What is large format porcelain?
Large format porcelain refers to porcelain tiles or slabs that are significantly larger than traditional tiles, typically measuring at least 24 inches (60 cm) on one side, but often much larger. They are increasingly popular in both residential and commercial design due to their sleek, modern appearance and versatility.
Key Features of Large Format Porcelain:
Size:
Common dimensions include 24x48 inches, 36x72 inches, or even larger slabs up to 10 feet (3 meters) long.
Thickness can vary, with some as thin as 3-6 millimeters for wall applications and others thicker for flooring.
Material:
Made from high-quality porcelain, which is dense, durable, and non-porous.
Often manufactured using advanced technologies like digital printing for realistic designs.
Design Versatility:
Available in various finishes, including polished, matte, textured, and honed.
Mimics materials like natural stone, concrete, wood, or metal with stunning realism.
Applications:
Floors and walls: Ideal for creating seamless looks in open spaces.
Countertops: Thin porcelain slabs are often used for custom countertops due to their durability and heat resistance.
Outdoor use: Some are suitable for facades and patios.
Benefits:
Aesthetic Appeal: Fewer grout lines create a more continuous, elegant surface.
Durability: Highly resistant to scratches, stains, moisture, and wear.
Low Maintenance: Easy to clean and maintain compared to natural stone.
Lightweight Options: Thin slabs reduce weight for easier installation and use in more applications.
Eco-Friendly: Often made from recyclable materials and produced with energy-efficient processes.

POST GRIFFITH TORTURE RENASSIANCE!!! i keep staring at your art of griffith's broken stare with the bandages wrapped across his face and his emaciated little corpse beside guts...
I read this ao3 fic about his struggle with recovery in an aftermath where he doesn't go apeshit. *offers it to you gently* https://archiveofourown.org/works/609721
it made me think, as a certified griffith expert, what do you think his recovery may have looked like? could anything possibly have still made him happy after all of that... or at least minorly not-miserable? what kinds of things do you think he'd enjoy in such a state?
would he even try to grow out his hair?
The Renaissance that really constricts our hearts!! I remember when first learning Berserk, it was the transformation Griffith has after the torture that got its hooks into me and compelled me to read the series. The rest is history. Thank you so much btw! I've only drawn him a few times but it feels like more in my heart. Thank you for sending that fic my way! (I'm super into gen fic and that is a good one) *Certified Griffith Expert* AHH! That's sweet! I'd like a badge or something after this long LOL. First off, this ask has given me SUCH AN ITCH to pick 'Iron Hawk' back up (my fan project about Griffith being rescued from the Tower early and the aftermath of that. It's my baby) I'm thinking about maybe using a different, more sustainable format by writing multi-chapter fanfiction with accompanying illustrations. But I assume you mean a scenario about his recovery after the canon full year of torture. Interesting. I actually haven't put a ton of thought into that because, morbidly, I have a hard time imagining any outcome after that amount of trauma where he isn't doomed. So assuming this is a world in which he is able to make some progress in his recovery that allows him to regain some mobility and use of his hands, I could see a return of the bandit era. I could see Judeau with his ingenuity and the help of other Hawks working together to fashion him a kind of wheelchair. A Merlin chair wouldn't fit with the time period but you get the idea! Maybe he eventually uses a cane and back brace. He grows his hair out but it never comes back as thick or as long. He shows his face again but rotates a collection of partial porcelain masks to cover the worst of his scars. If his hands heal enough, he learns sign language, writes with the tip of his finger in people's palms and writes with a large pen or quill. (edit: I've recently been totally swayed by your post about him relearning to speak and whispering to his trusted inner circle. I'm SOLD) I think his band would continue to whittle down until only the most loyal remained. The core members who would inevitably transform back into his friends. He used to protect himself from 'friends' with compartmentalization when they were among the thousands of Hawks under his command. I think that Griffith's life during recovery would be hell but he could find happiness in his inner circle reducing to a small group. Like when he was a kid. I think with the deterioration of his body, it could be possible that his mind goes into overdrive. The frail, mute, mysterious general who is even more of a political/military genius. No more White Hawk. He is just 'Griffith' or 'General' or 'The prisoner'. After enough banditry and roaming, the group reclaims a comfortable position in a land away from political enemies. Griffith gives up on his dream and focuses on fulfilling the promise of his vision to just these few people. He is even able to preform Robin Hood-like feats in the countryside. Outlaw goodness, that sort of thing. He doesn't retire himself though. I have a dark outlook. I think he probably satisfies himself with this twilight campaign, sees his remaining friends in positions of security and wealth and when all is said and done he eventually claims his own life. I think Guts is the last one with him when he is finally finished.

You Kissed the Clown? Part 4
Ok, this chapter got out of hand. I had been dwelling on it for a little while before I did a final few readthroughs. There might be still some grammatical errors and formatting issues, but here it is!
Word count: 4,675 (I am so, so sorry!)
Part 3 is here.
Tumblr media
After marinating in the deep warm liquid of the large porcelain tub for what you deemed to be an appropriate amount of time, you stepped out of the soapy liquid and dried yourself with a large, fluffy towel. Placing a robe from within the bathroom around yourself and gathering your pile of dirty clothes, you made your way back down the hall to find the guest quarters containing your friends.
Your hair was wrapped up in the fluffy towel in an attempt to dry the strands with more haste than simply air drying it. Your bare feet being the only sounds omitting from the long hallway, you strained your ear to hear light conversation coming from the guest quarters. You reached for the door handle, let out a deep breath and made to face your mismatched crew of straw-hat pirates.
“Oh my dear, how was your bath?” Nami asked you once she saw your form entering the space.
“It was relaxing, thank you,” you responded with a sweet smile. You raked your eyes over her and studied the fine clothes she was wearing.
“Wow, red is absolutely your colour!” you exclaimed at her, gesturing to the dress she had chosen to wear for the evening.
“Where were you when I needed you, tinkerer?” she smiled before turning to Zoro and Luffy, “this is what I was talking about. You guys didn’t give me anything to work with!”
Zoro scoffed and craned his head back to stare at the ceiling while Luffy craned his head to the side in confusion.
“I said you still looked like Nami,” he shrugged, “and you do! What was I meant to say?”
You rolled your eyes and laced your arm in Namis, leading her to the vanity and sitting her on the stool in front of it.
“I’m thinking hair up?” you suggested with a downturned smile, quirking your eyebrow in suggestion. She shrugged and looked over her features.
“Definitely an updo,” you said, gesturing to her short locks. You used your eyes to ask permission to touch her hair, to which she nodded in response, “maybe a few face-framing pieces down. Lower to the nape of your neck I think. With some feathers?”
Her eyes seemed to brighten just a little as she nodded at your suggestion. You picked up the brush on the counter of the vanity and began to draw her hair into the palms of your hands and twirl pieces around your fingers. You heard Zoro move to the place behind the changing shield and begin removing his bathrobe and sorting through the clothes he had chosen.
“What are you wearing, Captain?” you called over your shoulder while holding your gaze on the locks of the orange-haired woman sat in front of you.
“Nami picked out these for me,” he said with a broad smile, “classy, no?”
You brought your eyes up to view your captain in the silver lined mirror in front of you, looking over the dark vest and pant combination held in front of him.
“Very you, love,” you nodded, returning your eyes to the hair in front of you as you began pinning some of the pieces in place. You smiled slightly, catching Nami fawning slightly over herself as you fashioned her hair to suit your vision.
“How did you get so good at this?” she asked you, meeting your eyes in the vanity, “this girly stuff.”
“My mother,” you responded with a smile, “she used to wear her hair showcasing several of our handmade pieces to demonstrate our craft to the customers in the shop.”
You placed a few white-tipped feathers in Nami’s lower bun, securing them with several small brass pieces. Nami nodded slightly for you to continue talking.
“And when she deemed me ready,” you said, focussing on one brass piece and slotting it within her hair, “that task fell to me.”
You smiled at your work, placing your hands on her shoulders and bringing your face down to her level and looked at her in the vanity.
“You’re really good,” she commented, turning her head slightly to gaze at the back. You picked up a smaller mirror and held it to the back of her hair and angled it in a way she could see the rear of her updo.
“Thank you,” you responded warmly. She offered you a sincere smile and you placed your hand once more on her shoulder.
