolf Pack as a team and individually. He now sports an "A" with Rob O’Gara out for the past 21 games since early February with a lower-body injury. “I have been happy about it there a very good group of guys here and I got time in New York which of course very special,” said Lindgren. The Second year pro was originally drafted by Boston, whose rights were acquired in the Rick Nash deal last spring “I have learned a lot in my time here. (Pack Head Coach) Keith (McCambridge) and (Assistant Coach) Joe (Mormina) have been huge for me in getting to learn the pro game, and the call-up, of course, to the Rangers was something else. I was fairly consistent for the year and the Rangers seem happy with me,” The season, however, boils down to one bad stretch, a ten game losing streak that ran from mid-January to mid-February just after the trade of then, team captain, Cole Schneider. “We were right in contention (three points out of fourth place) and we lost ten in a row and it's hard to make that up and others were winning (Hershey Bears) and next thing you know we fell out of it (playoff contention). It’s a very tough time of the year. Everybody is playing for a playoff spot and you're not. "We let up at that time and this is where we're at. Losing Schneids was tough, but we didn’t play as well as we should have.” The Checkers with a 44-15-7-1 record (96 points) are 31 points ahead of the Wolf Pack. They clinched a playoff berth last weekend by sweeping the Pack in a pair of games. Syracuse has also clinched a playoff berth last weekend as they lead the North Division. The Pack takes on the Checkers for a third straight game on Friday night at the XL Center at 7:15 pm which will be the last meeting with the Checkers this year. “They are the league’s best team. We got a lot of new faces, so it's going to be a big test for us if we play well,” said Lindgren last weekend as they departed for North Carolina. NOTES: No week is complete without some roster moves. Greg Chase, the nephew of former Hartford Whaler, Kelly Chase, had a two-goal game for the Maine Mariners (ECHL) against the Worcester Railers including an OT winner. He was signed to a PTO by Hartford while Dean Melanson was returned to the Mariners. Former UCONN player Karl El-Mir was released by Providence from his ATO deal without having played a game. Michael Doherty (Yale) was released by the Bruins too and sent back to Manchester (ECHL). A slew of El-Mir’s Hockey East opponents have all signed pro deals this week. Boston College saw Michael Kim and Chris Brown both sign with Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL). Casey Fitzgerald (Buffalo-NHL/Rochester-AHL) and goalie Joseph Woll sign with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) and a report from TSN’s Bob McKenzie says that freshmen, Oliver Wahlstrom, has told BC he will turn professional and is working on a deal with the New York Islanders and may wind up with the playoff-bound Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Woll’s departure will allow Darien’s Spencer Knight (US National Development Team) and one-time Avon Old Farms product to head to BC. He will likely be a first or second round pick in this upcoming summer’s NHL Draft in Vancouver. Boston University, saw top-end defenseman, junior, Dante Fabbro sign with Nashville. Ridgefield native, Chad Krys, sign an ATO deal with Rockford (AHL). Goalie, Jake Oettinger (Texas-AHL), Bobo Carpenter (Islanders) and, a surprise freshman, Joel Farabee (Flyers) have all left. A total of 27 Hockey East players have signed pro deals so far. There has been 105 Division I players and 118 college players in total have all signed North American/European pro deals. Matthew McGroarty (Westport/Brunswick Prep) has made an oral commit to Quinnipiac University (ECACHL) in 2021-22. Congrats to the state high school hockey champions. Early in March in the NEPSAC prep school boys tournament at St. Anselm College in Manchester, Kent School won the large Division title beating Cushing Academy 2-1. Kent grads include current Rangers head coach, David Quinn, and current Ranger and ex-Wolf Pack, Boo Nieves. In the Open Division, Salisbury Prep lost in the finals to Kimball Union 4-3. Salisbury features Thomas Richter (Greenwich), the son of the Rangers all-time great goalie, who is a Union College (ECACHL) commit 2020-21. In the public school tournament held at Yale University, in Division I Fairfield Prep captured their 17th Division I title (one Division II title in their first year as a varsity program) in the fifth championship meeting between ND-West Haven. They won by the score of 5-2. Mason Whitney and Thomas Quinn had a goal and an assist apiece to pace the Jesuits win. The final four for the first time in Division I history featured all four teams from parochial schools. In Division II, the Branford Hornets shutout Glastonbury 2-0 to capture the first title as David Engstrom’s goal and assist and Jared Yakimoff’s 20 saves paced the title win. It was Branford’s first title since 1988 when they beat Shepaug Valley (Washington, CT) by the score of 5-3 and only the third championship final in the history of the program. In Division III, the co-op program Lyman Hall/Haddam-Killingworth/Coginchaug knocked off the other Wallingford school, Sheehan, in the Battle of Wallingford by the count of 6-2 for their first ever hockey title. Senior Kyle Roberts had two goals and an assist and nine shots on goal and sophomore Aidan Weir’s tallied two goals on two shots, including what became the game-winner help the Trojans victory. The University of Wisconsin won the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four this past weekend in Hamden at Quinnipiac University with a 2-0 shutout win over Minnesota for their 5th national title. Loren Gabel of Clarkson (ECACHL-W) won the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, the Hobey Baker Award for women’s hockey. The Calgary Inferno captured the CWHL (Canadian Women’s Hockey league) championship shutting out the Les Canadiennes of Montreal, 2-0 at the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, home of the AHL Toronto Marlies. CT Jr. Rangers forward, Jay de Ruiter, who played for the Netherlands WJC team in Division 2 Group B is playing for his home country national team at the U-18 World Championship Group B Division 2 in Belgrade, Serbia. Ex-Pack, Matt Carey, signs with Schwenniger (Germany-DEL) for next season. Four more European, Asian or Scandanavia titles have been decided. In Iceland, SA Akureyri Vikings of Northern Iceland (southern Iceland much warmer !) swept SR Rekyavik in four straight 2-0, 3-2 (OT), 3-2 and a final game at 4-1. The playoff MVP and top goalie was Adam Beukeboom, the second cousin of former Ranger player and coach and Wolf Pack assistant coach, Jeff Beukeboom. In Lithuania, Engergie Elektrenai won their 4th straight title over Hockey Punks Vilnius sweeping best of five series by the scores of 6-4,7-4 and 7-3. In Spain, Txuri Urdin beat CG Pulgcerda for their third straight title and 16th Spanish title winning the championship game 3-2. Turkey, saw Zeytinburnu Istanbul capture its sixth straight Turkish Super League (TSL) title beating Buz Adamlar. They swept the best of five series winning by the scores of 2-1, 4-3 (OT) and 4-3 in the short-season league.

James Ferraro Aguirre, USA

Typhonian Highlife Pacific Sound Visions, USA
