🌟 New
We’ve updated the text for the blog setting that said it would “hide your blog from search results”. Unfortunately, we’ve never been able to guarantee hiding content from search crawlers, unless they play nice with the standard prevention measures of robots.txt and noindex. With this in mind, we’ve changed the text of that setting to be more accurate, insofar as we discourage them, but cannot prevent search indexing. If you want to completely isolate your blog from the outside internet and require only logged in folks to see your blog, then that’s the separate “Hide [blog] from people without an account” setting, which does prevent search engines from indexing your blog.
When creating a poll on the web, you can now have 12 poll options instead of 10. Wow.
For folks using the Android app, if you get a push notification that a blog you’re subscribed to has a new post, that push will take you to the post itself, instead of the blog view.
For those of you seeing the new desktop website layout, we’ve eased up the spacing between columns a bit to hopefully make things feel less cramped. Thanks to everyone who sent in feedback about this! We’re still triaging more feedback as the experiment continues.
🛠 Fixed
While experimenting with new dashboard tab configuration options, we accidentally broke dashboard tabs that had been enabled via Tumblr Labs, like the Blog Subs tab. We’ve rolled back that change to fix those tabs.
We’ve fixed more problems with how we choose what content goes into blogs’ RSS feeds. This time we’ve fixed a few issues with how answer post content is shown as RSS items.
We’ve also fixed some layout issues with the new desktop website navigation, especially glitches caused when resizing the browser window.
Fixed a visual glitch in the new activity redesign experiment on web that was making unread activity items difficult to read in some color palettes.
Fixed a bug in Safari that was preventing mature content from being blurred properly.
When using Tumblr on a mobile phone browser, the hamburger menu icon will now have an indicator when you have an unread ask or submission in your Inbox.
🚧 Ongoing
Nothing to report here today.
 Upcoming
We hear it’s crab day tomorrow on Tumblr. 🦀
We’re working on adding the ability to reply to posts as a sideblog! We’re just getting started, so it may be a little while before we run an experiment with it.
Experiencing an issue? File a Support Request and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
Want to share your feedback about something? Check out our Work in Progress blog and start a discussion with the community.

You're a good girl, well behaved.
Absolutely not the type to rail random guys in nightclubs.
Until you are.
Fandom: BNHA
Pairing: Aizawa x Reader, eventual polyamorous Erasermic x Reader
Rating: This chapter is Gen, no smut at all.
Trigger Warnings: None in this chapter.
AO3: Here | Want to support me? I have a Kofi
Chapter: 3/16 (all chapters)
“Good evening, Listeners! It’s 7PM on this fine Wednesday night and I hope you all are doing a-o-kay!”
Hizashi leaned back from his mic and pressed the cheer button on his soundboard.
“Tonight it is my absolute pleasure to announce a brand new segment to our show! I have a guest in my studio tonight. Please raise your hands, paws, flippers and/or wings for (Name), my lovely colleague from UA!”
He waved to you and you leaned forwards towards your own microphone.
“Pleased to meet you everyone,” you said, Hizashi clapping boisterously in the background. “It’s a pleasure to be here.”
“Cute, so cute!”
His excitement was contagious and you couldn’t help but laugh.
“(Name) is a very special guest,” he said, pushing the ‘ooooo’ button on his soundboard. “She’s the guidance counsellor at UA. (Name), why don’t you tell the listeners a little about what you do?”
“Well, the welfare and wellbeing of our students is of course our top priority at UA,” you said, “and so my role is to ensure these needs are being met. If they’re feeling pressured or struggling to find agency opportunities or simply unsure of their futures…”
“Of course,” said Hizashi. “Now, Listeners, (Name) has kindly offered up her time for this new weekly segment, which I’m going to call ‘Support Mic’. If you, my wonderful listeners, or anyone you know have a problem and require a sympathetic ear, please send them anonymously through my website or texting service and (Name) and I will advise to the best of our ability. Sound good, (Name)?”
“Yes!”
“Alright then, we’re going to take a short break and after that we’ll go through your submissions,” said Hizashi, bringing up the next song on his playlist. “If you can’t join us, please enjoy your evening, PLUS ULTRA!”
“PLUS ULTRA!” you echoed and Hizashi laughed out loud.
“So CUTE,” he cried out, before muting your microphones and playing music. He pulled off his earphones and you did the same, reaching for a glass of water.
You were now two months into your job at UA and the time had flown by. You had transformed your office into a space that felt more like your own and familiarised yourself with the names and faces of just about every student at the school. The previous guidance counsellor had been a woman in her eighties, retiring as opposed to taking on a new role and as a consequence your resources and day to day activities needed updating to reflect the modern climate.
None of it would have been possible without the help of your colleagues. Even Shouta, who had said at most half a dozen words to you since leaving your house, had sent the rather more vulnerable students in your direction.
The agony aunt segment was your idea and Hizashi only too happy to include it in his regular radio show, with the caveat that you bought him a beer the next time you went to the izakaya.
Truthfully, you didn’t expect very many requests to come in, so it came as a complete shock when you refreshed the website and found thirty had already arrived in the first two minutes.
“P...Plus Ultra,” you murmured.
Support Mic was only a half hour segment, but you could easily have gone on for so much longer. Hizashi had done nothing but coo over you since you left the studio.
“Waaah, (Name), you were a natural!”
You had been so very nervous before the broadcast. You’d expected to stumble over your words or get no questions at all. In the end you answered so many questions and talked so much that it felt like you had swallowed a bucketful of gravel.
“Thank you,” you said, packing up your purse, “for having me, I mean. That was a lot of fun.”
“Did you want me to drive you home? It’s getting late.”
“No, it’s fine, I don’t live far.”
“Well, if you’re sure,” said Hizashi, “see you to-morr-ow, sweet listener!”
You waved goodbye and continued up the street, reaching into your purse for your train pass, only for your blood to run cold when you realised it wasn’t there.
Shit
You rummaged through packs of tissues, chewing gum, pepper spray and more to no avail.
“Where is it,” you mumbled, grabbing your miniature torch and shining it on the contents.
You thought back to the last time you had seen it, when you arrived at work that morning. You had dropped your purse down on your desk when you saw Hizashi arriving and hurried after him to verify your studio appointment. It must have fallen out then and you sighed, turning the other way to go back to UA.
As a kid you had always been afraid of the dark. You were the one who squealed at ghost stories during sleepovers and had to hide your face during scary movies.
You liked to think that you had gotten braver as you got older, but that was far from true. You still didn’t like taking late night trains or watching horror movies with your friends. You definitely didn’t enjoy walking the empty corridors of UA.
Pull yourself together, (Name)...
It’s just the school. No one’s here. No one can-
Somewhere in the distance, you heard a door slam.
“Ofuckofuckofuckofuck,” you stammered, picking up your pace and rushing off in the direction of your office. Your shoes clattered against the hard floor and you were sure you heard a second set in pursuit.
You threw yourself into your office and closed the door behind you, immediately rushing to crouch under your desk. Someone, or something, hovered outside. You could practically see the newspaper headlines: Guidance Counsellor Found Dead in Violent Attack .
Every cloud had a silver lining, you supposed. You could see your train pass on the cabinet.
Whoever was outside your office rattled the handle and then stepped inside and you clapped your hands over your mouth to stifle any sound.
What could you do? None of the teachers were around and your quirk wasn’t suitable for fighting. Suddenly, you wished you had agreed to Hizashi walking you home. You took a deep breath, willing yourself to do something. You weren’t a teacher or even a pro hero, but you couldn’t sit by and do nothing.
But what could you do?
The intruder’s footsteps grew closer and you reached for your purse, frantically digging through it for pepper spray. Even if you couldn’t fight off this assailant, you could disable them just enough to get away and raise the alarm.
You tightened your grip on the can and released the cap with your thumbnail.
It was now or never.
You bolted out from underneath the desk with a screech and sprayed the intruder with a faceful of pepper spray, causing them to cry out in pain. You covered your face and ran for the door, only to fall flat on your face, arms and legs bound. You struggled against the bindings, rolling over onto your back to get a good look at your attacker.
H..hUH?
You didn’t know what you had expected, but you definitely couldn’t have predicted the sight before you. It wasn’t an intruder...it was Shouta and he was desperately rubbing his eyes and cursing. The material binding you was his scarf.
“Sh...Shouta?”
He paused, lifting an arm from his face and squinting down at you. He took in the sight of you, frozen on the floor with your arms and legs bound in place and sighed, returning it to its regular state.
“I’m so sorry,” you said, getting back to your feet, “I thought-”
“What the hell did you think you were doing?” he snarled.
“I thought you were a villain!”
“That’s really not the problem here,” he said. “What are you even doing here?”
“I...I forgot my train pass,” you said, wringing your hands. “I’m sorry. I should have just bought a new one.”
Shouta continued to rub his eyes with a groan and you reached out for his arm.
“Come with me,” you said, “that’ll just make it worse.”
You weren’t a hero, but there was something you could do.
You guided him to the empty staff room and murmured yet more apologies as you turned on the lights. Shouta curled up on the couch, rubbing his eyes and cursing under his breath.
You stole glances as you ran a cloth under the tap, chewing your bottom lip and feeling more than a little bit guilty.
“Here,” you said, squeezing excess water from the cloth and walking back to the couch. “This should help.”
You knelt down beside him and dabbed the cloth over his eyes as gently as humanly possible, wincing at the sight of how red and puffy they had become. You’d never used pepper spray before and almost certainly used far too much.
Shouta groaned in discomfort the moment the cloth touched him, but remained perfectly still.
This was the first time you had been alone since the reset and you found yourself tongue-tied.
You had slept together twice now, yet you still found it difficult to read him. He was the human embodiment of still waters and you had no doubts that his innermost thoughts were as much of a tangled mess as your own. He was just better at hiding them.
The morning of the reset, you had given up on sleeping. You were unable to stop thinking about the man in your bed; the man you thought you would never see again but would have to see almost every day.
You hadn’t been able to sleep after that, instead putting in a load of laundry and getting an incredibly early start on breakfast. When Shouta rolled out of bed at 6am, you had washed and dried his discarded clothes and folded them on your bedside table, as well as putting together an enormous breakfast and fresh pot of coffee.
“So,” you had said as he rubbed his eyes. “The reset.”
“Yes,” he said, dragging on his shirt and giving it a confused sniff. “Tomorrow is day one.”
That was the last he said on the matter and the longest conversation you had had in months.
Until now, of course.
“Does it still hurt?”
You sat back on your heels and lowered the cloth onto your lap, watching as Shouta squeezed his eyes shut and then, very slowly, attempted to open them. He immediately seemed to regret it, for he flinched and began to squint.