You heard Zoro cough, prompting you to turn to view his attire. You let out a low whistle and Nami nodded in approval at the dark suit he chose with a tanned shirt beneath it.
“Nice ensemble, swordsman,” you complimented him with an arched brow, which he in turn smiled at the ground in response to your words, almost bashfully.
“Now,” Nami said, interrupting your train of thought slightly while rising from her seat at the vanity, “lets sort you out. Can’t have you attending dinner in a bath robe with your hair in a damp towel.”
You laughed at her comment and followed her lead to the many racks containing a vast collection of tinted silks, satins, chiffon, cotton and feathers. Several items drew you in, but one in particular had you buzzing slightly. A deep, blue dress held you in a trance as you pictured the colour matching the irises of your newly infatuation’s eyes. You reached for the material and smoothed your hands over the frock. Several layers of tulle, fine satin and chiffon fell over the gown with a corset-style back. You held the fabric as you imagined yourself being twirled before being held in the arms of the clown captain. Your eyes began to glaze over as you leant in to your fantasy, imagining the music playing as he held your body against his and whispered his loving desires into your hairline.
“That one?” you heard Zoro ask over your shoulder, noticing how close he truly was to you. This immediately broke the spell you felt over encumbered by. You shook your head before presenting the material to him.
“Oh, I’m sorry Zoro. Did you want to wear it?” you taunted him while removing the hanger from the rack and holding it up to his torso and furrowed your brows in playfulness, “not really your colour.”
You heard Nami laugh as she continued to sift through the racks for something more appropriate than a ballgown for you to wear to dinner. You laughed and turned to put the dress back onto the hanger, only to have your movements halted by Zoro grasping your wrist lightly.
“You’re thinking about the clown again, aren’t you,” he murmured in your ear, in a low enough tone that only you (to your current knowledge) would be exposed to. You inhaled sharply before shaking your head and putting the gown back onto the rack and turning to face him. While training with him and discussing the prior battle he engaged with against Buggy, he noticed how your expression changed. Your posture would stand slightly less alert, eyes glazed over slightly as you pictured the shared kiss in your mind again.
You challenged him with your eyes, opting to not speak to give yourself away. The way his eyes searched yours left an unsettling feeling in your chest.
“You know he’s murdered potentially millions, destroyed towns and nearly killed us, right?” he asked you, holding his hard gaze. You felt a small wave of sadness come over you at the thought of the violent crimes he had committed in his acts of piracy.
“You can’t change a person that far gone,” he uttered to you, breaking his gaze from you to look at your captain, “and if you leave, it’ll break him.”
You followed Zoro’s gaze to look at your captain, now freshly adorning his vest and pants. He reached up to readjust his straw hat and smiled broadly at you both.
“What do you think?” Luffy asked, and without missing a beat; Nami responded.
“You look like Luffy,” she yelled over her shoulder. You saw the captain smile and nod his head in response.
“You’re right. I do look like Luffy,” he confirmed, sitting down on the plush stool in the centre of the room again.
You felt Zoro remove his hand from your wrist and place it on your shoulder as he leant in closer to you and whispered into your ear.
“You can do better than some psychotic clown,” he said before releasing your shoulder from his grasp and turning to take up his swords and fix them on his hip. You furrowed your brows and pursed your lips, shaking your head slightly at the words and continuing to sort through the materials.
“This is the one,” you heard the voice of Nami call from a rack several isles over.
You turned your head to look at the dress she was cradling in her arms. The way you could describe the outfit she was holding out to you would be whimsical. Something from within the pages of the novels you would read while attending the shop back home.
You smiled broadly and took the dress from her arms with a wide smile.
“This is beautiful,” you commented, immediately taking the dress behind the changing screen and pooling the robe at your feet. You stepped into the dress and brought it over your hips first, before placing your arms in the sleeves and pulling it over your torso. You stepped out from behind the screen to reveal the dress. Nami smiled at you as you presented your back to her.
“Would you mind doing me up?” you asked her, pulling the strands of your drying hair over your shoulder to aid her with her task.
“This looks so good on you!” she commented, placing her hand on your zipper and pulling it to the hilt. You walked over to the vanity and looked yourself over, nodding in affirming her words.
“You’re right, it suits me,” you declared while running your fingers through your hair and beginning to fashion it in a style you were accustomed to wearing in your family’s shop. You placed several sentimental pieces of jewellery in your hair, interlacing them between several braids you managed to weave in a few minutes.
A knock appeared at the door, indicating it was time to commence the birthday meal of Miss Kaya, you walked to the side of your captain with a smile.
“Well,” he said, “let’s go eat!”
He offered his arm to you, which you took with a laugh and allowed him to escort you to the foyer where several variety of hors d’ouevres were being offered on silver platters by the staff. You accepted a class of sparkling wine from the tray while retracting your arm from Luffy’s elbow.
Luffy sprung to commence his dining experience, opting to skip the beverages and go straight to the source of the delicious smell he had been craving. You were left alone slightly, as Zoro was speaking with Klahadore, Nami was conversing with Usopp and Kaya while the other members of staff would offer trays of food and beverages to your crew and another man who was introduced to you as ‘Merry’.
You continued to have the uneasy feeling of being watched by someone, often peaking from the corners of your eyes to catch the source in the act – only to find nothing awaiting your gaze. You sighed and raised the champagne flute to your lips and took a small sip of the tart, bubbling liquid.
“Something the matter?” you heard a voice purr to you, pulling you from your trance to meet the gaze of Klahadore. You felt yourself jump a little at his introduction, bringing your attention fully onto him. You sighed before smiling at him, hoping he did not sense your uneasiness at his presence.
“I’ve not had a good pampering for some while, Mister Klahadore,” you said with a warm smile, “I’ve been at sea for longer than I ought to have been, I think.”
He hummed in response, offering you a fresh glass of champagne; which you accepted graciously. He took the empty glass from your hand and replacing it with the full one, “you seem to be one affiliated with the finer things in life.”
“I have been educated, yes,” you responded, narrowing your eyes slightly at his accusation.
“I mean no disrespect,” he said, using the palm of his hand to adjust his glasses closer to his eyes, “you just do not seem like one suited for piracy.”
You maintained your narrowed eye contact, scepticism displayed in questioning his unintentionality of the subtle jab.
“Yet here you are,” he continued, pausing between each word.
“Here I am,” you confirmed with a smile, raising your glass to your lips and sipping at the wine while looking over to make eye contact with the swordsman of the crew. You widened your eyes at him, hoping for him to catch on to your subtle cry for help at being left alone with this unsettling figure. As unaware as one could be in this type of situation, Zoro pointed to the butler with his chin and shook his head in question. You mentally screamed at him, hoping for some unnatural telepathic ability to inflict great harm on the clueless swordsman before attempting to calm yourself and returning your gaze to the butler at your side.
“You’ll be escorted to the workshop after supper,” he said with a twinge in the corner of his mouth before continuing with a small list, “there will be a work bench, some oil, some better tweezers, screws, nuts, bolts, a red hot poker, soldering metal, a blackened glass visor, magnifying glass, and to rehash your words; how did you put it?”
You widened your eyes as Klahadore leant in ever so slightly to your ear and purred into it like one would taunt a helpless, flightless infantile bird.
“A bloody stiff drink,” he uttered with a small chuckle in your ear. You sharply inhaled a breath at this comment and stepped slightly away from the butler, prompting him to teeter his laughter slightly and readjust his glasses before adding, “I’ll escort you myself after I lay Miss Kaya to rest in her chambers.”
You nodded your head to him with an uneasy smile, confirming your attendance before walking over to the place Zoro was standing.
“What the hell was that,” you whispered in a berating manner at him.
“What the hell was that,” he said in the same hushed tone, gesturing to the place you were once standing in with the butler, “when I said you could do better than the clown, I didn’t mean moving on from one unhinged weirdo to the next.”
“What the hell, Zoro,” you hissed at him through clenched teeth, “I was giving you the signal.”
“That you wanted to kiss him? Yeah, I saw,” he whispered back.
You groaned at the comment, using all of your willpower to not smack the swordsman upside the head. Breaking you out of your thoughts, you were alerted to the beginning of the dinner by Klahadore as he escorted Miss Kaya to the head of the table.
“I’ll give you a lesson on what the signal is later, swordsman,” you hissed at him, brushing past him and plastering a fake smile on your features as you entered the dining room.
