Pokemon Posters and Studio Ghibli Posters: A Fusion of Nostalgia and Art
Posters have long been a popular way for fans to showcase their favorite franchises, whether it’s for personal enjoyment or to add a unique touch to their living spaces. Among the most beloved in pop culture are Pokemon posters and Studio Ghibli posters, two distinct yet equally iconic forms of art that resonate with a wide range of audiences. Both represent a deep connection to childhood memories and artistic expression, making them highly sought after by collectors and fans alike.
Pokemon Posters: A Tribute to a Timeless Franchise
Since its debut in 1996, Pokemon has become one of the most successful and influential media franchises in the world. The beloved world of Pikachu, Ash Ketchum, and hundreds of other Pokemon creatures has captured the hearts of fans across generations. For many, Pokemon posters are a way to pay homage to their favorite childhood memories while embracing the ongoing legacy of the franchise.
Pokemon posters come in a wide variety of styles, from minimalist designs to vibrant, action-packed scenes featuring iconic Pokemon like Charizard, Bulbasaur, and Mewtwo. Whether it's a poster featuring the original 151 Pokemon or one that highlights the newer generations of creatures, these posters offer a way to celebrate the diverse world of Pokemon. Fans often choose Pokemon posters that evoke personal nostalgia, such as ones that showcase the classic video games, animated TV series, or trading card game, making them more than just decoration—they’re a visual reminder of their passion for the franchise.
Studio Ghibli Posters: Masterpieces of Animation and Art
On the other hand, Studio Ghibli posters offer a glimpse into the magical worlds created by the legendary Japanese animation studio. From Spirited Away to My Neighbor Totoro and Princess Mononoke, Ghibli films are known for their breathtaking animation, deep storytelling, and emotional depth. Studio Ghibli posters allow fans to bring these beautiful, imaginative worlds into their homes and immerse themselves in the unique aesthetic of Studio Ghibli.
What makes Studio Ghibli posters so special is the way they capture the spirit of the films, whether it’s the whimsical charm of Totoro or the mysterious allure of the Catbus. The artwork in these posters often mirrors the hand-drawn artistry that defines Studio Ghibli’s films, showcasing vibrant landscapes, mystical creatures, and rich characters. These posters aren’t just about the films—they represent the emotional journeys and timeless messages that Ghibli films convey, making them perfect for those who appreciate animation as a form of high art.
The Appeal of Pokemon and Studio Ghibli Posters
What unites Pokemon posters and Studio Ghibli posters is their ability to evoke nostalgia while simultaneously appealing to new generations of fans. Both serve as a visual escape, whether it’s diving into the world of Pokemon battles or getting lost in the enchanting forests of Studio Ghibli films. Whether you’re an adult rediscovering the magic of childhood or a new fan experiencing these universes for the first time, both types of posters provide a window into the unique worlds that have shaped pop culture and animation.
In conclusion, Pokemon posters and Studio Ghibli posters are more than just decorative items—they’re expressions of passion, nostalgia, and love for the stories that have captured the imagination of millions. These posters offer fans a way to celebrate their favorite characters and films while adding a touch of artistry to any room. Whether you’re a fan of the vibrant world of Pokemon or the beautifully crafted animations of Studio Ghibli, these posters are perfect for showcasing your fandom and bringing a sense of magic and wonder into your home.

@redveils asked, unprompted ...
"Oh come now, don't cause such a fuss and dance with me. I won't hear that you've forgotten how. I don't think that's even possible, it's in our very blood to know the art of song and dance.", she waits with a smile; clawed hand outstretched to the former queen. "Humor me, if only for one song."
the whimsicality of the homelands felt long lost in the streets of fabletown. the mundane had long overtaken what little magic this world had and replaced it with towers of concrete and plastic wires. it was so unlike what she and every other fable grew up with. nature could seen at every turn in the form of forests, plains, gardens, and farms — sparkling springs and magical plants were plentiful if you knew where to look. snow didn’t know she missed these parts of home so badly until the whirlwind of her life had landed her on the farm. things were simpler here, as simple as the days before the empire’s attack. they still bartered for their goods, gave to their neighbors for neighbor’s sake. something was still missing, but it was more than she had seen in centuries.
it was not until an autumn festival was announced that she felt the potential to be truly immersed in the ways of old. despite yearning for a chance to go and embrace the festivities, snow hesitated. if she went, she would have to bring her litter of toddlers. wolven toddlers who haven’t yet learned how to control their sharp little teeth and sharp little claws. one mistake and the townsfolk would be their dinner! though it saddened her to miss this opportunity, she accepted that this was just one of the many sacrifices she would have to make.
the event was practically erased from memory by the time red riding hood came to tell her the news. she had opened the door to the fable excitedly holding the crudely drawn poster up, urging snow to come with her for the festivities. she tried to tell her no, it wasn’t possible with the children and the sour taste the townsfolk had towards her; red did not yet know of the rebellion from just a few years ago, so she did not blame her for her naiveté. somehow, though, the newcomer managed to reassure her enough that she found herself pulled by the arm into the fairgrounds.
snow watched as most of her children scattered in all directions towards the food, games, and dancing. only little winter stayed behind, holding her hand as she wandered the stalls alongside red... who also insisted on holding onto her. that one was always overly friendly with her. she didn’t mind so much nowadays as touch was something she was forced to become accustomed to when raising a litter of wolf children. they ventured through the vendor’s stalls, being offered cobs of corn and dried meats until they reached the town center where the animal fables merrily danced with one another. boy blue was amongst the band members, playing his trumpet proudly. the sight of him in his element brought a smile to her face.
“ oh snow, isn’t this just marvelous? “ the softness of red’s voice would have been drowned out by the band if she had not leaned right into her ear.
snow spoke louder in response, “ i have to admit, it is incredible that you managed to pull this off. i haven’t been to one of these since i was a little girl. ”
red gasped, “ since you were a little girl? but you’re royalty! you must have been the star of these festivals in your kingdom! “
“ was. i was royalty. and no, we never went to these once i married into the throne. we were stuck at stuffy banquets while you all got to enjoy yourselves. “ she joked, then turned her gaze to the dancers. she spotted some of her children among the crowd, following their own made up rhythms while the pigs and lambs cheered them on. blossom was thrashing around more than she was dancing, but the baby birds made a game out of it by hanging onto her fur. even winter found her place among the band, shyly hitting a drum alongside a hopping rabbit who urged her on. it was sweet seeing everybody get along so well.
“ we should join them! in dance, i mean — with each other, perhaps? “ once their eyes met, her words wavered with the slightest hint of bashfulness.
“ no, that’s quite alright. you’re free to join the others if you’d like, though. don’t worry about me. “ snow waved her off with a polite shake of the head.
" oh come now, don't cause such a fuss and dance with me. i won't hear that you've forgotten how. i don't think that's even possible, it's in our very blood to know the art of song and dance. " red waited with a smile; clawed hand outstretched to the former queen. " humor me, if only for one song. "
looking back to the others, so enthralled in the moment, they wouldn’t notice if she did partake in just one song. of course red was right, the homelands were full of song and dance and every fable knew just how to join in a way that it always felt so natural, but it was so long ago. the most dancing she had done recently — no, in the last century, was the occasional ballroom dance during the remembrance ceremony. snow tried to object, but she would not take no for an answer.
red’s grip pulled her close, spinning them into the group with a stumble. she was allowed only a moment to steady herself before her partner positioned herself for a waltz. a comical decision considering where they were. it was even more comical that she put snow into the male’s role in this dance. having no choice but to indulge her friend’s request, she placed one hand upon her waist and the other onto her outstretched palm. left foot forward, right foot forward, feet together. thank the gods she had studied the lead’s role as much as the follower. if there is one thing that snow white is known for, it was her penchant for being overly prepared for everything.
their dance began as a standard formal dance only to devolve into more of a folk dance like the others. it was surprisingly more comfortable than the attempt at something classy. they blended into the crowd better like this, matching their spins and steps to a rhythm rather than memorized steps. the whole event was more fun than snow ever thought it would be, more fun than she had in ages. one song turned into two, then three, then they lost count entirely. red even attempted to dip her at one point; a cute idea in theory, but a complete blunder in execution when the one performing the dip was twelve inches shorter than their partner.
as the night grew darker and the farm fables began to slowly retire to their homes, snow went to gather her children. the toddlers fussed at her, begging to stay yet their yawns betrayed them. she gathered two in her arms and another slung on her back. red helped with the other three and accompanied them home. the music grew quieter as they reached the cottage outside town, the sounds of the night providing a more peaceful backdrop. any protests her pups would have had to bed time were shushed. rightfully so, with how quickly they all passed out. snow herself had to stifle a yawn after all the excitement of the day. she turned to red with a tired, content sigh.
