Thinking about how Eddie would let you wear his Hellfire Club t-shirt around his trailer. When you're cuddling, making dinner, watching movies together, even sleeping, he finds it adorable to see you wearing his oversized t-shirt, from his club.
The next day, when he goes to Hellfire Club, he's wearing that very same shirt. And he can smell you on it. For the whole session he is tongue tied and off his game, finding it hard to concentrate, because all he can focus on is your scent on his damn shirt.

A Kiss Kiss
Ship: Eddie x bestfriend!reader
Summary: The Hellfire Club is one member short, but Eddie refuses to let the campaign slow down. That's where you come in, Eddie's "tutor" turned into his muse.
Word Count: 4,728 words
Warnings: mention of sickness, fluffy, pining Eddie, oblivious reader, brief/slightly bad description of a D&D session, sugar as a pet name for reader, excessive mention of how pretty Eddie's eyes are
Note: This fic is set several weeks before the events of season 4. The campaign is leading up to the session we see in the show! Reader has graduated, but stayed in Hawkins to help Eddie graduate.
☟ Continue below the fold ☟
"Lights...perfect. Got everything here... Where are my— There are my character sheets. Do I have...? Yes."
Eddie paced around the room one more time, checking everything for the fifth time. He needed to be certain that everything was ready. The session had to go perfectly. He'd planned for every possible curveball the party could throw at him, every stupid request and every bad roll and every plot twist he could use without straying too far from the course of the game. He'd been building up this campaign for too long to let it go awry just a few sessions away from his grand finale.
He twisted his rings around his fingers, giving the table one last look before sitting on his throne.
"It's gonna be fine," Eddie mumbled to himself, adjusting his stack of character sheets. "Everything's gonna be ooohhh-kaaaay."
The door opened. He looked up, expecting his players, and found you standing in the doorway instead, your eyebrow raised.
"Do I want to know why you're psyching yourself up for this like you do before your exams?"
Eddie groaned. "Let's not talk about my exams."
You made your way over to your own chair, which was sat just a few feet away from Eddie's. (He'd been inching it closer to him every time, but he wasn't going to tell you that, and he didn't think you'd noticed yet.) "You mean the exams you should be studying for?"
"They're weeks away! I have to finish the campaign, too."
Your eyebrows knitted as you leaned forward, trying to catch his eye. "You have to graduate, Eds."
For a moment, his heart dropped into his stomach. He hated that. He hated the way you sounded both hopeful and hopeless. He hated knowing where that sound came from, that you were really hoping the two of you would finally leave Hawkins together, like you'd planned to do two years ago, before he got told he wasn't graduating.
He still remembered the way your face had dropped when he'd told you. That looked crossed your face in his nightmares.
"If I don't—"
"Eddie..."
"If I don't," he repeated, a bit more forceful, "you don't have to stay with me. You should go to college and start your life."
You reached over, putting your hand on top of his. "You're going to graduate this time. You're so close, Eddie. You just need to pass your finals, and then you're out of here."
He looked over at you, expecting anger or annoyance, but he just found kindness. He always found kindness. "You can tutor me later, okay?"
"Good—because I brought all my physics notes, and there's no way in hell I'm lugging those things around for no reason."
Eddie grinned. You returned it, seeming to stare into his soul. Eddie felt a familiar flutter, one that he'd been ignoring for the past four, almost five, years. He buried it quickly, before he could get distracted enough to lose track of his campaign.
Not today, Munson, he told himself, tearing his eyes away. He could see how your gaze lingered on him for a moment, soft enough that he almost wanted to admit he was feeling those flutters—and possibly ruin eight years of friendship in the process.
"Not today," he mumbled to himself.
You raised your eyebrows. "What was that?"
"Nothing important." He glanced over and found your eyes pinned on him, gaze narrowed. "I'll tell you later." You nodded, satisfied, and he neglected to tell you that later meant on my deathbed.
The door opened again, and this time it was Gareth and Jeff. Eddie grinned the instant he realized their excitement matched—maybe even surpassed—his.
He left his throne to clap Gareth on the back. "Ready for this?"
Gareth grinned. "You have no idea. I've planned for everything you could throw at us."
Jeff snorted. "No, you didn't. Look at his notebook—he's got plans within plans over there."
"Ah, ah, ah! No you don't!" Eddie swooped back to his spot, dramatically clutching his notebook to his chest. "Avert your eyes."
You giggled from the corner. Eddie glanced over and the flutters came back; you were doing that beautiful thing you did, where you tried to cover your smile with your hand but it still peeked through. God, Eddie loved that smile—and he knew the rest of Hellfire did, too. He glanced back over and found Gareth practically swooning, very red in the face. He rolled his eyes.
"Where are the little sheep?" he asked, glancing at the empty spots where the three freshman he'd adopted usually sat. "And Grant? Jesus, where is everybody?"
"Grant is on his way, saw him in the hall," Jeff said. "Don't know anything about the freshies."
Eddie's jaw clenched. "If Sinclair's skipping out on us for basketball, I swear to God—"
You put a hand on Eddie's shoulder, stopping him in his tracks. He turned to you immediately, missing the look that passed between Gareth and Jeff. "Easy there, Eds. Maybe they got held for a few minutes after class. You know there are plenty of teachers here that will hold back a class they think has been too rowdy after the bell. Or..." You fixed him with a stern look he would never admit made his stomach swoop. "Certain rowdy students."
He looked away from you, awkwardly rubbing the burning blush climbing his neck. "It was one time!"
"Twice," you insisted. "And that's only that I know of! For all I know, it could have happened on nights we weren't going out, and you just never told me!"
Gareth peered around Eddie to see you. "Going out?"
You nodded. "For milkshakes and things—"
Eddie pushed his finger against your lips. "Shhhh, let's not talk about that, okay?"
You met Eddie's gaze. Mutual understanding passed between you, accompanied by an intense heat and a deep sense that you had misspoke. Eddie felt embarrassment curling in his stomach; it was clear that while you didn't understand you were about to describe the failed attempts at dating you Eddie had made throughout the years, the other two absolutely did. He was never going to hear the end of this.
Once again, the door opened, this time slamming directly into the wall next to it. Eddie's eyes flicked away from you and toward the two freshman in the doorway, Dustin ahead of Lucas, who still had his arm pushing the door open. Both were frozen, eyes wide as if they'd interrupted something they weren't supposed to attend.
But then Eddie realized what the situation looked like to them. He had, unknowingly, wrapped an arm around your waist and tugged you close to him to press his finger against your lips.
And with the way you were looking at him...
Eddie cleared his throat and let go of you, stepping away as if nothing had ever happened. "Where's the third one?" he snapped.
"Um...that's what we came to tell you," Dustin said, glancing at Lucas for support. "He. Um. Mike is..."
"Not feeling well," Lucas put in. "So he won't be here today."
Eddie knew his expression wasn't pleasant. He didn't try to change it. "Not...feeling...well," he repeated, words staccato and mocking.
The two boys nodded.
"Is he alright?" you asked.
"Uh...not really?" Dustin squeaked. "He, um." Lucas kicked him in the shins.
"He what?" Eddie snapped.
You put your hand on Eddie's back, shooting him an admonishing glare. His stomach swooped again, a pleasant mix of fear and arousal. He sat in his throne, placing his elbows on the armrests and leaning forward, hoping it would hide the tent in his pants he was sure would make an appearance if you kept up with those gentle touches.
"What's wrong with little Wheeler?" Eddie sighed, trying to soften his voice. You didn't glare at him again, so he guessed he did a good enough job.
Grant appeared behind the two freshman. "Does anybody know that Mike just threw up in the hallway?"
Lucas groaned as Dustin tried to hide the words with a belated, hissing shush.
"Oh, Jesus," Eddie sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. With his hair creating a curtain to hide his face, he wiped his hand over his face, willing himself to pull it together.
He felt a hand on the back of his chair. When you spoke, he knew it was you. "Does Nancy know?"
Lucas nodded. "We went to tell her. That's why we were late."
"Shut up!" Dustin hissed. "Mike didn't want us to..." He glanced over. "Oh, what the hell? Cat's already out the bag."
"Nancy?" Gareth frowned. "What's she got to with it?"
You fixed him with a dry look that spat his question back in his face. Eddie had seen that look before, hated every time it was directed at him but loved when the other boys pining over you got it. "To take him home, Gareth."
"But what about the campaign?"
"What, you'd rather him throw up on the table? I'm sure Eddie would love that, wouldn't you?"
Eddie folded his hands together. "No, but it does create a problem—we are now one player short."
