oh my my my…
🌙💚✨🎄🥂
summary: you’ve been in love with your best friend claire’s older sister you’re whole life. but she never saw you as anything more than her little sisters awkward best friend. or so she thought… until you come home from college one semester and billie comes home from tour at the same time… and things are different.
a/n: billie is 24 in this and reader and claire are 21. billie is still billie, just add in claire with her and finneas. you and the o’connells have a close dynamic so it’s not weird for you to hang with the family while claire goes to bed or vice versa when she is at your house;) you haven’t seen billie since maybe she was 19 (touring and college kept you apart)
alsoooo i love hot older sister billie!! would you guys want like a prelude to this??
The house smelled like cinnamon and pine, the familiar warmth of the holidays wrapping around me as I lounged on the O’Connell family couch. Claire and I were sprawled out like we always were, eating snacks and laughing at cheesy Christmas movies. The glow from the tree lights reflected off the glasses of festive cocktails Maggie had let us make. It felt like old times—just Claire and me, like nothing had changed.
Except everything had changed.
We were both 21 now, adults in every sense of the word. College had shaped us into versions of ourselves we’d only dreamed of becoming as teenagers. Claire was thriving, confident and bubbly as ever, while I had finally grown into myself. I felt like the clumsy, awkward little kid who used to trail after Claire, Billie, and Finneas was long gone. I was finally… me.
But I hadn’t seen Billie in years.
She’d been busy touring, winning awards, and becoming a global icon while I was figuring out my life at school. And, if I was honest with myself, I was glad for the distance. For years, I’d been so hopelessly in love with her that it hurt. But somewhere between the late-night study sessions and messy dorm-room heartbreaks, I convinced myself I’d moved on.
Until today.
The door swung open with a flourish, the chilly December air rushing in as Billie stepped inside.
“Billie!” Claire yelled, launching herself off the couch and tackling her sister in a hug. The room filled with laughter and the sound of their excited chatter, but I stayed back, my drink clutched in my hands, watching them.
And then Billie’s eyes found mine.
For a moment, the world seemed to stop.
She looked the same but different—older, more mature, with that same air of effortless cool that had always made my stomach flutter. Her black hair, now long and layered, framed her face perfectly. Her jawline was sharp enough to cut glass, her light blue eyes intense and unreadable as they swept over me.
And I couldn’t help but notice the way her breath hitched for just a fraction of a second.
“Y/N?” she said, her voice lower than I remembered, like velvet.
“Hi, Billie,” I said, standing and giving her a small smile.
I could feel her gaze linger as I crossed the room to give her a polite hug. It was quick, casual—nothing out of the ordinary—but the way her hand brushed my back sent a shiver up my spine.
“You look… different,” Billie said, her voice almost hesitant as she pulled back.
“Yeah, well, it’s been a few years,” I said, tucking a strand of my short hair behind my ear. Her eyes flicked to the movement, lingering on my face for just a moment too long.
Claire pulled Billie into the kitchen, breaking the tension, and I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. She was just Claire’s sister. That’s all she was. Nothing more.
Except when she joined us in the living room, the air shifted.
We settled back into the couch, Billie now sitting next to me. The scent of her perfume—something woodsy and sweet—wrapped around me, making my head spin. She smelled… grown-up. Different from how I remembered.
Then again, everything about her felt different.
As we watched the movie, Billie kept sneaking glances at me. I could feel her eyes on me, the weight of her attention making my skin tingle. I tried to focus on the screen, but it was impossible. Every move she made, every small laugh or casual brush of her arm against mine, sent my mind spiraling.
Eventually, Claire yawned dramatically and stretched. “Alright, I’m beat,” she said, standing and heading toward the stairs. “Don’t stay up too late, you two.”
The door to her room clicked shut, and suddenly it was just Billie and me.
The silence was deafening.
I shifted on the couch, my leg brushing against hers accidentally, and the contact sent a jolt through me. “So,” I said, clearing my throat, “how’s life been? You know, with the whole being a global superstar thing.”
Billie chuckled softly, her voice low and warm. “It’s… a lot. But it’s good. I missed this, though. Being home.” Her eyes softened as she looked at me. “And seeing everyone again.”
I felt my cheeks heat under her gaze. “Yeah, it’s nice to be back,” I said, fidgeting with the hem of my shirt.
For a moment, neither of us spoke. The only sound was the faint hum of the movie in the background.
“You’ve really changed, Y/N,” Billie said suddenly, her voice quiet but firm.
I glanced at her, my heart pounding. “Good change or bad change?”
Her lips quirked into a small smile. “Good change. Definitely good change.”
The way she looked at me then—like she was seeing me for the first time—made my breath catch. It was so different from the way she used to look at me when we were kids, when I was just Claire’s little best friend. Now, there was something else in her gaze. Something I couldn’t quite place but couldn’t ignore.
I tore my eyes away, trying to steady myself. “You’ve changed too,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
Billie leaned back, studying me with an intensity that made my pulse race. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” I said, meeting her eyes. “But you’re still… you.”
Her lips parted slightly, like she was about to say something, but the words didn’t come. Instead, she reached for the remote and turned off the movie, leaving us in silence.
The tension between us was palpable, the kind you could feel in your chest, heavy and overwhelming. For years, I’d dreamed of being this close to her, of having her attention like this. And now that it was happening, I didn’t know what to do.
“So,” Billie said after a moment, her voice soft, “are you seeing anyone?”
The question caught me off guard. “No,” I said quickly, my heart skipping a beat. “Not right now.”
Her eyes flicked to mine, something unreadable in her gaze. “Good.”
The word hung in the air between us, heavy with meaning.
I swallowed hard, unsure of what to say. But before I could think of anything, Billie shifted closer, her knee brushing against mine.
“You know,” she said, her voice low, “it’s weird seeing you like this. All grown up.”
I felt my cheeks flush, but I forced myself to meet her gaze. “Is that a good weird or a bad weird?” I squeaked out, basically repeating my earlier question.
Her lips curved into a slow, almost lazy smile, laughing at my obvious nerves. “Good weird,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Billie tilted her head, her dark hair falling over one shoulder as she studied me with a curious expression. “You cut your hair,” she said, gesturing toward my short hair. “You swore you’d never cut it. You would practically cry at the thought of getting your haircut even a tiny bit when you were little.”
I giggled a bit as I shrugged, feigning nonchalance even though her attention was making my pulse race. “People change.”
“Yeah,” Billie murmured, her voice soft, almost thoughtful. “You definitely have.”
Her eyes lingered on me, sharp and unrelenting, like she was trying to piece together every little detail she’d missed over the years. Finally, her gaze dropped to my ears, her lips twitching into a slight smirk.
“And the piercings?” she asked, raising an eyebrow. “Who are you, and what did you do with little Y/N? I never thought you’d get more than just one little stud on each ear.”
I couldn’t help but laugh, though the sound came out shakier than I intended. “I’ve been collecting them over the years. Do you not like them?”
Billie’s smile softened, her voice dropping an octave. “No, I do. They suit you.”
She leaned in slightly, her dark eyes glinting with curiosity as she inspected the small, sparkling studs and hoops lining my ears. My breath hitched as her face drew closer, her scent filling the space between us. Her fingers reached out, brushing against the shell of my ear as she tucked a strand of my hair behind it, revealing the stack of earrings.
Billie chuckled softly, the sound low and warm, and for a moment, I thought I saw something flicker in her expression—something far from casual. Her hand lingered near my face, her thumb grazing my jawline before retreating, almost as if she realized what she was doing.