Unlike your companions, you had been trained in debutant-like manners in your education for formal negotiations with upper-classed individuals. You waited for Klahadore to ensure Miss Kaya was comfortably sat in her chair before reaching for your own to take a seat, unlike Zoro, Luffy, Usopp and Nami who sat down as soon as they found their designated chairs. You mentally sighed at their inappropriate table manners before nodding to Miss Kaya and taking a seat at the table.
You commenced your meal after Miss Kaya took her fist bite, enjoying the meal so dutifully prepared for you; choosing to keep yourself away from engaging in conversation with the troop. You were feeling so unlike yourself, completely thrown by the act you had committed days prior. Usually, you displayed your bubbly, semi-flirtatious and intelligent personality with an organic ease. You furrowed your brows at the thought that the clown had a fierce hold on your very soul, a pull urging you to bring yourself over to him and give in to your unbridled emotions.
And at this thought, you finally snapped. You refused to dwell on the improbable circumstances of ever seeing Captain Buggy again, and especially foster a romantic relationship with the; as Zoro so eloquently put it: some psychotic clown. You had come too far in your crafting skills, education and ability to challenge a persons apprehensions with your charisma to throw it all away to be some love-struck puppy for a powerful sea-captain on an insane rampage. You shook your head from your thoughts and plastered a smile on your face and began to make conversation with Merry who was seated beside you.
You were shocked when Luffy decided to stand up on the table and walk over to the woman who had so openly invited to host you within her halls that your words halted in your throat, causing you to do nothing but to gawk at the scene presented before you.
“Everyone, out of this house at once!” Klahadore demanded, to which Kaya responded.
“No,” she said with a gentle cough, “it’s late. Let them stay the night.”
Klahadore reached for Kaya, bringing her to her feet and beginning to escort her to her bedchambers.
“As you wish, Miss Kaya,” he relented, “but they are to be out first thing in the morning.”
He led her up the stairs, causing you to rise to your feet and bid Kaya goodnight.
“Well, that went pretty well,” exclaimed Luffy with a playful smile, “don’t you think?”
Silence engulfed the dinner guests seated around the table as they all contemplated the sheer ignorance of their young captain. You rolled your head back with closed eyes, hearing a slight click front your left side as you groaned at the knowledge you were about to undertake handling a potentially dangerous item for the cat-like butler.
“I’m retiring to the guest quarters,” you exclaimed, turning with a smile to the ram-looking Merry and giving him a polite bow.
“Sleep well,” he said with a wide smile. You gestured with your eyes to your remaining comrades and suggested with a subtle crane of your neck to exit from the dining room. Nami sprung to her feet after pushing her chair back in response to your gaze. Zoro creased his brows and shook his head in question, prompting you to roll your eyes.
“At least someone understands what ‘the signal’ is,” you said under your breath, linking your arms with Nami and escorting one another up the stairs towards the suite you were all sharing.
You both walked in silence towards the room, enjoying being in the comfort of just the two of you. She seemed to pay close attention to several of the more shiny pieces littering the many benches throughout the hall as you walked.
“Did you live in a place like this?” she asked you, continuing to fix her gaze on a gold-dipped light fixture.
“Absolutely not,” you replied with a small smile, “I grew up with my siblings in an apartment above the shop.”
She hummed in response, continuing the slow pace you kept on your way to the suite.
“You would work with stuff like this, though?” she unlaced your arms and picked up a pristine silver box and weighed it in her palm, “rich people, stuff.”
You sighed and took the box from her hands, “yes, I worked with this stuff.” You placed the item back on the bench before turning to smile at her.
“What do you want me to say?” you asked her with a shrug, “that we were well off? That I was exposed to the finer things in life?”
She creased her brows and crossed her arms at your comments. You sighed and took a step towards her.
“Look, Nami,” you said, placing your hands on her shoulders, “I did overhear parts of your conversation with Zoro. Eat the rich and all that.”
She unlaced her arms and widened her eyes a little at your statement.
“Wealth doesn’t equate to happiness,” you said, searching your gaze into hers, “and every penny I earnt was spent running the shop, and caring for my fourteen younger siblings when my mother passed.”
She let out a small gasp at your declaration and gave you a look of slight sympathy.
“Now,” you said, releasing her shoulders from your gentle grasp with a smile, “let’s agree to not judge one another for our histories and move on. I won’t pity you or pry your past from you, and we don’t question one another’s life choices, yeah?”
She nodded slightly at your words and you both continued on to your chambers.

Holding a hand up to his missing ear, the famed clown captain sat atop his stage chair and hanging on to every word he managed to hear you disclose from its place among he assumed was the bottom of a skirt? His feet were both dangling over the left arm of the chair as he rested his head on the right arm, laying completely down on his back on the firm, wooden base.
He recalled letting out an insane amount of laughter at the fact that he had manage to unintentionally woo you with a simple kiss exchanged between you. He did not restrain his chuckles as he eaves-dropped the private conversation you seemed to be engaging with yourself about in the showers.
“How could this particular woman be so desperate for me,” he maliciously spat with an air of smug confidence surrounding him, “all I did was threaten her and in response, she kissed me.”
He laughed again, kicking his feet slightly at how utterly ridiculous the whole situation was. He pressed the blank space his right ear was no longer attached to and continued to listen to you argue with yourself.
“It wasn’t even that good of a kiss anyhow,” he heard you mutter to yourself in an echoing room.
“Not that good of a kiss, my right ass-cheek,” he growled, sitting up from his reclining position and planting his feat on the ground, leaning forward and resting his arms on his knees, “it blew your absolute mind, baby. You’re crazy about me!”
He smirked at his own comment, before an uneasy feeling in the pit of his chest began to grow slightly.
“I didn’t even enjoy it that much,” he heard you say, also listening to the sound of a tap filling something large.
“Didn’t enjoy it that much?!” He yelled in a slight fit of rage, bringing the attention of Cabaji as he entered the tent. Buggy’s frown deepened at your words as he felt his chest bubble slightly at the feeling of inadequacy.
“Who are you talking to, Captain?” he asked.
“Shut-up!” he barked at him, “get out, I’m busy!”
Cabaji held his hands out defensively in front of himself and backed away slowly to return to the green room, leaving Buggy alone with his thoughts.
Buggy had a deep frown plastered on his face as he continued to hang onto every word he heard escape your lips.
“He could’ve been faking,” he heard you whisper to yourself, “it could’ve all been an act, a trick to lull me into a false sense of security, only to kill me after he was done with whatever he was doing with Luffy.”
“No,” he felt himself whimper slightly at your comment, dropping his frown and widening his eyes. The pit in his chest appeared to be growing and overcoming him slightly. He brought his other hand up to his lips and traced them with his fingertips lightly, attempting to bring the memory of the taste of you back to his skin.
His memory was flooded with your tender touch. His immediate reaction to push you away and inflict harm on you for daring to pull his body into yourself completely dissipated as you gently brought his body flush against your own and placed your lips against his. He remembered his sinister frown falling away from his brows as they turned upward in shock as he whimpered like some touch-starved stray animal against your embrace. Against his better judgement, he wanted nothing more than to hold you there for as long as you were willing to freely give him. He remembered lacing his gloved hand into your hair and pulling you gently into his embrace, squeezing the soft flesh of your back.
He had never felt a touch like yours before. This was his first encounter with another person so willing to freely express this amount of affection to him, he never wanted to part from your embrace – even ignoring the fact he felt you reach into his pocket to claim one of his throwing knives. He didn’t care if you were going to attempt to stab him in that moment, he would survive and you would look completely and utterly stupid. He was enjoying your touch and didn’t want to tear himself away from your clutches to brace himself for something as small as a dagger in his side.
While bracing himself in expectation of feeling the sharp object to be pried into the flesh you were exposing beneath his jacket, he felt your hands begin to explore his flesh, prompting a unrestrained moan to escape his lips. He wanted more. He wanted all of you, to be with you completely. If you were not holding him so firmly against yourself, he felt as if he would’ve become a puddle of broken pieces below your feet. Your touch brought him to his knees, in a hypothetical sense.
He cradled the empty space his right ear was missing from and felt overcome with the need to be in your presence. He was brought from his concentration on your words as he shook his head to bring him back into the present.
“What the hell?” he asked himself, looking at the position he was sitting in while cradling his ear, “why am I so focussed on you? I don’t even know your name!”