Silence fell. Eddie felt the question building up, felt everyone come to same realization and "solution" at the same time. He rapped his fingers against the armrest, waiting to see who would be brave enough to suggest it first.
It was Gareth. "Should we...postpone? Wait for him to get better?"
Eddie's attention snapped toward him. "Oh? Wait for him to get better, you say? And how long's that gonna take? A week, two? No—waiting would throw off the entire campaign. We need a sub for him."
"No one would play with such short notice, Eddie," Jeff said, shaking his head. "If this happened yesterday, maybe we could find someone, but everyone's left. Unless you want to go ask the basketball team if they'll spare another player—"
"Don't be stupid," Eddie growled.
"There's no sub, Eddie, you have to be reasonable about this," Gareth began. Eddie bristled.
"I'll sub."
Every head in the room turned toward you. Surprise flooded Eddie's brain. You wanted to play? The last time you'd played, it had been the same situation. You'd stood in for someone else, halfway through a campaign, and had been so confused you'd sworn off D&D for good.
"What?" Dustin said.
"I'll play in Mike's stead," you said. "I've done it before. Long time ago, and it wasn't exactly...great, but I'll do it." You glanced at Eddie. "If you want me to, that is. I know last time was kind of a disaster, but—"
Eddie worldlessly shuffled through his stacks. He sifted through every page and then flipped open a very worn down folder. There, at the back, was the page he was searching for. He handed it to you.
"Is this...?"
"The same character sheet as last time? Yep."
You stared at him. "You kept it?"
He shrugged. "'Course I did. I keep everything."
"No wonder your room is so messy," you teased.
He rolled his eyes. He saw Dustin's eyes go huge and knew the kid had taken it the wrong way. He had no desire to correct him. "Alright, that's enough of that. Everybody sit." He caught your arm before you could move away from him. "You stay close in case you need help. You need a refresher?"
You glanced down at the sheet he'd given you. "Um...maybe a little? Sorry."
"No problem, sugar. C'mere a second."
You did as you were told, the pet name going through you like lightning. Only Gareth seemed to notice, his gaze losing a little bit of light as he did.
~❊~
The ticking of a clock filled the room, coming not from the one on the wall but from Eddie himself, who was surprisingly good at mimicking the sound with his mouth. An eerie, whispering, scraping sound filled the room. If you hadn't been next to Eddie, where you could see his hand scraping the underside of the table, it would have freaked you out. On your other side, Lucas tensed.
"You hear it from a distance at first," Eddie said, his voice low. "But it's getting closer with every second." He mimicked the clock again. "The sound of magic and of chains."
Gareth shuddered.
"There's chanting around you. Too late, you realized you've stepped into a trap."
Half of the table groaned. Eddie's face lit up with a maniacal grin.
"He enters the clearing, cloaked and whistling." Eddie whistled. Unsteady and menacing, he swept his gaze across the table, making brief eye contact with every single player. "Try as you might, you have not the wits to escape me." His voice was deep and gravelly. Goosebumps broke out on your skin. You'd heard Eddie change his voice time and time again, but it never failed to shock you. "There is no stopping power as great as this."
Eddie locked eyes with you. A thrill went down your spine. "Yet there is always room for improvement. Magic is never satisfied."
"Here we go," Dustin whispered, his hands in white-knuckled fists.
Eddie leaned back. "From his cloak, Vecna draws a dagger. He lifts it into the air. Ritual must be satisfied." He turned to you. "What do you do, dear traveller?"
Your heart stopped. This was different from the lighthearted flirting you'd been doing with the other characters Eddie had pit you and the others against. You knew enough from his summary to know Vecna was not one of his regular, smaller villains, and you knew from the fear from the others around the table there was only one way this was going to go.
"I...try to stall Vecna, try to attack to give the others time to get away," you said after a moment. Eddie paused briefly, something flashing in his eyes. Slowly, he grinned.
"Roll," he said, nodding to the dice he'd set in front of you at the beginning of the game.
Heart in your throat for no apparent reason, you did. You didn't have to look at it to know how it went; you heard the groan of the others around you, heard the soft sound Eddie made, and knew your roll had not been high enough.
"You run at Vecna but are easily caught," Eddie said, and you reopened your eyes. "He puts the dagger at your throat. The others are terrified and trying to decide if they should help or run." He looked at the others. "Well? What do you do?"
You heard them each say that they would try to help, voices trembling. But roll after roll was far too low, so, one by one, they fled.
Eddie turned back to you. "So much for your friends, little one. Perhaps you shall meet them again, when I have killed them, too. He shoves the dagger through you and your world goes black, but not before you..." He made eye contact with you. There was a plea in his gaze. You studied him, saw the exhaustion in him. You glanced at the clock on the wall; the session had been going for nearly three hours. You could tell he was hoping it would be done very soon—and that you had a chance to end it now.
But what did you have to do?
Curse Vecna? Spit in his face? Cleverly not die?
Eddie licked his lips, hiding a mouthed word in the action. Summon.
You sucked in a breath. "I cast a summoning spell."
There's triumph in Eddie's face. "For what?"
You let instinct guide you this time. "Anyone who can help. Anyone who can defeat Vecna."
Eddie's grin was nearly villainous. "Roll, sugar."
You closed your eyes again and let the dice fly from your hands. You waited, not breathing, until you heard it stop roll. Eddie gave a shout of victory.
"Your spell is successful! With your last breath, you summon help from all four corners of the world, and lo and behold, a figure appears in the woods before you. As the world goes black, you see a cloaked man step out from the shadows. He throws back his hood and Vecna sneers. You catch a glimpse of his face as your vision fades to black, and standing above you is your savior—Kas the Bloodyhanded."
Eddie snapped his book shut. The reaction was immediate, his party leaping to their feet, yelling and shouting. You flinched against the wall of noise. Eddie grinned at you.
"Not bad for your second go," he said, voice still low and husky underneath the noise.
You smiled at him. "I hope you're aware I'm not letting you get away with not studying tonight."
He rolled his eyes, but his smile remained. "Of course not."
Dustin finally succeeded in trying to get Eddie's attention by leaning over Lucas and peering around your arm. "What?! Kas? That's insane!"
You leaned out of the conversation, leaving your chair and gathering up the notebooks and pencils you'd left on the floor. You might not have understood everything that was going on in the game, but you enjoyed it nonetheless; the party clearly loved what Eddie had put together just as much as he did. You knew that appreciation was not something Eddie saw often, and you were glad he got it here, at least.
The party stayed longer than they normally did after games, until Steve poked his head through the door and scolded Dustin to get a move-on. The others dispersed quickly after that, until it was just you and Eddie left.
He turned to you with a huge grin. "That was amazing, huh?"
You giggled. "I'll admit I was a little confused, but I'll chalk that up to joining in on a session halfway through your campaign and not your DM'ing skills."
Eddie started his cleanup process, reorganizing the table and putting away everything that wouldn't be needed until the next session. He eyed you. "I'm surprised you got my hints—happy, of course, but surprised, too."
You left your stuff on your chair and helped him clean the table. You shrugged. "I knew you were tired. And you'd explained the campaign up to now well enough, I knew what you meant when you said to summon." You shivered. "But I see now why the boys are always so terrified during games. It's so high-stakes!"
Eddie grinned, and it looked slightly malevolent. "Helps that I'm so intimidating."
"You're joking, but you're absolutely intimidating," you said. "I've never seen you so intense before." You gave him a sly, teasing smile. "Maybe if you applied that to your studying, we'd be in a different state by now."
The smile slid off Eddie's face. Guilt clouded his eyes, and you knew immediately you hadn't come off as joking as you'd like to have.
"Oh, Eddie, I didn't mean... That's not what I wanted it to sound like."
He sighed heavily. "No, but you're right. You could be out of here, at least. I mean, like I was saying earlier—"
You dropped the papers you were holding and cut him off by cupping his face in your hands. His breathing stopped along with his words. You were shaking your heard fiercely.
"That's enough of that, Eddie. I told you I was going to help you graduate, and I am. I'm not leaving you here, Eds. I can't imagine life without you. You have been here for me through everything, and I'm going to to the same for you. Alright?" You ran your thumb across his cheekbone. "You mean the world to me."
He curled his arms around you, tugging you flat to his chest and squeezing tight. "Thank you for believing in me," he whispered, just as he had when you'd first told him you were going to help him graduate. You were just glad this time the words came without tears.
"I've always believed in you," you whispered. "Always."
You pulled back away from him, idly playing with one of his curls. For a moment, it was just the two of you staring at each other, Eddie's big eyes more than a little wet. For a moment, the air between you changed.