“You’ve really grown up, Y/N,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “It’s… new. Seeing you like this.”
The air between us was thick with tension, the kind that made my chest feel tight and my heart pound so hard I was sure she could hear it. Billie’s hand moved again, this time trailing through the ends of my short hair. She toyed with a strand, her fingers grazing my neck as she twirled it absentmindedly.
“This,” she said softly, her voice almost too quiet to hear. “It looks good on you. The short hair. I didn’t think I’d like it, but… I do.”
I didn’t trust myself to speak, so I just nodded, my throat tight as her fingers lingered, her touch light but deliberate.
“I’m serious,” Billie continued, her tone shifting, becoming almost reverent. “You’re not the same little kid who used to follow Claire and me around. You’re… different now. In a good way.”
My breath hitched as her hand dropped from my hair to my shoulder, her thumb brushing against my collarbone. She was so close now, her knee pressing lightly against mine, her dark eyes locked on mine like she was searching for something.
“Billie…” I started, but my voice faltered.
She tilted her head, her lips twitching into the faintest of smiles. “Yeah?” she asked, her voice so soft it sent a shiver down my spine.
“I…” I couldn’t finish the sentence. The tension between us was too much, the weight of it pressing down on me until I couldn’t think straight.
And then Billie closed the distance.
Her lips brushed against mine, soft and tentative at first, like she was testing the waters. But when I didn’t pull away—when I leaned in instead, my hands gripping the fabric of her hoodie—she kissed me fully, her lips warm and firm against mine.
The world seemed to fall away, leaving only the two of us in the dimly lit living room. Her hand slid up to cup my face, her fingers threading gently through the ends of my short hair as she deepened the kiss. It was slow and deliberate, like she was taking her time, savoring every moment.
When we finally pulled back, both of us were breathless, her forehead resting against mine. Neither of us said a word, the silence heavy but comfortable as her thumb brushed gently over my cheek.
“You really have grown up,” Billie whispered, her voice barely audible.
And just like that, everything between us had changed.

Stray Kids' reaction to you texting them "Merry Christmas ya filthy animal" on Christmas day referencing the movie Home Alone 2 : Lost In New York
A/N : Since Advent is round the corner here's a silly Christmas scenario. Picture credit goes to the owner.
Chris
• He'd definitely laugh at your playful message and the Home Alone reference would definitely click with them.
• "Merry Christmas you cheeky little troublemaker 🐺🎄", he texts back.
• He'd call you right after just to hear your voice "so you're quoting movies at me now Y/N ie ? Am I Kevin or am I one of the burglars ?"
• He'd tease you relentlessly but would definitely appreciate you wishing him at midnight.
Minho
• Minho would raise an eyebrow at your cheeky message highly amused by the sheer audacity to text him that.
• "Merry Christmas you brat 🙄. You know what happens to 'filthy animals' right ? Better be careful 😏".
• You'd blush profusely at his reply meanwhile he double texts you a picture of his three precious cats lounging next to the dorm Christmas tree with something like "they're watching you".
Changbin
• He would probably be producing a track late at night while you text him that sharp at midnight.
• He would laugh at your text, clearly amused. "Merry Christmas bunny 💕. But hey we all know who the real 'filthy animal' is over here 😏".
• He'd probably video call you soon after asking you what you got him for Christmas and would make plans for the day wanting to spend it with you.
Hyunjin
• Hyunjin would be startled at first, staring at the message like "Is she calling me filthy ?!" But then he’d remember the movie reference and start giggling.
• "Excuse me ? I'm practically an angel and not a filthy animal 😤 . And Merry Christmas to you too you absolute menace ❣️".
• Hed probably just send you a selfie later, pouting and asking you "so do I look like a filthy animal to you now ?"
Jisung
• Boy would probably be munching on some late night Christmas snack and would almost spit out the food at your message, putting down the phone to laugh at it.
• "HOW DARE YOU !! I'm the cleanest animal here, thank you very much. But Merry Christmas to you too, you little gremlin 😆🎄".
• By evening, he’d text you "Okay fine, I admit that was the best Christmas message I’ve ever gotten. Don’t tell anyone".
Felix
• Felix would be confused for a split second but would quickly catch on to the reference. He’d chuckle softly, finding your humor absolutely endearing.
• "Merry Christmas, darling. 💕 But… are you calling me filthy ? 😭 I thought I was your angel 😔".
• He'd send you a voice note in that deep voice of his wishing you all the love and happiness Christmas. He’d then gush to the members about how adorable you were.
Seungmin
• Seungmin would squint at his phone, trying to decide whether to laugh or pretend to be offended.
• "Merry Christmas, clown. 🎅 You’re lucky it’s the holidays otherwise, I’d roast you for that message".
• He’d subtly bring up your message during the day, saying things like, "So, how many other people did you call 'filthy animals' or am I just special?" He’d tease you relentlessly but would secretly love your sense of humor.
Jeongin
• Jeongin would blink at the message, trying to make sense of it for a second. If he got the reference, he’d laugh and shake his head at how bold you were.
• "Merry Christmas, you weird human. 🎁 But don’t forget that I’m the baby of the group. Filthy animal ? Really ?"
• By evening, he’d probably text you something like "Yours was the funniest Christmas message I received today. But next year, I’m coming up with something better, so you'd better watch out".
A/N : Hope you liked it. Do like, comment, reblog and follow if you did. You can find the rest of my masterlist here.

The hate surrounding Chris at the moments has got me thinking - if you go into a movie and you've already decided you don't like this actor you're going to find flaws in their performance even if they give a good one. Whereas fans of the actor can enjoy movies even if they're bad simply because they like the actor. And sometimes a good actor can't save a bad movie. That is not the actors fault. People here always say 'if you don't like x in fic don't read fics with x in it'. This can apply here too. If you don't like Chris, don't watch his movies. No one is forcing you to. That doesn't make it okay to hate him online and tell people not to like him. And come on, no one is going to like the same things. Some people like him, some don't. That's fine. But you can't say something like "He's terrible at comedy" because the person you say that to is not going to have the same sense of humour as you. It's an opinion, and people will disagree. And you're right, with everything going on in the world it seems weird to focus hate on a chill guy who's just doing his job. If you do that, it might be time to go outside for a little while. I hope all this hasn't annoyed you too much, and that you're focusing on more positive things - like Chris and Seb being adorable together. I know which is more fun to do.
(Thanks for giving me a reason to use this particular image again, nonnie! I missed it, lol)
You're absolutely spot on, if you ask me! Hate watching things just seems like such a waste of time and energy to me 😅 I honestly can't even find the time to watch things I know I will like for one reason or another, let alone things I'm (pretty) sure I'll hate.
But don't worry lovely, I was a little annoyed by some of the comments I've seen floating around lately, but fortunately I've gotten pretty good at shaking it off again too. It's just not worth my energy. There are wayyy more fun things to focus on instead, as you rightly said! Thanks so much for this positive message, and I'm sending you lots of hugs. Happy Holidays! 💕🎄

UA Christmas - Mistletoe edition ❄️
oc x canon 改善.晴翔 x 爆豪.勝己 I think just by reading the title you know where I'm headed c: ---merry christmas! 🎄 I guess this counts as my first fic? story? not sure what to call this, let's say scenario. either way I hope you enjoy it <3 (psst, there's a mini surprise at the end!)
The common room of Class 1-A’s dormitory glowed with warm light as the students gathered for their annual Christmas party. The scent of hot cocoa and fresh-baked cookies filled the air, and laughter echoed as everyone exchanged gifts. Snow fell gently outside the windows, frosting the world in a peaceful white.