“ i loathe to say it, but you were right. “ snow shook her head and let out a breathy laugh. “ i’m glad you dragged me out there. everyone had an amazing time thanks to you. “
red perked up with a toothy grin and took hold of her hands. “ you mean it!? i knew you’d love it if you tried it! i’m so glad this worked! “
“ what worked? “ snow raised a brow.
“ i wanted to dance with you, “ she bounced in place, pulling snow’s hands closer to her chest. “ and i did! “
snow let out another laugh, this time more amused. “ ah, yes. a rare opportunity. you did get me to dance with you and i even enjoyed myself. congratulations, miss red. “

RANKED: STUDIO GHIBLI MOVIES (rating from highest to lowest)
Check caption on every photo to check synopsis and review. 📷
I'm so happy! I've managed to finish 24 Ghibli Movies. Yay! Achievement unlock! I want to rewatch some of their movies. Every movie feels nostalgic, with good vibes, and a whimsical story! Highly recommended!
(my highest rating is 5 stars and the lowest would be 1 star)
(set2 10photos)
Princess Mononoke 1997 ★★★★ 𝄢 A masterpiece. Likable and relatable characters. It pains me by thinking about it... I mean, humans... Can be deceiving, loving, caring, and can destroy humanity. This movie shows that everyone has a different point of view. We live and fight for what we believe in. It's a matter of choices. To become a better person or the other way around. I think if everyone can learn how to be Ashitaka as being selfless, this world might have a chance to survive. 📷📷 • THE FATE OF THE WORLD RESTS ON THE COURAGE OF ONE WARRIOR. Ashitaka, a prince of the disappearing Emishi people, is cursed by a demonized boar god and must journey to the west to find a cure. Along the way, he encounters San, a young human woman fighting to protect the forest, and Lady Eboshi, who is trying to destroy it. Ashitaka must find a way to bring balance to this conflict.
Added another movie poster. Coz why not? 📷
The Secret World of Arrietty 2010 ★★★★ 𝄢 Beautifully crafted and made. I love the whole story. A magical, heartwarming, sweet, and simple yet so unique movie for all kinds of ages. It was fun with a great sense of adventure, through the film you'll feel like even the smallest childhood fantasies might be real. I remember the first time I watch this movie. This is actually the first Ghibli movie I've watched, recommended by my best friend and brother Jao Wonders. This particular movie opens my eyes to other Studio Ghibli movies. • DO NOT BE SEEN BY HUMANS. THAT’S BEEN THE LAW OF CHILDREN OF THE UNDERFLOOR. 14-year-old Arrietty and the rest of the Clock family live in peaceful anonymity as they make their own home from items “borrowed” from the house’s human inhabitants. However, life changes for the Clocks when a human boy discovers Arrietty.
Kiki's Delivery Service 1989 ★★★★ 𝄢 📷📷📷📷📷📷 I love everything about this movie. Waaahhhhh. Jiji is hilarious! 📷 Adorable and lovable characters. I wish I can fly like Kiki. 📷 • I WAS FEELING BLUE, BUT I’M BETTER NOW. A young witch, on her mandatory year of independent life, finds fitting into a new community difficult while she supports herself by running an air courier service.
Whisper of the Heart 1995 ★★★★ 𝄢 Heartfelt movie. I really love the part that Shizuku strives to be better, that she use Seiji as an inspiration. 📷 Soooo pure. It's refreshing when it comes to romance movies. Love it! • I FOUND SOMEONE I LIKE Shizuku lives a simple life, dominated by her love for stories and writing. One day she notices that all the library books she has have been previously checked out by the same person: ‘Seiji Amasawa’. Curious as to who he is, Shizuku meets a boy her age whom she finds infuriating, but discovers to her shock that he is her ‘Prince of Books’. As she grows closer to him, she realizes that he merely read all those books to bring himself closer to her. The boy Seiji aspires to be a violin maker in Italy, and it is his dreams that make Shizuku realize that she has no clear path for her life. Knowing that her strength lies in writing, she tests her talents by writing a story about Baron, a cat statuette belonging to Seiji’s grandfather.
Porco Rosso 1992 ★★★★ 𝄢 I LOVE IT! Even the villains! They're all adorable. 📷 • A PIG’S GOT TO FLY Porco Rosso, known in Japan as Crimson Pig (Kurenai no Buta) is the sixth animated film by Hayao Miyazaki and released in 1992. You’re introduced to an Italian World War I fighter ace, now living as a freelance bounty hunter chasing “air pirates” in the Adriatic Sea. He has been given a curse that changed his head to that of a pig. Once called Marco Pagot, he is now known to the world as “Porco Rosso”, Italian for “Red Pig.”
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind 1984 ★★★★ 𝄢What a masterful work from Hayao Miyazaki! I respect and like strong female characters! I love the storyline. From the world-building, villains, and characters are all well executed! YAY! • A YOUNG GIRL’S LOVE CALLED FORTH MIRACLES… After a global war, the seaside kingdom known as the Valley of the Wind remains one of the last strongholds on Earth untouched by a poisonous jungle and the powerful insects that guard it. Led by the courageous Princess Nausicaä, the people of the Valley engage in an epic struggle to restore the bond between humanity and Earth.
My Neighbors the Yamadas 1999 3.5 ★ 𝄢 Feel-good movie. I laughed out loud with every situation. It feels nostalgic as well. I can relate to some of their issues when it comes to dealing with family. Love it. 📷📷 • THE SAFETY OF FAMILY IS THE WISH OF THE WORLD The Yamadas are a typical middle-class Japanese family in urban Tokyo and this film shows us a variety of episodes of their lives. With tales that range from humorous to heartbreaking, we see this family cope with life’s little conflicts, problems, and joys in their own way.
Earwig and the Witch 2020 3.5 ★ 𝄢 Wow! Even though it's far from the original classic Ghibli movies that we're used to, I still enjoyed this movie. The only letdown for me would be the ending. I was hoping for much more appropriate closure. Or is there a second part?! lol. A bit disappointing. I still prefer classic Ghibli movies! But a great experience though. Nice try. 📷📷 • A headstrong orphan discovers a world of spells and potions while living with a selfish witch.
Grave of the Fireflies 1988 ★★★ 𝄢 📷📷📷📷📷 These emojis will explain my emotions after watching this. SAD AF! • In the final months of World War II, 14-year-old Seita and his sister Setsuko are orphaned when their mother is killed during an air raid in Kobe, Japan. After a falling out with their aunt, they move into an abandoned bomb shelter. With no surviving relatives and their emergency rations depleted, Seita and Setsuko struggle to survive.

YOUR WRITING IS SO GOOD OMG! How are you so talented?! :O your tma dialogue is on point! do you have any writing that you are working on atm that might come out soon? (if you wanna share).
Hi anon! That’s so kind of you to say! :D I do actually - I’m working on a RQBB fic that (fingers crossed) will be all finished for the big event at the end of the month. I can’t share any of it just yet (all very hush hush, I’m so excited to finally be able to show it.) BUT. I am working on a longer fic looking at the S1 OG Archives team and how they’d function as a polycule, so have some Sasha and Martin softness!