“I’ll get more water, just a-”
You moved to stand up, only for him to take hold of your arm.
“Why would you try and confront a villain without help? You could have gotten yourself killed.”
“I wasn’t going to fight,” you said. “I was going to raise the alarm.”
“Oh, and then what? You’ve exposed yourself to the villain without knowing what their quirk is. They could have set you on fire or gassed you or something.”
“I…”
You weren’t a student, he wasn’t your teacher, yet somehow it felt like being in detention.
“I don’t know,” you said.
“You need to be more rational in these things,” said Shouta, closing his eyes again. “Running head on into danger gets people killed.”
You were quite glad he’d closed his eyes. You couldn’t stifle the smile breaking out across your face.
He wasn’t angry at you at all. Stern, yes, though only out of concern for your safety.
“Good job I had a big, strong Eraserhead around to protect me,” you said, booping his nose with the cloth before getting to your feet. You expected him to protest, but he stayed silent, barely moving even as you ran the cloth under the cold tap.
“You’re not a pro hero,” he said.
“No, I’m not.”
“Then why are you here...in a school for pro heroes?”
You switched off the tap and squeezed excess water from the cloth.
“Are you questioning my credentials, Professor Aizawa?”
“Not particularly,” he said. “It’s important to know the strengths and weaknesses of your team.”
“You could have looked at my file, you know.”
“Too much hassle. I wanted to ask you in person.”
You returned to the couch, cloth in hand. You got the impression that this was a test. Perhaps he already had looked at your file and was suspicious of you as a result. You wouldn’t blame him in his position, given the nature of your quirk and role in the school. He cared about the students far more than he would ever let on.
“Well,” you said, dabbing his eyes. “It’s true I’m not a pro, but I do have a quirk. It’s not… a particularly conventional one, though.”
Shouta stayed silent, waiting for you to continue.
“My quirk is a lie detector,” you said. “I can force people to tell the truth.”
“How do you activate it?”
“I say a little phrase.”
“Show me.”
He squinted at you, watching your body language. You were familiar with this dance; people learning what your quirk was and immediately wondering if you had used it on them without them realising. You got the feeling it ran deeper with Shouta. He wasn’t as interested in seeing your quirk as how comfortable you were using it on other people. Were you the type to proudly abuse your power? Did you take it lightly?
In truth, you weren’t comfortable using your quirk. Not at all.
“Tell me,” you said, goosebumps breaking out across your skin at the activation. “What’s your happiest memory?”
“There was a roof,” he said, without a moment’s hesitation. “My friends were there-”
You chose that question as you had believed it would be harmless. The horror in his eyes as he realised what he was saying, though, made you wonder if you had made a terrible mistake.
He clamped his mouth shut, eyes shining red.
You realised your skin no longer tingled. He’d erased your quirk.
“I…I’m so sorry,” you said, immediately overwhelmed by guilt. “I didn’t-”
“It’s fine,” he said, closing his eyes. “I’ve given it back now.”
It wasn’t fine, though. You had seen enough to know that. You clenched your hands in your lap, all too aware of the water soaking your skirt.
“I’m sorry,” you said again, unable to think of anything more coherent.
“Answer my question,” he said, far more gently than the first time. “Why did you come to a school for pro heroes?”
You thought about the scars on his body; the flash of horror at what should have been his happiest memory.
“Because,” you said, “heroes are more likely to get lost.”
Shouta glanced at you out of the corner of his eye and you blushed, worried you had said something embarrassing. He reached down into your lap for the cloth and placed it on his face.
“It’s getting late,” he said. “You should go home.”
“What about you?”
“Don’t worry about me,” he said, “I still have some stuff to do.”
“Can I at least make you some coffee?”
“Nah.”
You reached for your purse, albeit reluctantly, making sure to check and double check that you had your train pass. You couldn’t believe how much chaos it had caused.
“Are you sure you don’t want anything? I can get you some candy from the vending machine.”
Shouta had rolled over onto his side with his back to you and waved you away.
“Don’t think too much about it, just go.”
The school corridors didn’t seem so scary on your way out. The shadows didn’t seem quite so dark, nor your footsteps so loud. You were too distracted to truly pay attention, racking your brains for some way to make it up to Shouta. Perhaps you’d bring him lunch one day or make him his favourite snacks. Hizashi would know the kinds of things he liked to eat. You decided to ask him in the morning.
The lights were still on in the 1-A homeroom and you peered inside as you passed. From the looks of things, Shouta had been in the middle of marking. That wasn’t what drew your attention, though.
In his haste to leave the room and investigate the commotion, he hadn’t bothered to switch off the radio on his desk, instead leaving it to play to itself. Hizashi’s voice was more than a little distinctive and you knew within seconds that it was his show.
“ Now then, listeners, it’s time for our nightly poll! Tonight is a really difficult one, submitted by user rokstar88. When reborn into your next life, would you rather have no hair on your body at all or be completely hairy, like a yeti? Results are in after this short break.”

EpiPAIN
Tumblr media
Each year about 3.6 million Americans are prescribed EpiPen, the epinephrine auto-injector. The EpiPen is a life-saving treatment for anaphylactic reactions, which are caused by allergens such as nuts, seafood, and insect bites. A sharp increase in EpiPen’s price caused outrage, and prompted debate over whether Mylan N.V, the owner of EpiPen, acted unethically.
EpiPen Price Increases: Mylan N.V. acquired the right to market EpiPen as part of its acquisition of Merck KgaA. Soon, Mylan began to steadily increase the price of EpiPen. The wholesale price (the price which pharmacies paid) was $103.50 for a two-pack of auto-injectors. By July the price was up to $264.50, and it rose a further 75 percent to $461. By May, the price rose again up to $608.61. Over a seven-year period, the price of EpiPen had risen about 500% in total.
Mylan’s Colossal Marketing Efforts: In tandem with these price increases, Mylan embarked on a strategy to cement the market dominance of EpiPen, while expanding the market for epinephrine as a whole. Mylan struck a deal with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts which produced a website and several storybooks designed for families living with severe allergies distributed in the year. This was heavily critiqued due to the delicate nature of the situation and the bluntly inappropriate channel chosen for its advertising.
In addition, Mylan embarked on an extensive lobbying campaign. Mylan successfully lobbied the FDA in order to broaden the wording of the label of the drug, such that it could be prescribed to those who were ‘at risk’ of experiencing an anaphylactic reaction, in addition to those who had experienced anaphylaxis in the past. The company also added, in order to pressure lawmakers to require epinephrine be made available in public schools.
Chaos ensues: Eventually, Mylan’s action began to show impact. The last round of price increases, which saw the wholesale price of a two pack of auto injectors rise to about $608 drew widespread criticism from the public and lawmakers. Multiple congressional committees requested Mylan explain the rapid price increases, resulting in a hearing by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
Heather Bresch, CEO of Mylan, faced harsh criticism during her testimony. Bresch was unable to answer any questions about revenues and the company’s patient assistance programs, but defended Mylan’s business practices and refused to accept the assertion the company had raised the prices of EpiPen’s to increase profits.
Bresch has continually denied wrongdoing in the EpiPen pricing scandal. In September, she told the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that the company only makes $100 on each two-pack of EpiPens. She tried to appease House representatives by talking up Mylan’s access program and its decision to introduce a generic version of the drug. But members of the committee blasted the CEO for dodging their direct questions about the markups.
Later that month, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) told Mylan it had misclassified EpiPen as a generic drug, making it eligible for rebates that were lower than what the company should have been paying.
Bresch’s image throughout the debacle has been further hampered by the fact that her father is U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.), who has continually defended his daughter while at the same time distancing himself from the pricing scandal.
The EpiPen controversy has taken a toll on Mylan’s stock, which has fallen from $54 at the beginning of the year to $36.60.
Mylan has several lawsuits staring it in the face due to their unjustified price hikes and misclassification of drugs. In addition to plummeted stocks, their unethical practices have caused them to lose out on stakeholder trust.
Task at hand: As PROs of Mylan Pharmaceuticals, reworking the product pricing and strategic approach of the company so as to keep it afloat is the need of the hour. Develop methods to undo the damage and restructure public image in order to regain stakeholder support and trust.
Deliverables required but not limited to:
A. Report containing the following
1. Executive Summary
2. Defence Strategies
3.Public Relations Strategies for Stakeholders
4.Improved Pricing Strategy
5. Press Release

04/13/2021 DAB Transcript
Joshua 7:16-9:2, Luke 16:1-18, Psalms 82:1-8, Proverbs 13:2-3
Today is the 13th day of April welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I'm Brian it's great to be here with you today as we continue to move forward. In the Old Testament we are moving our way through the book of Joshua now. So. we’ve finished the Torah or the Pentateuch, and we are reading the story that comes next as the children of Israel cross the Jordan into the promised land and the walls of Jericho have fallen. The next city that was to be conquered was called Ai, but the children of Israel ran away from the people of Ai in defeat. And, so, now it's been determined that somebody that took things from Jericho that were supposed to not be taken, that were supposed to simply be devoted to destruction. And, so, all of that is getting sorted out. We’re reading from the New English Translation this week. Joshua chapter 7 verse 16 through 9 verse 2.
Commentary:
Okay. So, in the Old Testament today in the book of Joshua it is discovered that this man Aiken has taken treasure, has pillaged in some way the ruins at Jericho and hidden them. And this has caused the Israelites to be defeated in battle, in the next battle with Ai. And, so, all of the discovery is done, right? All of the investigation is done and it’s learned that Aiken is the one guilty for this and they find stuff buried in his tent and then all…all of…everything that has anything to do with Aiken then is destroyed. Then the children of Israel take the Army and go against Ai and defeat Ai. So, the second city is defeated in the conquest of the promised land. So, Ai was the little village and it…it's ruins still do exist, at least as archaeologically identified. I’ve been to that place. It’s in what we know as the West Bank near Bethel just like the Bible says. It’s…it’s like the site of it…it’s like in a couple people's backyards in kind is sort of sort of kind of like a neighborhood near…near main road. And, so, we've been able to speak to the archaeologists there and film a little bit there. There’s not a whole lot to be able to see that site. It’s sort of like a village up on a hill where this happened. But we could be like, “man, that’s pretty harsh, a harsh way to deal with Aiken. First conquest, all of this stuff going on.” And, so, we can scratch our heads and go like, “that's…that's a pretty severe punishment.” But if we’re wondering about that or maybe we’re wondering, why the severity and what those implications might be, really, we kind of find them in the gospel of Luke coming out of the lips of Jesus as He concludes a parable. “No one, no servant can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” Okay. So, in the incident with Aiken, this is the first battle for the promised land. And if we pause just for a second and remember what it took to get to the promised land, like a whole generation wandering in the wilderness, like all of the plagues, freeing the people from slavery in Egypt, like all of that. Most of the time that we have been together this year in the Scriptures in the Torah we have been moving toward this place and it took an awful lot to get there. And, so, disobedience and rebellion are going to be introduced with the very first act? Well, that would undo…that would undo the whole thing. That would set a precedence. And, so, essentially a counter precedent was set, because as we saw the giving of the law what is one of the most important things for the people to remember? That there is one God and only one God, that there is no other, and that to disobey God, or to chase after another God is breaking the covenant. So, to the rebel or disobey against God or chase other gods in any form is idolatry and a breaking of the covenant. The children of Israel can hardly get across the Jordan River before we see this begin. And, so, that gives us just a little bit of a context for Aiken and a little bit of understanding from Jesus. And the thing is this is always gonna be a problem for them. This kind of stuff is going to plague the children of Israel. And…and really modify and diminish some of the mission. But we’ll watch that unfold as we continue the journey, not just to the conquest of the…of the promised land, not just like through the book of Joshua but through their entire history. We will…we will see that they are indeed what God called a stiff-necked people, right? Stubborn. But are we any less stiff-necked? That's a fair question as we move forward. And the stories as we move forward will serve as a mirror to answer that question.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for Your word and we thank You for bringing us here. We are grateful. We love You. We revere You. We thank You for Your word and for all that it is bringing into our lives, all that we are learning, all that is being reconstructed in us, all that is being transformed and renovated. May we stay open to Your work we pray. In the name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.