Kaizen stood near the fireplace, his navy sweater adorned with small golden stars glinting softly in the light. He sipped from a steaming cup of cocoa, his gaze flicking between the sparkling tree and the chaotic antics of Mina and Kaminari as they argued over holiday trivia.
This is... nice, he thought, a small, content smile playing on his lips. Back home, it was always just him and his Mom. Those were good times—quiet, simple, but filled with love. They’d cook something special together, watch old holiday movies, and she’d always insist on putting up way too many decorations.
He chuckled softly to himself, recalling how his mother would hum carols while decorating their tiny tree, her cheer infectious despite the simplicity of their celebrations. It was enough back then. It was perfect.
But tonight felt different.
Being here, surrounded by people who’ve faced the same struggles, the same fears—it felt warm in a way he didn’t expect. It’s messy and loud and completely chaotic, but that’s what makes it so special. Everyone fought so hard, and now everyone gets to laugh, to breathe, to just exist together.
His gaze lingered on his classmates. Mina’s boisterous laugh as she teased Kaminari, Midoriya fumbling with a ribbon he couldn’t untangle, and Todoroki’s quiet amusement at it all. It felt like a special time to be alive.
Until his thoughts were interrupted by a sharp, familiar voice.
“No way I'm wearing that! Get that thing away from me!” Bakugo’s voice cut through the noise, sharp and exasperated. Kaizen turned just in time to see Mina fling a Santa hat toward Bakugo, who dodged it like it was a live grenade.
Kaizen chuckled softly, a small smile tugging at his lips. “I’m surprised you’re here!”
Bakugo shot him a sharp glare, though it lacked his usual bite. “Tch. Not like I could sleep with how noisy these idiots are.”
How the roles have switched.
Kaizen tilted his head, his expression softening. “Well, I’m glad you came. The room feels brighter with you in it.” His voice was quiet but sincere.
Bakugo faltered, a faint flicker of something unreadable crossing his face before he snorted, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “You’re so damn weird, Haruto.”
Their exchange was interrupted by Mina’s gleeful shriek. “Oh my gosh, look!”
Kaizen followed her gaze upward and froze. Dangling just above him and Bakugo was a sprig of mistletoe, tied with a glittering red ribbon.
“Mistletoooooooe!” Mina sang, her grin mischievous as she clapped her hands.
The room erupted with whistles and laughter, all eyes now fixed on the pair.
Bakugo’s face turned scarlet. “What kind of stupid prank is this?!” he barked, glaring at the offending plant as though it had personally insulted him.
“Don’t look at me!” Kaminari said, throwing up his hands in mock innocence. “But rules are rules, man. You know what’s gotta happen.”
Kaizen, his cheeks dusted with a faint pink, tried to diffuse the situation. “It’s just a silly tradition,” he murmured, offering Bakugo an amused smile. “We don’t have to—”
“Oh no, no, no,” Hagakure chimed in, pushing them closer. “We’re all watching now. You can’t back out!”
“Like hell I—” Bakugo started, but the intensity of the stares around him, combined with Kaizen’s calm, almost amused expression, made him hesitate. His crimson eyes flickered to Kaizen, who simply tilted his head with a soft smile.
“It doesn’t have to be a big deal,” Kaizen said softly, his tone steady but playful.
“Fine!” Bakugo growled through gritted teeth. Before anyone could react, he leaned in, planting a quick, almost aggressive kiss on Kaizen’s cheek before stepping back.
“There!” he barked at the room. “Happy now, you damn extras?” His ears burned red as he stomped toward the snack table. “And if anyone mentions this again, they’re dead!”
The room burst into cheers and applause, Mina and Kaminari collapsing into a fit of giggles. “Oh man, that was even better than I imagined!” Kaminari wheezed, wiping a tear from his eye. Mina nudged him with a grin, her laughter tapering into a soft chuckle.
“Alright, alright, we’ve had our fun,” she said, her voice still carrying a playful lilt. “Before Bakugo actually blows us up, let’s move on.”
Yaoyorozu stepped forward, her smile serene as she gestured toward the table stacked with cards and board games. “Shall we begin the games? Everything’s ready, and we still have plenty of time before the night ends.”
Kaizen, meanwhile, touched his cheek where Bakugo’s lips had brushed, a soft laugh escaping him. “Can't believe he went for it,
How cute."
Later that evening, as the party wound down, Kaizen found Bakugo leaning against a shadowed corner, arms crossed and scowl firmly in place.
“You survived,” Kaizen said lightly as he approached.
“Barely,” Bakugo muttered, refusing to meet his gaze.
Kaizen smiled, his voice lowering. “Thank you for coming, Bakugo. You could’ve skipped, but you didn’t. I think that says a lot about you.”
“Don’t read into it,” Bakugo grumbled, but his tone lacked its usual venom.
Kaizen leaned back slightly, spectating his classmates from a new angle. “It’s moments like this that remind me why we fight so hard every day. This—being with everyone—it’s what we’re protecting. I’m glad you were part of it tonight.”
Bakugo stared at him for a long moment, then sighed, the tension in his shoulders easing just slightly.
Kaizen stepped forward, a soft smile on his lips. “Merry Christmas, Bakugo.”
For a moment, Bakugo didn’t reply. Then, in a voice so quiet it was almost lost in the hum of the party, he muttered, “Merry Christmas.”
Nearby, hidden behind the couch, Kaminari and Mina whispered gleefully.
“Told you the mistletoe idea would work,” Mina whispered triumphantly, elbowing Kaminari. "Bakugo's reaction was priceless, just as I expected."
“You’re a genius! Is that why you planted Kaizen there?!” Kaminari replied, stifling his laughter.
"Had it been anyone else, I doubt Bakugo would have wanted to stand next to them." Mina shrugged.
“Do you think they’ll ever figure it out?”
Mina grinned. “Not a chance. And even if they do, it was totally worth it. Now, help me figure out how to get Iida under the second mistletoe...”
The two exchanged a quiet high-five before disappearing back into the party, their plan a resounding success.

Hello! Here's some bonus content for Once Upon a December. This was originally going to be part of the last chapter but I was hitting a wall. Please enjoy the belated Christmas treat! ☺️🎄
Three years later
“What about this one?”
Matt turns towards the tree Sylvie was pointing to. It was around six feet tall. He tilts his head to the side, examining it.
“It could work,” he tells his wife.
“Do you think we can get it into the living room?” Sylvie asks.
He laughs. Last year, they agreed on a much larger tree except that when they got back to their house, they found that they couldn’t get it past the foyer. They ended up having to saw off some of the branches and a bit of the base.
“I think so. If not, we’ll bust out the circular saw again,” he mentions jokingly.
She rolls her eyes at him before shaking her head.
Buying a tree had been one of their many Christmas traditions since two years ago. Decorating it was always fun, Matt had to admit. Last year, Violet, Griffin and Ben helped out, turning their tree into a very interesting one to say the least.
It had character was what Sylvie said after the kids were done.
They do end up buying the handsome Douglas fir tree. Matt thanks the guy as he helps load it onto the truck, cranking up the heat as they got int the cab of the truck.
When they get home, they start to unearth the bins of Christmas decorations. Sylvie grins as she finds the first set of ornaments she bought Matt at the Christmas market, showing them to him.
“Maybe we can go back next week and see if they have more of these. They’ll look great on the tree,” she tells him, holding up a wooden snowflake.