--
This time round, it's Martin's turn to open his wallet, wincing at the price. They alternate who shoulders this particular financial blow – one of them forks out for the tickets, the other buys drinks or coffees or sandwiches after. On their trips, it's only ever the two of them. Tim will only venture near a cinema to see whatever popcorn action flick he's seen advertised on the side of a bus, and Martin will watch those, in fairness, if Sasha badgers him enough, but only begrudgingly, trying and failing not to be a little bit of a film snob about it. Jon, for his part, has only ever said yes once, to a documentary about Macedonian beekeeping.
Afterwards, because it's usually a matinee screening, they'll secrete themselves somewhere within the in-cinema cafe, elbows on the table and and playfully dissect the movie inbetween bites of an overpriced panini. Martin favours symbolic films, whimsical scores at odds with the unfolding drama, full of dream sequences and stunning cinematography and uncertain endings. Sasha prefers social realism and emotional acting and a concrete resolution.
Their tastes do find overlap. They'd both been looking forward to this particular film for weeks; Martin had sent Sasha screenshots of raving reviews from Sundance and Canne and the film festival circuit, Sasha had taken a picture of the poster outside the Curzon in Mayfair and captioned it 'SOON'. Which is why, when they came out as the credits rolled, Martin already venting and mid-bitch, Sasha interrupting with her own heated, infuriated additions, heading down the stairs to the ground floor cafe sounding like two enraged magpies, Sasha had bought them both two bottles of beer and overpriced cake slices and they'd taken great delight in stewing in calories and alcohol.
They conclude the night many hours later. Martin's wobbling as they stand at the bus stop, squinting at the sun-faded timetable protected by a scratched and graffitted plastic covering. Sasha's gone sleepy, leaning against his back as he peers at the information blurring in front of him.
“Sash, wu'v misst it,” He slurs. “'s'.... fuckit.....went like, 'n'our ago.”
“S'fine,” she burbles against his back. “I-I'll walk, s'cool.”
“Y' live in, in fuckin' Haringey, 's....'s miles away,” Martin says, and he's got a crease above his eyebrows and he's clearly thinking hard because he spins round and says: “And my flat's.... 's worm-food, innit. So. Right. Up. Tim's... Tim's, what, twen'y minutes away, summin like that?”
It is an abominable hour. Tim will most definitely be in bed, and neither Sasha nor Martin have a key, so he'll be rough eyed and sore about the disturbance. But she is tired and staggering and she wants to go to bed. Martin is gesturing with that stubborn expression he gets, turning around and indicating that she jump on his back. She clambers up like a graceless forest animal, digging her shoes into the fleshy sides of his torso. With a bit of swearing and manoeuvring and a sketchy moment where Martin nearly loses his balance and topples the both of them, she is seated comfortably against his back, arms held like jumper sleeves around his neck.
“Hm, love you Marto,” she sighs into his hair as he sets off, carrying her easily.
After a minute, she gets a self-conscious little 'you too, Sash' and she falls asleep against his hoodie.

shamed the king (in all his pride)
Hello Loves! Do you remember the summer reading assignment I told you I had to finish? Well, I’m 1/3 through and I wanted to share it with you! It’s a Queen fanfic as well as Homework, ‘cause I can’t do anything unless I’m truly interested in it.
It is a piece shamelessly inspired by @waywardrunawaycherryblossom‘s own work, I hope you like it!
♖♜♖
It was a sunny day when the Fae walked out of the forest. It was not unheard of for nymphs like him to step into civilisation; however, this particular creature was a little bit more dangerous around humans than any other Fae.
It seemed as if with every step the critters around the forest would fall silent, weary of the soul walking amongst them, as would every bug and insect that roamed the area. No animal wanted to have a run-in with this particular forest dweller, and it showed in the eerie silence that surrounded him.
As he got closer to the edge of the woods, he willed his inhuman beauty to tame down, and for clothes to appear over his naked body. If anyone were to see him now, he would look like any other human. One or two blemishes were covering his skin, a little fat in his abdomen and waist, and small flaws in his face that made him look human. That wasn’t going to last long, however.
All that it would take for his otherworldly beauty to shine through would be to find his next prey. The next unsuspecting human that would fall victim to his charms and fall helplessly in love with him, granting him another child amongst the humans, another changeling that would make their binding amongst the world, doing and undoing to the Unseelie Court’s demand.
Once he stepped out of the forest, he looked around. It had been a few years since he had been out of the Canaan, and he noted how changed the Irish lands were. At the edge of the forest was a quaint little town that had been nothing but a few houses the last time he had been around.
Two massive stone churches rose above the rest of the buildings. Woods and mountains surrounded the village, creating a stark contrast with the different coloured houses that composed the settlement. A sly smile crept upon his features as he looked around. Cyan coloured eyes taking in the landscape as he decided where to start searching.
Maybe he could find an old bookshop with unsuspecting and lonely bachelors. Or, he could hunt for younger girls, fresh out of school and naive enough to have a one night stand. But as he decided, something in the air changed. Something that made the animals in the woods come out if their hiding and the bugs around the area to buzz again. For nature was the wisest of them all, and she knew that something unheard of was about to happen.
♖♜♖
The day was bright as he walked through the city streets. The sun is shining down from the sky, making his skin glow and golden hair glimmer. People looked at him whenever he passed beside them. Gaggles of girls whispering amongst them about his beauty while the rest of them just seemed awestruck. The fae walked down the street, letting his senses guide him to the closest changeling he could find, and found himself standing in front of a Real Estate agency minutes later.
The bell rang as he walked inside the old shop. Shutters letting the evening sun stream into the room, lighting up the cosy insides. The walls were with pictures of different houses, both old and new, as well as books and posters about architecture. The grey carpet had the odd stain here and there, as did the brown leather couches that lined the waiting room, giving the sense that they had been used for a very long time.
And on the farthest wall was a door, behind which his senses were telling him the changeling was, were several potted plants are lining the wood. Flowers bloomed, casting what he recognised as a protection spell. Heather and Begonia are guarding whoever was behind that door from other less pleasant creatures.
“Come on in!” The fae let himself wander in when he heard someone shout back to him from the back room, “I’ll be right out!”
The door shut behind him as the creature walked close to the picture lined walls. He looked at the dozen or so little houses and apartments that the agency had to offer; they ranged from whimsical looking homes to awfully ordinary flats. None of them appealed to him; however, he knew that if he needed to stay in the human world for more than a few hours, the fae would have to choose a home, least he arises suspicion.
The back door opened, letting in a soft stream of summer air and the most beautiful woman the immortal had ever laid his eyes on. Her hair was long a curly, coils of bronze framing her thin face, long nose, pretty hazel eyes, and dark skin. As she met eyes with the blonde, she tilted her head to the side, making the teal colour earrings she was wearing glitter in the light, “Good afternoon, Joanna will be with you in a moment. Would you like anything to drink?”
The second of astonishment passed and the blonde’s usual charms came back full-on, he smiled at the girl, then scanned her fingers and wrists for any sign of the brunette being married, then took a step closer when he noticed nothing, “Just your name will be enough for now.”
Something like a dark shadow crossed over her face, and the smile she had been previously showing him turned bitter and angry, “I know what game you’re playing.”
For a second, the Faerie frowned, reaching out to confirm that the woman was indeed a human, that he hadn’t been mistaken when making his judgement. Once he did confirm the woman’s parentage, his frown deepened, “Whatever do you mean?”
The human scoffed, as she leaned against the wooden frame, “People like you come in here every day, following the stories about the gipsy — ” she spat out the word as if it was poison, “Well, I’m not giving you my real name. I know you’ll make fun of it.”
At that moment, the one he had been waiting for walked into the room, placing a hand on the girl’s shoulder and glaring at the fae. That is until she realised who he was, “Bry, dear, you don’t have to worry about him; he is a friend of mine.”