He gasped as he heard the final words escape from between your lips in a tone just above a whisper.
“I think I’m in love with Buggy the Clown.”
His jaw grew slack as he opened it in shock, the feeling in his chest warming his torso with an uncomfortable new emotion. His body slumped back into the broad backboard of his chair as he shook his head slightly, mouth continuing to hang agape in shock.
He felt his eyes begin to glaze over slightly, replaying your final words over and over again within his mind like a well-lit merry go round.
“That’s-,” he uttered in a voice below a soft murmur, “that’s all I ever wanted.”
He felt the well within his chest overflow and shoot tingles throughout his body. He closed his jaw and gulped back the saliva collected in his mouth as he continued to focus on your confession. He dropped his hand down from the empty space beside his head and hung it beside his shocked body. He looked down at his chest as the warmth continued to spread over his form as he came to understand the emotion he was feeling.
“Oh fuck,” he whispered with a wide grin forming on his face, a subtle bashfulness arising alongside a large warmth to his cheeks, “I love you too, baby.”
He let out a teetering giggle with a twinkle in his eyes as he came to terms with the adoration he had developed for you. He couldn’t wait to see you again, to tease you before pulling you into his arms. His love, his queen. His.

there was some Twitter madness recently where someone left a comment on someone's art to the effect of, "Ed shouldn't wear a dress, he's a man!" which I do disagree with on principle, but unfortunately, it brought out one of my least favourite trends in the fandom
so, naturally, I had to write a twitter essay about it. and I already largely argued this in a post here, but the thread is clearer and better structured, so I thought I'd cross-post for those not on the Hellsite (derogatory). edited for formatting/structure's sake, since I no longer have to keep to tweet lengths, and incorporating a couple of points other people brought up in the replies
so
I want to point out that the wedding cake toppers in OFMD s2 aren't evidence that Ed wants to wear dresses. Gender is fake, men can wear skirts, play with these dolls how you like, but it's not canon, and that scene especially Doesn't Mean That.
People cite it often: 'He put himself in a dress by painting the bride as himself! It's what he wants!' But that fundamentally misunderstands the scene, and the series' framing of weddings as a whole. I'd argue that Ed paints the figure not from desire, but from self-hatred; it's not what he wants, but what he thinks he should, and has failed to, be.
(Yes, I am slightly biased by my rampant anti-marriage opinions, but bear with me here, because it is relevant to the interpretation of the scene, and season two as a whole.)
The show is not subtle. It keeps telling us that the institution of marriage is a prison that suffocates everyone involved. Ed's parents' cycle of abuse is passed to their son in both the violence he witnesses then enacts on his father, and the self-repression his mother teaches, despite her good intentions ("It's not up to us, is it? It's up to God. ... We're just not those kind of people. We never will be."). Stede and Mary are both oppressed by their arranged marriage, with 1x04 blunty titled Discomfort in a Married State. The Barbados widows revel in their freedom ("We're alive. They're dead. Now is your time").
But even without this context, the particular wedding crashed in 2x01 is COMICALLY evil. The scene is introduced with this speech from the priest:
"The natural condition of humanity is base and vile. It is the obligation of people of standing ... to elevate the common human rabble through the sacred transaction of matrimony."
It's upper class, all-white, and religiously sanctioned. "Vile natural conditions" include queerness, sexual freedom, and family structures outside the cisheteropatriarchal capitalist unit. "The obligation of people of standing" invokes ideas like the white man's burden, innate class hierarchy, religious missions, and conversion therapy. Matrimony is presented as both "sacred" (endorsed by the ruling religious body), and a "transaction" (business performed to transfer property and people-as-property, regardless of their desires), a tool of the oppressive society that pirates escape and destroy. That is where the figurines come from.
When Ed, in a drunk, depressive spiral, paints himself onto the bride, he's not yearning for a pretty dress. He's sort of yearning for a wedding, but that's not framed as positive. What he's doing is projecting himself into an 'ideal' image of marriage because he believes that: a) that's what Stede (and everyone) wants; b) he can never live up to that ideal because he's unlovable and broken (brown, queer, lower-class, violent, abused, etc); c) that's why Stede left. He tries to make himself fit into the social ideal by painting himself onto the closest match - long-haired, partner to Stede/groom, but a demure, white woman, a frozen, porcelain miniature - because, if he could just shrink himself down and squeeze into that box, maybe Stede would love him and he'd live happily ever after. But he can't. So he won't.
The fantasy fails: Ed is morose, turns away from the figurines, then tips them into the sea, a lost cause. He knows he won't ever fulfil that bride's role, but he sees that as a failure in himself, not the role. It's not just that "Stede left, so Ed will never have a dream wedding and might as well die." Stede left when Ed was honest and vulnerable, "proving" what his trauma and depression tell him: there's one image of love (of personhood), and he'll never live up to it because he's fundamentally deficient. So he might as well die.
This hit me from my very first viewing. The scene is devastating, because Ed is wrong, and we know it! He doesn't need to change or reduce himself to fit an image and be accepted (as, eg, Izzy demanded). Stede knows and loves him exactly as he is; it's the main thread and theme of season two!
(@/everyonegetcake suggested that Ed's yearning in these scenes includes his broader desire for the vulnerability and safety Stede offered, literalised through unattainable "fine" things like the status of gentleman in s1, or the figurine's blue dress. I'd argue, though, that these scenes don't incorporate this beyond a general knowledge of Ed's character. Ed is always pining for both literal and emotional softness, but the significance of the figurines specifically, to both Ed and the audience, is poisoned by their origin and context: there is no positive fantasy in the bride figure, only Ed's perceived deficiency.
Further, assuming that a desire for vulnerability necessarily corresponds with an explicit desire for femininity, dresses, etc, kind of contradicts the major themes of the show. OFMD asserts that there is nothing wrong with men assuming femininity (through drag, self-care, nurturing, emotional vulnerability, etc), but also that many of these traits are, in fact, genderless, and should be available to men without affecting their perceived or actual masculinity. It thematically invokes the potential for cross-gender expression in Ed's desires, especially through the transgender echoes in his relieved disposal, then comfortable reincorporation, of the Blackbeard leathers/identity. It's a rich, valuable area of analysis and exploration. But it remains a suggestion, not a canon or on-screen trait.)
Importantly, the groom figure doesn't fit Stede, either. Not just in dress: it's stiff and formal, and marriage nearly killed him. He's shabbier now, yes, but also shedding his privilege and property, embracing his queerness, and trying to take responsibility for his community. In a s1 flashback, Stede hesitantly says, "I thought that, when I did marry, it could be for love," but he would never find love in marriage. Not just because he's gay, but because marriage in OFMD is an oppressive, transactional institution that precludes love altogether. All formal marriages in OFMD are loveless.
So, he becomes a pirate, where they reject society altogether and have matelotages instead. Lucius and Pete's "mateys" ceremony is shot and framed not like a wedding, but as an honest, personal bond, willingly conducted in community (in a circle; no presiding authority, procession, or transaction).
That is how Stede and Ed can find love, companionship, and happiness: by rejecting those figurines and their oppressive exchange of property, overseen by a church that enables colonialism and abuse. Ed is loved, and deserves happiness, as he is, no paint or projection required.
ALL OF THIS IS TO SAY: draw Ed in dresses! Write him getting gender euphoria in skirts! Write trans/nb Ed, draw men being feminine! Gender is fake, the show invites exploration, that's what 'transformative works' means! But please, stop citing the cake toppers as evidence it's canon. Stop citing a scene where a depressed Māori man gets drunk and projects himself onto a rich, white, silent bride because he thinks he's innately unlovable and only people like her can find happiness, shortly before deciding to kill himself, as canon evidence it's what he wants.
(Also, please don't come in here with "lmao we're just having fun," I know, I get it. Unfortunately, I'm an academiapilled researchmaxxer, and some of youse need to remember that the word "canon" has meaning. NOW GO HAVE FUN PUTTING THAT MAN IN A PRETTY DRESS!! 💖💖)

Know what? My topic of choice is Team Plasma.
Because I am going to blow a gasket already. For this rant, please keep in mind that these are all things Team Plasma is suspected of doing or confirmed to have done in my world.
The other day, I asked Champion Pine’s brother, Porcelain, about Team Plasma. So far my experience with them has been one grunt beating a herdier, and a trio of grunts attempting to rob Roxie, my ward, and I before we left Virbank.
