Okay, so this post popped up in the smalletho tag as I was starting Etho's Double Life Episode 5 (the one where everything burns) & I was like, 'oh ha ha, okay, nice.'

But then I saw it having finished said episode & was like. Ren. Dude. Barking up the wrong tree, bro. I know Joel's got a reputation, but frankly, I'd be more worried about Etho being out of control.

But as I was typing tags saying such, I was like. Wait. & I went back & rewatched that bit & much to my utter amazement (but also delight & vindication),

Ren told Etho to control his wife literally within a minute of Etho charging at Ren, shouting "Burn it all! Burn it all!" while lighting Ren as well as all the blocks beneath & around him on fire, & then running away & shouting about how he's "a little unhinged right now."

Etho is trying his damnedest to burn down a bridge almost entirely made of unburnable blocks & repeatedly setting himself on fire in the process when Ren shouts at him to control his wife.

Like. That's not just making an incorrect assumption about the situation.

That's the situation setting you & everything else on fire & then immediately making wildly incorrect assumptions about what the situation is.

thinking abt how in Double Life when Joel and Etho are burning down everything Ren yells “ETHO YOUVE GOTTA CONTROL YOUR WIFE”