It was only then that Bry blushed, looking sorry for what she had just done. The Changeling, an elvish looking girl with long brown hair and porcelain white skin, looked back at the Fae and smiled, “You have to forgive her, Meadows, people around here are not kind to women like Bryony.”
Meadows. Interesting choice of name by the Changeling. The fae accepted the name graciously, with a smile and a slight bow of his head, as it is customary, “No worries, I know how others can be.”
The Changeling, Joanna, smiled, “Good, now come; we have a lot to discuss.”
Bryony was ushered out of the room, told to bring them two cups of coffee from the bakery down the street, as they discussed their family matters. However, as soon as they were behind the closed door, in a room even lovelier than the one before that they used as a waiting room, Joanna bowed.
“My Prince,” she swept a lock of hair behind her ear, “it’s an honour to find you here.”
The room was thoroughly decorated with all kinds of beautiful flowers, buds of all types, shapes, and colours. Set up in patterns that Meadows, he had to start using that name if he wanted to fit in, recognised as wealth, prosperity, and luck spells. It was lovely, an almost reminiscent replica of their home back in Canaan.
“I’m terribly sorry about Bryony’s behaviour; she hasn’t had the best experiences with the men around town.”
Meadows frowned, “Is it that common for people to mock her?”
“More than you think,” Joanna walked over to a machine set up on the corner, “humans can be so cruel when they want to be. I’ve tried to help her, but I’m afraid the world is just sometimes too terrible for souls like her. Coffee, Your Highness?”
“Isn’t Bryony bringing some?”
Joanna bit her lip, “Yes, she is, I’m sorry if I offended you.”
Meadows waved her apology off, beckoning her to sit beside him, “Forget about Rules of Hospitality, I’m not your prince while I’m on Earth. I’m— what was the name you gave me? Oh yes, Meadows. ”
“And you are here on business, I presume.”
He nodded, “My father asked all of our siblings to come to Earth, says this place requires Changelings.”
“Dire,” Joanna agreed, “I’m the last one in this town, and please don’t even get me started on London. I think Madam Thatcher's power has come to an end.”
Meadows shrugged, “She was warned of the risks, now she has to live with the consequences.”
“Well,” the changeling said, as she settled on the couch stiffly, “I suppose I shouldn’t derail you from your orders. Has anyone caught your attention yet?”
Meadows thought about it. He had seen one or two girls who looked gullible enough for him to take, as well as women who, regardless of being attached to their boyfriend’s arm, couldn’t stop looking at him. He had even seen the odd loner who looked like the kind of person willing to have a good time with anyone. However, none had caught his eye in the way that Bryony had.
“What about your assistant?” He asked, “Do you think she would mind having a Changeling running around?”
“Mmm?” For the first time in their meeting, Joanna seemed not to be focused on the conversation they were having, “I mean, I don’t think she would mind, per se. Even less with my help to take care of the imp, but— Meadows you have to understand, that you might have chosen the only woman on this town who won’t fall for your charms.”
Meadows frowned, “Why? Is she only attracted to women?”
“No,” Joanna said as she toyed with the hem of her t-shirt, “She can’t have kids, and you can’t charm anyone who can’t have kids. That’s how your Magick works.”
Before Meadows could ask another question, dive deeper into the story of the girl, a knock came on the door, “That’s Bryony.”
“We’ll keep talking about this later,” he said, “Now let her in, I really do want some coffee.”
♖♜♖
After Bryony had given them their coffees and Joanna had given Meadows the keys for one of their rental houses and the directions; the blonde had headed off. He had walked down the quiet streets of the town. He could see people here and there, chatting or eating, playing with their kids and even kissing in the faraway corners of the parks. For one second, he was reminded of home, but not because the human world was any similar to Canaan, but because it seemed so dull in comparison to his birthplace.
Where he was used to seeing a constant parade of street dancers and muses, he saw groggy businessman and pretentious women. Where he was used to seeing familiar faces, he saw con-men trying to rip off poor families of their last pounds. Where he was used to seeing beauty, he saw people laughing for something as innocent as a name.
Bryony had been something else. Even though Joanna had popped his bubble by telling him that Bryony would never fall for his charms, that he wouldn’t be able to enjoy a few weeks in her presence at least before he would have to leave her, he couldn’t get her out of her mind. He couldn’t stop thinking about the spark of defiance in her eyes, the way she had been so ready to fight for the respect of something as simple as her name with every inch of her will even if it meant losing a potential customer.
There was something about her that was driving him up the wall, even if the only exchange of words they had had had been a series of insults. Maybe that’s what had him thinking about her.
The house Joanna had given him was quite lovely. It was this small, two-bedroom, house in the outskirts of town with a backyard facing directly into the woods. Painted blue and white, it gave the impression of being the kind of cosy cabin he would read of in the children books when he was younger. The ones that naughty fairies would peak into only to drive the humans insane. It made him feel right at home.
The floors were wood, the plumbing system quite old, and it smelled of moss and water leaks. It was bearable, would even get to be incredible if he got up to make sure the house was fixed up, which he would do if he decided to stay awhile.
He plopped himself on the old couch of the living room, action that sent dust flying all over the place. He coughed and sputtered, then decided that he needed to at least clean the old thing, even if he wasn’t staying for more than a few days. That’s how he spent the rest of the evening, cleaning up the house methodically with every single tool he conjured up. He was well aware that he could simply will the dust and muck away; however, cleaning was much more calming and gave him the time to think about the day.
He found himself scrubbing an old stain from the Kitchen isle when the knock sounded all over the house. He frowned, wiping his hands on his pants and hoping for the best when opening the door. On the other side was Bryony, in the same clothes he had seen her in, holding a bottle of something in one hand, while looking sheepish, “Look, I’m sorry I reacted that way. I’m just used to people not—”
The brunette looked down, then met his eyes, “I’m sorry. That’s what I am trying to say.”
Meadows pursed his lips, “I’m the one that should be sorry.”
“What?”
“I’m the one who should be sorry,” he repeated, “It’s just I’m used to—”
“You are used to women falling at your feet every time you meet them?” For a second he worried he had somehow offended the human, then he noticed the mischievous smile and the glint in Bryony’s eyes.
He chuckled, “I like you.”
“Well, I can’t say the same,” she raised the bottle, he knew it must have been cheap wine, at best, but he couldn’t bring himself to care, “Yet. But what do you say we start over? A bottle of wine, a reintroduction, maybe I even get to hear some embarrassing stories of my boss?”
His heart dropped to the pit of his stomach when he realised what this meant. It meant that somehow, someway, his Magick had worked on Bryony and that she was here like every other girl had ever been. Ready for the best night of their lives, and the worst nine months after that. He should have been happy, but instead, it filled him with something akin to disappointment.
He opened the door further, “Alright, sweetheart. In you go.”
The brunette stepped inside and looked around the house, “I must say, you’ve done quite a good job with the place. Last time I came in this was a complete dumpster.”
He closed the door harder than he should have, “Yeah, I guess I was hoping to bring someone here one of these days.”
She turned around, narrowing her eyes at Meadows, “Oh no, you don’t, mister, I’ve got a boyfriend. Now, where are the glasses?”
“I wasn’t going to do anything, I swear,” He felt a smile spread over his face, “Besides, I would much rather have a friend right now.”

Fairytale Flourishes for a Girl’s Bedroom Your Little Princess Will Love
Despite being decades old, the allure of the Disney Princess films–Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and The Little Mermaid, to name just a few–continues to captivate little girls all over the world. With a fairytale-themed bedroom, you can give your child a chance to live out her “once upon a time” dreams–and it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg, either. Here are a few nifty ideas you can incorporate into your daughter’s personal space and transform it into a place that’s truly magical:
Use whimsical wallpaper Stick-on wallpaper murals have been a boon for any homeowner who’s into DIY. The offerings on Pixlscapes are easy to install, a breeze to remove, and come in a wide variety of vibrant colors and playful patterns.