He grins at her. Over the years, Sylvie’s love for Christmas never faded and she had somehow managed to influence Matt. They took turns planning wonderful Christmas activities for each other - two years ago, on their first anniversary, Matt surprised her with a weekend ski trip to a resort in Wisconsin. Sylvie got him little presents corresponding to the twelve days of Christmas in return. There were weird presents like a can of pears but Matt loved them all the same. He loved the idea so much that when he proposed last year, he took a page from her book, this time giving her gifts based on the song 'Santa Baby'. He had to admit, he looked forward to Christmas because of her and her unending enthusiasm.
Even as she jams a Santa hat on top of his head to match the pair of reindeer ears she just put on, gazing at him innocently.
“You want some hot chocolate?” He asks.
She beams at him and his heart just soars.
It’s that God damn smile that gets him every single time.
“Of course I do,” she states, “your hot chocolate is the best in Chicago.”
She says it as if it’s a widely known fact but he’s happy nonetheless at her sweeping statement. It’s a big compliment coming from Sylvie, who loved anything that had chocolate in it.
When he gets back from the kitchen, Sylvie’s made much work of organizing the bins, arranging them based on the contents - Christmas lights, Christmas balls, other ornaments. There’s even a bin for Christmas stockings that Sylvie’s family had gotten them last year, one for the each of them.
He hands her a mug, which was also Christmas themed, of course.
“Thanks,” she says before taking a sip and sighing.
He grins, taking a sip from his own mug.
“Anything you need help with?” Matt inquires, looking around the room.
“Can you hang the Christmas stockings please?”
There’s a twinkle in her eye, like she’s in on some secret he isn’t but he doesn’t question it nor does he question the fact that the stockings were usually hung last - right before they lit the fire and cuddled up on the couch watching one of Sylvie’s many favorite holiday movies. He grabs the first stocking, hanging it on the hook over the fireplace before grabbing the other one and doing the same. He’s about to close the bin but something red catches his eye.
He stares at it for what feels like ages because somehow his brain could not comprehend what he was seeing.
It’s a tiny sock, like those for babies.
But they didn’t have a baby yet. They had been trying for a couple of months.
Did this mean what he thought it did? He told her when she agreed to marry him that he was making all his dreams come true. This one was like adding an annex to that dream, to the longstanding one he’s had since he could remember.
“You okay, hon?” comes Sylvie’s sweet yet tentative voice, her hand on his shoulder.
He turns to face her, opening his mouth, waiting for words to form.
“I, uh, we -”
She patiently waits for him to get there, eyes bright, gnawing on her bottom lip.
“We’re having a baby?” He finally manages to ask.
She nods slowly before confirming, “we’re having a baby.”
He launches himself at her, pulling her in for a fierce hug, spinning her around. Her laughter is in his ear, musical almost.
“We’re having a baby,” he repeats in wonder.
“Merry Christmas, Matt.” she whispers, cupping his cheek tenderly.
He smiles back, “Merry Christmas, Sylvie.”
He sets her down, the two of them swaying, slow dancing in their living room while snow fell out side.
Matt holds Sylvie closer, still reeling from the news.
He glances outside, unable to keep himself from reminiscing about this cheerful paramedic who dropped by his firehouse. He smiles at how far they’ve come.
To think, it all started one random day in December which turned out to be one to remember forever.

The holiday season in previous years for the Harrington's meant trips to Australia or Florida, anywhere else where there isn't midwestern cold air blowing around them. Steve would begrudginly string along, forgotten in a hotel room or given spending money and told to have fun in the resort.
It was 1990 now though, and at 23, he was spending this Christmas at his own place with his own traditions now. One of which was choosing a Christmas movie or show to watch as a group. Though his and Robin's place was considerably small they always made it work. This year however Home Alone had just come out and the plan had been to get tickets on a night everyone could make it.
Only scheduling was becoming hell, everyone had plans or work. The Wheelers were planning a family trip with the Byers, Eddie had gotten a new job with more hours so his uncle could have some more rest time, Robin and Vickie as well as Lucas and Max were planning family centered stuff, which left the always trustee Dustin to promise Steve he would go with him.
It was all he would talk about to her, how everyone else had basically ditched him and here he was again relying on Dustin to step in. She heard him intently as they shelved vhs tapes onto the tinsel topped displays, "how do you think I feel? This is my first Christmas away from home. Although I do enjoy being able to hear Wham singing and not my folks yelling over it." She quipped as he sighed, his eyes rolling, "at least your parents hung around for the holidays, I think mine are in Florida right now." She shrugged, "oh Steve lighten up tis the season and you have little Dustin to cheer you up." She further taunted him by throwing him one of the candy canes from their small tree they had on the check out counter.
She'd moved to Hawkins earlier in the year with the only goal of surviving on her own away from her previous situation. Within a month she was hired at the Family Video and met both Steve and Dustin in the middle of a heated debate about batteries and star wars. It was Dustin who vouched for her to join their friend group especially after seeing her homemade twilight zone pin and weird al cassette in her car. However he only ever regretted it when he got into trouble, because now he wouldn't hear the end of it from her and Steve.
Considering Dustin, he had come in before the store closed, ever thankful he ran into her first and not Steve. His face worried and guilt ridden, "what'd you do this time dusty? Am I going to have to talk to your mom again?" She joked as he mocked back, "that was so not cool, but no. It's about the movie night with Steve...I messed up." She was curious now but before she could ask what he meant, Steve had come up from the back of the store, "Henderson you better be ready to get all the snacks dude, we are going in heavy this year since-" catching a glimpse of Dustin's sour face he stopped his ramble, "do we need to talk to Higgins and your mom again?" Rolling his eyes he shook his head, "again totally uncalled for and embarrassing. You guys didn't need to be there" She quipped back "Then why are we on your emergency contact list?" He groaned, "whatever anyways no, that's not why i'm here. I'm sorry dude I royally screwed up my schedule -" "No. No. No! Not you too!" Steve cried out in frustration, "I literally had to beg Keith to give me Saturday night off." Dustin felt like shit about this, "I'll make it up to you I promise. It's just Suzie is coming down from Utah with the whole family and my mom has this whole dinner planned. I'll bring her by so you can meet her!"
She really felt bad for Steve now. He was genuinely hurt by now, it was written over his face. In the back of her mind she knew better but before she could regret it or overthink it, the words flew out of her mouth, "I'm free Saturday night if you still wanna go see that movie? I still haven't been to the theatre here so it would be cool to see the rest of Hawkins?" Steve looked at her about to decide whether to shoot down her kindness or ask if she's serious when Dustin speaks, "problem solved! Thanks so much! You guys'll have all the fun in the world. I got run." He started for the door with a 'merry holidays!' as he ran out and back into his mom's car.
Steve took his hands into his face with a loud sigh, "I was being serious Steve you literally said you did this every year, don't let the tradition fade out because those gremlins can't make it." He looked up at her, "well I guess it couldn't hurt." She smiled at him nudging his side with her shoulder, "see theres the holiday spirit. I'm going to start getting the store ready to close now though." He watched as she walked off to start turning off the window lights while thinking about how happy she seemed at his approval. He didn't want to read too much into but could it be that she might like him?
-
What was she thinking? Sure he was cute but from what everybody had mentioned so far, he was some sort of big shot around the area. He did say yes though, but it was probably a pity yes, still she could always say it was some christmas kindness is all. That's what she told herself for the rest of the week, because deep down she wasn't sure what to make of him entirely.