What he told me was far more harrowing.
I won’t be touching the Hero of Truth’s situation here, because it isn’t my business, but I have permission to talk about the Hero of Ideals, Champion Pine, and their general actions.
For context, here in my world, many species of pokémon are sapient, and considered citizens of the regions they reside in. Unova, however, has the lowest population of native sapient pokémon, to the point there’s barely any census data. Most Unovans have never even met a sapient pokémon.
The rest of this rant below the cut.
Zoroark packs and Gothitelle clades are largely reclusive, and, since the formation of Team Plasma, have become even more so. There are currently theories that they were purposefully attacking the packs and clades in order to squash any resistance from them at the source.
As for the champion and her brother, as far as Porcelain could tell, Ghetsis considered him and his sister a major threat. As Porcelain is a Gothitelle himself, at the time a gothorita, he and his sister, a human, were a walking antithesis to Ghetsis’ agenda.
So, just outside of Dragonspiral Tower in Icirrus City, two Team Plasma grunts attacked Alcina and Porcelain. From what Porcelain remembers, one grunt had Alcina pinned to the ground and was choking her, while the other easily picked him up and attempted to carry him off. This caused him to stress evolve, which is apparently incredibly painful and unpleasant.
Beyond this, during the assault on the League, Ghetsis attacked Alcina and the other hero while they were weakened after their battle. Porcelain, as a member of Alcina’s team, remembers this vividly. It was not a friendly battle. It was a fight for his life. Porcelain was 16 at the time, and Alcina was 18.
Previously, Ghetsis had Alcina stalked, and she’s certain that she still is being stalked.
And this is only the surface of the rap sheet. And he’s still out there.
It makes me wonder if I should have waited longer to go on my journey.

Play-By-Blog #21: The Isle by Luke Gearing
Welcome to my ongoing play-by-blog of The Isle by Luke Gearing! We are playing this adventure with its original system, The Vanilla Game (adjusted somewhat to fit the format). You can check out the Play-By-Blog Repository to get all caught up if you wish.
How Play-By-Blog works:
I write up the situation, NPCs, and more, just like a DM.
You vote in the poll to help decide the character's course of action.
I roll the dice, resolve actions, and write them up next week.
So on and so forth for the rest of the adventure!
Notation:
[Text in brackets is out-of-character/GM text!] "Non-italicized quotes denote text from the original adventure!" "Italicized quotations denotes NPC dialogue."
Our character: Medon Girou - Magic Cutpurse
Our maps: The Isle, Floor 2, Floor 3
[You can use the links above to find Medon's Character Sheet and map of the Isle and the so far uncovered portions below the surface. On the Dungeon map, you are currently in Floor 3, Room 2.]
Now, back to the adventure!
Tumblr media
You look to the strange door and the wheeled mechanism before it. You've seen enough dangers in this place to no longer fear a door alone. You grab the wheel and twist with all your might. [Strength Check (1d20): 11 - Success!]
The mechanism twists silently as the door slides open. In the low glow of your amulet, you can see the opening beyond the door stretch off into a sizeable chamber, some of which falls beyond the reach of your light.
Before you [in Floor 3, Room 3] stand sixteen Legionaries, strange undead in banded armour, bull-horned helms, porcelain wolf masks and a heavy gold medallion imprinted with a man's face in profile. At their sides, they hold short swords and large, rectangular shields. They are immobile, statuesque in their too still stance.
Among the Legionaries are six sea-things, mutilated corpses of once cadaverous, spiny creatures filled with bioluminescent blood now scattered atop the resting water surrounding the feet of the Legionaries. A shiver runs down your spine.
To the north, a stone passage leads off into the dark. To the south, a hall leads into a partially flooded room. Before you though, stand the Legionaries.
[Sorry for the lengthy delay! I started a new full time gig here locally after our move, then I got COVID, then my wife got COVID, then I worked like 6 days in a row, and here we are now. I'm (mostly) healthy and back at it. Apologies for the delay! - Christian]

Now for something completely different. Below the cut is a bit of ADHD poetry I mostly wrote a few years ago, found in my documents folder recently, still liked it, and gave an editing pass. There's a cut because of the format: it's a single sentence composed of more than two thousand (>2000) (2K+) words. Tumblr has compelled me to break it into several text blocks due to some character limit, but it's meant to be continuous.
If you like this sort of nonsense and want to see more, let me know!
Blueberry Muffins
Neither do I recall what compelled me to purchase an extra large blueberry bran muffin (now deceased) from that one little store on the southwest corner of the Center Square where, sitting in the slightly grimy window I would sometimes see a tiny and exceedingly creepy porcelain doll with bright, too-real eyes that seemed to follow you down the road long after you passed the place itself and that had you looking over your shoulder to see if the doll might somehow be back there with some sharp object stolen from the bakery in a fit of kleptomaniacal murderous intent, that object chosen for the particular way the light dripped in silvery darts from the steel blade and trickle glittering down the streets like liquid violence made solid and dangerous by the hellish forges beneath the land of Quilt where the flaming flamingo people carry strange luminous orbs that some rumors say hold their most precious memories but others claim are just another kind of weird folksy decoration with no real purpose except to establish the sort of communal identity that the Quiltish people so desperately needed after the last Textile War almost destroyed the entire country with those new Bass Drop weapons that came tumbling out of the bellies of the dreaded Duvetian planes,
plummeting thousands of feet through the smog-choked air before landing with a certain kind of thud that could vaporize any liquid water that happened to be close enough to get caught in the destructive radius determined by the size and volume of the device's "Drop Drivers", so called by the scientists who had the dubious privilege of naming the work that they never intended to be weaponized, of course, because no scientist ever wants to be responsible for a government gaining new destructive capabilities that they will invariably abuse by turning their shiny new weapons against some poor hapless group of people just because they have some philosophical disagreement or a piece of land they want or don't want or whatever motivates the enormous barely-conscious entities we carefully build out of the bones of ones that came before them and the ideals of the people whose descendants will eventually discover that the great machine created by their hallowed ancestors is now chewing them up wholesale and spitting out mindless corporate zombies with no creativity that operate not on rational thought or ingenuity or even instinct but only by playing back the pre-recorded programs that they have been carefully steeped in their entire lives like some perfect cup of tea (but horrible) but who will nevertheless eventually rise up to destroy that great machine, tearing its pieces cog from axle, mechanism from housing, and spring from escapement only to pack all those pieces up in neatly labeled little boxes and hide the boxes away in a cave somewhere on the west coast near the cliffs that catch the waves thrown by the uncaring ocean in the kind of weather where being out on the water is likely to result in the deaths of anybody unfortunate enough to have that sort of thing for a job since they couldn't get a safer job further inland like programming or data entry because all of those jobs were taken by the factory workers after the factories shut down when, after far too many generations had been exploited to exploit them, the mines finally dried up leaving only dust and cracked lives blowing in the wind like the leaves of the trees in the northern forest late in the fall after the colors have faded and the air has gone from pleasantly crisp to almost-painfully chill and dry enough that the moon and stars begin to stand out stark against the black sky like the bones left lying in the sun by the sanguine vultures that fly lazily though the sky day by day waiting for the sign of the flamboyant turquoise snail frog to appear writ in the sands of the place where the ruddy desert meets the golden beach to create an orange gradient like the one on the underside of the peach sitting in your grandmother's window because it wasn't ripe when she bought it and she thinks that putting it in the window well help even though so far it only seems to have attracted the fruit flies that plague every house from time to time regardless of whether or not there were any actually in the house before the fruit (that wasn't quite ripe anyway) came in on the backs of their riding sausages to conquer the sunbeams just so the cat is slightly less comfortable in the living room that is always just slightly cooler than she likes (owing to her tropical ancestry) so that she can never quite feel contented except when the sun spills onto the floor in splotches and shards stained to Technicolor brilliance by the glass of the window that was made to commemorate some long-forgotten event in the history of the old town where you grew up but can never go back to because of the entirely too personal way the people there treat you even though (and perhaps because) most of them haven't seen you since the day you graduated high school and left that place behind you - maybe forever - in the hopes of finding out who you are deep down inside where the squishy bits of your feelings (your hopes,