Announcements:
dailyaudiobible.com is home base, it’s the website, it’s where you find out what's happening around these parts.
If you’re using the Daily Audio Bible app you can access pretty much all of these things from there as well. There’s a Drawer icon in the upper left-hand corner of the app screen and that opens up a drawer and in there you’ll find these things like the community section, whether on the app or on the web and that's where the Prayer Wall lives that we talk about often because we are a community that…well…one of the things that binds us together because we’re all over the world, literally really really far away from each other physically. is that we’re in it together in spirit through prayer and just through being in each other's lives as we take this journey through the Scriptures. So, be familiar with the Prayer Wall. That's in the Community section of the website or in the app.
If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible you can do that at dailyaudiobible.com as well. There is a link on the homepage. If it's the app that you're using, you can press the Give button in the upper right-hand corner, or the mailing address is PO Box 1996 Spring Hill Tennessee 37174.
And, as always, if you have a prayer request or encouragement you can hit the Hotline button in the app, the little red button up at the top or you can dial 877 942 4253.
And that's all for today. I’m Brian I love you and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow.
Community Prayer and Praise:
This is Alan in New Milford CT. I would like to lift up my brother who called in on April the 8th whose family is suffering from covid virus. You have so many of your family members that you had mentioned my brother and you sounded so beaten, so desperate, so hurt. I can understand as a father how frustrating it must be to care for a family and trying to deal with a disease for which you have no power over. So, I want to join the many thousands and thousands of my brothers and sisters who are gonna pray for you in the next few days. Our dear heavenly Father we thank You for Your great grace and that Your hand can wrap around this world and touch families and loved ones wherever they may be. Father we take authority over this covid virus that has ravished this man's family and we curse it to its roots. And Father we stand on Your word. There are so many wonderful scriptures that regard healing and it’s by Jesus stripes…stripes he bore upon his back by which we are healed. And Your word tells us I am the Lord thy God who healeth thee. Father we stand on Your word. We just ask You to be merciful and gracious. And God where there may not be adequate medical help for them, we know that You are the chief physician. And, so, we look to You oh God to spare this man's family and encourage him and strengthen him and God give him hope. Father we all need hope in this time in this day. There's things going far beyond our own strength to do end to deal with. But God, we thank You that You are a gracious and merciful God. And, so, we bind together and thank You Father in Jesus name. Amen.
Hello DAB family my name is Matthew from the UK. Today is the 8th of April 2021. Let us pray. Father in the name of Jesus I come before you on behalf of my brothers and sisters at the Daily Audio Bible. I come on behalf…I come before you on behalf of Brian and his family. Lord bless them, protect them, and continue to encourage them to continue to deliver the Daily Audio Bible to the entire world. Father, I lift up every member of the Daily Audio family that is calling out to You now for one submission or the other. Father, those who are grieving, those are in pain. My Lord and my God, I commit them to You that Lord that You shine Your face towards them oh God and grant them the desires of their soul. Father, particularly today I lift up Carlos Vallecula from Brooklyn to You whose family have been afflicted with covid. Father You Lord who delivered me from covid You will deliver Carlos and his family from covid. Carlos do not be afraid for the Lord your God is with you. He said He has not given you the spirit of fear but the spirit of power of love and of sound mind. Everyone who came to Jesus received healing, therefore I do clear healings and the name of Jesus to your family. Be strong in Jesus’ name. Amen. Amen.
Hi this is Radiant Rachel and I have a prayer request for my niece Kaylee who some of you might remember has called in and sang some prayers before. She is struggling with a fear of feeling food in her throat. She was choking…well not exactly joking…it was in her esophagus and not her windpipe about a month ago and she's been taking some steps of progress and eating things like pizza and sandwiches and then she goes back to not wanting to have any solid food. And also, you know, not feeling comfortable with feeling even like cold go down her throat, like cold liquid. So, just please keep her in your prayers as she goes through the healing process of getting comfortable with feeling food in her throat again. And we just Lord we lift Kaylee up to You today. We just pray that she will have no more fear and that she will be able to eat and enjoy food like a regular little 7-year-old. And I just pray that she will be able to use this experience in the future to help someone else who might need some comforting. And we just thank You for healing her and thank You for giving her the nourishment that she needs to grow and develop and thrive in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Good morning DAB family today is April 7th, 2021 and I just want to thank Brian and Jill and the Hardin family for this podcast and the countdown begins for baby China to arrive. And I also want to pray for Emily, and I think her name is Kayla and some of the other DABbers, Victoria Soldier. You guys are heavily in my prayers, even some of you that I can't remember your names, but God knows your names. And I would also like to ask for prayers for my family, my household. Our house almost caught on fire due to the circuit box being so hot. It burnt. A lot of our things…our stuff that were plugged into the socket and we're having a hard time getting the insurance to cover those things that we lost. They’re asking for so much but we're just trying to stay positive and get everything that they want. So, this is __ from Mississippi. Just please keep us lifted up in prayer as well. And thank you so much. Have a blessed day everybody.
My name is Terrell calling from Missouri. I'm really going through it right now. I'm going through a divorce with my wife having to move out of the house pretty soon. We've been through it for the last six years and I'm just…I'm ready to do something better within our marriage. I really don't want to lose my family. I don't wanna lose my wife. Coming off of Easter this past Sunday, I'm hoping and been praying for a resurrection in my marriage. I want to see a revitalization…revitalizing…I want to revitalize everything that's going on and just make it all brand new. We've hurt each other in the past, nothing physical, but we just want to…I want to move past everything that's been wrong. I've learned so much over the last few years and I just want to be able to apply it to my marriage and do right by my wife and kids. I’m praying to be able to get her back, get my family back and just work through this in a way that God's called me to be. Thank you.

The Price of Gold (Part 1)
Pairing: Lance Tucker x Reader Word Count: 2211 Warnings: sports talk, brief mention of real life gymnastics sex abuse scandal
Summary: As a sports journalist you’ve traveled the world interviewing famous athletes. You’ve loved your job up until you find out your next article is on the last person in the world you ever wanted to talk to, Lance Tucker.
A/N: This is my submission for @green-eyeddragonfanfiction Dragon’s 3k Follower Creative Content Challenge. Congrats!! My prompt was “I can’t be in love with you!” gif source (x)
THE PRICE OF GOLD MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Your eyes blinked a few times to disrupt the strain of staring at a computer screen for far too long. You had almost rubbed them with your fingers but thankfully remembered you were wearing makeup and looking like a raccoon is not something you wanted to do, especially not at work.
You were in the homestretch of making edits to your article In Depth, a monthly feature you were proud to be writing for over the last year. You had come a long way, writing for your high school’s newspaper to today working for ESPN in New York. Your determination to work in sports journalism led you to leave your home of sunny Florida for the bitter cold of Illinois for college. At Northwestern you honed your skills, covering the various athletic games of your school for their website which ultimately led to an internship at the Northwest Herald. After being hired you spent years working up the ranks until you were offered your position with ESPN. Life was good.
Stretching your arms out you yawned deeply, reaching for your nearly empty mug of coffee, but you were relieved to know that you finished ahead of schedule and sent it for review. The publishing date for your Cristiano Ronaldo article had moved up significantly since he became the first player to score 100 goals in the UEFA Champions League.
After a long needed stretch you walked to the office kitchen, pouring a fresh cup of coffee before returning to your desk. Sipping on the warm brew you checked emails, a smile stretching across your face as you replied to Neymar’s agent who was securing dates for your interview with the popular footballer; a trip to Paris on the company’s dime to do so is an added bonus.
This is what made the difference in your writing, the reason why your articles were so popular. You didn’t just interview the athlete, you spent time with them, observing the person they truly were outside of the court, field or wherever they had to be “on”, yet you had a natural way of relaxing them, allowing the person behind the athlete to shine through.
The ringing phone is a welcomed interruption from the computer screen. Alyssa, your editor’s assistant, is calling to ask you to come upstairs. Normally being called into your boss’s office would be panic inducing but you quickly learned that was just how Susan Treston was; she wanted to bring the best out in everyone and would often call people in to brainstorm ideas or give them praise.
The elevator doors opened and you made small talk with Alyssa before she ushered you inside the large office with floor to ceiling windows and a beautiful views of Central Park that always knocked you off your feet. Taking a seat in front of the desk you rubbed the chill off of your arms from the cool air conditioning. Glancing around you looked at Sue’s photos with different athletes, chuckling at the height difference of her and Shaquille O'Neal.
Susan walked in briskly, harshly clearing her throat from a gulp of coffee as she greeted you and sat down.
“Ahh Y/N. I just skimmed over the Ronaldo piece. Great stuff!”
“Thanks Sue,” you replied, beaming a smile of pride at her comment. “You’ll get the Brady article by tomorrow,” you said with confidence, knowing you were almost through with it, along with a few more that were close to finishing. Sue smiled back, appreciating all of the dedication you had to your work. “Oh and I think I’ll be packing my bags soon!” you nearly sang, excited at the prospect of going to France.
“Yes that’s what I wanted to talk to you about. You’re from Spring Hill, right?” she asked.
Your head tilted in slight confusion, wondering what your small Floridian hometown had to do with Neymar. “Um yeah,” you hesitantly replied, trying to hide the concern in your voice.