He spent the rest of the week pestering himself with the notation, the very idea that maybe he had missed something entirely or he was so full of himself that he was misinterpreting the whole thing. Robin was tired of hearing the same ramblings at work and as he dropped her off at home, "don't be a dingus, dingus. She literally said she wanted to go with you, she even brought up having zero plans." He shrugged as he pulled up to Robin's house, "I mean what if she just feels bad for me?" "Oh I think we all feel bad for you." She said opening the car door, he rolled his eyes, "ha ha laugh it up." Slamming the car door behind her she looked back through the car window, "it's gonna be fine Steve."
-
Saturday came by way too quickly for both of them. After multiple outfit changes and hair stylings they both found themselves waiting for the other. Well Steve found himself waiting in front of her apartment door with flowers in one hand and the other in his pocket where he was fidgeting with his car keys.
When the door opened and he saw her in a black mini skirt with sheer tights and a red knit sweater. She had clearly done something right based on the look he was giving her, "hey Steve those for me?" She asked pointing to the bouquet in his hand. He suddenly came to again, "yeah. Yes! I mean yeah, got these for you, I umm...I didn't want to come empty handed?" He was messing this up already, but in her head it was cute how nervous he seemed, She took them gently from his grasp, "well that was very kind of you. Now I feel bad I didn't get you a gift." She stepped back waving for him to enter. He shook his head, "no no, you tagging along to my misery parade is gift enough." This made her giggle, "c'mon it won't be that bad. Plus everyone is saying this movie is really good." He groaned out in frustration "yeah which was why it was so hard to get some damn tickets." She had placed the flowers on a coffee table behind her, "well lets get going then. Don't wanna miss those trailers." Before they could step out he stopped her, "think you need a coat first." Shit, there went the cool look she was going for, "oh yeah. One sec."
For two adults, they both seemed to come off like thirteen year olds, while they did enjoy the movie, they were sneaking glances at each other much than they were paying attention to kevin mcallister's boobytraps. Still they found themselves laughing at the mayhem the kid was making. She hadn't heard Steve ever really laugh like how he was laughing now and it made her smile, no wonder all the girls of Hawkins were into him. Which just made her that much more nervous. He had felt just as nervous since their hands had accidentally touched while trying to get popcorn at the same time.
The movie was great, as expected and they left the theatre in happier mood even arguing about which trap they could make while they walked around the town. It had happened gradually that their arms were linked together while he showed her around adding small stories here and there. Despite the cold and the dark of the night, it was still fairly early but Hawkins was small enough that all the nice scenery could be seen in a half hour or so. They headed back to his car when he suggested the idea of food, "we could get some burgers or a pizza." She perked up at the idea of spending more time with him, "I just got this new christmas record and a new tin of hot cocoa mix?" He smiled at the idea, "take out?" She nodded.
They got the food and headed to her place. The conservation continuing on about both the movie and the stories he'd told her. It'd been a while since he'd felt this comfortable with someone. Maybe it was the hot chocolate or her very decorated home, but he felt good around her. She felt the same way though, he hadn't made her feel the need to keep her guard up. Into their second mug of cocoa she quipped, "you know, you sure do know how to show a girl a good time." He let out a breathy laugh, "I sure hope so. I was worried I was going to bore you to death. By the way you looked great tonight." Her eyes widened in a playful manner, "is that so? Well so did you, that sweater is pretty cute." He smiled at her, his eyes linger onto hers.
The moment grew while the christmas music played in the background, her hand reaching for his as they sat on her couch. His hand also inched closer towards hers, in a soft voice she spoke up "so...christmas tradition saved?" Matching her tone Steve replied, "oh totally, in fact made even better." There it was again, the laugh he was growing to love more and more. They looked at each other a bit more, his thumb rubbing circles over her top of her hand, in the same hushed tone he mustered up the courage to ask, "am I reading this moment right?" She simply nodded, he leaned in closer towards her "got any mistletoe in here?" With a small shake of the head she spoke, "oh I don't think we need that now." Closing the gap their lips met into a tender kiss they didn't pull away from for a while.

Penn Zerothon Day 1
North Pole Down🎄
My Ramblings: Hey, this all looks familiar! Anyways, I like sword gag. Obviously guys it was in a couch, open your minds. It's also interesting to see Sashi not having wings like in the Pilot, I guess now we can infer what happened because we know she has them the next time they're in the Knight World.
I like to smash bits of the Pilot in this episode in my head, with the Boone being exception of course... and also the other stuff going in Zap One.
Ok, the zapping. They still do come out of a static background, but the Pilot's just looks so different.
Get the banging intro we all love and the iconic title cards!
Zooming on the family picture doesn't hurt at all. Nope, not all. It's interesting to show no snow on Christmas Eve, but that can happen in a lot of places, I really like that decision. Sashi beating the fake reindeer making look like snow? Gold.
But I've got to say, starting with a holiday episode is... unusual. I personally wouldn't have, but I'm not saying it had to be Zap One. It's just that not everyone likes holiday or Christmas episodes. I'm also upset we never got a Halloween episode.
I wonder why we didn't see the MUHU used in the Pilot, perhaps it wasn't a thing? I doubt it. I enjoy Brock and Vonnie every time they're on screen, funny and such great parents, even from afar! Like that they left a record video. Poor Penn, just wants see his parents so bad on Christmas, they're first Christmas apart. Also for a quick second we see that the MUHU charging deck thingy is broken. I wonder why? Genuinely, why? Was it The Chinchilla?
Our first introduction to Aunt Rise and Uncle Chuck (and of course The Chinchilla). I don't mind them, not my favorites. But don't mind. They're quirky.
I love the Trio so much! Boone and Sashi trying to cheer up Penn is so sweet.
First time we see Old Man Middleburg.
Not even having to exchange words to show how much Rippen hates Penn and Larry's over the topness.
Phyllis is queen. She's slaying in that candy cane costume. And she's already being supportive with Penn. You need a prom date? Phyllis has got you. MUHU broken beyond repair? She tried.
I would have a mental breakdown if I tried avoiding Christmas like the plague only to be zapped into Santa of all people! Like what are the odds? It's like the universe knows or something.
I just realized we never got a "check the specs" in the Pilot! Dang. Also, you can hear bells when her specs are displaying the mission.
Penn helping Boone calm down is sweet. Also, the "Okay, I'm gonna pet you now, but not in a weird way." Line will never not be funny, so many quotable lines in this show. I'm like a parrot.
Also, was the head in a box a reference to the movie Seven? If so, it's a very interesting pick for a reference for a kids' show.
Did they get Adam Levine for his screaming? I think that's a possibility.
Mr. Snowman...
I do like the rogue gingerbread men, but I wonder if Rippen being Krampus was at least considered. It always bugged me when I first watched this. Goat Rippen would have been too much for anyone to handle, I suppose.
The candy and Christmas weaponry is fun and creative. Larry cannibalizing himself is very Larry. I, too, would have a nibble on at least one of my fingers.
I like that Mr. Snowman just assumed the MUHU was broken. He doesn't know a damn thing about it and yet already being manipulative. I like that Penn is allowed to be a bit selfish. It makes sense, most of the time, it's because of his parents. He desperately wants them back or at least able to see and talk to them. Love me some good character flaws!
Surprise! The snowman with an ominous voice was bad! Although, it is surprising that Rippen decided to team up with anyone. I guess he probably sees Mr. Snowman as easy to take out, it's not that hard as we see later on. (Snow) Man literally took his whole heart out and almost died for a bit.
The face Penn makes when he says the whole ruining Christmas for eternity is gonna bother him for awhile is great. So many great faces on this show.