Eddie's heart began to pound. He watched your gaze drop briefly from his eyes to his mouth and wondered if it was about to happen. If he'd be brave enough to let it happen.
If he did, his deathbed was a lot closer than he'd thought it was, because he knew kissing you was going to prevent him from breathing for a good hour at least.
But you just smiled at him. "Come on—let's finish up here and go through my old physics notes. You're passing that test tomorrow."
He groaned. "I forgot there was a test tomorrow."
You laughed. "What did you think I was here for?"
"Me."
"Aside from you," you said, poking him in the side. He squirmed away from you.
"Finals, I guess. Something a few weeks away—not tomorrow."
You shrugged. "If you pass your test, you can pass the exam. Hurry it up, Munson."
He wrinkled his nose. "You sound like Harrington and Henderson."
"Well, it is almost nine."
Eddie yawned. "No wonder I'm tired. Alright, come on. Let's go home."
~❊~
Stifling your third yawn of the past ten minutes, you cuddled closer into Eddie's side. The night had turned out to be one of the lazier study sessions, which took place in Eddie's bed. Judging by how tired the two of you had become the moment you sat down amongst his blankets, that had been a mistake.
Sitting up had become laying down. Laying down had become cuddling.
This wasn't new to either of you. For as long as you'd known each other, you had been touchy and physical, growing up mostly touch-starved and finding comfort with each other.
But today, it felt different. Eddie couldn't quite put his finger on why today was different from normal, but even just looking at each other when you were checking to see if he was still paying attention resulted in outbursts of giggles.
And for some reason, he was paying even more attention to the smell of your shampoo than normal as he buried his face in your hair. He sighed softly, mumbled your name, and slid his arm over your stomach, his fingers splaying across your side.
You glanced over at him, putting your notebook back down on your lap. "Hey, you okay? We can stop if you're too tired."
"No," Eddie whined into your hair, pressing closer to you. "'m gonna fail if we stop."
You glanced at your notebook. "What's the equation for kinetic energy, Eds?"
He was quiet for a minute, and then he mumbled, "One half of mass times velocity squared."
"What about gravitational potential energy?"
"Mass times gravity times height."
You closed the notebook and threw it off the bed. "I think you're going to do just fine, Eds." You rolled over and wrapped him in a tight hug. "As long as you remember the equations, you can get through the test."
Though it seemed impossible with how at ease he already was, Eddie relaxed in your arms. He hummed softly and threw his leg over yours, clinging to you.
"You can do it, Eds. I believe in you." Without really knowing what you were doing, you leaned back and bent your neck to kiss his forehead. Your voice dropped to a low whisper. "I believe in you, baby."
He hummed. After a moment, he asked, "Did you just kiss me?"
You thought about it. "Not really," you said. "It wasn't a...a kiss kiss."
Eddie looked up at you, his face so buried in your hair and your shirt that you could only see those pretty eyes of his. "Do you wanna kiss kiss?"
You stared at him. You didn't know why you said it, or what courage possessed you to do so, but you smiled, almost bittersweet, as you said, "I've wanted to kiss kiss you for three years at least, baby."
Eddie whimpered in your arms, eyes growing wide. He wriggled in your arms until you were face to face. He stared at you a moment, lifting his hand to cup your cheek.
"Hi," you whispered, feeling slightly embarrassed now that the words were out.
"Hi." His voice was just as quiet. He brushed his fingers across your face, the touch gentle and loving.
"If you don't feel the same—"
"Of course I feel the same," Eddie said. "Of course I do. How couldn't I?"
You smiled. "Well, you did a bang-up job of hiding it."
"So did you," he murmured. "I've always thought I knew everything about you, but I didn't know that."
You laughed. "I don't know how you didn't know that—I wasn't exactly subtle. Why do you think I wanted to run away with you all these years? You thought I just wanted to go start a whole new life with you just because?"
Eddie huffed. "Well, we can chalk up me not noticing to me being a bit oblivious."
You giggled. "Let's face it, we were both a bit oblivious about our feelings to each other."
"Oh, God, yeah, if I had known you liked me, I would've asked you out back in high school." Eddie brushed your hair out of your face. "So, uh... Can we kiss kiss? Please? Please?"
You giggled. "I like the enthusiasm, Eds."
He whined. "Please?"
"Yes, baby," you whispered. "Kiss me. Kiss me."
Your eyes fluttered closed the instant Eddie's lips touched yours. You held each other's faces as you kissed, a clash of lips and teeth and tongues. You enjoyed the feeling—Eddie's lips were supple and soft, only slightly chapped.
When you broke apart, you smiled. "Your lips are soft."
"Yours are like heaven," Eddie said, pecking them again. "My own personal heaven." He wound his arms around you, tucking himself back into your embrace. "I'm never letting you go now, okay?"
"Oh, believe me, I never want you to." You brushed your hand through his hair, earning a soft, content sigh from him. "Let's get some sleep. And tomorrow morning—you're going to pass your physics test."
"You have such faith in me," he whispered, eyes already closing.
"Of course I do, baby," you whispered, watching him lull himself to sleep in your arms. "Of course I do."
You kissed his nose and let him fall asleep in your arms.
~❊~
You were at Eddie's trailer before he was the next day, when he got out of school. He opened the door with a huge grin on his face, that only got bigger when he saw you waiting for him on his couch.
Before you could even greet him, he flung himself down next to you and whipped out a paper. He gave it to you, practically bouncing with excitement.
It was the physics test—with a big A+ circled at the top of it, the comment of, Wonderful job, Mr. Munson! written underneath.
You squealed. You put the paper down and threw your arms around him, kissing his cheek. "Oh, baby! I knew you could do it! I knew it!" You kissed all over his face. "I'm so proud of you, Eds!"
He pulled you closer to him, meeting for a deep kiss. "All because of you, angel. My sweet angel."
You curled up on the couch together, kissing like your lives depended on it, completely unbothered by the rest of the world or the show that you had put on before Eddie came home. You looped one of your arms around Eddie's neck, bringing a smile to his face.
Neither of you heard the door open. Neither of you saw Wayne walk in and stop the moment he saw the two of you, or the grin that appeared on his face at the sight of his nephew finally kissing the girl he'd been telling Wayne about for years, always with a bittersweet, love-stricken sigh.
The smile was a contained shadow of what it was by the time he said, "Took you two long enough."
You sprang apart, grinning sheepishly, but you both could still see the pride and happiness in Wayne's face, however much he tried to hide it.
You looked back at Eddie, kissing his nose and drawing a giggle from him. "Yeah." You kissed his soft lips. "I've been thinking the same thing."

𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒐𝒌 ❤️
Steddie x child reader
Words: 1k
Summary: Steve & Eddie go back to the upside down after they defeated vecna only weeks later. Of course they went reluctantly but anyways do to the gang hearing little child whimpers over a walkie-talkie (that's what I call it) that has been stuck in the upside down ever since
__
It was finally over. Vecna was gone. Upside down was gone. Things started to go back to semi- normal in Hawkins. The cracks from the earthquake the upside down cause still linger but many people volunteer to cover up the cracks. If only that was said to peoples mental states. Everyone tried to move on in which a lot of people did leave Hawkins but a good amount stayed. Especially the Hawkins gang.
" I'm telling you I heard something on there!" Dustin said franticly telling everyone in what it looks like emergency meeting in his basement. Everyone looks at Dustin confused written on their faces as Dustin was explaining to them that he heard something on the walkie-talkie.
" How is that possible?, we left it in the upside down? " Steve said crossing his arms, leaning on the entrance of the basement doorway.
" I'm sure your just hearing things Henderson, Its long gone." Eddie said cutting into the conversation. Eddie wrapped his arm around his boyfriend's waist firmly. If this wasn't serious Steve would have melted in his hold.
" I'm telling you g— ummhu " Everyones eyes darted to the walk-talkie on the coffee table
" Did the walk-talkie just whimper?" Max questioned to make sure she wasn't hearing things. The radio whimpered again not to long after making everyone confirm there something or someone on the other side.
__
That's how Steve & Eddie got in this position to go back into the upside down, of course unintentionally. As they went into the oh so familiar portal, nervousness started to settle in, into the two boys. When coming out of it it, it the same as they left it.
The skies were still red, abandoned homes and land everywhere, the air was still with a heavy atmosphere all around, thunder was as loud as ever, shrieking of demo bats were heard farther away but that still made Eddie hold on to Steve's hand even tighter, Steve grip match with Eddie's.
Steve and Eddie started walking hand in hand carefully and quietly to where they left the walk-talkie. It felt like a century before they finally arrived to the destination.