dreams, and fears) are keeping a constant vigil near that one closed door in the corner where the light has been burnt out for such a very long time and that now even the spiders have given up living in the borders between the light and the shadows, on those invisible lines where the dust motes wink in and out of visibility making you wonder briefly if it's really safe to breathe this obviously-polluted air if there's that much dust in it before you realize that you've been breathing it the whole time so it must be at least safe enough that you can live on it, unlike the sweet phosphorescent breezes that flow through the land of dreams whose effervescent vapors might draw you in with their spicy fragrances like fresh baked pineapple and piperine orange juice and trap you forever, not quite drowning you beneath the flowing waves of blue and yellow grasses on the hills behind the castle with those glistening banners whose threads come from the mysterious threadworm caverns beneath the lake on top of the mountain on the horizon to the west beyond the city of Baa'urg with the buildings whose roofs are tiled with a strange glittering stone that reflects the sun in three different colors depending on the angle of the light, and with the roads paved with a stone so black that light falls endlessly into it, warming it up so that even in the deepest part of the coldest winters the people never have to shovel the snow that instead simply melts away starting at any tiny bare spot of that wondrous road (which the people complain about so much in the summer) that happens to catch the light of the sun as it rises above the mountainous horizon bringing with it the strange music of the bird people whose fluting and trilling songs send cinnamon scented sounds along ancient and ancestral aerial avenues swirling and twisting the minds of some who hear them (or taste them with their ears, as it were) away from the subtle and carefully crafted dangers of their workaday working days and toward thoughts from wherein the mind swims swiftly among the stars and between the protons and becomes more vulnerable to other, even more insidious attacks from the many sources of psychic trauma that inhabit those worlds where such things prey on the innocent and unwary denizens who dare to wander out of their iridescent glass-domed cities and between the crystal spikes that in those places stand instead of the trees on other,
more verdant worlds, and that shine with their strange internal glows that seem so bright to look at but still somehow fail to illuminate even the nearest of the shadowed divots wherein dwell the mind eaters who lay in wait with their slime-covered tentacles so like those of the intelligent squishbeasts that inhabit the deeps of so many oceans on worlds lucky enough to have such life-giving expanses of water glistening on their surfaces instead of just barren rock or deep gas wells bubbling their own sort of life-giving poisons into the thick noxious atmospheres of those places, reminding many who see them of certain industrial processes that used to exist on their own worlds before their ancestors, recently or long ago, began to understand the interconnected nature of their environments and, often after much denial followed by eco-wars waged by the last of the great corporate governments those cultures would produce, finally took steps to correct only to find that much of the damage that had been done was irreversible (or would take many generations to repair) and that the only viable solution left was to scatter themselves to the stars (worlds like theirs being scarce enough that there were none close by) and take their chances in their smallish black-tipped ships where they would spend dozens of generations without contact from any other sentient lifeforms until they no longer resembled or even remembered their planet-bound progenitors or even those who had left on other ships, some of which had been destroyed and others captured when their particular shard of the unfortunate species-fracture encountered by chance a more hostile species among the endless voids of the universe, while a very lucky few found new worlds that would service their organic needs well enough to make a home with its own set of wonders and dangers, and yet others abandoned their organic bodies entirely choosing to become fully artificial so that over the years they could not only preserve and repair themselves better but improve on the technologies that now sustained and produced their minds in new and terrifying and amazing ways that eventually led to lifeforms entirely unlike any others the universe had ever produced before or ever would again despite its vast and undeterminable span, nor did the flowers in the grasses of that place produce any scent but instead bloomed in a most amazing array of colors and took advantage of the wind by changing their stems to vibrate with each passing breeze, producing sounds all up and down the frequency spectrum that sounded like a pleasant humming in a zephyr, but during a storm could sometimes take on a more banshee-like quality that the people told cautionary stories about to their children who, after many generations, learned to selectively breed new flowers that made specific notes that were more pleasing to listen to which gave rise to several new forms of music but caused the flies that the flowers had been depending on to pollinate to be much less effective leading to population crashes throughout that particular part of the food web until the flies (and two species of finch) were extinct and the flower came to rely exclusively on artificial pollination provided by the people who had changed the flowers in the first place because they could not bear to lose the "Music of the Buds" that had caused their culture to cohere into a post-technological utopia before ultimately dying out from uncorrectable genetic defects originally promoted by exposure to the pollen of those very same flowers and a dose of irony that could kill off an entire colony of elephants in just a bit more time than it takes for a leaf to fall to the ground from the lowest branch of the big tree on top of the hill next to the pond where those ducks played as the sun glinted off the water in diamond lancets toward the back wall of the shop next to the one that had that tiny doll that actually just wanted to be friends but was driven mad by being surrounded all day by those terrible blueberry muffins.

Bathroom Tiles: A Complete Guide to Styles, Finishes, and Best Uses – Brought to You by Aurees Tiles
Whether you're planning a full renovation or just updating your space, bathroom tiles are one of the most transformative elements you can choose. From material and texture to color and layout, every detail matters—and the right tiles can turn a basic bathroom into a design statement.
At Aurees Tiles, we help customers navigate tile selection with expert advice and a wide range of high-quality options suited for both modern and traditional bathrooms. In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about choosing the perfect bathroom floor tiles and bathroom wall tiles.
Tumblr media
🧱 Understanding the Types of Bathroom Tiles
There are several tile types commonly used in bathroom spaces, each with unique benefits:
Porcelain Tiles: Extremely durable, moisture-resistant, and ideal for both walls and floors.
Ceramic Tiles: Lightweight and cost-effective, especially popular for bathroom walls.
Natural Stone Tiles: Offer a luxurious look with unique variations in tone and pattern.
Glass Tiles: Often used for decorative accents or feature walls due to their reflective surface.
Choosing the right material for bathroom floor tiles versus bathroom wall tiles is crucial—floor tiles need to meet higher durability and slip resistance standards.
🎨 Tile Finishes and What They Mean
The finish you choose affects not only the look but also the functionality of your bathroom tiles:
Matte Finish: Offers better grip—ideal for flooring in wet areas.
Glossy Finish: Highly reflective, often used on walls to make small spaces feel larger.
Textured Finish: Adds a tactile element and is often used in feature walls or shower areas.
Aurees Tiles offers samples and in-store displays so customers can compare these finishes in real light before making a decision.
🛁 Layout and Design Trends
Popular layout styles in 2025 include:
Vertical subway tiles to add height
Geometric patterns for a modern, designer look
Large-format tiles for a seamless, minimalistic feel
Matching or mixing bathroom floor tiles and bathroom wall tiles can help define zones within the bathroom, such as showers, vanities, or feature walls.
🛠️ Planning for Installation
Proper tile installation ensures a long-lasting result:
Always waterproof the substrate before installing wall or floor tiles.
Use high-quality grout and adhesives to prevent cracking and mold.
Consult a professional installer, especially for patterned layouts or natural stone.
At Aurees Tiles, we provide installation tips and can connect you with experienced local tradespeople.

Tyrant's Favorite | Sukuna Ryomen
Second Chapter “Ribs” is available now!
Tumblr media
King!Sukuna Ryomen x Servant!Reader
Summary: You used to be just another servant among the army of humans operating under the command of the terrible king, Sukuna Ryomen. You are an ordinary human who only knows how to wash, clean and cook. Until one day, he notices something in you that you hadn't seen before.
PICK YOUR FAVORITE!
AO3 or Wattpad?
Preview ↆ
Sukuna doesn’t understand how humans work. He just knows that they are disgusting animals that should be killed to be eaten once they become useless. Humans have emotions and problems that he doesn’t understand, like why feel alone when you can just kidnap a woman? Or, why starve if you can kill another man to steal their food? Such simple solutions to first world problems. Humans were a weird specimen in Sukuna’s eyes.
Sukuna had a lot of servants that served him day and night. He handles them as toys that he can replace if they break. He humiliates, assaults and kills them for sport. The servants, unable to defend themselves against the giant threat they serve, can only keep quiet and obey him to survive in the horrible conditions they work in. The weak humans hate him and wish for death to come soon for him. His dreams and hopes for life have been replaced.
Everyone knew you were Sukuna’s favorite, but he didn’t know yet. He really believes that you are the only servant who can do things right without complaining. He could do whatever he wanted with you, knowing full well that you would do nothing to stop him. You're just a loyal servant, nothing more. He could ask you to sweep the shade of the sun, clean the castle roof or kiss his feet, and you would do it without complaint. You were a good servant, and he knew it perfectly.