“Do you know Lance Tucker?”
Her question halts time, like a car that stopped short by slamming on the brakes, feeling as if your body bounced back against the seat in slow motion. Your heart began to beat a rapid rhythm as queasiness washed over you. Suddenly Sue’s office feels hot, unbearably humid much like the weather you grew up with. Beads of sweat begin to pool around your hairline and your jaw is so tense you feel as if your teeth will shatter. Your heels dig into the carpet as you mull over her question.
Who doesn’t know Lance Tucker? The gold and silver gymnastics medalist whose cocky face was plastered all over Wheaties boxes and magazines alike after his wins, and again in recent times after the controversies surrounding him. But you know what she’s asking, do you know him.
Lance grew up in Spring Hill too and despite wishing otherwise you knew him. At four years old your family moved across the street from him and you became fast friends. You hadn’t seen him since you were in high school and he was focused on training for the Olympics. You hadn’t spoken since though a small part of you wished the reason was because of the intense training or his newfound celebrity status after winning but no, your friendship ended before that.
Swallowing the lump in your throat you finally replied, “Yeah, of course I know him, he’s famous ‘specially for a small town but, uh, I don’t know him,” you lied.
“You went to Springstead High School, like him?” she questioned though it felt more like an interrogation.
Forcing a relaxed expression to help mask your lies you smiled before answering, “Yeah but I don’t think we were in the same grade. I might have seen him in the halls but I don’t really remember, it was so long ago, you know?”
Sue shrugged, seemingly accepting your answer. “Either way, I want you on this one.”
“I’m sorry, what?”
“Your next In Depth, with Lance Tucker.”
No. This can’t be happening. You repeat that over and over again as you find yourself stuck in a nightmare. Your trip to Paris has been rerouted to Hell, and truth be told you would rather interview the devil because at least you know his character unlike… You shudder at the thought of that man.
You began to explain and pathetically beg to her about how much work you’ve put in to making arrangements for the Neymar interview, even telling her about your latest inside tip on how he might be traded. “I can bang out a great story. We’ll be breaking major news Sue!” you tried desperately to sell your idea to her but she shook her head.
“I’ll have Josh break Neymar, I need you on this one.”
“Why?” you attempted to hide the anguish in your question. “Why me?” you practically whined.
“Tucker is opening a gymnastics facility in Spring Hill.”
Your head tilted in confusion. Lance had quickly abandoned his hometown after winning, moving to Los Angeles to continue his career and his “brand.” He endorsed everything from sneakers to chapstick, living it up in a cliffside mansion with a rotation of beautiful women before he eventually became a coach for USA Gymnastics Women’s Team until the scandals hit.
There was a sexual harassment claim and a former student accused him of fathering her child. He was cleared of all accusations and the paternity test backed that up but in light of the allegations against USAG’s team doctor Larry Nassar, Lance was dropped by the Olympics Committee, stating they wanted to bring in fresh talent when in reality they wanted to distance themselves from anyone with negative press attached to them.
Lance had stepped away from the spotlight over the last year, something that surprised you greatly considering that once Lance had the taste of fame he soaked it up like a sponge. He resurfaced briefly a few months ago when it was reported he was making an appeal against the committee's decision, requesting to be reinstated.
“Sue, I think I’m the wrong person for this. Heather has covered more gymnastics and I think she could…”
“You’re wrong Y/N,” she stopped you mid-sentence. “With the scandals behind him Tucker could still make it in L.A., I want to know the real reason he chose Spring Hill and you’re the best person to get that from him.”
You nod, pressing your lips together, feeling the uncomfortable tension that hung in the air. Your hometown connection is her ticket to getting the story and there was nothing you could do about it. You left her office with a forced smile, resting your forehead against the cool walls of the elevator as you rode it down to your floor.
Alyssa would be sending you Lance’s contact information. You have two months until print, knowing if any major news in his case broke sooner so too would your story. As the doors opened you wondered if you should press the button for Sue’s floor again, confess the truth about your connection with Lance and why you couldn’t do this article. Then again, maybe it would work against you. You prided yourself on your objective journalism, something rare in the media field today.
Your last words to Lance echoed in your head, “I never want to see you again!” You remember the conviction you felt, the fire in your veins, the anger that boiled your blood all masking the sorrow that burned beneath the surface.
“Hey, d’you wanna go to the Knicks game tonight? Chris bailed on me,” the cheery voice of your coworker Heather asked.
Exhaling a sigh you replied, “Wish I could but I have to get started on my next In Depth”. Your response prompted her to ask who the article would be on and swallowing harshly you said his name for the first time in years, “L-Lance Tucker.”
Heather’s eyes widened, her mouth dropped open in surprise growing into the largest smile you’ve ever seen on a human being. “Holy fuck Y/N! Are you shitting me?” she nearly shouted over the quiet office causing a few people to glare in your direction. “I’m so jealous of you right now!”
“You really shouldn’t be,” you grumbled.
“Are you kidding? He’s hot as fuck and you’ll be spending so much time with him. Remember when Twitter thought you were hooking up with Steph Curry?”
You laughed uncomfortably, “Um yeah that was not cool,” remembering how many times you apologized to his wife Ayesha on behalf of the internet and thankfully she understood. “I don’t want anything to do with Lance Tucker!”
“Why not?” Heather nearly scoffed, the typical reaction one might have considering they didn’t know him like you did.
Your emotions where starting to get the best of you, all this talk of Lance making it feel like the walls were closing in. “I… I just don’t like him... or gymnastics okay?!”
“Pffft, well that’s a lie,” she laughed. “We covered Rio together, we went crazy over Simone Biles’ wins!”
“Everyone knows women’s gymnastics are different,” you chuckled. “The truth is,” the truth in part at least you thought, “I’m giving up a huge article with Neymar for this. I even asked Sue if you could have this but no, she wants me ‘cause of the ‘hometown connection’”, you quoted with your fingers.
She gasped, turning a few more heads as she shouted, “You’re from his hometown?!”
“Well, yeah, but I don’t know him,” you firmly lied again.
As Heather rambled on about her crush on Lance Tucker your thoughts drifted you away like a cloud, one that was dark and heavy, ready to burst and rain down on the world below. Your history with Lance was in the past and if it wasn’t for this stupid assignment that’s where it would have stayed.
Heather left you to continue working and you stared at Alyssa’s email with Lance’s contact information for a solid five minutes before composing your own email.
It was past five and you had rewritten what you wanted to say at least fifty times, reviewing it now for the tenth time. You cringed while reading it; the email laced with lies and buffed up language to play to his ego.
Dear Mr. Tucker,
My name is Y/N Y/L/N and I’m a journalist at ESPN. I would be very interested in featuring you and your incredible athletic accomplishments for my feature “In Depth”. I would love to discuss your Olympic wins, the opening of your upcoming training center and of course get a firsthand account of the unjust actions taken against you by the US Olympics Committee. I would be honored to hear from you so we can arrange to meet in person.
Best,
Y/N
The mouse hovered over the send button and with a quick click it was gone. You felt queasy, knowing he was going to get that email. Maybe he wouldn’t recognize your name, you couldn’t be the only Y/N Y/L/N in the world. Yet a link to your biography on ESPN’s website was part of your email signature. If he didn’t recognize your name he would definitely recognize your photo. Even a pompous, cocky asshole like Lance Tucker could never forget his first love.

And Jesus we just thank you for all the places that you have taken us from, the things that you've shown us, the journey, the past, that really...just a journey. Lord, I thank you that we can realize that we are still in the process, We are still, you know waiting. There are still certain things that, you know, are waiting to be revealed. Jesus I pray that we would be able to take the next step and not be fearful and not be afraid of what would come next, for not being satisfied with what the present is and wanting to go back to. Jesus I thank you that you sustain our every movement- moment, and that you love us and you hold us so graciously in your hands. Father we love you. Good morning Daily Audio Bible Chronological family. This is Becky in Orlando and I just want to pray for China this morning. China, I have heard in your voice for the last couple weeks that you sound like you're stressed out right now and I apologize for not calling in sooner, but I want to pray in the name of Jesus right now for you. I want to pray for all of your wedding plans, cuz I know that can be a little stressful. I also want to pray for your school work. I want to pray for your time management while you're reading the Daily Audio Bible and also for, you know, your friends, and your family, and anything else that you might have going on in your life. I pray that the holy spirit is with you, working to calm you, and that you just feel his presence in you at all times. We love you so much. We thank you for reading to us every day. And I also want to give thanks and glory to God because I am back with my previous company. Yay!! I got my old job back and I should never have left. And so I am going into work right now. I’m going to be in training for the next two weeks and then I have 90 days to make my sales quotas. So I just pray that I have the right families in front of me, that love to vacation, and have the money to become our newest owners. So I love you very, very, very much and I will talk to you guys soon. Bye.
Hey Chrono family, it’s Brad from Kentucky. I'm struggling with just years of rampant adultery in my marriage. First of all, thank you everyone who has prayed for me, because I believe that your prayers are so powerful and I wish I called in sooner than I did. I felt...I found...I started to feel like things shifted in a positive direction when you guys started praying for me. And that's one hundred percent truth. Sure things are up and down, but it's more ups than downs these days, and I certainly think that the influence of your guys's prayers and the power of God, and plus that I just I want to cut out these other men so much. I think my wife is appreciating more and more what our family has to offer her, and what I have to offer her. And I just...God is working in my life, making me a better husband and she’s starting to see that, but she keeps talking with these couple of men via text, and things have been escalating with them, with pictures and stuff. And she hasn't met them, she says. I want this hold that satan’s had in our family, and these lies...I just want it to be broken. So thank you for your prayers. They're making a difference. Please continue to pray for us, please. Guys, I love you, and I appreciate you so much. Thank you. God bless.

Have a Trial Marriage With Husband, Demanding Extra Effort
Tumblr media
Summary:
On the wedding day, her fiance and his lover had a love affair and eloped. Her eyes were dim, she seized the man in front of the Civil Affairs Bureau.”To sum it up, your bride is not here, my groom ran off, wouldn’t it be better if we… fight together?”. Before marriage, she said, “Even on the bed, between me and you, there will not be anything!” After the marriage, he said, “Do not try, how do you know?”
Chapter 1: A Flash Marriage, and a New Wife
It was nine o’clock and the evening was sultry.
Tang Ning had drunk too much at her bachelor party, so her fiance brought her back to her apartment, but when she opened her eyes in spite of her headache, she could see a pair of man and woman exchanging a passionate kiss.
Tang Ning, like a lightning strike, when she sluggishly looked at the two people kissing by her bed, her heart erupted in anger.
“Yu Rou, do not be so reckless, Tang Ning just fell asleep!” The man holding the woman’s waist said.