The first song of the show! Also forgot the Pilot didn't have a song... good. I don't wanna hear that Boone sing. He's not an angel like ours. I used don't not like his singing, but it grew on me. Pretty good song. Everyone is good at singing. I like that the breakout fails, like you really thought a candy cane would work as a key? Jokes land so much better than the Pilot (sorry I keep bringing that up).
So there's just one gingerbread woman? Like a smurfette? Also, Rippen, my goodness! One (gingerbread) woman and already be acting up. It's just a tiny bit but still funny, I like the idea that he can't keep it in his pants sometimes. He's gotta come off as suave to anyone watching.
Also weird that gingerbread people just eat steak and mashed potatoes... not very Christmas-like, guys, and woman.
"You've looked cooler." Sashi delivers that in such a way that it can be such a low blow to whoever she's saying it to (Penn).
Would've loved to see a drama class. That would've been a Boone episode, a Boone-isode!
Creative way to escape, using Santa lore. I wonder what it felt like to be tube-shaped for a few seconds. I'm sure that would feel good on my back until I cry from pain.
First instance of Arnold Schwarzenegger voice Boone.
"Man, that guy can talk." Sashi, that man is your principal. Your lucky he ain't evil.
Yep, he's a snowman... what was he gonna do? Snowball them? Man them- nevermind.
AAHHH! Rippen jumpscare! Oh no- is his bowtie made of anything? Like licorice or something? Or is it just a bowtie?
I'll never find it funny that in some Santa media set in modern times, they're still making older toys like made out of wood and stuff. Anyways, love the fight between Penn and Rippen using the toys as weapons. Very fun and creative.
I love it when Rippen tries to use Penn's interest against him, the MUHU in this case. But no, Penn is better than that.
Did Rippen feel anything when he broke or does it not hurt? Either way, falling down at that velocity must have been terrifying. First instance of Larry eating Rippen... yep, not the first!
Also, the first use of the Wilhelm Scream! They love that scream.
He made a hard choice, but thankfully, it paid off in two ways. Completing the mission and getting your MUHU fixed by Santa because of it. What was that one quote? "A true act of goodwill always sparks another." (Whoever gets that, have a cookie)
Also like that it implies Santa doesn't like gingerbread, perhaps because gingerbread people work for him?
An all around good Christmas episode, usually my least favorite kind.
~The Characters~
Penn Zero: This Penn and Pilot Penn while similar, feel very different in delivery.
Like I said already, I like Penn feeding into his self-interest. We always understand why he does and acts like he does, he's a good person with flaws. Flaws that are so human.
Boone Wiseman: Oh Boone, I'm sorry I ever doubted you. I can't believe we almost didn't have this you! So much more funnier and nicer. Our lovable buffoon. Even going out to make skateboard sleds for his friends! And a failed roller-skate skis that he actually never made, but it's the thought that counts.
He's funny but still takes some seriousness with his job. Especially at the end.
Sashi Kobayashi: Violent as ever! But cares deeply about Penn's troubles. I also enjoyed when she just conked Larry and that elf in the head.
Rippen: Not a whole lot to say for him in this episode. He was funny and growly as usual. It's still interesting that he teamed up with someone as we'll see in Number One Number Two. Yes, I know, I'm Still Super. But that's different as we'll also see
Larry: He really doesn't have much to do besides eating himself. Which, good for him, he makes a good point, they'll never be that delicious again.
Dimension(s): I like the look of the mountaintop north pole base, which is a very cool take on Santa's workshop. It's more like a military base than anything.
Forms: Reindeer Boone is the best, sorry. He's adorable, I like his physicality. Everyone else did good, but they'll never be Reindeer Boone.

YO!!! I was tagged by @officious-sea-lawyer to do this and so here I deliver:
❄️ Favorite Christmas movies
Well I actually have a NEW favorite christmas movie this year and it’s the 1970 Scrooge starring Albert Finney. True to my nature I really love a pathetic old man and he might be the most sopping wet and weird little scrooge I’ve ever seen but also in the flashbacks… holy shit he’s handsome (reminds me of francis a little. Just saying) … anyway go watch Scrooge all the songs were written by the same lady who did charlie and the chocolate factory. AS FOR OTHER FILMS GOD THERE’S PLENTY but to rattle off a few: Muppet Christmas Carol (THE FULL VERSION), Polar Express, any of the Rankin Bass christmas films, The Holiday, White Christmas, classic Grinch AND LA Grinch, 1939 christmas carol also. And of course, It’s A Wonderful Life.
☃️ Christmas traditions?
On christmas eve we all open a small present and then I make hot chocolate and watch the polar express when everyone’s gone to bed.
🎄 Favorite Christmas aesthetic? (Traditional, black and white, etc.)
Victorian!!!! Jesus christ but I love victorian christmas aesthetics (especially this year. Good GOD. I’m deeply into victorian christmas aesthetics this year)
🎁 Christmas food/drinks you love
HOT CHOCOLATE!!! But also I always buy a tin of danish butter cookies. I love those little bastards with the dried black currants in them especially. So fucking good. Also I won’t say no to a good gingerbread (or more importantly my fave cookie flavor of all time: ginger molases)
❄️ Best Christmas song
Not gonna lie. I fucking love Hark the Herald Angels Sing. It’s very nostalgic for me singing it with not just my youth choir but the WHOLE congregation at the end of Christmas Eve service and ringing bells… yeah man. Yeah. For more modern stuff I do fucking love any of Bing Crosby’s songs (but ESPECIALLY white christmas), and Andy William’s It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.
🎄 One thing you got for someone (I won't tell :3)
I actually made hats for my whole family!!! Though actually I didn’t make a hat for my dad bc he doesn’t wear hats bc he’s a strange little man but I made him a little headband earmuff thing instead that I think he’ll really like 🥰
☃️ One thing you really, really want for Christmas
A fucking camera 🥲 I know I won’t get one tho. But I can DREAM can’t I? Other than that like the big thing for me is some new over ear sony headphones that don’t fucking hurt my ears and give me headaches yes. Other than that my 4 day trip to montreal was a great gift indeed I had a fucking blast (will provide details if wanted)
Now who to tag… hmm…
@prismatica-the-strange @your-mighty-words-astound-me @kittensmctavish @roaming-thru-roses @seldonhari @jokerownsmysoul @smileofacaffeinatedsaint and ANYONE ELSE TO WHOM THIS LOOKS LIKE FUN!!! Happy fuckin holidays bitches!

Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed In at the House of Mouse ✨❄️🎄
Another well liked Christmas Special I personally enjoyed. Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed In at the House of Mouse is a charming special for the short-lived but interesting Disney series about Mickey and the gang opening a club house for all of the beloved Disney characters from timeless movie classics ranging from Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and so on.
The movie starts on Christmas Eve where with the gang wrapping up tonight’s entertainment and wished everyone a safe travel home and a Merry Christmas. Unfortunately, it turns out there had been a snowstorm early, snowing everyone inside the clubhouse, much to the dismay and concern of the friends and their guests. But Mickey came up with a swell idea of suggesting everyone can spend their Christmas Eve at the House of Mouse for the time being.
While everyone is happy with the plan, Donald, on the other hand, wasn’t into the holiday spirit for some unexplained reason. In fact, he is such a humbug, he’d even make Ebenezer Scrooge and Grinch much more jolly from beginning to end out together.
After the club house is most especially decorated for the occasion and everyone breaks out all the hot chocolate and cookies, Mickey and the gang immediately provide some entertainment by showing some home movies and Christmas shorts, most especially some old gems all the while trying to patch up Donald’s tattered Christmas Spirit.