" let's find this thing and get the hell out of here" Eddie said now speed walking to skull rock with Steve trailing behind him.
" ...ummhu.... " Steve & Eddie eyes narrowed in on a smaller bolder that's a few feet away. There minds now racing with theories about what is behind that rock. What if its a demo dog? a demo bat? Or worse a full adult Demogoron. Steve & Eddie took out there weapons and slowly walked towards it making sure to be as quit as possible.
Eddie's narrowed his eyes clocked on the rock now in front of them prepared, Ready to fight for his life. The boys looked at each other and counted down to 3 together. Once they got to 1 they both made loud battle cry's and weapons swinging high like maniacs.
Before they could do anymore damage a high pitched whimper was let out. Steve opened his eyes even though he swear he didn’t close them. His eyes widened little by little as he focuses in on the thing or should I say child sitting in front of them hands over there head in fear.
“ Stop eddie…STOP “ Steve raised his voice hitting Eddie’s arm demanding his attention. Eddie also had his eyes closed, arms whipping in the air with his nail covered shield in any and every possible direction. Eddie opened his eyes at Steve’s demanding h̶o̶t̶ voice and looked straight at the child.
The child though they left do to no more screaming battle calls and what is consider “ ᴡᴇᴀᴘᴏɴs “ swing around. The child lowered their arms and took a look.
They both were staring back at them
The child try to hide again
“ Hey, HEY it's ok were not monsters.. Were like you.. “ Steve said softly kneeling down on your level, looking you in the eyes. Eddie not long after. The child took another look and slowly put there arms down and stare at them.
" What's your name? " Eddie said softly
The child took a minute to answer
" Y/n.. " The child answers almost in a whisper but Steve and Eddie hear it
“ Y/n.. that’s a nice name “ Eddie complimented with a lip tight smile. Eddie and Steve looked at each other in a sense were not knowing where to go from here. Eddie's eyes pulled away from Steve's onto the child in front of them.
" We're are your parents y/n? "
" Gone."
The boys looked at each other in disbelief, that is just ..wrong. Who would leave their child in a place such as this? What kind of parents dose that. Without wasting a second Eddie picked Y/n up and put them on his hip. Startling her first then became stiff. Eddie started walking.
" Ywu dowing?! "
" Eddie don't tell me what your doing is what I think your doing." Steve said speed walking to catch up
" I'm taking her with us " Eddie stated still walking
" but we- " " No buts Harrington!, this child is here left to die, I will not just leave knowing that we just killed a kid HELL a baby at most?!" Eddie turned to meet Steve's eyes
Y/n finally relaxes in his hold leaning against his shoulder. Eyes dropping shut tiredly do to the warmth and protection you felt.
Both boys were still looking at each other almost telepathically talking to each other. Steve was the first one to look away. He sighed and rubbed his eyes in frustration to try to finger out what to do. Not long after, Steve walk past Eddie to the direction of the portal.
Eddie wiped his head around, hair flowing behind him. Steve stops walking and turns around
" You coming or what smart guy " Steve turned back with a little smile and continued to walk closer to the portal. With big smile on Eddie's face he followed Steve with a kick in his step. Grinning like a fool.
The child in Eddie's arms unconsciously grinned the same way in their sleep. Not knowing that they'll finally have the life they deserve.
Steve and Eddie only had one thing on there minds
Y/n, it's ok now. We are all safe.

Just been rewatching Stranger Things season 4 as one does and I think I found something helpful to all my fellow fic writers!
Episode 5 after Chrissy’s funeral the basketball team write down a list of where Eddie Munson may potentially be, "Everywhere these freaks have been seen" as Jason put it. It was slightly blurry but I'm pretty sure I got all the points down so here you all go!
It took quite some time to figure out the meetings, I had three other people help and were still not sure! It may be true in which case Lucas didn't see Hellfire coming out of the highschool (which is what I though anyway) but the elementary school 🤷♀️

All I Want | Ch8
Steddie | Little_Annie | Ao3
Ch.7 ⤵️
---
Eddie's POV
There's skin on his, soft, warm, a palm on his cheek and heat searing into his flesh.
It feels like sunshine.
-
The sun's bright. Golden. Rays of liquid honey streaming through the dust of the air.
There's weight in his lap. Steady. Rocking. Grinding. His body sings with a warmth of euphoria and need, a flicker of fire in his veins and roll of ecstasy through his bones.
Breath beats like a symphony in his ear, rough, raspy. Beautiful. Akin to an orchestra by the stars. It sings so sweet and settles in his soul.
The air's bright with light when lips meet his own. Gasps falling on his tongue and breath flooding his lungs, he can feel the cling of a hand in his hair and nails on the skin of his back. Scraping, scratching, branding like a scar to his very being.
The moment's passionate, intimate. So much so that his nerves pulse with a flutter and a heat that rolls through his veins, settling like butterflies to the rear of his lungs. A flutter that feels like wings, from the very beings that spread beauty through the world. Bringing life to flowers, bright and beautiful with the help of the sun.
A nose brushing his own when lips part for a breath, there's a palm to his cheek, soft, warm, heat searing into flesh. There's words whispered into the heat of the air between them, "You're my everything, Eds."
It feels like something else, like three words left unspoken but known to be true. Three words left to settle along with that flutter in his chest.
The light's bright, gold and glowing, speckled like the stars in the sky when he pulls back and tries to get a glimpse of the man in front of him.
-
A shiver runs down his spine and there's a flash of white in his eyes before everything fades back to reality.
He's still there. Sat on the hood of Steve Harrington's BMW with the man's hand on his cheek and the sting of a cut on his brow.
The first thing he sees is the honey of Steve's eyes and the golden glow of his speckled skin.
There's an ache in his chest, a pull in his gut and an all encompassing want. It's painful. Dreadful and riddled with a piercing sense of longing. It's unbearable.
Burning like a brand on his cheek remains Steve's hand. Hot and searing. Iron melting flesh. The need that accompanies the action is too much.
Eddie grits his teeth and turns away.
It's too much.
It's too much even as Steve whispers his apologies, takes a step back and leaves Eddie with the urge to follow. To reach his hands out and pull Steve Harrington into his chest with a crash.
A crash that would without a doubt shatter Eddie. Pulling Steve's body into his fragile bones and pushing them to splinter with the force behind it.
It's inevitable that he'd come out of it broken. Shattered to pieces of rubble and debris. Turned to nothing but a pile of wreckage.
But he wants to reach out and risk the devastation. Take the chance, the absurd, miniscule possibility that things wouldn't burst into flames upon impact. That maybe they'd flourish. That maybe they'd burst into love and light and sunshine and give way for a beauty so rare that few find it.
But he can't.
So he doesn't.
Instead he grits his teeth and squeezes his eyes shut until they hurt. Until all he can see are the flashes of stars against a dark shy. The vast blackness behind his eyelids shielding him from the absurdity of finding sunshine in one Steve Harrington.
Because that's all it is.
Absurd.
It's a thought that should have never had the grace to enter Eddie's mind and make a home in the cracks and crevices of his being. A thought that should have been eradicated upon first notice.
Because his want of Steve Harrington is absurd.
It's ridiculous.
It's laughable.
It's insane that even for a moment Eddie entertains it.
Because he shouldn't.
He fucking can't.
—
Steve's POV
They stand there in silence for a while. The rustle of the leaves and the quiet rasp of Eddie's breath the only sound to be heard. Steve still stings with the need and want to reach out and feel Eddie beneath his fingertips, to feel the warmth of pale skin and the scratch of stubble under his palm. But he resists.
Eddie keeps his eyes trained to the side as he whispers a 'thanks' and finds a bandaid to press to his own skin, stretching it over his brow and another over his cheek.
Against all instinct, Steve gives the man his space. Not giving into the deep seeded need to inspect Eddie's entire body for any unseen damage. He's sure it's there, it's blatantly obvious by the wince the man lets go as he slips from the car's hood to settle his feet on the ground. It's a hardly concealed thing when Eddie's knee buckles and he catches himself with a hand on the car.
Steve wants nothing more than to reach out and hold him.
But he can't.
He can't, so he distracts himself by putting the first aid kit back in the car, taking the time to suck in a grounding breath and count to three maybe a few more times than necessary.
It's only when he hears Eddie's voice that he's able to steel himself and move back to the front of the car, "I'm- uh, I'm gonna head back in… T-thanks again, for, you know, patching me up." He gestures with a ring clad hand to his face with a tight lipped smile and hunched anxious shoulders.