You can easily put together an accent wall that doubles as a mural with stick-on wallpaper murals. For a fairytale-themed bedroom, you may want to consider a tranquil landscape that will bring a wooded forest to mind, just like the one that Belle goes through when she goes in search of her father in Beauty and the Beast. For fans of The Little Mermaid, this beautiful view of the sun peeking out of the ocean is an excellent choice. Little girls who love animals will have fun playing pretend princess in a bedroom with this watercolor mural of beloved woodland animals.
You can also use stick-on wallpaper to create a majestic headboard for your little girl’s bed. A sweet floral background will make her feel like she’s sleeping in a garden of blooms. Pump up the pastels Most Disney princesses are associated with pastel colors: Cinderella and Queen Elsa from Frozen share a shimmering ice blue; Princess Aurora, the Sleeping Beauty, wears a lovely pink; Tiana from The Princess and the Frog is most often shown in a pale green and petal-yellow gown.
Using the colors associated with your daughter’s favorite princess is one of the easiest ways to emphasize your chosen theme. You can easily look up the exact colors that the princess wears online–you can then take the hex code or color name to a big box store and have them mix the paint up for you.
Leaning into those same colors for furniture and bedding creates a sense of cohesion. If you feel unsure about overusing a single color, though, you can put together a color scheme using free tools online. With a color palette, you can easily add complementary colors and accent colors to keep the room from looking monochromatic.
Create a cozy atmosphere with curtains Few things say “a princess sleeps here” more than a luxurious canopy bed. The curtains add elegance and a sense of mystery; they can turn any bed into a veritable centerpiece.
If buying a canopy or four-poster bed is out of the question, you can still emulate the effect with a few DIY tricks. Hanging curtain rods or self-adhesive hooks for the fabric are viable options; you can also find standalone princess canopies online that can be hung from the ceiling with a single hook attachment. Choose voile or gauze for a light and wispy feel.

I’m just going through a bunch of my old RP intros and concepts and... I feel like I really miss this writing. Too bad RP is so full of drama, else I’d pick it up again!
Lantern - 2015 You awaken at night to the creaking of crickets and the sob of an owl. The air is cool and calm on your cheek; it smells sweet like rotting leaves and copper. You and your new comrades are collected on a low, circular metal platform that is half-buried in the dirt and looks as if it's been there for centuries; there are markings etched into the surface, obscured by ancient moss and creeping ragged vines. Above, a thick rustle of leaves and mossy branches obscures the sky, but you are not without light: a weathered old lantern hangs from a high bough of a tree, held up by a thin shimmering thread. The tree -- which rises old and twisted beside you, and whose dark gnarled branch supports the lantern that is your only light -- is ticking.
Lantern (redux) - 2018 The sea thrashed and roared beneath a howling sky. Waves arose like dark mountains and crashed, collapsing, into chaos. Lightning reached with forked fingers across smoky clouds. Collisions of thunder trembled in the bones of the ship's crew while waves fell on their backs and the deck tilted and tossed beneath their slipping desperation. Sailors shouted incoherent over the stinging rain and the hiss of foam. Whistles pierced the shrieking wind. A brightness in the sky illuminated a man clambering up the swaying mast before a clap of thunder deafened him. The Legend's Forgery creaked and lilted, vaulted over a wave and crashed down again, flinging its precious cargo against the bulkhead. The cargo hold, sloshing saltwater, was crammed with sobs and screams. Lanterns swung violent from the rafters, casting horrible shadows on the walls. "Man overboard!" A flash of light revealed the outline of a colossal wave that rose up out of the froth. It loomed there, growing blacker and higher, until it darkened the last of the electric sky. The heavy jaws of the sea swallowed the sound of breaking wood. Everything was cold, and froth, and dark.
Streetlight Dragonflies - 2018 Duskwick is a little lakeside town that -- according to reddit, expert bloggers, and several reputable youtube channels -- has recently had an unprecedented number of paranormal reports. Sightings of strange lights, moving objects and electrical anomalies has skyrocketed. Errant cackles of unidentified animals echo in the night, and the dragonflies only come out after sunset. Residents claim to have stumbled sometimes into an alternate reality like a replica of the town from 1980, abandoned and overgrown and inhabited by tigers and deer-people. Since the first tiger-sighting four months ago, the telephone poles and diner corkboards have been papered in MISSING posters.
The Legend of Gobbledygook - 2018 Here in the Tangle, nothing really much happens, not really -- the sneaklings play their tricks and the flapdribbles ruin the good linens and the woofhowls make for noisy nights, but the folk mostly keep to themselves in their cozy corners of the labyrinth; but now, now, folks are turning up stone. Statues! Just here and there, one frozen in his garden, another at her breakfast table, another (embarrassingly) in the loo. About the same time this all began, certain walls of the labyrinth -- which had stood for epochs at least -- moved or sank or disappeared, making paths where no paths were before. Grandmother Wicker says that someone has stolen the heart of Gobbledygook ... ... and that unless someone brings it back, we all will be stone before long. A call went out to the folk of the Tangle, encouraging adventurous souls to seek out and retrieve the heart of Gobbledygook. Any folk interested were asked to please kindly meet up early in the morning at Gobbledygook's forest, where the crime was committed and where clues may be had, for the King's court had nothing of the sleuthing sort on staff, and no one yet has had a clue what to do.
The Helium Frightful - 2018 NEBULA )) (pl. nebulae) A blanket term for the synthetic life forms commonly found in the wild. Believed to have been originally developed from unearthed dragon remains. An invasive species: has diversified, evolved, and all but replaced native flora and fauna. FOLK )) Refers to ancient and primitive civilizations; their stone ruins are common in undeveloped places. Little survives of what they were truly like, but stories and legends abound. LABYRINTH CORP )) The label on every high flier, scum skidder and deep mover in production. Most high-quality machinery, vehicles and weapons have the LABYRINTH mark. Known for their innovation in -- and monopoly on -- bio-machinery. HOLOGRAPHIC ORTHOGONAL BROADCASTING ORGANISM (H.O.B.O.) )) An essential device that everyone carries on their person at all times. A newer, fancier one comes out every year (for those who like to have the latest thing) and there are billions of available styles and specialty functions. THE HELIUM FRIGHTFUL )) A living sky-vessel, captained by a renowned vigilante, in need of a crew.
Mote - 2018 A youth laid his hands on the stone and, using the blue-soft etchings as footholds, clambered up the side of the Mote in order to retrieve his spinning shoe. Before his grasping fingers could reach it, his own body was swept up in the dance -- the villagers watched while his helpless body was spun round and round in the air, and he made unintelligible noises of surprise and uncertainty. Finally, after he'd attempted and failed to stop himself, another villager caught him by the ankle as he spun past and yanked him out of the Mote's whirling hold. He had, at least, retrieved his shoe. After a few days, the swirling column of old pots and fish bones and wood-shavings and hats and shovels had lost its novelty, and the villagers' attention directed instead to the trickle of visitors come to see the new phenomenon. A few had appointed themselves experts, and for a few coin would offer tours of the scenic coast and invite customers to toss things into the towering swirl of detritus. But at night, the blue-glow etchings cast a haunting shine across the ocean -- beckoning.
Dragon’s Mask - 2017 THE FALL could have been anything: a tumble down the cliffside, a leap into the lake, a jump off the ledge, a trip over broken sidewalk. Once the fall had begun, it did not stop. Darkness pressed close and air rushed past, tumbling, no notion of which way was up, no sight of the bottom. Consciousness, eventually, was lost. A pile of soggy pillows broke the fall. They were of a rainbow of colors, each lovingly embroidered with patterns of thread, all frayed and dulled by age and water. The room was smaller than a child's bedroom and made all of copper. The tarnished walls were etched with patterns like a motherboard. A warm light illuminated the room, but its source was unclear. The ceiling was dark and made of deep, rippling water. There did not appear to be a door. There was, however, a cat. The cat was black. Its green eyes stared wide. It grinned. "Hi!" said the cat in a meowling and excitable voice. "Are you okay? That was a big fall! Welcome to Compass District One, visitor! I'm Howl. What's your name?"