“Why? Are you afraid of your fiancee waking up?” Mo Yu Rou softly complained, “Tomorrow you will be married, so this night, you must give it to me!”
“Baobe1, let’s not make trouble, and instead go to another room!” The man coaxed.
“Don’t! I’ll be here! I’ll be in front of her!” Mo Yu Rou quickly unbuttoned the man’s shirt, the two kissing again for a while.
Tang Ning’s tears fell, how could she expect that the fiance she would register tomorrow with, would have an affair on her bed?
“Be good, let’s go to the bathroom, don’t you like it when we use the bathtub?”
“You go ahead into the water!” Mo Yu Rou gently pushed the man’s chest, waiting until the man left, before she stepped in front of Tang Ning, sneering, “Tangning, tomorrow, I will not let Yu Fan have the opportunity to register and marry you, because I am pregnant, and he is mine!”
Tang Ning’s hands clenched into fists, but she did not fight back and make a sound, until soft moans could be heard from the bathroom, did Tang Ning feel herself break.
Three years ago, she was Beijing’s first supermodel, but for this man, she gave up everything, her position was given to Mo Yu Rou, it turns out that she was just giving someone else a wedding dress. No, she was just dreaming, she just had to wake up and it would be alright.
Tang Ning kept on lying to herself, but until midnight, Mo Yu Rou’s body were wrapped with Han Yu Fan’s body, and they left the hotel, Han Yu had so neatly abandoned her away!
But they were going to be married tomorrow, ah!
With a bitter smile, the next morning, Tang Ning, according to the original plan, drove to the Civil Affairs Bureau, and after getting off called Han Yu Fan, but he gave her a cold answer, “Mo Yu Rou had a stage injury, I have to first deal with important things, let’s register another day.”
Another day! Tang Ning reminded herself in her heart.
Tang Ning turned around to leave, putting on her sunglasses, before she was surprised to see a tall figure come towards her, a dark blue retro suit wrapped around a strong body, *chest pocket with a wine red scarf, looking down the legs were straight and slender, a pair of shiny brown shoes.
This man… gives a sense of oppresion that is too strong, just like a medieval noble emperor!
Especially after he approached, even though he was wearing sunglasses… *his face looked as if it was carved with a knife, especially his thin lips which could drive a person crazy.
Tang Ning recognized the man, he was the Hai Rui entertainment president Mo Ting, back when she was famous, *he once attended a party she was also in.
He was also going to get married today?
“President… Miss Chi did not arrive on time… she has been late for ten minutes!” Behind him, an assistant respectfully said.
“Call my family, *those who are late even for marriage, will always be late,” the man said coldly.
“But the chairman said that today you must marry, that even if you marry a demon he wouldn’t object,” the assistant said timidly.
“Then randomly pick a lady, I will only give half an hour....” The man spoke, seeming a bit unreasonable.
At first, she thought they were in the same boat… but it is different, Mo Ting had it easier, as someone who who was already rich, he did not need love, he only had to cope with the elders asking him to marry.
Suddenly, Tang Ning had an idea. She removed her sunglasses, walked to in front of the man, and whispered, “*Mo Ting, your bride is not here, and my groom has ran off, wouldn’t it be better if… we fight together?”
Behind Mo Ting, the assistant was stunned, a woman could actually be so bold…
But Tang Ning’s back were straight, as she had all of her courage.
Mo Ting took off his sunglasses, revealing eyes as dark as ink, his pupils like diamonds, emitting a sharp light, but after a moment, he turned to ask his assistant, “Give me her information!”
The assistant, of course, knew the identity of Tang Ning, directly searched on his phone her name, and then respectfully offered it. Two minutes later, the man’s lips thinned slightly, only to spit a word at her, “Okay!
Tang Ning felt that it was her luck that allowed her to meet Mo Ting, because he did not need a woman, did not need her so-called love, furthermore did not need anyone else in his bed!
Also, she would make Han Yu Fan regret it!
Two marriage certificates were quickly processed and half an hour later, Tang Ning received a marriage certificate, and from then on, she became a married woman.
“Mo Ting, don’t know if you have some time, can you listen to a few words of mine?”
“In the car!” Mo Ting put on his sunglasses, and began to leave the registration hall.
Tang Ning followed behind Mo Ting, and inside the Rolls-Royce, sent a nervous look towards Mo Ting Dao.”Thank you for getting married to me, whatever you need me to do, I will be unconditional, but there are two things I hope you can promise me.”
“Speak!” Mo Ting said.
“First, please do not interfere with my private affairs, since we are married, you can rest assured that I will not have too much contact with other men.”
Mo Ting heard Tang Ning’s words, his lips slightly raised.
“I promise you… however, I will give you time to clean up your messes from your past, we will try being married, six months later… I will fully open the news of our marriage.”
“Thank you!” Tang Ning nodded.
“And also… I do not agree with couples living separately! I will give you three days to move to the designated location, my assistant will contact you afterwards!”
Tang Ning did not object, since they were husband and wife, this request was very reasonable, so she nodded submissively, “I promise you!”
“Good!”
After the two’s agreement, Tang Ning left the car, and the assistant sitting on the driver’s seat looked at Mo Ting, “President, are we going to go back to the company? Or are we returning to your house to tell the chairman?”
“You drive to Tang Ning, tell me her whereabouts!” Mo Ting told the assistant, and then he got off.
Suddenly he was married, *nothing can not happen!
As he was the president of a multinational entertainment company, he had not heard of Tang Ning’s name, who had been famous in the modeling industry, but three years ago, Tangning suddenly refused the first-class model company Xinghuang’s offer, *it was a comprehensive ban, after that, she was announced signing with Arts Entertainment, and their boss Han Yu Fan *played fervently.

Translator’s Notes:
Hello there, nice to meet’cha! This is just a bare translation of this novel that I somewhat read on a chinese novel website (somewhat because, well...). I used Google Translate to turn it into english, Hopefully I haven’t done that bad of a job in translating it, but I wanted to try translating a novel... I apologize if it seems difficult to understand. There asterisk marks there are where I got stumped on understanding what the phrases meant.
To be honest though, as it stands, I’m not even that sure if what I posted as title was the correct translation, and if I continue this there might be times when you'' notice some words/phrases have been changed... still, until someone wants to translate this novel, please bear with me!

Italian shares jump on new coalition talks - markets latest news
Second Chinese suitor emerges as frontrunner to buy 'Boris bus' maker Wrightbus FTSE 100 and Europe's main share indices gain ground after yesterday's losses Boris Johnson should remind Merkel of these four hard economic facts when they meet Jeremy Warner: Global leaders are too divided to counter looming economic darkness 10:21AM Transatlantic mergers slump British defence company Cobham is currently the subject of a £4bn takeover bid from US private equity group Advent. Our mergers and acquisitions reporter, Vinjeru Mkandawire, has been taking a look at the latest figures: The number of transatlantic mergers and acquisitions (M&A;) between the US and UK fell by nearly a quarter in the first half of this year, according to research by Deloitte. This was on the back of an 18pc decline in global dealmaking, which was partly driven by increasing uncertainty around trade tariffs and the global economy, the firm said. Transactions between the US and the UK were down 20pc compared to 2018 but still exceeded the combined number of deals between the US and Germany, France and Spain.   Deloitte’s Paul Lupton said that despite the fall in transatlantic deal volumes across many of the major European markets, there was still “strong appetite” for technology assets, which accounted for 28pc of all US-UK deals in the first half of the year.  “This is attributable to the asset‑light business models which enable greater potential for geographical expansion and scalability,” he said. 10:12AM Goldman Sachs predicting a 'very volatile' three months for Italian economy Credit: ALBERTO PIZZOLI/AFP Economists at Goldman Sachs are predicting a bumpy few months for Italy's economy.  "In our view, the next three months will be very volatile and challenging for the Italian economy and its assets." They are also predicting a delay to the preparation of next year's budget if a new coalition cannot be formed and fresh elections have to be called.  9:59AM What next for Italy? The political upheaval in Rome has come at an awkward time for the country, as Berenberg's European economist Florian Hense has observed:  "With the submission of the 2020 budget to the Italian parliament and European Commission looming by 30 September and 15 October, respectively, the timing is unfortunate: Italy needs to find more than €20bn (£18.3bn) in savings to avoid the already legislated rise in the VAT by 3 percentage points in 2020." Berenberg has set out the three most likely scenarios for Italy:   1. Italy avoids snap elections for at least nine months: Five Star join forces with the Democratic Party (PD) for a new centre-left government, probably with Giuseppe Conte returning as prime minister. Markets could rally if the short-term uncertainty of snap elections is averted. The centre-left coalition could then focus on agreeing a budget and compromises with the EU over its deficit.  2. No poll for now but elections in early 2020: President Sergio Mattarella appoints a technocratic government to draw up the 2020 budget, with snap elections to follow early next year. Five Star and the PD could support the move as it would shield them from having to announce painful adjustments to the 2020 budget themselves. This option could avoid a volatile reaction from markets.  3. Snap elections later this year: The final option is for Mattarella to call snap elections for late October or early November. Current opinion polls suggest far right Matteo Salvini would likely win and become prime minister. A Salvini government could set Italy on a collision course with the EU over its budget. Bond yields could surge, driving up Italy's cost of borrowing.  9:36AM Italy seeks a new coalition in a bid to avoid fresh elections Italian president Sergio Mattarella (left) will try to find a viable coalition government after Giuseppe Conte (right) resigned as prime minister yesterday Credit: FILIPPO ATTILI HANDOUT/EPA-EFE/REX Italian president Sergio Mattarella will begin intensive talks with the country's political leaders today as he seeks to determine whether a new ruling coalition can be found after prime minister Giuseppe Conte resigned yesterday.  If a coalition cannot be found, Matarella will be forced to call fresh elections.  Conte resigned just over a year after agreeing to lead a populist alliance of the League party, led by Matteo Salvini, and the Five Star Movement. Mattarella, whose role as president is normally a largely ceremonial one, has the sole power to appoint governments and call elections. He is ready to give Five Star and the opposition Democratic Party, or PD, time to strike a deal. But he will allow them days, not weeks, to reach an agreement, Italian media reported.  The talks are set to begin this afternoon.  Rome's FTSE MiB index fell 1pc yesterday but has risen a healthy 1.46pc so far today.  8:59AM Fiat-Renault merger hopes buoy markets Credit: Eric Gaillard/REUTERS A report in Italy about continuing merger talks between Fiat Chrysler and Renault has helped to push shares in the car industry higher. There's a lot to keep track of in this Ryanair story so this might help:  When are the strikes? Pilots in the UK and Ireland are planning separate 48 hour stoppages starting from midnight tonight in disputes over pay and conditions.  