Looking at the man and the obvious exhaustion that's settled deep into his bones, Steve can't help but think that Eddie should go home. He should go home and lay in bed and let Steve take care of him. Let him hold an ice pack to his sore knee and let him kiss every bump, every bruise, every impending scar.
Steve shuffles uncomfortably, trying to meet Eddie's eye as he asks, "You sure you don't just wanna go home? I- I can drive you."
It's a dangerous thing to ask, mostly for the fact that Steve knows it'd hurt like hell to leave. To drive away and know Eddie's in the trailer alone, tending to his wounds without someone by his side.
Eddie shakes his head and Steve watches as a mask of nonchalance slips over his face. Once scared eyes shift to something indecipherable and finally meet Steve's, Eddie speaks, tone level and teasing, "I'll be fine Harrington. Plus, I wouldn't want to disappoint those kids of yours, now would I?"
There's something like a smirk teasing Eddie's broken lip when he turns around and heads for the school not bothering to wait for a response. Trying to disguise a limp and his anxiety that's so blatantly obvious to Steve, Eddie walks away, never once chancing a look back to the man following close behind.
Back inside, walking through the doors of the drama room, it falls silent. The chatter stops and the kids twist their heads around to look while Gareth stands with worry in his eyes as he takes in what he now knows to be an injured man before him, "Ed, man, you alright?"
Eddie continues into the room with a self-deprecating laugh, "I'll be fine Garbear. Just those fuckin' Bible Thumpin' Jocks again."
It's just an act, the humour, the carelessness, the way Eddie plasters on a smile like he hadn't just gotten the shit kicked out of him less than an hour ago. Steve wonders if anyone else notices. Notices the slightly too wide smile, the scared eyes, the way that fake grin slips the second Eddie's lips are out of sight. Notices the poorly constructed mask Eddie's been known to hide himself behind.
Gareth probably does. He's always been attentive like that and by the look of concern still creasing the man's face, Steve's sure he does.
Steve tries to not think too much about it as he settles in for the evening. Falling into the chair where he sat no less than a couple months ago, tucked away in the corner. He takes in his surroundings, the familiarity of it all. He thinks back to the first time he sat in this chair, how he was just as sceptical as anyone else, there purely for the fact to keep an eye on his kids.
He never expected to fall in love. Especially not with Eddie Munson of all people.
But he did.
He did and now he sits here watching Eddie introduce himself to the kids as if it's the first time, a genuine smile and bright eyes as he welcomes them to Hellfire with a flourish.
Gareth and the guys pretend to do the same, shaking Dustin's, Mike's and Lucas' hands, sharing smiles of their own.
Steve's thankful for them.
They weren't part of the fray lost to the vastness of Eddie's mind, but they were more than willing to help Steve and the kids reenter the man's life.
He'd grown fond of them in the last year and was glad to have them as support along the way for whatever was to come next.
Next being the very real possibility that things may never be the same as they were a couple months ago.
Next being the very real possibility that Eddie may never fully recover.
That Eddie, for all Steve knows, may never love him again.
Never hold him again.
Never call him Sweetheart or Love or Sunshine ever again.
Steve shudders a breath and tries to will away his spiral as shuffles in his chair, trying to find comfort in the loneliness he feels weighed down by. He wishes he could be sat next to Eddie. Sat next to the man he loves and longs for once again. Sat next to the man with a hand in his own and words of endearment whispered against the shell of his ear.
Watching the introductions and handshakes come to a close, Steve settles in for what feels to be a long night.
Shifting in his own chair Eddie twists with a wince to see Steve sat away from the group. His brows furrow and he looks like he's mulling something over before he speaks. Tone calm and maybe a little nervous, he invites Steve over with a crick of his neck, "Harrington, you patched me up man. I'm not gonna make you sit in the corner."
With a flutter in his chest Steve nods, flashes a tight lipped smile as pulls his chair closer to the group, choosing to sit between Dustin and Eddie.
He can allow himself this he thinks, being sat so close to the man he loves, relishing in the smell of Eddie's cologne, breathing it in like a drug, hoping it'll sustain him until the next time they see each other.
Struggling to keep his eyes elsewhere and not locked onto the man next to him, Steve snags Dustin's character sheet, the young boy squawking in protest. Holding the paper in his lap, pretending he understands anything that's written down, Steve skims the page. It's not a moment later that he feels Eddie's eyes on him.
"What?" He asks curiously, quietly, voice just above a whisper, looking to his right to find Eddie with his big beautiful eyes and rosy cheeks staring right at him.
Eddie coughs into his fist, ripping his gaze away from Steve and mutters a quiet, choked out, "Nothing."
On the other side of the table Steve watches as Eddie's friends whisper back and forth, Gareth suddenly jumping with a yelp as Eddie most likely kicks him in the shin with a hissed and not so quiet, "Shut. Up."
Their evening continues like so. Eddie's friends antagonising the poor guy over lord know what, the man himself sending Gareth what Steve knows to be a weightless death glare and the kids having the time of their life. It's in those moments that Steve watches Eddie's once plastered on and calculated grin turn into something unbridled and beautiful. Something he remembers falling in love with.
It's in those moments that Steve drinks in every ounce of Eddie Munson that he's allowed.
He thinks back to the start of everything. Their everything. To when he first brought the kids to Hellfire and sat in the corner for what felt like weeks, watching Eddie from afar, falling more and more in love with the man by the minute. The manic energy, the glimmer in his eye, the way he voiced every character and planned his campaigns out to a 'T'.
Those memories run like a reel through his mind as Eddie does much the same. Granted he's a little slower and wincing in pain every so often as he tries to act out the motions of a very boisterous bar keep that the adventurers have encountered, but he's still a beautiful thing to watch.
Again Steve finds his eyes tracing the figure before him. The animated movements, the way Eddie's lip twitches with a smile when he has something hidden up his sleeve. The rosy hue to his cheeks, the sharp look in his eye, the way, when Steve looks long enough those dark eyes meet his own.
He's sure he's staring, but at the moment he can't bring himself to care.
–
An hour and a burning vastness in his chest later, Steve watches as the guys pack up and Eddie has a quiet conversation with the kids at the door. Dustin's beaming, Lucas' eyes are wide and Mike has a greatly out of character grin spreading across his face.
Whatever it is that they're talking about, Steve's sure he'll hear about it on the way home.
It's nearly dark when they make it outside, the sky a wash of pinks and oranges, fading to black. The doors to the school crash against brick walls with a bang as Dustin flings them open with a flourish. There's chatter and laughter and Steve's heart soars with the familiarity of it all.
Through the chaos he can make out Eddie's laughter, the rasp and roll of his words as he struggles to sputter out something in reaction to whatever it was that Dustin's said.
Nostalgic is what comes to mind when warmth fills Steve's chest and he savours the sound as it meets his ears. He hasn't heard Eddie's laughter in over a month and the realisation of the fact is shattering in its own way.
Shattering much like the happiness in this moment that they've created when the sounds of a window breaking trickles into the air.
The group falls silent, halting in their tracks as they try to single out the source of the sound. Maybe it's the years of monster hunting, the trauma that it's caused, but Steve can see how the kids are on high alert, ready and waiting for the worst case scenario. Even if it was just a few weeks ago El confirmed that the Upside Down had essentially imploded, they're still on the ready for the 'what if'.
But the source proves itself soon enough as three silhouettes run out from behind Eddie's van and down the street to a parked sedan, jumping in with haste and squealing their tires on their abrupt getaway.
Anger fills his chest and he wishes he would have done something more than just stand there and watch. But maybe it was the relief that it was people and not monsters that left his feet rooted to the steps of Hawkins High.
But than a gutted whisper comes from behind him, a breathless, broken, "What the fuck?"
He turns to see Eddie, the joy that'd finally found its way to his face is gone and it's like he doesn't even have the energy to pull on a mask as he stands there in shock. Brows furrowed, eyes glassy, he doesn't move for a moment, not until Steve watches Gareth clasp his shoulder and offer a comforting squeeze.
It's a slow, cautious thing from there, Eddie making his way to the van, Gareth and the guys in tow as Steve tells the kids to get in the car with a hardly audible hiss.
The kids are quiet, concerned and the look on Dustin's face nearly breaks his heart. Steve ruffles the kid's hair, trying to offer some reassurance before he ducks into the car and Steve finds himself moving to join the four that now stand with shattered glass at their feet next to Eddie's van.
Eddie's still speechless, it's a stark comparison to how Steve knows him normally to be. Though that's not to say he hasn't seen the man in silence before; contemplative, considering, content. But Steve's never seen this. The devastation, the exhaustion. The way Eddie begins to shake and he brings clenched fists to wrap around his waist while still remaining silent.