Mirror, Fox, Key - 2016 Inside the city, alarms howled. The city of Cogswall was all dank copper and tarnished brass, iron vents vomiting steam, potholes filled with rancid rainwater, churning machinery, crushing gears, dark-streaked stone, labyrinths of pipes and boilers and clockwork monstrosities. The Eminence presided over it all, assured the impoverished and desperate that hard work would bring them prosperity. Mechanical giants patrolled the streets with searchlight eyes. Dark wagons carried off the young and the accused, never to be heard from again. The only source of hope was in the markers of graves. The only source of happiness was in needles and vials. Throughout the city, alarm bells rang and horns howled -- something rare, something that hadn't happened since the forest outside the city burned in a high inferno a decade ago. A voice spoke over the loudspeakers throughout the city, crackling and monotonous: ALL ARMED POLICE AND MILITARY TO THE WALL PERIMETER. ALL MECHANICALS TO BE REPROGRAMMED OFFENSIVE. ALL WEAPONRY AT THE READY. ANNIHILATION. ANNIHILATION. There was a mass exodus to the walls: police, machines, robots, armed citizens. Monstrous mechanical tanks were released from underground bunkers. The top of the wall crowded quickly with firepower of all hellish imagination.
Whistlehowl Star - 2018 The world doesn't have a name, or has many names depending on where you happen to be standing. This is the sort of place where people get around on flying whale-buses, where forests are lit up at night by peculiar mushrooms, where vast treasures are guarded by riddling monsters. You never know when you'll be snatched up by a passing griffin or robbed by a posse of masked children. The only constant is the Vagrants, whose reputation precedes them. There are those who call themselves wandering healers, traveling spiritworkers, pirates and raiders and mercenaries, explorers of the farthest reaches -- but they're Vagrants all the same. By law there is no law that governs the Vagrants, as long as they don't spend more than three days in one place -- at which time the resident king has every right to arrest them or charge them taxes for loitering. The technology level here varies widely from place to place -- from the tribes of the desert to the ticking cities among the hills -- but nothing is more advanced than the Fallfair Clock which towers over the city of the same name.
Underwater Fire of their Eyes - 2018 In daylight, the world is a strange and whimsical place full of thick bright forests and hidden doors. The deserts teem with fairies, and selkies sing across the ocean. Animals here may be of a different size and serve a different purpose to civilization: roosters saddled like horses, rabbits kept to guard the grain against mice. Curiouser still are the cities and settlements that dot the countless islands of this world. At night the color vanishes, the laughter goes still, and the Anima rise. These are ordinary animals -- deer, fish, dogs, owls -- whose colossal size can sometimes dwarf even the highest clock-tower. Their eyes glow murkily, as if out of a tremendous depth, haunting in the dark. They are rarely hostile, but are known to be quiet, wise, and indifferent to the common problems so small below them. Different cultures have different interpretations of the Anima, but one story remains the same: when a particularly strong-willed person dies, their spirit is simply too powerful to disappear. It takes a different form instead -- one that matches the strength of the spirit.
Yowl - 2018 "Sometimes, if you look close in that gray just before dawn, you can see their eyes shining." Grandfather leaned forward, his stool creaking, bony fingers pulling his eyes comically wider in the light of the hearth. "In the shadows between the trees, or the dark in an alley, or under your bed. The Ruse are everywhere, if you know how to look, if ya know how to listen." He tugged a drooping earlobe. "Now, most of 'em are friendly, or don't care one way or another that you're lookin' at 'em -- but you listen to your gut." His veined fist pressed against his stomach. "You start to feel queasy, or scared for no reason, or you feel like something's watchin' you with no good intention, you get away quick. You run," he flicked a hand through the air, "and you don't look back."
Tin Dragon Detective Agency - 2017 Tin Dragon Detective Agency is accepting applications! Renowned for cracking the great Juniper Seed murder case, exposing the Order of the Laughing Sparrow for human trafficking, and for establishing trade relations with the United Treaties of Sharkwater, Tin Dragon pride ourselves on integrity, courage, wit, and curiosity. Applicants should be intelligent, headstrong, and willing to do what it takes to complete an assignment. Training will be provided; no experience necessary.
Moonfiend - 2016 Only the guilty, the lonely and the indebted volunteer to build that impossible wall. Periphery City is as prosperous as they come -- all clean streets and bright color and the finest technology this side of the Seventh River -- but its weakness is its terrible fear of the Grit. The first wind the queen got that the Grit have figured out how to fly, she ordered that wall to be built to the sky. Nothing unsavory would ever cross the wall, she said. Periphery was a haven of safety and peace, she said. That was before the sky was ripped in two.
Echo - 2017 You wake up to a light shining in your eyes. "Ah, good! Consciousness. Excellent." With a click the light is gone, leaving spots in your vision. While your surroundings come into focus, you hear the whirr and hiss of steampowered machinery, bubbling water, and the scribble of pen to paper. A coppery, burning smell fills the air. You were sure you had died. Is this a hospital? "Open up. Say 'Ah!'" A tongue depressor invades your mouth. "Very good. Move your fingers? And your toes. Full motor capability, good. Echo one one six, successful transmutation, body intact, subject is conscious and retains understanding of language." Your vision clears. You're lying naked in a glass-and-metal pod, staring up at a stone ceiling crisscrossed by pipes and gears, dimly illuminated by dusty caged bulbs. There are bigger machines around you and more pods like yours -- some of them filled with unmoving bodies. "Now then, hello! Please don't panic." The sprightly voice belongs to a small sandy-haired man wearing thick funny goggles with a dozen interchangeable lenses. "I'm Doctor Kelodie. You're quite safe and very much alive. What do you remember? Let's start with your name."
Unquiet - 2016 We were bound and hooded and taken to the Stone -- all of us thieves, murderers, witches and snares, all of us guilty by law. They dropped us like cattle at the bridge; while the airship took off, we were escorted inside at gunpoint. I remember a vaulted ceiling, pinpricks of sunlight, gears and mortar and something dark moving overhead -- I was shoved into my coffin and the lid was sealed. I don't know how long I was asleep. Everything has less color now than it did before; it's all dead, hollow, broken and crumbling. I don't think anyone has been here in years. I don't know where we are, nor the way home -- if home still exists. I hear movement inside the coffins . . .
The Tales of Winding - 2016 The Village of Winding is just the latest bit of civilized society to be built upon the Marsh of Dragons. The clean cobbled streets, the whitewashed stone houses and the flowers and tapestries of bright blues and yellows all sit upon the foundation of princes and giants of old. The ruins now are little more than tourist attractions and bedtime stories, destined to be forgotten among more important issues, like new velvet hats and lost pocket watches. But when the orchards sprouted fruits of strange color, the clockmaker went mad and the cats disappeared, the soothsayers and grandmothers began to whisper: something's not right in Winding.
Smolderheart - 2017 DRAGONS: Every prosperous city keeps its own Dragon to power the area's magical endeavors and to bring luck. Dragons are each unique and offer their own strengths and weaknesses. Dragons are the only known source of magic: sorcery and enchantment are only effective within a certain radius of a living Dragon. Not to be confused with chimney-dragons or hand-dragons, though these are known to be lucky as well. DEPARTMENT OF DRAGON HEALTH AND MAINTENANCE (DDHM): A division of the emperor's government which issues and maintains Dragon permits, conducts annual inspections of Dragon living conditions, and responds to Dragon-related incidents on the Dragon's behalf. Their uniforms are orange and red. CROWS: Throughout the Empire, the Crows keep order and maintain the peace. Their uniforms are black-and-gold with a feathered emblem, styled differently depending on the climate and terrain of the region. Each city and Isle has its own Murder. COLOSSI: (sing. colossus) The Colossi are popularly conceived to be a natural phenomenon, and may only be found in the untamed regions. Each Colossus appears only under very specific and unique conditions, and each has a very different (enormous) appearance. There is no known method of subduing or controlling them, but they are not usually hostile. It is widely known that each Colossus guards a trove of great riches; cities have been built with the gold and jewels obtained from a Colossus' hoard. Folklore speculates that the fiery, glowing heart of each Colossus is proof that they were created centuries ago by the Dragons to guard treasure in their absence. THE LEGERDEMAIN: A sailing ship, recently obtained through sheer luck and a Dragon's blessing, bound for a treasure-hunting adventure through the Isles, in need of a crew.