Some of the Christmas special shorts also classic gems including “Pluto and the Christmas Tree”, starring Chip and Dale. The special has some funny and wholesome segments such as Mickey going around town, asking all of the movie characters about what they’d wish to have for Christmas such as Kuzko from The Emperor’s New Groove tearfully begging not to be a llama anymore and Ursula the Sea Witch wanting Mickey’s voice for some weird reason. The segment ends with the Beast’s only wish is for everyone to have a happy Christmas and to find their inner beauty. Awww! How sweet. 🥹🥰
Another segment has Mickey and the gang explaining to Donald what they all have to be thankful for this Christmas. While some characters like the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonder (concerning his obsessions with hats, next to tea) comes off a bit zany, some can be more practical and wholesome such as Cinderella being thankful to have her tiny animal friends from birds to mice being talented and creative to make her beautiful dresses and Eeyore being thankful for joy and the happiness in his heart. It’s also sweet that Minnie’s thankful to have Mickey as the love of her life. 💝
Despite all of those and after watching the House of Mouse’s take on The Nutcracker with Mickey as the titular character, Minnie as Maria and Donald (of all people) as the Mouse King and narrated by the amazing John Cleese, Donald is still a humbug that he made even Grumpy from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves actually happy while leaving the other six dwarves frowning with disapproval at the duck’s attitude.
Disheartened, Mickey goes outside on the roof of the club house where he is consulted by Jiminy Cricket from Pinocchio, who suggested about wishing on a star. When Mickey makes his wish for everyone, even Donald, to feel the spirit of Christmas, the star magically floats down into his hands, much to the mouse’s awe.
Realising what he needed to do, Mickey goes back inside and asks Donald if he would like to hang the star on the Christmas tree. Touched by the request, Donald happily places the star on the tree and happily wishes everyone in the club house a Merry Christmas, his Christmas spirit lifted, as bright as the very star. The magic of the star also brightened all of the decorations throughout the place, making it just as festive. It also brightened the spirits of even Yen Sid, the Magic Mirror and even Jafar.
With Donald finally getting into the spirit of Christmas, the gang had decided to show Mickey’s Christmas Carol, starring Scrooge McDuck in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. Ahh, another timeless classic. ☺️
After the short film had ended, everyone, hosts and guests alike, gathered up on stage to sing a heartfelt song titled “The Best Christmas of All”, which happens to be one of my favourite Christmas songs from a Disney movie. It was so sweet and heartwarming to see every single characters from beloved Disney films and shorts gathered together in one place to sing about how the spirit of Christmas is all about friendship, true love, family and all the precious memories they all share throughout the season. It’s also hilarious where some of the villains even Jafar, Captain Hook from Peter Pan and even Hades from Hercules were not above joining in. 🤭
Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed In at the House of Mouse is an amazing Christmas Special that has touched my heart to this day and I do hope for many others who had grew up with Disney as I had over the years can relate and have a soft spot for this film.
As Mickey had told us, the watchers, at the end of the special, Merry Christmas to all of you. 😄

Sorry I’m so late to send!
Some of my “life shaping” songs are the ones by my favorite artists where they made me realize I wanted to jump into their discography. It may not the first song I heard by them, just the song that made me go “oh 😳 there’s a connection here!”
- Love Me Do by the Beatles
- Yer So Bad by Tom Petty
- Question by the Moody Blues. Many other songs by them as well.
- Hush by Deep Purple
- Left to my Own Devices by the Pet Shop Boys
- Bonus: Rockstar by Nickelback, not because I really like Nickelback but because I genuinely believe it’s the first song I can remember hearing in my life (well, obviously I heard other songs before that, but this is the first song that I associate with a vivid memory).
Here’s my question for you: do you have any other favorite media related to the Who? Movies, books, etc? I just recently saw the stage version of Tommy on Broadway and I LOVED it in terms of sound. It was all just so loud and thrashy (is that a word?) and I may have liked it better than the album. I guess I can kind of feel assured in saying that because if I recall correctly the Who often aimed to make their live performances sound better than the album versions.
-🎁🎄
No worries at all!
Love Me Do is great, I should have gotten that red heart shaped single a couple of years ago but it was too expensive at the time (I say as if I'm not probably going to buy an allegedly signed Live at Leeds copy for God knows how much 💀)
Tom Petty my beloved! I forgot Free Fallin' on my list, this song has been around for me since forever and reminds me of beach holidays
I've been meaning to get into the Moody Blues and Deep Purple, I only know like two songs by each (that I know of, I often hear songs and realize I did know them), so feel free to give me some recs!
I listened to so much of the Pet Shop Boys when I was like 13 for no reason lol they're still on some playlists
I don't get the hate for Nickelback tbh Rockstar is a good song and was also formative to me in a way I can't explain, but it was one of the first songs of which I really vibed with the lyrics on a more personal level. I have no idea what the first song I remember hearing was actually, my bet is on I'd Do Anything for Love by Meat Loaf because I remember my mom's single CD lying next to the radio and being blown away by the epic sound
I've only seen The Kids Are Alright and Tommy so far, but I must have seen clips of the stage version ages ago in my theater kid days but forgot about it until I bought the album in 2019 and thought wait I know this but different. Then I forgot about it again until last month I asked a friend to get me into the Who for real and he made me watch the movie which I loved and it's my new favorite weird movie
I also started reading Thanks a Lot Mr Kibblewhite recently and it's so interesting! Working my way through the books one by one (next up Who I Am), but for movies, Quadrophenia and Amazing Journey are definitely on my list. Now that I bought the Lisztomania soundtrack for €2 I'm also planning to watch that alone for Roger Daltrey. Apparently he was also the guy who killed I Want It All at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, which I watched a lot when I was 15, so it gets an honorable mention because while I was too much into Queen then to look him up, the mic cable swinging and the in my opinion best rendition of the show have been living in my head since
And definitely, when I watch live footage of the Who, it's better than the studio versions and I start loving songs I didn't pay much attention to on the albums! I love when bands do that because some bands are somewhat disappointing in concert, but they and Cheap Trick come to mind first when I think of great live bands

12th of december already...damn. been a bit busy the last few days and couldnt keep in touch that much🥲 my elves have been slacking a bit so i had to help, maybe ill show them some jake edits to keep them motivated💀
Do you prefer giving or receiving gifts more? What do you like most about it?
Do you think the boys would also do smth like secret santa? Who would give the most thoughtful gifts, pay attention to the little things and who wouldnt be able to keep their mouth shut and immediately tell someone who they got? (I think we all know its sam)
Maybe a bit weird, but whats your favorite smell? Could be a certain candle, roses, earth, the smell of rain or delicious food
What is your go-to comfort movie? One you watch, when you're feeling sad or happy, you just know it always hits
I'll try to keep a more regular schedule with these questions, cause i havent even been on tumblr in a few days.