Steve wants to say something, wants to reach out and take those tightly clasped hands in his own and soothe. He wants to be the voice of reason and reassurance. But he can't.
He can't so he looks to Gareth with pleading eyes for him to do something, say something.
The man shares a glance and Steve watches as Gareth's hand tightens on Eddie's shoulder and the eldest man chokes out a whisper of, "Gar I - I can't afford this."
In the meantime the other guys are silent, surveying the wreckage before them and slowly beginning to wander with cautious steps over broken glass and what Steve can see to be a can of spray paint on the other side of the van.
He bristles at the sight and hopes to anyone that's listening that Eddie doesn't round the driver's side to see the remaining damage. It's obvious by the look on Jeff's face that it isn't anything good.
The younger man who he's only grown to know in the last year moves to stand at his side. Eyeing Eddie to ensure he doesn't overhear, Jeff leans nearer and whispers, "Both driver side tires are slashed and they spray painted 'Murderer' across the whole side."
Steve's stomach plummets but all he's able to offer in response is a nod.
The guys don't know about all the shit that went down, but Steve knows they believed Eddie's innocence from the beginning. They're good guys and great friends to Eddie and even after profusely apologising for being a prick all throughout high-school, Steve still feels guilty when in their presence. Even after Eddie lost his memory, they still treated Steve as one of their own. Maybe they didn't check on him in the last weeks, but from Wayne, he knows they've at least asked about him. Offered their help.
Plus, he's sure at the very least that Gareth has an inkling as to what he and Eddie have been up to in the last year. He's never said anything, but Steve's sure the man knows something, if the sideways glances, eye rolls and teasing smiles are anything to go by.
After a moment Steve finally speaks, "Just, uh, don't let him see it okay?"
Jeff offers a tight lipped grimace, shares a sad glance and nods to where Eddie and Gareth are standing a few feet in front of them, "You able to take him home? I would man, but I've got the other two plus a shit ton of band gear." There's a quiet self deprecating laugh before he adds, "We hardly fit Gareth in the back."
"Y- yeah. Not a problem. I'll uh, I'll just go let the kids know."
Jeff's nods and makes his way to the guys at the same time Steve's turns to go back to the car. He can see the concern on their faces as he approaches. Upon opening the door and bending to cock his head into the cab, he's met with Dustin's immediate inquiry, "What happened?"
He contemplates lying, telling them it's nothing, but these kids have seen enough shit, something like this won't bother them too much. It's just unfortunate. "I think the same guys who beat him up trashed the van too. Broken windows, slashed tires, Jeff said there's some spray paint on the other side." He doesn't know what else to say for a moment, not until Lucas speaks up, asking, "There anything we can do to help?"
To that Steve nods, asks them to cram into the back and lets them know that they're taking Eddie home. Normally asking Dustin to vacate the passenger seat would be a fight, but he goes willingly, though be it scrambling over the seat instead of using the door.
Making his way towards the four standing near the van, Steve watches Jeff lean in and speak to Eddie, the older man looking to his friend with a confused expression and furrowed brows, but as Jeff nods and cricks his head in Steve's direction, he can't help the swell of warmth in his chest seeing the look in Eddie's eyes. There's confusion, but there's warmth and something he's yet to decipher.
"You sure Harrington?" Eddie asks, sounding just a touch breathless and all the bit exhausted.
Steve nods, looks towards the car where the kids seem to be arguing in the back seat, pushing and shoving when he's sure he hears Dustin yelp.
"Yeah Munson. Now get in before Dustin decides to commandeer the front seat and you're stuck in the back with those two."
—
They're about a mile down the road and Eddie hasn't moved an inch from where he settled with his head against the glass and his shoulders curled inward, arms wrapped around his waist, hiding his face behind a veil of dark curls.
The kids are quiet, uncharacteristically so, reduced to whispers and shared glances. Many times through the rearview mirror does Steve catch their concerned expressions sent in Eddie's direction, especially so when they quietly vacate the vehicle one by one.
Once the kids are gone and the car's even further filled with uncomfortable silence, Steve regrets his earlier decision to not bother putting in a tape when they left the school. The silence and the faint, occasional sniffle from Eddie's side of the vehicle is too much. He wants nothing more than to reach out, lay his palm on Eddie's thigh and squeeze. Just something simple, let him know that he's there if he needs him. But he can't.
He can't, so he does something that he knows at the very least will distract Eddie. Keeping his eyes on the road, Steve blindly digs through the centre console, eventually coming out with a tape in hand. With little struggle he ejects what was in the player, not bothering to look at it as he pops in his 'Tears For Fears' cassette.
Thirty seconds into the first song and Steve hears a snort come from the other man. He can't help the warmth that fills his chest at the sound.
"'Course you listen to Tears For Fears." Eddie huffs to the glass of the window, his smirk left visible through the reflection looking back at him.
Steve smiles to himself, feeling warmth in his chest, knowing at least in this moment he's making Eddie feel something other than dread.
The first song plays through and when the cassette reaches 'Head Over Heels,' Steve can't help but snicker, "Guess I'm Head Over Heels for Tears For Fears."
Eddie snorts a laugh and sits up enough to lull his head to the side to face Steve. His cheeks are rosy and his eyes are rimmed red but Steve can't help but think he's still beautiful.
They're silent for a while, a few more songs playing through while Steve obnoxiously taps his fingers to the beat trying to pull another smile out of Eddie. He's successful after a moment and it's then that Steve builds the confidence to finally ask what's been wearing on him since earlier in the evening, "Hey, um, back at the school you'd said something about 'it's just the Bible Thumping Jocks again'."
Eddie's eyes search the side of Steve's face for a moment, he can feel them settle as he continues to drive and Eddie asks cautiously, "What about it Harrington?"
"This happen to you a lot?"
There's a contemplative hum from the passenger seat and in the same instant the tape turns to silence, Eddie answers, "Nothing like the van, but yeah. Getting the shit beat out of me is a pretty regular occurrence."
Steve hums in response, it's nothing he doesn't know, when he and Eddie were together he'd been told as much, but still, he can't help but ask, "Lately?"
While Eddie worries his cheek and he chances another look at Steve, gravel begins to crunch under the tires as they turn into the trailer park. It's only when they're pulling up to the Munson home that Eddie answers, something hesitant in his tone, "Been worse since I got out of the hospital."
Steve nods, slowing the car to a stop and throwing it in park before he responds with a faint, "Sorry."
Sitting in front of the Munson trailer with Eddie quiet and at his side, Steve tries his hardest to not let his emotions get the best of him. He tries to not think of the hundreds of times he's been here before. Not the date's, not the kisses shared on the roof in the dead of night, not the times they danced in the kitchen or the umpteen unfortunate occurrences when they got caught on the couch doing the one thing Wayne explicitly asked them not to.
He tries to not think about any of it.
Especially when his chest begins to tighten and he can feel tears beginning to well.
He'd unlocked the door when they pulled up, half expecting Eddie to run for the hills upon the vehicle coming to a stop, but the man stays sat in his passenger seat, looking back at him with something akin to concern in his eyes.
And Steve can't fucking take it. He grits his teeth and tries to reign in his composure, but it damn near crumbles when Eddie so sweetly asks him what's wrong and he has to feign something that's not devastation when he answers, "Nothing ya need t' worry about Munson."

꒷꒦⋆⑅˚₊┈ • ┈ ・ʚɞ ・ ┈ • ┈₊˚⑅⋆꒷꒦
It was an exam-busy exam week. Every day, I've been scrutinizing another subject book. Yesterday, I was so into the physics formulas that even they'd flashed my dreams. I felt nauseous. And now, I was losing my mind in Edgar Alan Poe's Raven. I had no idea what I was reading. I was too off.
My mind stormed out the thoughts as the door knock interrupted me losing in more.
‘Hey!’ I heard Eddie’s husky voice behind the door without hesitating I opened the door. He was standing in front of me alive. I jumped in his arms and hugged him tightly.
‘God, I miss this.’ He chuckled and leisurely his hands traveled on my back. He leaned back and grabbed my chin. I realized what would happen next so dragged him inside, not to be seen.
Eddie was in my senior year, I was in my junior… We have known each other since primary school. Dating was expected for his uncle, especially; he always said that we were meant for each other even though my Mom was quite offensive yet, she was glad to date someone I’d already known. However, Eddie was quite the kind of guy that parents never want for their daughter. He has tattoos, swears a lot, and has long messy hair. At least, for my mom, he was.