What's happening in the London courts? An application by the airline for an injunction to block UK pilots striking is to be heard by a judge in London on Wednesday.  What's happening in the Irish courts? The Irish High Court will rule on whether to grant the airline an injunction to block the planned strike by 180 pilots based in Ireland.  Anything else? Quite a bit, actually. The airline is also facing a wave of strikes over the next month by staff across its Spanish and Portuguese bases. The first Portuguese strike action is set to begin today. Belgian unions have told members not to comply with the carrier's request for them to staff flights that have been hit by the Portuguese industrial action.  And the share price? It's dropped 17pc in the past month.  Markets Hub - Ryanair Holdings 8:21AM Ryanair could attempt to break strikes Ryanair has been drawing up plans to keep as many services as possible in operation if it fails in its legal action. The Irish High Court is due to issue its decision on whether the 48 hour stoppage can proceed.  Ryanair claims that the strike action breaches an agreement it reached with the union last year. The budget airline also claims that  the union has failed to submit detailed proposals ahead of balloting its members or issuing its strike notice and that the industrial action is timed to cause maximum disruption by coinciding with a scheduled strike by UK pilots.  We'll keep you up to date on developments throughout the day.  7:59AM Facebook moves to address privacy concerns Credit: Dado Ruvic/REUTERS Facebook is launching a long-promised tool that lets users limit what information the social network can gather about them on external websites and apps. The move is an attempt by tech firm to head off criticism of its privacy practices which have been heavily scrutinised in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal.  Facebook said it is adding a section where users can see the activity it tracks outside its service, including through its "like" buttons. Users will be able to turn off the tracking.  The feature has been launched in South Korea, Ireland and Spain and is due to be rolled out in other markets in the "coming months".  7:37AM Ryanair in bid to stop pilot strikes Ryanair is going to the High Court today in an attempt to block Thursday's strike action. An application by Ryanair for an injunction is to be heard by a judge in London on Wednesday. In Ireland, Ryanair has also sought an order at the High Court in Dublin to prevent around 180 pilots based in Ireland from going on a 48-hour strike from midnight on Thursday. The application was contested by Forsa, the parent union of the Irish Airline Pilots Association. A judge is expected to give a ruling on Wednesday morning. 7:22AM Boris heads to Boris, while crisis reigns in Italy Good morning. Equities across Europe were lower yesterday amid political uncertainty, not least in Italy where prime minister Giuseppe Conte said he would resign. The pound went in the opposite direction after comments from Angela Merkel that Europe would think about practical solutions to the current Brexit impasse were interpreted as a chink of light in the stand-off between Downing Street and Brussels. Today the German Chancellor will be meeting with Boris Johnson in Berlin.  5 things to start your day 1) Second Chinese suitor emerges as frontrunner to buy 'Boris bus' maker Wrightbus: One of China’s biggest engineering companies has emerged as the frontrunner in the race to save “Boris Bus” maker Wrightbus. Weichai, part of giant state-owned conglomerate Shandong Heavy Industry, is in detailed discussions to buy the struggling bus company, The Daily Telegraph has learnt. 2) Shareholder revolts at annual meetings have “little impact” on restraining runaway pay across FTSE 100 companies, despite a fall in the average salary paid to chief executives last year, according to the CIPD and the High Pay Centre. Between 2014 and 2018 shareholders approved all FTSE 100 company pay policies presented at an AGM, with most votes sailing through, a report by the association for human resource professionals and the think tank found. 2018 income figures for the CEOs of the FTSE 100   3) Yellowhammer port chaos is not even Project Fear: it is slapstick, writes Ambrose Evans-Pritchard. The Yellowhammer report excited my interest because it makes extraordinary warnings about ports in a no-deal Brexit, and I happen to have been talking to port officials over the past two weeks. These included the Boulogne-Calais chief and the head of the UK’s biggest port complex on the Humber. My conclusion is that the Yellowhammer section on ports cannot be true. 4) Britain is a touch richer than previously realised after new sums by the Office for National Statistics added an extra £26bn to annual GDP. The Government and charities replace buildings, machinery and other capital more frequently than expected, businesses develop more software in-house than was known, and services exports are larger than had been appreciated. 5) Lucy Burton finds out who the Hong Kong 'Superman' that's taking on British beer is: Hong Kong's richest man Li-Ka Shing. The 91-year-old was determined to change his circumstances from a young age, telling Forbes in 2010 that the "burden of poverty and this bitter taste of helplessness and isolation" that he felt as a child drove him on in adult life. He is the 28th richest person in the world with a net worth of around $32bn.   What happened overnight Asian shares flatlined on Wednesday as investors took a step back after recent gains, with focus now turning to a key speech by Federal Reserve boss Jerome Powell at the end of the week. Rising hopes for China-US trade talks have provided a much-needed lift to markets over the previous two days but with few fresh catalysts, dealers are keeping their powder dry ahead of Friday's address. After positive signals from Donald Trump and some of his top advisers on Monday over progress in the talks with Beijing, and an olive branch with the delay of a ban on Huawei purchases, there have been few developments for traders to buy on. "Our trade-war headline-inspired relief rally appears to have run its course as I suspect there is still a lot of nervousness among US investors as the global economic realities are just too hard to ignore," said Stephen Innes at Valour Markets. With so much riding on the Fed, investors were understandably anxious. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan dithered either side of flat after three straight days of gains. Japan's Nikkei slipped 0.3%, while Shanghai blue chips added a slim 0.06%. Hong Kong stocks went into the break slightly higher after swinging throughout the morning. The Hang Seng Index added 0.11 percent, or 28.98 points, to 26,260.52. Journal 10-14/09
This past week I’ve mostly just been completing the frame working for the HTML, CSS and some JS. I’ve very much progressed on from last week with just basic HTML frame working. For start, all of the links in the website now work. What’s more, I have included a basic name checking feature in the home page that checks to see if the user has or hasn’t entered a name into the name submission. If the users don’t enter a name and try to move to one of the other webpages, the website will come up with a friendly error message telling them they cannot continue on until they enter some sort of name into the text field.
As for the Journey mode, I have managed to find a way to switch between different chapters using the next and back buttons, as well as a chapter selection, all with surprisingly little code.
What I ended up doing was putting each chapter into a div with the display set to None and just sit them at the bottom of the HTML document doing nothing. The plan is when a user requests a specific chapter, the side-bar is emptied and a clone of requested chapters (with the original chapter’s display still set to none) is appended to the side-bar, then some JQuery turns on the display of the cloned version in the sidebar.
Aside from that, I also did the frame working for the Browse mode of the website. As I mentioned last week, since I wasn’t sure how Fraser was extracting the data from the library, I couldn’t do much of the interactivity for that part of the website and didn’t really go beyond the HTML frame working.
From our latest Contact, there are somethings that my group members wanted me to change about the website. First, my fellow group members pointed out that it would be better if the back and next buttons stayed fixed at the bottom of the navigation bar instead of the user having to scroll all the way to the bottom to quickly move between chapters.
My group members also said that the home button at the bottom of the page needed better styling. Both of the things I quickly fixed this afternoon (as shown in the pictures below).
Looking at our progress plan document, we are a bit behind schedule since we are still tweaking our parts of the assignment when the bulk of the coding should have already been completed. As well as this, none of us haven’t even touched the document we need to submit for part B. Being the team’s leader, I will divvy up the work tomorrow and assign each member their own part of the document to do.

Jeremiah 51:54-52:34, Titus 3:1-15, Psalms 100:1-5, Proverbs 26:18-19
Today is the 28th day of October welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian as I have been every day since we started this. So, if this is your first day then…good to meet you, welcome aboard. We are on this journey and we’re well on this journey as we continue our journey through the Bible this year. So, let's get to that. We’re reading from the English Standard Version this week. Jeremiah chapter 51 verse 54 through 52 verse 34 today.
Commentary:
Okay. So, in the letter to Titus today we find these words, they’re characteristics, they’re like descriptors of the life of faith. “Be submissive to rulers and authorities. Be obedient. Be ready for every good work. Speak evil of no one. Avoid quarreling. Be gentle. Show perfect courtesy toward all people.” Okay are you seeing that all around you right now? Like if you turn on the news are you seeing that? If you just look around, are you seeing that? If you go online onto social media are you seeing that? The answer would be no, that you're probably not. And I'm not. I’m kind of…kind of witnessing the opposite of that most of the time. Maybe the better question though is, “am I being this way I? Am I speaking evil of no one? Am I avoiding quarreling? Am I being gentle? Am I showing perfect courtesy toward everyone? Am I ready to do every good work? Or am I just participating in adding to the chaos and the noise that is deafening?” These characteristics, this little list in the letter to Titus, these things are supposed to be an outgrowth of the fact that Christ has come and redeemed us. I just continue to quote from the letter. “We ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another”, which is pretty much what we see all around us a lot of the time. But the letter goes on. “When the goodness and the loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of things we did, but because He was merciful”, right? And that is the basic hope of the gospel. And once again we see these contrasts, where it’s like, “that's supposed to do something.” Lile when you believe, when you enter into the journey of faith, when the intimacy of God draws near, that's supposed to irreversibly change us. And when we are irreversibly changed, then the things that we once did are…well…they’re changed and we reflect this gratitude that goes so deep that it permeates everything about us so that we walk around in a state of grace, a state of gratitude that spills out from us and affects the way that we interact and behave toward other people because we realize how lucky we are, like how fortunate that the intimacy of God has drawn near, that God has come near and rescued us transforming us the by day step-by-step. We are not who we once were. And, so, our lives should reflect that. These are such good words for the times that we are in right now when divisiveness seems to be like the game we’re playing.