Petrichor - 2015 Three hundred years ago, your grandmother said, the last kings and castles fell to the Ruse. Nobody paid mind to them at first. They were strange, and hollow, and not quite right. They came in every shape and size -- a Ruse could be tiny as a firefly or big as a mountain -- but you could always tell them by the empty of their eyes. They were harmless, funny, creepy things that should have been left to themselves. And then the kingdoms collapsed. Kings went mad, crops failed, floods washed away whole towns, and the emperor vanished. Wars wiped out what was left. You'll hear people tell you that the Ruse are not to blame, that people are just corrupt and destructive on their own, and that's why we live now the way we do. Those people have never seen them. I pray you never will.
Candlewick - 2015 Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick. Creaking wood. The shuffle of feet above. A murmur of whispers. The rush of the ocean. The woven rope of a hammock biting into your skin. This is not where you fell asleep. Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick. A lamp burns nailed to a table; it casts shadows like monsters on the raw bark walls. A few sprigs of green grow out of the twisted fissures in the wood. Did that wall just move? No, a trick of the lamplight, surely. Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick.
Grimtooth - 2016 Someone slipped an unmarked envelope under your door. It is a fine envelope, crisp-edged and carefully wax-sealed with a symbol like a pair of wings. You have certainly seen this symbol before on the sides of regal carriages and on banners and bookbindings. Surely your door has been mistaken for that of someone of far more importance. Curious, you break the seal. Inside is an elegantly penned invitation. Lord Roderick Ancroft Fowle Requests the Pleasure of Your Company at the MASQUERADE Twenty-Fifth of November, Eighteen Hundred and Fifty-Five Seven O'Clock in the Evening Toadmere Rookery Ballroom

RANKED: STUDIO GHIBLI MOVIES (rating from highest to lowest)
Check caption on every photo to check synopsis and review. 📷 I'm so happy!
(set1 10photos)
PONYO 2008 ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆ 𝄢 One of my top Ghibli favorite movies of all time.ü 📷 Simple, adorable, and very charming characters.📷📷 • WELCOME TO A WORLD WHERE ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. The son of a sailor, 5-year old Sosuke lives a quiet life on an oceanside cliff with his mother Lisa. One fateful day, he finds a beautiful goldfish trapped in a bottle on the beach and upon rescuing her, names her Ponyo. But she is no ordinary goldfish. The daughter of a masterful wizard and a sea goddess, Ponyo uses her father’s magic to transform herself into a young girl and quickly falls in love with Sosuke, but the use of such powerful sorcery causes a dangerous imbalance in the world. As the moon steadily draws nearer to the earth and Ponyo’s father sends the ocean’s mighty waves to find his daughter, the two children embark on an adventure of a lifetime to save the world and fulfill Ponyo’s dreams of becoming human.
Added another movie poster. Coz why not? 📷
Spirited Away 2001 ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆ 𝄢 One of the best-animated films. I can't explain how I feel. It seems dramatic AF, but damnnnn... I wish that there's a second part. It's a bittersweet ending. I love it. One of the best movies I've watched this year. WHY THE HELL DID I WAIT FOR TOO LONG?! 📷📷📷 Highly recommended! 📷 • A young girl, Chihiro, becomes trapped in a strange new world of spirits. When her parents undergo a mysterious transformation, she must call upon the courage she never knew she had to free her family.
The Cat Returns 2002 ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆ 𝄢 "Always believe in yourself." -Baron Humbert Von Gikkingen One of my favorites! 📷📷 I love the characters! Specially Muta and The Baron. I enjoyed this so much. To be honest I'm not a cat person. I'm more of a dog person. But I find it entertaining. Who doesn't want to marry The Baron?! 📷📷 As always, magical and enjoyable watch. Highly recommended! • IT’S NOT SO BAD BEING A CAT, NOW IS IT? Haru, a schoolgirl bored by her ordinary routine, saves the life of an unusual cat and suddenly her world is transformed beyond anything she ever imagined. The Cat King rewards her good deed with a flurry of presents, including a very shocking proposal of marriage to his son! Haru embarks on an unexpected journey to the Kingdom of Cats where her eyes are opened to a whole other world.
My Neighbor Totoro 1988 4.5 ★ 𝄢 Sana all may kaybigan like Totoro.ü 📷📷 • Two sisters move to the country with their father in order to be closer to their hospitalized mother and discover the surrounding trees are inhabited by Totoros, magical spirits of the forest. When the youngest runs away from home, the older sister seeks help from the spirits to find her.
When Marnie Was There 2014 4.5 ★ 𝄢 This is a slow burn for me. First 45 mins. of the film was dragging. I almost give up. But I'm glad I didn't. It was beautifully made. Well-crafted characters. And OH WHAT A F*UCKING TWIST!!! That ending! 📷 OMG! I DIDN'T SEE IT COMING... I was so surprised, that I cried. I love the storyline and the plot. I hope that everyone can watch this at least once in their lifetime. 📷 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. • PROMISE WE’LL REMAIN A SECRET, FOREVER. Upon being sent to live with relatives in the countryside due to an illness, an emotionally distant adolescent girl becomes obsessed with an abandoned mansion and infatuated with a girl who lives there—a girl who may or may not be real.
Castle in the sky 1986 ★★★★ 𝄢 Very pure. Enjoyable. Just like my best friend told me for every Ghibli movie, IT'S MAGICAL AND WHIMSICAL. 📷 The characters are unforgettable. Love the ending when the pirates helped Pazu and Sheeta. 📷📷 • HAUNTING AND BRILLIANT! A young boy and a girl with a magic crystal must race against pirates and foreign agents in a search for a legendary floating castle.
Howl’s Moving Castle 2004 ★★★★ 𝄢 TIMELESS.ü I love TURNIP, Markl and Calcifer! 📷 • THE TWO LIVED THERE When Sophie, a shy young woman, is cursed with an old body by a spiteful witch, her only chance of breaking the spell lies with a self-indulgent yet insecure young wizard and his companions in his legged, walking castle.
From Up on Poppy Hill 2011 ★★★★ 𝄢 Beautifully created. Poetic. The characters are well developed. I love it. Quite anxious about where the story will go. I'm happy with the ending.ü 📷📷 • I LOOK UP AS I WALK… A group of Yokohama students fights to save their school’s clubhouse from the wrecking ball during preparations for the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. While working there, Umi and Shun gradually attract each other but face a sudden trial. Even so, they keep going without fleeing the difficulties of reality.
Only Yesterday 1991 ★★★★ 𝄢 "If today's no good, you'll have tomorrow. If tomorrow's no good, you'll have the next day." Memories of my own childhood flood back while watching this. It reflects on our own youthful days. I love it. I personally love Toshio's character. And omg that ending, my heart! 📷 📷 • I’M GOING ON A TRIP WITH ME It’s 1982, and Taeko is 27 years old, unmarried, and has lived her whole life in Tokyo. She decides to visit her family in the countryside, and as the train travels through the night, memories flood back of her younger years: the first immature stirrings of romance, the onset of puberty, and the frustrations of math and boys. At the station, she is met by young farmer Toshio, and the encounters with him begin to reconnect her to forgotten longings. In lyrical switches between the present and the past, Taeko contemplates the arc of her life, and wonders if she has been true to the dreams of her childhood self.