It was another cold night at the dark temple. Like every night, the dining room and kitchen were in chaos. Dinner was being prepared by the various cooks operating the large kitchen. Hot pans, grills on high heat and various smells permeated the tense atmosphere. Uraume paraded between the aisles, making sure everyone was doing their job properly. As head chef, he could allow no margin for error. Especially knowing his majesty's picky palate. They would taste the sweet and sour sauces, the fine cuts of meat and the drinks to make sure no cook wanted to poison his master.
Servants ran around the dining room to get everything ready before the king came down to eat. The long table decorated with a large black tablecloth with elegant embroidery was accompanied by the fine porcelain plates with gold rims. You found yourself placing the last of the silverware in the correct order and perfectly symmetrical as the king likes. As the servants began to feel the heavy footsteps under their feet, they hurried to put the finishing touches on the table and ran to the walls to stand in formation. Their backs pressed against the wall, arms at their sides and always facing forward, avoiding eye contact.
Sukuna entered the room and everybody bowed to him. He paraded through the room and stopped in front of you. Everyone panicked with their eyes since this was the first time he did something like that. While he was inspecting you from head to toe, you felt your heart sink. You didn’t know what you had done to deserve his attention. “Did I do something wrong?” you asked yourself while sweating cold. Your legs were trembling, and you were about to pee yourself.
Sukuna looked at you with a mischievous smile. He likes making you nervous and shy. You looked so cute trying so hard not to make eye contact with him. Size wise, you looked petite by his side. He could easily squeeze you to death with one hand, but he rather has you around so you could treat him with nice massages. The reason he stopped with you was because he knew you were a hard worker around his temple, and today, he felt generous enough to reward you.

Porcelain Countertops Canada: A Sleek, Strong Surface for Modern Living
In recent years, the demand for porcelain countertops has been steadily rising across Canada. Known for their sleek appearance, superior durability, and versatility, porcelain countertops have made their way from Europe into homes and businesses throughout North America. In cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and beyond, Canadian homeowners are increasingly turning to porcelain as a modern solution for both style and performance.
As more people prioritize low-maintenance materials that don’t sacrifice aesthetics, porcelain countertops in Canada have become an appealing option—especially for those building or renovating kitchens and bathrooms.
What Are Porcelain Countertops?
Porcelain countertops are made from a type of ceramic material that's fired at extremely high temperatures. The result is a dense, non-porous surface that’s incredibly resistant to heat, stains, and scratches. Because of these properties, porcelain has long been used for tiles, but it’s now gaining popularity as a surface material for countertops as well.
Unlike natural stone, porcelain slabs can be produced in very thin formats—without compromising on strength. This allows for more modern, seamless installations and the ability to mimic other high-end materials like marble or concrete without the added maintenance.
Why Canadian Homeowners Are Choosing Porcelain
Across Canada, porcelain countertops are becoming a go-to choice for several key reasons:
Heat Resistance: Porcelain can withstand high temperatures, making it ideal for cooking areas where hot pans are used directly on the surface.
Scratch Resistance: Because of its hardness, porcelain resists scratching from knives, tools, and everyday wear and tear.
UV Stability: Unlike some natural or engineered stones, porcelain won’t fade or discolor when exposed to sunlight—perfect for spaces with large windows or even outdoor kitchens.
Easy Maintenance: Being non-porous, porcelain doesn’t absorb spills or harbor bacteria, making it one of the most hygienic surfaces available.
Eco-Friendly: Porcelain is often made from natural raw materials and can be recycled, making it an environmentally conscious choice.
In Canadian climates, where homes experience a range of temperature and humidity conditions, porcelain proves to be a reliable, long-lasting option.
Where Porcelain Works Best
While kitchens are a natural fit for porcelain countertops, Canadian homeowners are finding other creative uses for the material. Porcelain is excellent for bathroom vanities, laundry rooms, fireplace surrounds, and outdoor barbecue areas. Its resistance to moisture and mold also makes it ideal for humid areas.
Additionally, porcelain can be used for wall cladding and flooring, allowing for a cohesive design throughout the home. Designers in Canada are embracing this flexibility, often extending porcelain from countertop surfaces onto backsplashes or feature walls for a bold, minimalist effect.
Working With Professionals
Selecting and installing porcelain countertops requires expert handling, due to the precision needed when working with large-format slabs. In Canada, companies that specialize in stone and surface fabrication are key to getting the best results.
Elite Stone, a respected name in Ontario’s stone fabrication industry, offers services that include design consultation, slab selection, and professional installation. With experience in a variety of materials—from granite to quartz to porcelain—they assist homeowners in making informed decisions based on lifestyle, budget, and design goals.
While Elite Stone is based in Ontario, they serve clients across many parts of Canada and are known for their quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. For anyone considering porcelain countertops, working with a knowledgeable team can make all the difference in the final outcome.
Final Thoughts
Porcelain countertops in Canada are more than just a trend—they represent a shift toward surfaces that combine elegance, function, and sustainability. Whether you're planning a full kitchen remodel or a simple upgrade, porcelain is worth considering for its long list of benefits.
From its aesthetic versatility to its durability in diverse Canadian climates, porcelain offers a practical and beautiful solution for modern living. And with skilled providers like Elite Stone offering guidance, Canadians can confidently choose porcelain countertops that elevate both the form and function of their homes.

From Classic to Contemporary: Tile Flooring Styles That Never Go Out of Fashion
Tumblr media
Tile flooring has always been one of the most popular and enduring choices for homeowners, designers, and builders alike. Whether you're remodeling a vintage kitchen, designing a sleek modern bathroom, or planning the perfect outdoor space, tile flooring offers versatility, durability, and timeless appeal.
In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explore the evolution of tile flooring styles—from classic patterns to the latest contemporary trends—while also uncovering why some looks never go out of fashion. So, whether you're a design enthusiast, a homeowner planning a renovation, or simply looking for inspiration, you’re in the right place.
1. Why Tile Flooring Remains a Favorite Across the Ages
Tile flooring has stood the test of time, not just for its looks but also for its functionality. It’s water-resistant, easy to clean, durable, and available in an endless array of styles, colors, and finishes. Tiles can suit any décor style—from rustic farmhouse to urban chic.
Plus, tile is eco-friendly, hypoallergenic, and a great conductor for radiant floor heating systems, making it a smart investment.
2. The Charm of Classic Tile Flooring
Some tile styles are just eternally stylish, thanks to their simplicity and elegance. Classic tile flooring options are often inspired by historic architecture and centuries-old design techniques. These designs are easily recognized and instantly elevate any space.
Let’s take a look at a few timeless classics:
a. Subway Tiles
Originating in early 1900s New York subway stations, subway tiles have been used for over a century and are still beloved today. These rectangular, white ceramic tiles bring a clean, minimalist look and are often used in kitchens and bathrooms.
b. Checkerboard Patterns
The black-and-white checkerboard tile floor has a distinct retro charm that dates back to the 1920s and '30s. It's both bold and nostalgic—perfect for those who love vintage glamour.
c. Mosaic Tiles
From ancient Roman villas to Mediterranean resorts, mosaic tile flooring has been a staple of luxury design. Whether glass, stone, or ceramic, mosaics add artistic flair and texture.
3. Timeless Tile Materials That Never Lose Their Appeal
Beyond pattern and color, material choice plays a big role in longevity. Some materials remain consistently popular due to their quality, feel, and appearance.
a. Ceramic and Porcelain
These are the most commonly used materials due to their affordability, durability, and design variety. Porcelain is denser and more water-resistant, making it ideal for bathrooms and high-traffic areas.
b. Natural Stone (Marble, Slate, Travertine)
Natural stone adds depth and richness that manufactured tiles often can't match. Each stone tile is unique in color and veining, making it a great choice for high-end spaces.
c. Terracotta
With its warm, earthy tones, terracotta tile brings rustic charm to kitchens and patios. It’s been used for centuries and continues to be a favorite in Mediterranean and Southwestern-style homes.