And then we’ve got the Proverb. I mean yesterday the proverb gives us this one sentence about meddling and about dog ears and today like we get this other visual, this one sentence, “like a madman.” So, let’s just picture that, a crazy person “who throws firebrands, arrows and death.” Okay, so a crazy person with lethal intent. Are we on the same page? The kind of person we don't exactly want to encounter unaware. That kind of person is the man who deceives his neighbor and then says, “I was joking.” In other words, “I said it, but I didn't mean. It was a joke. What's the big deal? What's wrong with you? Can't you take a joke? In other words, the person who actually who really wanted to hurt you with the words like firebrands and arrows, and then when confronted is just like, “oh that was just a joke. I didn’t mean that.” You may know people like that. You may be a person like that. If you know, people like that or if you're on the receiving end of that it really can…it can make you question whether your all their, like are you going crazy? Because it's like you have thin skin and you just keep getting wounded and hurt and you keep thinking, “you're…but you’re trying to hurt me. Like I know that you’re trying…you’re using these words to hurt me but then you’re saying like it's just a joke and it's not just a joke.” But there's no way to like, confront that. It’s like he said she said. And, so, you're in your head going crazy like, “I know that was meant…I know that was meant to hurt me.” And we’re seeing all kinds of name-calling and all kinds of sidestep little joking things…like all kinds of stuff going on in the world around us. We’re seeing this kind of stuff. It's like a crazy person with lethal intent. Those are…that’s a good ancient description that feels very, very accurate. So, you know, if you’ve been on the receiving end of that, then it's being called out in the Bible. It's being named for what it is in the Bible and you should take heart that you’re not actually going crazy here. You…you have the behavior of an arrow toting firebrand wielding vicious crazy person and that's what's going on. But this could also be a mirror and you could realize, “I do that. Why do I do that? Like, why am I like that? What is going on here?” Well then you…you've got a visual that might make it stark, what's actually happening. It's like a crazy person with lethal intent who just wants to sidestep, like wants to do the damage then step away and go like, “I don’t know what…I don’t know what happened. I don't know why you’re all bloody. I was just…I was…it was just a joke. I don’t know why you’re crying here. It was just…I was just kidding.” Yeah, we've examined some things today. These are kind of deep things from Titus and Proverbs because these are connected to deep motivations and deep brokenness and wounding. Like, this is bringing up a lot if we’ll take the time to examine it and explains a lot when we look around us and kind of see the same thing going on in the world. And, so, let's heed the Scriptures and come into alignment with what things are supposed to look like because we are so grateful to even be here at all. The fact that we’re gonna draw the next breath is the evidence of God's life-giving force within us. We’re gonna exhale and it’s gonna be a step of faith, believing that the next breath is coming. We should be grateful to be breathing. If we could just start there and realize “I’m alive!” And maybe life is looking like I want it to look but if I stop comparing my life, if I stop listening to the noise and chaos and fighting and divisiveness, of I just got to the baseline, “grateful to be here” place well then some things could change. We could start spreading the evidence of our transformation into the world, which is the point. We're the body. We're the city on a hill. We're the salt of the earth. We have a role to play in preserving the whole thing, which is what salt does. So, I guess fundamentally from our reading today we can examine ourselves and look at the repercussions of our lives, the implications of us being here. Are we filled with gratitude and want to bring good channeling the kingdom of heaven into this world on earth as it is in heaven or are we just adding to the annoyance?
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, well up from within us. These are deep things. And the answer is that we…we try…we don't do it on purpose, but we…we try to live in both of those spaces sometimes being so deeply grateful that Your love just pours out of us, but the next day it could be the opposite of that and we’re walking in the darkness and we’re perpetuating the darkness. And that shouldn't be. That’s a divided heart, that’s a double mind. And the Scriptures tell us that's basically not going to end well or go anywhere. And, so, we need an undivided heart and we need the renewal of our minds. In fact, we need more than that. We need the mind of Christ to navigate this world. And it's available. It’s not hidden It's everywhere. We’re just not paying attention. We’re not slowing down and observing ourselves to any degree and seeing the implications of our lives. But we’re here at this moment kind of examining, “what am I bringing? What am I birthing? What am I giving? What is happening in this world because I'm here? Is it good or is it evil? Holy Spirit, we want it to be good…good. We want to be mature representatives and ambassadors for Your kingdom upon this earth and we’re gonna need Your help. And we’re gonna need Your help a lot right now. So, come. We become aware of You. We surrender to You. We humble ourselves and ask for Your guidance and we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Joshua 16:1-18:28, Luke 19:1-27, Psalms 87:1-7, Proverbs 13:11
Today is the 18th day of April welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I’m Brian it's wonderful to be here with you as we bring another week to a close, continue the steps forward, day by day. So, we’ve been reading for the English Standard Version this week, which is what we'll do today and we will continue in the book of Joshua with chapters 16, 17 and 18.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for another week. Another week has gone by. They go by quickly it seems. Sometimes it feels like that time is dragging on and sometimes it’s like flying by and when we consider like how quickly we move through a month it feels like it's flying by and yet day by day step-by-step You are there guiding and instructing us through Your word, drawing us together in community. And, so we thank You for that. And as we release this week and it floats away and becomes a part of our history, we are grateful, and we are longing to see all that You have in store for us in the coming days and weeks. So, come Holy Spirit we pray. As we move into the end of this week may Your spirit hover around us in everything we do and say. And we ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
This is Silver Lining Cindy from Seattle and my good friend Kristi Walker whom I met at the Moore conference a few years ago had some fantastic quarantine advice. She said at this time the best thing to do is to praise God. And, so, I followed suit and I came up with a list of phrases. Number one, so many dishes equals washing hands, very clean hands. There’s no parking tickets. CO2 emissions are down all over the planet and it is causing for some great views in different places. Very inspiring. From homeschooling I get to hear some really interesting stories from my kid that is…they’re very good and they’re very funny. My other kid is actually making use of a science kit that has been collecting dust for a few years. And, so, I’m excited about that. I’ve learned that by golly I can cook. I am donning this silver crown of wisdom atop my head from my undyed roots. I’m getting in touch with long-lost contacts. I found that wearing a robe to work is finally okay. Necessity breeds invention in so many ways, especially when you run out of ingredients in your kitchen. Jill, you did not have the Moore conference this year and just the foresight around this and what a blessing from God that it wasn’t…it didn’t happen. And Brian I’m so grateful that you and everybody got back from Jerusalem before everything got really crazy. Discoveries - eyes that can see. I’m learning a lot about the things that happen at my house when I’m normally at work, like all the crows that fly up to my roof. This is very interesting. And I’m also enjoying the lovely submission that we have no idea what God has in store for us and I pray that He feeds all of you in different lovely beautiful surprising ways every day. I have a certification exam that I am doing on Friday morning at 8:15 AM Pacific Standard Time. I’m really hoping for your prayers that I will pass my exam on Friday. I love you all.
Hi this is Scott Campo from Olean New York and I enjoy the Daily Audio Bible. Brian you do a great job and your daughter does a great job too on Chronological. And I just accepted the Lord and I’m a new Christian. And, so, have a great day.
Good morning DAB today is April 15th staying true to my calling on the 15th of the month for this entire year. This is your friend Val in Vegas. This is a praise report y’all, a stand up for Jesus, the Lord Almighty is strong and powerful praise report. This time last month I was in the hospital with double pneumonia, a ton of other health issues. I had just lost my job and felt so low that I believed God was mad at me y’all. And today just 30 days later I’m out of the hospital feeling amazing despite the doctor’s reports. I started my dream job last week working from home. You cannot tell me that our God is not able. Please, if you are out there like me on the edge in horrible health, hospitalized, unemployed and you feel like giving up, please, please, please listen to me. Listen to my words right now. God loves you. And my sister and my brother if He will do it for me, He will do it for you also. Thank you to everyone that prayed for me. This community has saved my life on more than one occasion and it can be done for you also. If you need prayer or have a praise report, please call in and share with us. There is power in the prayer circle of believers we have. We’ve got the most valuable tools here in this resource. Thank you, Brian thank you Jill, thank you Hardin family. Please call in and share…
This is Bonnie and this is for Victoria’s Venessa the respiratory therapist in Maryland. I heard you call in and I felt a connection to you because I also live in Maryland and my son who too lives in Maryland is a respiratory therapist. I want to call and in pray for you and I want to tell you how much I esteem you for coming out of your retirement to help your fellow respiratory therapists and patients. Heavenly Father I ask that You and Your great love and mercy, that You will keep Vanessa safe from the coronavirus and You would honor her dedication to these sick patients that she would come out of retirement to help him. What a great sacrifice of her time and talents that she is giving. I also pray for safety for my son Michael and his wife Sarah who is an ICU nurse. I pray for all medical personnel who are taking care of these patients and putting their own health at risk. I pray that there is enough PPE for all of them to keep them safe and enough medication and ventilators for the patients. I pray that more people would come to help in the hospital settings where there is so short staffed and overworked. I ask that You give wisdom to President Trump and the whole coronavirus task team and all the governors and leaders of all the states and all the countries on the best way to handle this pandemic. And most of all Lord I pray that Your will be done in the situation and that You are bringing people to Yourself through this. That’s the most important thing of all. And also, that You will be with the world as we strive to recover financially when this is over, and people would be able to return to work. And Father be with those who are sick and dying without family members, that is very heartbreaking and be with the family members who are grieving and can’t be there with their loved ones. Help us to trust in You because we know that You are in control of this and give us the peace that only You can give. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Good morning DAB this is Blessings Flow in Pennsylvania. I was just calling in to say hi. Today’s April 15th and I am lounging here with my…our six-month-old who’s just kicking and enjoying life. But I was just calling in to say hi and just sitting here grateful. I believe it was Stanley in Maryland shared today just how we have a rhythm and every day we can listen and partake in the word and listen to each other’s prayer requests and praise reports and feel connected whether in quarantine and before the quarantine. So, I just want to call in with gratitude and also to thank the Hardin family for the app, the app that has been and...and all of the new updates. Thank you, thank you for your tireless work that many people like myself and thousands around the world you’ve never met are able to reap the benefits of your labor of love and also to give back. So, I want to thank you for that. And I also wanted to shout out Kingdom Seeker Daniel and Lady of Victory, back in early March I think it was listening to the February 25th Community Prayer and you had talked about jumping over to the DABC. And that day I really didn’t feel any impetus to start that but for some reason the next day it was just in my heart to start listening to the DABC. So, I have been doing that and I’m a double DABber now. So, I just want to thank you for your faithfulness and encouraging us to do that. May God bless everyone. Blessings Flow in Pennsylvania…

Ezekiel 31:1-32:32, Hebrews 12:14-29, Psalms 113:1-114:8, Proverbs 27:18-20
Today is the 15th day of November welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian it's great to be here with you as we…well…as we move through the threshold of a shiny sparkly new week that is out in front of us, but we are also moving to the dead center of the month of November. So, welcome to the middle ground. This week we’ll be reading from the New Living Translation and continue our…our journey through Ezekiel. Today chapters 31 and 32.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for this brand-new week right smack in the center of this month and we are grateful. Our hearts are grateful. We thank You once again as we so often do, because it's the context of our gathering as a community. We thank You for Your word. Without the Scriptures we would have never crossed paths we would've never known each other; we would've never been drawn together in community. The Scriptures are the centerpiece of what we do here in. We thank You for the gift of them because…because they touch everything about us, and they invite us forward. They invite us to grow. Sometimes that growth is comfortable and natural and sometimes that growth is prying us loose from things that we’re holding onto that do not belong. And yet we see examples of it over and over and over in the Scriptures. We realize this has been going on a long time and we’re not the only ones. You are Fathering us, leading us on the path to righteousness, leading us on the narrow path that leads to life. And, so, come Holy Spirit into this brand-new shiny sparkly week. With every choice and every decision that we make we will tell the story and we want to tell the story of Your goodness and of Your kindness and of Your mercy and of Your long-suffering and of Your grace and of Your correction and direction. And, so, we open our eyes to see what You are doing as we move forward in the week. Come Holy Spirit we pray. In the name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.