cirquenuit-rp application; Bii Neho
Bijou was a feral child. She grew up in a small homestead in the woods with only her survivalist father after her mother, a biologist, got sick and died when Bijou was ten. After her mother died her father began a slow descent into mental illness, but not before teaching Bijou some skills such as hunting, fishing, and the like. She could hit a rabbit between the eyes at 100 yards, and catch a salmon with her bare hands, but her father taught her other skills too. He taught her to take care of the various animals at their homestead, and she always felt a deep connection with them. Her father would often find her curled up with the dogs in their shed, and once even found her talking to a bear cub she had found. He claimed she was of their world, but Bijou just took that as the illness talking.
Bii always had to take care of her father. He would leave the outpost for days, weeks coming back with wild stories of what he saw on his trip into the mountains. She would clean him up and feed him as he told her fantastic stories about the creatures he believed to be roaming around in the Alaskan wilderness. As Bijou grew older she began to see her father’s stories for what they really were- delusions, but she could never stop him from taking his trips into the forest.
It wasn’t until her father didn’t come back from a trip that things went south. She waited for him for months while the weather around her got worse than she had even seen it. The dogs froze to death, the bears left as the streams froze and the fish died, and there wasn’t an animal to be found anywhere around the homestead. Bii knew she couldn’t wait for her father any longer so she packed up everything she needed and left home. She walked and walked only stopping to set up camp for the night. Weak and hungry Bii walked until she found herself in Russia. In a foreign place where she didn’t speak the language or know the customs.
She would wander around the cities day and night, sleeping in parks, on benches, and in abandoned buildings. Bii began stealing food and supplies she couldn’t hunt or make herself. She did what she had to do to survive- Just like her father taught her. And when she saw posters for an international circus her curiosity was piqued. Sneaking into the big top Bii watched the performers in awe, and after the show she couldn’t help but sneak backstage to see the animals she saw during the performance. Some she had only seen in books like the tigers and the elephants, others she already had a connection with like the bears. She sat there with the animals for what felt like a long time. Talking to them, petting them, getting to know them. When she heard the call to pack up and hit the road Bii stowed herself away in the bear cage, and for the first time in a long time she found somewhere warm to sleep where she felt safe.
When an animal handler found her at the next stop they were surprised she was even alive, and after Bii all but refused to leave she was taken on by the circus. With Bii’s broad rage of skills there really isn’t anything she doesn’t do in the circus. She isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty whether it’s setting up rides, emptying trash cans, or working in the kitchen- Bii does it all. Her favorite thing by far is taking care of the animals. Bijou is a quiet and thoughtful person, but this is sometimes confused with stupidity or ignorance. It’s not uncommon for her to get confused by things she didn’t grow up around, such as certain technology, and this leads to embarrassing situations for her causing her to be extremely shy and guarded around new people. It takes a while to gain her trust, but if you’re willing to look past her shyness you’ll find an extremely loyal friend. Once you get to know her you’ll find she can be bubbly and excitable, and if you’re having a bad day she always has a whimsical story to tell, or a fun adventure to go on. As a jack of all trades she has many skills she has mastered and is always looking for more to add to her repertoire. She’s strong both emotionally and physically, but achieves emotional stability by burying bad feelings and thoughts deep inside her. She’s a watcher and can often be found people watching or spying. She knows a lot more than she should, but keeps her secrets to herself.
tl;dr
History

Fun Facts
Bii is an incredible sharp shooter (with guns, bow and arrow, knives, axes)
Almost always sleeps with the animals in their cages instead of her caravan
Loves climbing things and often practices parkour
Was taught hand to hand combat as a small child and can take down a person over twice her size

Benvenuto a Butchart Gardens
Cynthia Brian’s Gardening Guide for October https://www.lamorindaweekly.com/archive/issue1316/Cynthia-Brians-Gardening-Guide-for-October-Benvenuto-to-Butchart-Gardens.html
Benvenuto to Butchart Gardens by Cynthia Brian
“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
O Canada!
After a hot summer of weeding, pruning, mowing, cleaning, composting, and tidying my plots, traveling to Victoria in British Columbia was a welcome respite. Despite the cold and inclement weather on Vancouver Island, we set out to explore the extraordinary National Historic Site of Canada in Brentwood Bay known as The Butchart Gardens.
In 1904, the Butchart family built their home amongst sheltered Tod Inlet surrounded by forests and fields in an area where there were limestone deposits, the perfect conditions for establishing a cement plant. They named the location, “Benvenuto”, meaning “welcome” in Italian. Mr. Butchart’s first barge-load of cement sailed from the inlet in 1905 for sale to Canadian cities. As rocks were gathered and piled in select locations and soil was brought in by the wagonloads, the quarry soon metamorphosed into the show-stopping sunken gardens. Every site for planting was meticulously chosen and a lake was created from the deepest part of the quarry, fed by a waterfall and stream.
Still owned and maintained by the Butchart family, the 55 acres of gardens continue to evolve, expand, and attract. Over a million visitors a year flock to this oasis of calm and beauty. Today separate gardens include the Rose, Italian, Mediterranean, Japanese, and Sunken Garden. Numerous waterscapes abound. There are boat tours at Butchart Cove, fireworks in the evening, restaurants, tea time, and even a Carousel with thirty hand-carved animals that delight children and kids-at-heart alike.
Although I was enamored by the entire landscape, it was the Sunken Garden that captured my imagination. As an avid and very diligent gardener, I can only imagine the amount of labor that was involved in creating a lush and elegant horticultural masterpiece from a rough, grim, grey quarry of jagged rocks. As I meandered around the paths admiring the handiwork of years of devotion from hundreds of talented plant smiths, I was thrilled to see that the gorgeous flowers blooming in the beds and cascading over the stone banks, were plants that I grow in my California garden. Dahlias, roses, begonias, New Guinea impatiens, cannas, camellias, salvias, rhododendrons, geraniums, petunias, hydrangeas, alliums, acanthus, astilbes, arums, snapdragons, zinnias, euphorbias, fuchsias, heliotropes, hostas, lantanas, marigolds, and even an entire swatch of deep green shamrocks, also known as oxalis, blanketed this serene environment. It was such fun to pass a grouping and be able to answer my husband’s constant question: “What is this called?”
But one plant truly stumped me. I had never seen it before and although the entrance ticket includes a small flower and plant guide to the most popular species in the garden, I didn’t know what this plant was. Thankfully, The Butchart Gardens has a Plant Identification Center with knowledgeable plant people. I snapped a photo and showed it to the expert. “This is a tropical plant that we will soon put in the greenhouse to overwinter. It’s called a “Popcorn Plant” because it smells like buttered popcorn.” How marvelous to learn something new every day!
The camellias and rhododendrons were budding but not in bloom and I can only imagine how sensational the grounds must be when they burst into flower. Every season brings new annuals and bulbs. Spring is filled with tulips, crocus, and daffodils reflecting a love for the Netherlands. There are over 900 bedding plant varieties, 26 greenhouses, and 50 full-time gardeners.
A forest of trees including maples, madrones, dogwoods, magnolias, flowering cherry, weeping sequoias, poplars, beeches, and Golden chain trees anchor the scene. There were two unusual and unique trees encased in a rock-walled garden, the Monkey Puzzle Tree, definitely a conifer, but not one I’d seen before.
Wherever I travel, I seek out gardens that will inspire and instruct me to be a better steward of our earth. Butchart Gardens is exquisitely and elegantly designed. With a plethora of water features including streams, lakes, waterfalls, and fountains, I was transported to a place of sheer joy and tranquility. Totem poles, bronzes, statuary, and whimsical moss-covered wire sculptures offer a nod to the artistic value of landscaping. To walk in the footsteps of those who lived a hundred years ago knowing that they lavished love on this land, preserving it for posterity as well as the enjoyment and education of the general public was simultaneously humbling and enlightening.
Life was created in a garden. A garden is life unfolding. I returned to my California countryside as October beckons with the changing of the foliage wardrobe and, motivated by my sojourn, immediately got to work with a spark of a new beginning for digging deeper. Although my property will unlikely ever be a Butchart or Giverny, it is my personalized refuge of sweet repose.
O Canada, thank you. Benvenuto October.
