who was your favorite Spongebob character before Slappy?

Spongebob! The golden boy and title character of the show. I think that's a little obvious because I run a Spongebob blog and I'm a diehard spongebob fan. Obviously the title character is my favorite. Why else would I have a shrine of Spongebob merch? He's my boy! He's the bestest boy. You know I didn't understand why spongebob fans would fixate on some side character or any other character that isn't Spongebob. I was like "but the best character is literally right there! He's the title character! Why do y'all like squidward so much??". No beef about Squidward or other characters. I just thought spongebob was THE best character on the show and I liked the rest but I didn't get why you wouldn't favor the title character. It's ironic now isn't it? That slappy is pretty much (nearly?) Tied with Spongebob in my heart and he's one of the most hated characters in the show. I will die for both of them fr💯

Anyways my fave has always been Spongebob. Sometimes another character too but sponge always remained on top. As a kid it was Spongebob and Sandy (gravitated to tomboyish characters HARD). Right now it's spongebob and Slappy. It's pretty ironic now since the episode Squidferatu/Slappy Daze. Slappy is just a horror version of Spongebob. Of course I liked Slappy as his own thing. I liked him long before the horror spongebob stuff was added. I just liked him because he was funny and also kinda uncomfortable and I like that balance. Also strangely very adorable, it kinda scratches a brain itch. Plus he was just such an anomaly. I know people complain that he doesn't fit the show but somehow that's what I liked most. He just shows up without an explaination, doing weird things or whatever like some strange foreign creature and I needed more of it. It really fueled my interest in Peter Lorre by extension because my obsession kicked into high gear around his second/third-ish appearance in the patrick show. He doesn't get much screen time and it was the very beginning of the show. I was DESPERATE for content so Peter parodies + Peter Lorre movies were my sustenance and life blood.

I should make a Peter Lorre shrine. I hope to steal his ashes and start a cult around it some day :D

I'm rambling. This is supposed to be about Porifera-Robert, my boy. My pal. My good spongey friend. I like watching him when I feel down and he'll forever remain in my heart as my most favorite character EVER. Nobody can knock him off the pedestal. Even if I give Slappy a little more attention these days. I will always adore my little spongey boy. My shrine of Spongebob plushies stare me down as I sleep. I hope they come to life and kill me one day <3 I would sell my soul to spongebob if I could. I sorta feel like I already did :D

Slappy and Spongebob both forever my bby gurls <3 and they're both voiced by Tom Kenny! :D so by extension is Tom Kenny a bby gurl?