His exams had already ended last week. So he was free as a bird when I lost myself in the logarithm problems. It was kind of a habit of me going missing during the exam week that’s why Eddie hates exams weeks. Hellfire club friends found a way to creep out somewhere else in his mood in these weeks. But, they usually whine up all the time.
He smirked at my concern and grabbed my chin again. Positioned himself in front of my table.
‘You are one to talk!’ I joked around. His naughty touches spread through my hips and ended to grab them and pushing me to my table. I closed my eyes and sighed as he was leaning closer to my face.
Our lips collided finally; He forced me to wrap my arms around his neck. He smiled between the kiss then I let him get inside. Our lips were gently moving, finding a perfect harmony it was getting more fierce and more and more. He moaned into my lips and we parted unwilling to breathe. Didn’t take too much time he leaned back and this time, it was more rough and wild.
He lifted my body from the table and stepped to my bed. Unlike his kiss, he was deadly slow and gently left me on the bed. I trembled with the coldness of my bed. Even though we were still fully dressed I felt like my body was in the oven and we were burning high in there.
He spread my legs apart and placed himself closer. Our T-shirts were the only obstacle between us. Not too late he took the hem of my T-shirt and took it off, like ripping them off.
He tried to throw my T-shirt to the other side of the room. However, It stayed hung on my headboard, it was dangling on it, sighted the piece of cloth a light chuckle spread from his mouth forcefully.
‘I didn't make any plan for this.’ He breathed out. I closed my eyes as I inhaled his hot breath into my lungs. ‘My mom gonna piss off.’ I chuckled as he laughed at my answer.
‘I told her we are just studying.’ He said melodically, stealing another kiss.
‘She won’t believe you, Munson.’ I folded my fingers into his curls taking a quick gaze on his dark brown waves.
'You are so beautiful.' He took me back to his attention; his sparkling brown orbs had me rumbling my heart.
This time, I escaped from his hands before grabbing his jacket's collar and smashing our lips. I took off his jacket from his sleeves and pushed it without looking where it went.
There were a couple of books on my bed, he tossed it elsewhere. I heard the flying paper sounds around the room. He landed himself on the bed and positioned me at the same time. It was the longer the more passionate kiss I was about to forget to take a breath.
However, good things didn’t last long. We actually forgot to lock the door, again and it lead to barging in for my mom easily.
We parted unwillingly. He tossed his jacket to me.
‘We got caught up!’ He wrapped arms around me not forgetting to lean a wet kiss on my cheek.
She was looking at us tiredly and left the pancake plate on the table.
‘Is it poisoned?’ He teased; she rolled her eyes and murmured something.
‘Don’t forget to study honey!’ She passed his words. I nodded as she closed the door behind us.
I turned to Eddie; he was looking at me.
‘I think we should eat later.’ His devilish smile caused me to laugh him back. He pushed me back to my bed.

HEY! The long awaited Chapter six is here!
Tw: mentions of abandonment, recurring thoughts that can be destructive, Eddie being a little flirt at the end!
‘86 // Chapter Six: The Campaign
I try not to run excitedly as I get out of the bathroom. The sheer fact I still have Eddie is enough for me to scream on the rooftop of the school, letting everyone know The Babe and The Freak are here to stay. I start to think about what just happened. What transpired. My power over him, my control. The way it felt. Man, I can’t wait for later.
“Act natural Rox. You don't want the guys wondering.” I tell myself as I approach the theatre room for a second time, freshly clean. I open the doors and make my grand entrance. “Hi babe. Missed me?” I cockily walk in, surprising the boys, sans my brother and Mike. Eddie can’t help but to smirk, which Gareth notices and chuckles a bit, while Jeff and Grant are just stunned. “Roxie, my darling!” Eddie walks up to me, checking me out up and down. “You came….” He pulls me in for a kiss, then whispers “Good job sweetheart.”
“Thank you.” I say quietly trying not to laugh. Then, Eddie does his stupid smirk. I start giggling a bit, which causes him to laugh as well. The guys look at us amusingly. “Are you guys good?” Grant chimes in, noticing Eddie and I looking rather guilty. Gareth lifts his hands up in our defense. “Okay, or, they haven’t seen each other all day. Remember, Roxie wasn’t with us at lunch. Give them a break.” He catches our drift and nods at us. Eddie nods back. “Well, whatever happened, we’re glad your back Rox. It wasn’t the same without you.” Jeff reassures me.
“Yeah, it definitely wasn’t. It was off, that's for sure.” I notice the absence of the other two more. “Where’s Dustin and Mike? And Lucas?” I act dumb, knowing Lucas was at the game. “Sinclair has turned to the dark side, and thus, won’t be able to join.” Eddie says. “So, those dipshits need to find a sub… too late though, unless you want to join?” Gareth jokes. “Oh I’d love to…” I hold Eddie by his bicep. “But, I’d rather sit on my throne and watch as you guys act like fools.” I say to the three boys, which makes Eddie proud. “That’s my girl.”
We all laugh then pause when we hear the doors open and grow silent. Here comes Dustin and Mike, looking high and mighty with their sub, none other than Erica Sinclair. A smug smile forms on my face knowing what she’s capable of. When we were in the eighth grade, Nancy and I would jointly babysit Erica and Holly. The boys too, but they would always play DND. The four of us girls would dress as elves for part of it. It was quite fun actually. Erica was always such a smart mouth and I loved that about her. She’s extremely smart and knowing her, she’d knock the wind out of Eddie with her knowledge. I watch as the three approach the gaming table. I stand behind Eddie as the other three stand with Eddie.
Eddie sits on his throne and crosses his hands under his chin. I stand next to it with my hand resting on the arm rest. The other three guys stand on the side to watch this go down. “Absolutely not.” Eddie harshly says sending chills down my spine. I look on and make eye contact with my brother with his pleading eyes. He looks back at Eddie. “You asked for a sub. We delivered.” Dustin gestures to Erica, who smiles at me and I smile back. “This is Hellfire Club, not babysitting club.” “I’m eleven you long haired freak.” Yep, she still has it. I try not to laugh a bit. She’s still that sassy little girl I remember. “My my, the child speaks.” Eddie laughs looking at the four of us. Grant laughs. Eddie gets up.
“What’s your name, child?” Eddie challenges. “Erica Sinclair.” Eddie laughs deviously connecting the dots. “So, this is Sinclair’s infamous sister.” Erica rolls her eyes and looks at the two boys behind her. “Rox.” Gareth whispers. “Yes?” “Didn’t you babysit her?” He asks. I nod. “Yes. Shhh.” I say putting my right index finger on my cherry red lips watching everything go down. “He’s sharp.” Erica sarcastically says causing the three boys on the side to laugh, I just stand there smiling. “Come on, show him what you’re made of.” I think to myself. Eddie glares at the boys, making them stop. Eddie continues to challenge Erica.
“What’s your class and level? Level one dwarf?” C’mon Erica, show him! Dustin and Mike are terrified, the other three are laughing hysterically. “My name is Lady Applejack. And I’m a chaotic good half elf-rogue level 14. And I will sneak behind any monster you throw my way and stand them in the back with my poison-soaked kukri. And I’ll smile as I watch them die a slow, agonizing death. So, we gonna do this or are we gonna keep chitchatting like this is your mamas book club?” Owned. “Roxie, babe C’mere.” Eddie says stunned as I walk up to my DM and Erica smiles. “Hi Lady Applejack.” I say smiling. “Hi Roxie, I’m assuming you’re the tie breaker.”
I laugh nodding. ”I’m the Dungeon Mistress. I oversee everything, and correct the DM if he makes a mistake.” Eddie looks at me shocked. “Babe.” He growls. “Shh baby.” I say holding his arm. Erica laughs. “So, tell your long haired freak boyfriend I’m good.” Eddie looks at me intensely and I look at him back. “Babe, trust me. Lady Applejack knows her stuff. She’ll wow you. I babysat her all the time. She’s a little bad ass…. Please…. Do it for me.” I rub his arm softly but almost sensually. Eddie gives in giving me a kiss and turns back to Erica, sticking out his hand. “Welcome to Hellfire.”
We all cheer now that we have a sub. Eddie and the boys go to set everything up. Erica comes up to me. “So, that’s your boyfriend huh?” I laugh. “Yeah, he sure is! Actually, our one year is coming up in a couple of days.” I smile at her, she giggles. “You’ve put up with him for almost a year? That’s wild.” “Yeah… but I do love him. He’s actually really sweet. Passionate.” “If he hurts you, let me know and I’ll be happy to kick his ass.” My eyes widen. “ERICA!” “What? I’m only speaking the truth. I miss my favorite babysitter.” I give her a hug. “I miss you too!” “C’mon ladies!” Eddie yells. “Kick some ass Lady Applejack.”