Hope you have a great day
-Secret santa 🎅🎄
I’m getting to the point in a month where I don’t even have any idea what day it is anymore…
1. I definitely prefer giving gifts more, it’s kind of a love language of mine. Plus I’m pretty bad about getting the stuff I want for myself so when someone asks me what I want I’m like unmmm
2. First of all I’m a firm believer everyone should do secret Santa, Greta included. Danny would 100% be the one to get the most thoughtful gifts. (Danny just has a secret closet on the tour bus where he keeps all these gifts he gets for his brothers because every time he’s out he sees something that reminds him of something stupid they did and gets it. So he has to hide them all and around the holidays he just has a plethora of gifts to pick from… and when Sam eventually finds out he’s just upset about how much room his secret closet takes up on the bus)
3. My white girl is showing but pumpkin spice when it’s in season. That or ironically my favorite candle is from Mardels, it’s citrus rose or something
4. Probably Howls Moving Castle. It’s such a classic in the studio ghibli world
It’s all good! I accidentally let my phone die yesterday and didnt get to respond. Now I feel silly

03/07 MikeyDon - [🎄] our muses decorate a christmas tree together
| SEND AN EMOJI FOR A STARTER ! ↳ winter season & holiday based
Christmas was a holiday they had celebrated before course in their ways at least. Not like Halloween when Splinter would take them to the surface. But they still enjoyed the day, presents weren't not a thing for them but it wasn't really like how humans went about the day. But it was still one of Mikey's favorite holidays. Human friend helped with the whole experience. Since April was kind enough to get them a Christmas tree again. Fresh pine smell really helped to cover up the usual smell of the lair. It was just so full and green! Sure they see a lot of green down here but this was different it was a giant living tree! Mikey smiled wide admiring it. Years of looking at picture books with the green trees always wondering if they could do that as well.
Just have a tree Mikey sure was all about the gifts under it too but it was always the tree that really got his attention. The lights the ornaments, he was tempted to think a way to convince Raph on the whole string popcorn bit even. Maybe if he set him up for a mistletoe kiss with Casey he would feel inclined to agree to any request Mikey made? It was pretty obvious what was going on there after all. Mikey side eyeing said pair after getting the tree set up. Before snapping back to the tree. Hearing Donnie join him with the box of decorations had the orange banded turtle smile brighter than he was a second ago.
It was also the nice fact Donnie would put his own projects and such aside to join his brothers for the holiday festivities. Getting put on to tree duty with Mikey as the bound over to them eyeing the box contents a moment but his smile did finally fade a little. Sure they didn't have the same grand collection of ornaments in the books or tv movies. But they had a nice selection that was slowly growing smaller year by year. "Man did the big klutz break more last year?" Mikey frowns over slightly whining to his brother. He might be taking back the whole scheme to help Raph out now. He sighed a bit and took the box from Donnie's hold. They still had a good amount inside the box but still was a bummer for the orange banded turtle. Slightly annoyed over it.
His attention shifted pretty quick soon after. Getting over it because it only really set in what was in front of him. Donnie. Mikey smiling as he set the box done and grabbed the first ornament from it for Donnie to have. "Can't be letting you try and sneaking away it's family time Donnie boy" Mikey states as he pushes Don slightly by the shell towards the tree. "Well it's you and me time and since you ditched me last movie night it seemed fair." Mikey goes on to express ignoring any retort from his brother. Before lowering his eyes back to the box. He tried to get over it but it was kind of a downer if he were honest. Sure they were old, and most the hooks were replaced by like paper clips by now some paint or whatever was on them had chipped away letting the silver under so but it just gave them character if anything. That's when his eyes drifted towards Don's Bo staff.
It wasn't really weird or out there for any of them to be carrying their weapons on them at all times. Least to them it wasn't. They were extensions of them that way. Shell take away their mask colors and they would still in the least have their weapons. They used them for all kinds of things not just training or real fights after all. And sometimes someone else used them as it only took that two seconds of his eyes resting on the weapon as he reached slowly keeping a watchful eye on Don's back. He grabbed for it and smiled mischievously to himself. Watching as Don put one ornament on the tree waiting for them to turn slightly away as they seemed to be spacing them out. Made sense spread them out over the tree would make it not as easy to tell how little decoration they had. Not that it was going to matter as Mikey hooked the ornament on the end of the staff soft chuckle under his breath. As he pulled it back in towards himself. Smiling at the success as he set it back into the box doing his best to hold back a laugh when Donnie grab for it again and went to set it up on the tree. Nearly dancing on his feet where he was standing.
He got away with it and oh boy did he already feel that small little thrill and high of a joke going well. As he waited for Donnie to look away again he Mikey pulled off another ornament that same dose of emotions hitting him when he settle it into the box. Not wanting to make it too obvious. Donnie was smart after all if it were Raph he might be able to get away with handing the same one to him over and over again. But with Donnie? he should play it a bit more safe as he even picked up Leo's yinyang one up and handed it over to Don. Making sure to hold out their bo staff off to the side so to avoid it being seen.
"You go bro!" He said as cheerily as he could with out giving himself away. Seemed to help prevent any suspicion after all when was Mikey ever quite? only when he was up to something. "Man this years gonna be the best though right Don?" Mikey offered even making sure his brother saw him set a chipped up green orb on to a branch in front of him. "I mean it always a blast of course but now we getting large and larger." Mikey added in pausing a moment to think over his own wording in the moment "Our group I mean" He was quick to correct in case Don thought he meant it physically.
"I mean we got use, LH, April, Casey i guess, and even Vonnie! Oh did you invite her to join us?" Mikey asked reaching around his brother shoulder to snatch another ornament off it's branch. Feeling mentioning her would work as the best distraction. "I mean I was planing to anyway I'd love to talk her into a girls night for Christmas eve too! OH we should have a big slumber party!" he tosses out "I mean only me and April and Von for the girls night but Im sure Casey could hang out. pft like that guys got anything better going on. LH I bet could chat about science junk with you though." Mikey continued to yap away as if he was doing nothing else. Splinter did always tell him he was skillful and if he just focused more he likely be even better. Too bad Mikey was quick to lose it.
As he was letting his mouth run suddenly met with an annoyed expression from Donnie, Mikey face blank unsure why he was aimed with it. Not that he was getting it he often got annoyed glares his way after all. Till he noticed how obvious his trick was now not even keeping the bo of of sight as he had three ornaments hooked on to it he forgot to set the last two back into the box. Only one let to rest on the tree when by no Don would be aware he put far more on there. So he simply smiled. "Uh I was having so much fun i wanted it to last?" he lied obviously, Raph? Mikey never cared much to make mad it was easy. Just say a word he hates and bam done. Leo? it could be funny he got so serious so it just made it funnier. Don though? well sure he liked doing it the little brother cruse but he still knew that once getting to that point it was time to call it quits.
"Ya know was gonna use this deal for lavage with Raph but I think mending peace is better. What if i help set you and Von under the mistletoe?" Mikey offered to Donnie instead with what he felt perfect salesmen pitch and smile.

I think Home Alone is the funniest Christmas movie ever
Aside from the 'violence' at the hands of a child that the robbers endured, which is sorta overkill in adulthood, it's an overall good, funny, and feel-good holiday film and always a holiday tradition. I watched Home Alone the other day for the second time this week.
An especially funny moment is like the whole thing with the weird gangster movie kevin records to freak out anyone and everyone who comes over to the house, lol. "keep the change filthy animal." that poor young pizza boy was all shaken up, lmao.)
Every year without fail my bf and I go, "What does Kevin Mcallister's dad do for a living to afford a Paris vacation for 12 plus people, including his cheapskate bro and his wife and kids, and live in an architectural digest-esque home? where 100+ dollar pizza night happen?" Must be nice! It pretty much goes without saying that the house is GORGEOUS. He probably made bank, even if it's just a movie.
I love this time of year because I'm always watching my holiday movies, and even if Home Alone isn't my favorite, I really love a lot of it it's seasonally appropriate, and find myself quoting this and others throughout the season. It gets me all festive in the Christmas spirit!🎅
Elf, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, Mixed Nuts (a new addition to the faves! (I recommend it if you haven't seen it the prev. mentioned already), and a few others on my list, including holiday episodes of my fave shows, are my true forever favorites, an every-year tradition.
Anyway, thanks for the message🎄💌.