Announcements:
dailyaudiobible.com is home base, it's the website, it’s where you find out what's going on around here. I say it most every day to remind you to find out what’s going on around here and stay connected stay.
Stay connected at the Prayer Wall. Check out the resources that are available in the Daily Audio Bible Shop.
But also, we have the Global Campfire initiative going on. We did this a couple of years ago when we were launching the Daily Audio Bible app as our own, like from the ground up app that we built specifically to interface with, from the ground up, platform that we’ve built over many, many years. And, that…so that was new. We had an app for a long time but this app was connected so that we could begin to be more and more connected and that's what we've been doing for the last couple of years is stabilizing and building that out and planning into the future because this is the place that ultimately is home for us. And, so, as many ways as we can be connected, what's what we’re working on. So, now this is the second Global Campfire initiative a couple years later. The first one allowed us to launch it and make it free and now we just need to sow in a little bit. It's been a hectic year for all of us. It’s been a hectic year here too and we just need to sow into this and keep moving forward. And, so, what we've done, as you probably heard because I’ve talked about it for what, four or five days now, is press up some vinyl, 500 copies, a beautiful edition of the Heart album that we released on the 7th of July for the long walk, which is a guided prayer and music journey just to center ourselves in our hearts and open ourselves to God and invite him into the emotions that we've been experiencing this year. And, so, that has been fantastic to hear the stories coming back from it. But we pressed up 500 copies of vinyl for this Global Campfire initiative. And anyone who can contribute a hundred dollars or more, we’d love to send you a copy of the heart album. So, all you need to do is…you can go to dailyaudiobible.com and at the website up at the top you'll see Initiatives. Click that button and you'll see the Global Campfire there or if you’re using the Daily Audio Bible app you can press the little Drawer icon in the upper left-hand corner, and you'll see Initiatives in there. Just hit that button and you’ll find the Global Campfire initiative. And I thank you. I thank you for everyone who has participated. It is so good to know. I mean, we do this in community so that we know that we are not alone but there are some days in my life where I need to know I'm not alone. And, so, I thank you everyone who has participated in this. That has made a huge difference. So, check it out in the Initiatives section.
If you have a prayer request or encouragement you can hit the Hotline button in the app, or you can dial 878-942-4253.
And that's it for today. I'm Brian I love you and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow.
Community Prayer and Praise:
Hi this is Birth Butterfly calling…calling on Tuesday, November 10th. I just finished my audio from November 7th and I just wanted to say I plead the blood of Jesus over all the DABbers throughout all the nations and I just want to say praise be to God, praise be to Jesus. Have a wonderful day. Amen.
Hi family this is Dawn Rising I just wanted to call in to ask for prayer. It’s just been…this is my third year listening to DAB and I feel like I have changed so much and God is working in me so much however I don’t feel like I have become a better person in my marriage and I’m just frustrated as why I can take the word and become a better Christian outside my home but when it comes to my own marriage I’m bitter at times and I’m confrontational and combative. And I’m not sure what that’s about. You know, there’s obviously deep rooted stuff going on there but I just really want the word to flow through me and I want it to change my marriage and I just…I can’t do it on my own. I’ve been trying for three years. I’m a really nice person but I just…I don’t know what it is about…I just…maybe I feel challenged all the time and I feel defensive. So, I’m asking for your prayers. I’m asking for God to give me peace, be submissive as we are called as wives and to have just a better relationship and one where I’m not always feeling challenged…he’s not challenging me…it’s just me. So, please family can you pray for that for me? I just need to find peace. And…yeah…thank you so much. Bye.
Hello DABbers, I just wanted to say how happy I was to be able to listen to the community prayer line this week. I loved all the singing. Candace, I don’t remember what that one song was that you sang. It was towards the end, but it sounded kind of bluesy or something like that – jazzy, bluesy - I don’t remember but I loved it. That was great. And Chad from what was it? __ . Your prayer were so sweet for those that you prayed for. I just was like, wow! You rock. And then, who else? Kim from Kentucky. You were so sweet. I’m like, “O my goodness. I think that this is heaven.” Talk about happy tears. I think that this is how you become family when you just have such love for people and…and you feel that, you know, there is this connection and whatever. But yes, I mean, we are family because we are part of His kingdom and we are His children. And, so, I love that. Just wanted to say thank you all for calling in and for being such a blessing. Love you. This is God is gracious in Arizona

I’m calling today for Billy in Decatur Georgia. Lord I bring Billy and his family to You this morning and ask that she would be so present in their life right now in the death of his mother, that You would show him Your grace and Your love in this time of great loss and pain, that You would lift him up and send people into his life to be a blessing and a strength that him, meet every need and make You look back and see Your hand at work and everything has to be done in the next days and weeks to come and that he would praise You with a loud voice for being his peace and his rest. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Isaiah 33:14-36:L22, Galatians 5:13-26, Psalms 64:1-10, Proverbs 23:23
Today is the 20th day of September. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian. It is a pleasure, of course, every day and an honor to be here with you for lots of reasons. You're very cool and I think it's awesome that we can be together like this and we’re a community all over the world taking the next step forward and the very reason that we've come together is to do that, to allow God's word to speak to us. So we’re reading from the Christian Standard Bible this week. Isaiah chapter 33 verse 10 through 36:22 today.
Commentary:
Okay. So, we talked about two different paths and two different outcomes in the book of Isaiah. Yesterday and we see the same kind of thing today in the book of Galatians, two different paths and their outcomes - the path of the sinful nature the path of union with the Holy Spirit. So, Paul wrote, for the flesh desires what is against the Spirit and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh. These are  opposed to each other so that you don't do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit you’re not under the law, right? So, two paths that are opposed to each other and are going in different directions that will end up in different places. So, we can see that we can choose the path that submits to sin, because it's fighting for control. But how do we define that? Are there signs that reveal whether we’re choosing that path and whether we’re submitting ourselves to sin. According to Paul, there are. And in his own words. the works of the flesh are obvious - sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. So, let’s just spend just a moment. And that's a pretty good list. And we need to process it. And we can understand how sexual morality or lustful pleasures or drunkenness and wild parties would make the list, right? We’ve probably been warned against these since we entered puberty, but what about jealousy? What about envy? What about outbursts of anger? Have we ever considered that these are walking the path of the sinful nature? And we might think well, what's the big deal? Everybody gets mad. For Paul, the big deal was that these do not lead us into anything other than more bondage. So yeah, you’re free to become in more bondage if that's what you want to use your freedom on. But put in those terms it’s awfully counterproductive, right? And Paul is trying to contrast and reveal a freedom in Christ Jesus that is a boundless, right? So, let's think about it. How free have you felt when you are burning with jealousy or comparing your life with someone else's in envy? How free does that feel? I mean, did you get like the sense of complete wholeness the last time you had an uncontrollable outburst of rage? Right? When was the last time lust gave you this deep sense of spiritual joy? According to Paul, if these behaviors dominate our lives it’s because we've chosen the path of the sinful nature, and he tells us where the path leads. He says, let me tell you again as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the kingdom of God. So, some stuff to think about. Thankfully, Paul didn’t say that anyone who fails in these areas is hopelessly lost. Rather, the person who lives into that way of being, the one who walks not path will not inherit the kingdom of God. So, are we walking that path? If we are then it’s not gonna probably end where we had hoped it would. But, like we said, this is a contrast, there is another path that was outlined in our reading today, the path of the Spirit. And what does that path look like? Paul said, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things. Now those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. So, we can see the contrast pretty starkly and we can decide which one of these paths is heading in the direction that we were hoping to end up in because we’re going to have to follow the path that leads to where it is that were trying to go, right? Otherwise, we’re not going to get there. And this is often the case with the Scripture. The Bible continually shows us that our thoughts and our words and our deeds become the path we are walking and it reveals to us where those paths are leading so that we can understand where we’re going and that our choices have outcomes. So we've considered the path of the sinful nature and the path of walking in the Spirit. What path are you on? What path do you want to be on? As has always been the case, the choice is ours.
Prayer:
Father, we invite You into that because if we’re going to be honest we’re going to have to confess that we’re trying to walk both roads, a little of this a little of that, a little for You, Lord, and a little for us. I'll give You my worship but I'm going to hold onto that bitterness because I think it defines me and gives me permission to lash out at other people for the deficits that I feel inside myself. This is childish behavior Lord and we confess it. You are inviting us to grow up in You, You are showing us the path that leads to life. You've told us in advance that it's a narrow one and few find it. And is it any wonder that we’re so distracted? But we want to walk the path that leads to life, following Your Holy Spirit, allowing the Spirit to plant the fruit of the Spirit in our lives so that it grows up a bountiful harvest and overwhelms the weeds that we keep nurturing. And we confess we’ll never…we’ll never be able to do it in our own strength. We simply are not capable. And that's not what You're expecting. You're expecting that we would surrender to the fact that we can't do it and allow Your Holy Spirit to come and guide us. And our job isn't to figure everything out. Our job is to be submissive and surrender to You, trusting You, knowing that You will only lead us into the truth, knowing that You would never do something that would hurt us. Everything that You would do in our lives is only for our good always and forever. We trust You Lord. Come Holy Spirit we pray. In Jesus’ name we ask. Amen.

So, I worry about what might happen in the future and I don’t even know what to ask for. I just need help. Thank you.
Hello my name is Denise and I am a first time caller. I was recently diagnosed with Follicular non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and it’s been a month. I’m waiting to see an oncologist. But I’m really struggling and I’m scared and shocked and just really need prayer that I find the right doctors and I don’t have to have surgery because of an incident that took place during the biopsy. So, I just pray that they would get this going fast. I ask that you would all lift me in prayer and I thank you all and I pray and I lift you all in prayer daily. Thank you and God bless. Bye.
__ from Austin Texas. I received a phone call this morning letting me know that my grandma, the only grandparent I’ve ever actually had, passed away. I love God so much. His ways are perfect and I trust His will. You guys should too. I haven’t talked to anybody else about this. I wanted you guys to be the first people that I talked to. I’ve been listening to the Daily Audio Bible for two years now. This is my first time calling. I love everything that there is to love about the Daily Audio Bible, especially Brian’s words after he reads. But whether I’d like to admit it or not, my favorite part of the Daily Audio Bible is the community. You guys have changed my life. Continue to have faith in Christ. Thank you.