************************
“The hooded cultists chant… ‘Hail Lord Vecna. Hail Lord Vecna.’ They turn to you. Remove their hoods. You recognize them from Makbar. There was one you do not recognize. His skin shriveled, desiccated. Something else, he’s not only missing his left arm, but his left eye!” Eddie exclaims covering his left eye as everyone freaks out. “VECNA’S DEAD!” “He was killed by Kas!” I let out a menacing chuckle. “So it was thought my friends. SO IT WAS THOUGHT! But Vecna LIVES!” Eddie slams the figure down onto the board much to everyone’s dismay.
Something about him being in his element gets me going. I just fucking love seeing him being so passionate. It suddenly has me lost in thought. I just can’t help but to think about how I would let myself think that Eddie would cheat on me. Why would I think that? How did that ever come to mind? Chrissy is such a sweet girlZ I highly doubt she’d do such a thing. Maybe my past with my father is coming back to haunt me. I know Eddie would never hurt me. So, why would I even question it?
Dustin begins to notice my worry. I try to snap out of it because of the possibility of Dustin hating Eddie. Eddie was another brother figure to him. I can’t take that away from Dusty Bun. “Do you flee Vecna and his cultists or do you stand your ground to fight?” Eddie brings me out of my thoughts. He and I watch in anticipation. “I say we fight.” Dustin states. “To the death.” I smile. That’s my brother. “To the death. TO THE DEATH!” Everyone chants, making their Dungeon Master and Mistress proud.
Erica rolls the dove as I grip onto Eddie’s hand tightens. We both look into each other's eyes intensely. “You okay babe?” He snaps out of being DM for a split second and starts rubbing my hand with his thumb. “Yeah… I just…” I know not to keep him hanging. “I just hate myself thinking the worst.” Eddie grabs and holds my face with his hand, not thinking about the others. “Rox, don’t ever hate yourself okay? I love you so fucking much.” We kiss and continue watching. Everyone gets eager, annoyed and excited all in one.
We’re all screaming and I watch Erica get increasingly aggravated. Dustin and Mike are yelling at each other. Eddie knocks things over. The yelling continues. The panic continues. I watch Eddie get up from his seat, climbing on the table, making me feral on the inside. “TIMEOUT! TIMEOUT!” Grant frantically yells. The six of them huddle in a corner to figure things out. Eddie sits back on his throne and opens his arms out for me.
I sit on his lap and he tangles his arms around me. “I love you, you know that?” Eddie says playing with my hair. “Yes, of course I do.” “And you know I would never abandon you. Ever.” I rub my hand on his chest. “Yeah… but ugh. I don’t know. I just… I’m terrified of things repeating themselves. Our dad left. And it wrecked me. There are times when I feel worthless and it sucks.” Eddie grows more serious. “You are not worthless, okay sweetheart? Your father is a real asshat for leaving you and Dustin. I would never leave you my love. I love you so much sweetheart. Forever and always.” Our foreheads touch each other and we kiss. “I love you too Eds.” We kiss and watch as the six bicker. “Pussies.” “Pussy ‘cause we’re not delusional.” Eddie smirks at me. “Watch this.” He winks then turns around.
“HEY!” Eddie yells as they look frighteningly at him. “If I may interject gentlemen, Lady Applejack.” He smiles at me. “My Mistress.” I kiss his cheek before he gets up. He continues. “Whilst I respect the passion, you’d be wise to take Gareth The Great’s concern to heart. There is no shame in running.” My heart beats fast at the feeling of need. “Don’t try to be heroes. Not today, ‘Kay?” He smirks. “One second.” Dustin days before they huddle up once more.
I bite my bottom lip and Eddie looks back at me. “Later sweetheart.” He mouths, making me explode. I look over at the group, hoping they do continue. They did say “fight to the death” after all. As Dustin’s older sister, I’m rooting for him. I come up to Eddie and rest my arm on his shoulder. He instinctively grabs my hand and kisses it. “Do you think they’re going to do it?” Eddie asks. “Knowing Dustin and Lady Applejack, a hundred percent darling.”
“Screw it!” They break the huddle and turn back to us. “Let’s kill the son of a bitch.” Dustin proudly states. The six now return to the table and we continue the game. “Give me the D20.” Dustin demands as Eddie smiles and throws the dice. Dustin nervously but also confidently rolls it as we all watch, scared shitless. It hits the board and Eddie screams “THAT’S A MISS!” While head banging and shaking his head making his messy tussles wave frantically.
“No!” “C‘mon!” “Dammit!” Everyone groans. I really wanted Dustin to kill Vecna. I look over at my lover, who gives me a knowing look and nods. “Lady Applejack, this is your chance.” I say to her. She confidently nods and then rolls the D20. We’re all silent watching the dove roll. I rest my hand on Eddie’s broad shoulder, which is very tense from this campaign. The D20 finally lands.
“A hit!” Erica screams as the roar of our triumph erupts. Erica stand tall and mighty with her American flag draped around her as the boys cheer. I grab Eddie’s face and give him a “congratulations we killed Vecna!” kiss. “You did it babe.” I squeal. Eddie chuckles and holds my hips firmly. “No sweetheart, we did it!” We kiss again and Eddie turns to everyone.
“That’s how we play!” He bows and holds his arms out, which I admire from behind at the game table. Dustin ecstatically comes up and pulls me in for a hug. “I love you so much. Thank you for being here for me… and introducing me to the Hellfire Club. You’re the best sister ever!” “The BEST GIRLFRIEND EVER!” Eddie states wrapping his arms around me from behind and resting his chin on my shoulder. I blush and stroke his cheek. “Most importantly, thank you for introducing me to Eddie. And Eddie, thank you for making my sister happy.” Dustin, I can tell wants to speak to me alone. Eddie seems to understand as he comes in front of me and Dustin. “Hey, I’ll be right back.” He gives me a kiss on the cheek and goes to talk to Erica a bit.
Dustin stands beside me and looks at me concerned furrowing his eyebrows. “Where were you today? It was so weird….. actually almost ominous without you.” Now, Dustin and I tell each other everything. We made that promise when our father left. At the same time, I’m terrified I’ll ruin what Eddie is to him, a hero. His hero. “Dustin…” I hesitate looking somber at the ground. “Rox, what happened? Remember, we tell each other everything.” I give in. “Fine.” I start. “You know Chrissy Cunningham?” “Yeah…” “Well… Earlier, when Eddie and I came back from the cabin, Robin, Gareth and I were walking to class when we saw Eddie and her talking on the way to second period.” “Oh my god.” Dustin’s in shock and i can sense a little anger.
Oh no. “Dustin, wait.” I calm him down by grabbing his arm lightly. “He isn’t cheating. Before the campaign, we talked about it… it’s a drug deal. I didnt want to say anything about it because you never knew what he does. Chrissy’s going through a rough patch. He’s not a bad person, Dustin. He has a huge heart. He’d never hurt me. Or you. Ever.” Dustin sighs in relief. “Besides, he’d have to face the wrath of the mighty Dustin Henderson and me of course. However, he’s a good guy!” I say smiling over to my master. “Good. I hate seeing you hurt. You and Eddie are perfect together.” I smile at his comment and give him a hug. “You really miss Suzie don’t you?” “So much. I hope somehow we can communicate.” “Me too bro.”
We go back to the crowd. I wrap my arm around Eddie’s waist. “Hey sweetheart. Everything okay?” He asks as the dim lighting makes his smile brighter. “Yeah. He was just worried about me.” I rest my head on his chest. “Aw that’s so sweet.” “Yeah, don’t worry. He doesn’t hate you. The kids love you!” I say laughing. Eddie looks at the time. “Shit. It’s almost time.” I realize it as well. “Shit yeah…” “Do you need a ride?” I shake my head. “No, no. Harrington and Robin have me…. Promise me something.” I say holding him tightly. “Yes sweetheart?” He raises his eyebrows. “Please be careful and you both be safe. Seriously, no funny business. That last part I was half joking. But, seriously, please be safe. I love you.” He kisses me tenderly, I lay my hands on his chest, his heart’s beating rapidly. “I love you too sweetheart. So much. When it’s done, I’ll head straight to the cabin. That way we can…” he smirks slightly rubbing my waist and I playfully slap him. “BABE!” “I’m kidding! Not really but I’ll see you later okay?” We kiss again and i walk out waving at everyone.