4. Contemporary Tile Styles on the Rise
As modern design evolves, so do tile trends. But what’s exciting about contemporary styles is how they merge innovation with nods to the past.
a. Large Format Tiles
Today’s homeowners are leaning toward large tiles (24”x24” and up) to create a seamless, open look. These tiles minimize grout lines, making small spaces feel bigger.
b. Wood-Look Tiles
Love the warmth of wood but need the durability of tile? Wood-look porcelain tiles mimic hardwood planks so closely that it’s often hard to tell the difference. These tiles are especially popular in bathrooms and basements where real wood might not hold up.
c. Concrete-Look Tiles
For industrial and minimalist interiors, concrete-look tiles are a go-to. They bring a raw, urban edge while still offering the convenience of tile.
5. The Role of Color in Tile Flooring Trends
Color choice can dramatically influence the overall look and feel of your flooring. While some hues are fleeting, others are timeless and versatile.
Neutrals (White, Beige, Gray): These never go out of style. They provide a calming backdrop and allow other design elements to shine.
Bold Colors (Blues, Greens, Terracotta Reds): When used in the right space, bold tiles make a big impact without overwhelming the design.
Matte vs. Glossy: Matte finishes are now favored for their modern aesthetic and slip resistance, while glossy tiles still reign in certain classic designs.
6. Patterned and Textured Tiles: A Return to Artistry
While plain tiles will always be a safe bet, patterned and textured tiles are making a major comeback. They’re being used in creative ways to add depth, character, and visual interest to spaces.
Encaustic Cement Tiles: Known for their vibrant patterns and handcrafted look, encaustic tiles are a top pick for feature floors and backsplashes.
3D Textured Tiles: These add a tactile element that can completely transform the perception of a room, especially when lighting is used creatively.
7. Eco-Friendly and Sustainable Tile Options
Sustainability is more important than ever in design. Fortunately, many tile manufacturers now offer eco-conscious options.
Recycled Tile: Tiles made from recycled glass, ceramic, or porcelain reduce landfill waste.
Low-VOC and Natural Sealants: Health-conscious homeowners are seeking tiles with low emissions and non-toxic finishes.
Locally Sourced Materials: Choosing tiles made from locally quarried or produced materials reduces carbon footprint and supports the local economy.
8. Outdoor Tile Flooring Trends
Tile isn’t just for indoor use—outdoor tile is more popular than ever for patios, walkways, and pool decks.
Slip-Resistant Porcelain: Offers the best mix of durability and safety.
Natural Stone Pavers: Timeless and elegant, ideal for upscale landscaping.
Patterned Outdoor Tiles: Add personality and charm to garden spaces or balconies.
9. How to Choose the Right Tile Style for Your Space
With so many options, picking the right tile can feel overwhelming. Here are some quick tips to guide your decision:
Consider Function First: High-traffic areas need durable, easy-to-clean tiles.
Think About Room Size: Large format tiles can make small rooms feel more spacious.
Match Style to Personality: Love modern minimalism? Go for concrete or wood-look. Prefer timeless elegance? Marble or encaustic could be your thing.
10. Mixing Old and New for a Unique Look
One of the biggest trends in 2025 is blending classic and contemporary tile styles. Think subway tiles with modern matte black grout, or pairing vintage mosaic patterns with sleek, minimalist furniture.
This fusion style allows homeowners to create spaces that feel both familiar and fresh—the best of both worlds.
Conclusion: Invest in Timeless Style
Whether you're drawn to the refined beauty of marble, the clean simplicity of subway tiles, or the bold statement of encaustic patterns, tile flooring offers something for everyone. The key to a timeless floor lies in balancing form, function, and personal taste.
By understanding the rich history of tile and embracing modern innovations, you can design a space that’s not only stylish but also built to last. So, if you're planning a flooring upgrade, don’t be afraid to mix, match, and most importantly—make it your own.

Porcelain Slabs: A Modern Solution for Your Home and Business
Porcelain slabs are rapidly gaining popularity in the world of interior design, offering a stunning combination of beauty, durability, and versatility. These large-format tiles have transformed the way we think about countertops, walls, and floors, making them a top choice for homeowners, architects, and designers alike. Here’s everything you need to know about porcelain slabs and why they might be the perfect solution for your next project.
What Are Porcelain Slabs?
Porcelain slabs are large, thin sheets made from high-quality porcelain clay that is fired at extremely high temperatures. The result is a dense, non-porous surface that can be used for a variety of applications, including countertops, kitchen islands, backsplashes, bathroom vanities, flooring, and even outdoor areas. Porcelain slabs come in a wide range of colors, patterns, and textures, making them an ideal choice for those seeking a modern, sleek look.
Benefits of Porcelain Slabs
Durability and Strength One of the primary advantages of porcelain slabs is their exceptional durability. They are highly resistant to scratches, chips, and cracks, making them ideal for high-traffic areas. The non-porous nature of porcelain also means that it won’t stain easily, even from common substances like coffee, wine, or oil.
Low Maintenance Porcelain slabs are incredibly easy to maintain. Unlike natural stone materials, they do not need sealing, and a simple wipe with soap and water is usually all that's needed to keep them clean. Their resistance to stains, bacteria, and moisture makes them especially suitable for kitchens and bathrooms, where hygiene is a priority.
Design Versatility Porcelain slabs offer endless design possibilities. They are available in a wide range of colors, patterns, and textures that can mimic the look of natural stone, wood, or even marble. Whether you’re looking for a minimalist, modern aesthetic or a more classic, luxurious feel, porcelain slabs provide the flexibility to meet your design needs. They also come in a variety of finishes, from matte to polished, allowing you to create the perfect ambiance in your space.
Heat and UV Resistance Porcelain is highly heat-resistant, making it an excellent choice for areas exposed to high temperatures, such as kitchen countertops. It’s also UV-resistant, meaning that it won’t fade or discolor over time, even when exposed to direct sunlight. This makes porcelain slabs an ideal option for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Eco-Friendly Many porcelain slabs are made from natural, sustainable materials and are manufactured using environmentally friendly processes. Additionally, since porcelain is highly durable, it reduces the need for frequent replacements, contributing to less waste over time.
Large Format for Seamless Design Porcelain slabs come in large formats, reducing the number of seams in your design. Fewer seams mean a cleaner, more streamlined appearance. This is especially beneficial for countertops, walls, and floors, where large, continuous surfaces can create a more sophisticated and cohesive look.
Drawbacks of Porcelain Slabs
Cost While porcelain slabs offer many benefits, they can be more expensive than other materials, particularly when it comes to high-end designs. The cost can vary depending on the quality of the porcelain and the complexity of the installation.
Installation Complexity Porcelain slabs are heavy and can be challenging to install, especially when dealing with large, thin sheets. It’s essential to hire experienced professionals for installation to avoid cracks or damage during the process. Some porcelain slabs require special handling and support during installation due to their size and weight.
Edge Protection Though porcelain is highly durable, its edges can be more vulnerable to chipping compared to the rest of the surface, especially if mishandled or if heavy items are dropped on them. Proper edge finishing and care should be taken to avoid any damage.
Applications of Porcelain Slabs
Countertops Porcelain slabs are an excellent choice for kitchen and bathroom countertops. Their resistance to heat, moisture, and stains makes them a highly functional option. With a variety of finishes and colors, you can create a countertop that suits your style perfectly.
Backsplashes Porcelain is ideal for backsplashes, as it is easy to clean and maintain. You can create a stunning, cohesive look by choosing a porcelain slab that complements your countertops or cabinetry.
Flooring Porcelain slabs are a durable, low-maintenance option for flooring. Whether you’re installing them in a high-traffic area or a luxury bathroom, porcelain slabs offer a sleek and modern look that stands the test of time.
Walls Large-format porcelain slabs are becoming increasingly popular for wall applications, including feature walls, shower walls, and fireplace surrounds. The large, seamless design allows for a more contemporary aesthetic while minimizing grout lines.
Outdoor Use Due to their resistance to UV rays and moisture, porcelain slabs are also an excellent choice for outdoor applications like patios, outdoor kitchens, and pool areas. Their durability in varying weather conditions ensures they can withstand the elements while maintaining their beauty.
Conclusion
Porcelain slabs are a versatile, durable, and stylish choice for homeowners and designers looking to create modern, elegant spaces. From countertops to flooring and walls, porcelain offers endless design possibilities while providing exceptional strength and low-maintenance care. While the initial cost may be higher than some alternatives, the long-term benefits of porcelain—especially its durability, heat resistance, and low upkeep—make it a valuable investment for any home or business. If you’re looking for a sleek, sophisticated surface that combines aesthetics with practicality, porcelain slabs are an excellent choice.
