Hi lovely people :)
Tumblr media
I'm a web developer and I'm currently learning Python. I used Aziraphale and Crowley's names to practice in one of the exercises. This one requires to write a program that works as a 'Love Calculator'.
This is way too fun :) Which names should I try?
Do you have any suggestions on what to do next?

Learn flexbox!
Although it is IMPOSSIBLE to ever get align-items vs justify-content right on the first try, getting familiar with how flexbox works will allow you to know at least one of them does what you want them to. If there's anything I've learned during my studies it's that development is much more about knowing you can do certain things and being able to google it when you don't know how, rather than having everything memorized. What you need to memorize you will memorize from practice, repetition and experience.
That being said: here are some (two) resources for learning flexbox!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Play Flexbox Froggy
This was such a huuuuuge help for me when learning flexbox. I completed all of the exercises once, and then I would use this as a guide and reference when trying to figure stuff out on my own projects. It's a great interactive way of learning, and it really simplifies and makes flexbox digestible. I recommend just crunching through it once, and you will be exposed to all the different ways of using flex! Then you will have in the back of your head what is possible with flex, and you will be able to recall this and maybe use the next resource to implement it if you don't remember all the keywords yourself!

CSS tricks - a complete guide to flexbox
This was recommended to me by a developer waaay back when i started studying, and it has saved me countless times. It's so good for referencing the different properties, with clear visual examples and a super easy-to-follow structure of the page. I have this bookmarked because of how often I use it.
Good luck in your studies 💻🐸

Doing my best to code every day now. Even if my motivation is a lil lacklustre. I have 6 months left to finish this particular traineeship and I've just started to bring some life to my LinkedIn profile in hopes that it will help me gain a remote position.
Long term goals are in action. ✅ Time to manifest my dreams by putting in the work!
*Insert Tangled "I've got a dream" song here 🤣*

Happy International Transgender Day of Visibility!!! 🏳️‍⚧️💚 I'm a bit late to the party, but that's pretty usual.
It's been almost 3 years since I first came out and I don't think I've done a transition timeline in all that time. This one is the first day I took HRT (7/27/21) to just last month (2/26/24). (Edit: I reversed the order.) If nothing else, I've gotten a little better at taking selfies in that time (I think).😅
I hope everyone had a wonderful day. I hope that the world becomes a kind enough place to let everyone be comfortable with who they are, and become who they want to be.
On a more personal/serious note.
I'm still looking for a job and looking to get out of my state. I'd be happy to start some remote work in web development (like I had been) so that I can move to another state with little issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I'm currently living in Arkansas. That means, come the time I'll need to renew my license, it will only cause more complications with moving and getting a job. I'll be forced to change my gender marker on it back because of an order from the governor. Looking at other southern states, the laws can only get worse this year, even if the worst of it will ultimately get blocked.
I'd like to be more hopeful this year, but things aren't looking good. I really wish I could focus long enough to do more stuff for the community, like I'd planned, but I've actually had too much on my mind with wanting to get out.
I really really hope things get better for everyone. We'll get there, eventually.

Software engineers and web developers both play critical roles in the tech industry, but their responsibilities and expertise differ.  Web developers, on the other hand, specialize in building and maintaining websites and web applications.

Programming
Tumblr media
Today is Programming day. I am not very excited about it, since it is going much harder and much slower as I expected. But we have to Work...
I am developing a website using Mudblazor. UI Is done but I can't show it here cause it is a private project. Now I have to connect the DB with the UI. The functions that interact with the DB are also ready, so all missing is the logic connecting both. And at this moment I realized how much my UI sucks, hahaha. But Blazor and Mudblazor are very interesting, I am also enjoying programming with c#. I tried developing games with it in Unity before, and it is a nice language. I mostly work with Swift because of my job, so I am happy to try something I can use outside apple environment since most of my devices aren't even apple. I have an iPhone and that's it, my laptop is a windows, android tablet, kindle, WSL, Xiaomi Band (nor very smart). I'll try any old tech you give me.
For those wondering how I can develop with Swift without a Mac, I do have a Mac from work, but it is not my personal Laptop and I don't have anything personal there. All my games and university stuff is in my Windows laptop.

Green Living Made Easy: Eco Shopping Tips
Live a Greener Life: Sustainable Shopping and Living Tips with Brandfinity
Brandfinity, a leading branding and marketing agency in India, is committed to promoting eco-conscious practices. In line with this mission, we present these valuable tips to help you make sustainable choices in your everyday shopping and living:
Embrace Sustainable Materials for Clothing and Home Goods:
Opt for eco-friendly options: Look for clothing and home goods made from organic cotton, hemp, or bamboo. These materials often require less water and fewer chemicals compared to conventional options.
Reduce waste, support circularity: Choose products made from recycled or upcycled materials. This not only minimizes waste but also promotes a circular economy where resources are reused.
Support Local and Organic Produce:
Reduce your carbon footprint: Opt for locally grown fruits and vegetables. This not only supports local farmers but also reduces the environmental impact of transportation.
Prioritize health and a healthy planet: Choose organic produce to avoid harmful pesticides and synthetic fertilizers that can negatively affect your health and the environment. Organic farming practices promote soil health, biodiversity, and water conservation.
Minimize Waste with Reusable Bags and Containers:
Ditch the plastic: Invest in reusable shopping bags made from durable materials like canvas or recycled materials. This eliminates the need for single-use plastic bags, significantly reducing waste.
Embrace reusables for bulk items: Utilize reusable containers when buying bulk items like grains, nuts, and spices. This eliminates the need for single-use packaging, further minimizing waste. Remember to wash and sanitize your reusable bags and containers regularly.
Champion Eco-Friendly Brands and Products:
Look for certifications: Support brands and products with certifications that showcase their environmental commitment, such as organic, fair trade, or cruelty-free labels. These certifications ensure adherence to specific standards and minimal harm to the environment and workers.
Sustainable practices matter: Choose brands that prioritize sustainability throughout their supply chain, from sourcing materials to manufacturing and packaging. By supporting these brands, you encourage more sustainable business practices with your purchasing power.
Embrace Sustainable Fashion with Second-Hand and Thrift Shopping:
Reduce demand, extend lifespans: Consider second-hand and thrift stores for unique and stylish clothing at affordable prices. This reduces the demand for new clothing production and gives pre-loved items a second chance.
Promote a circular fashion economy: By choosing second-hand fashion, you contribute to a circular economy by extending the lifespan of clothing and minimizing textile waste. Don't forget to donate or sell your own unwanted clothing to keep the cycle going!
Live a greener life, one sustainable choice at a time!
Partner with Brandfinity to craft an eco-conscious brand identity and marketing strategy that resonates with your sustainability goals. Visit us at https://brandfinity.ch/en/ to learn more.

Hi lovely people
I need help!
I'm a web/software developer. I'm autistic and one of my biggest difficulties is not being able to describe myself. I'd need to make a portfolio of my projects, describe myself, and let people know who they're hiring but the 'About' page is empty.
But how do you do that? How do you describe yourself? What's important? What's not?
Need help from autistic and neurotypical people.

March!
If you remember, my goal for the end of February was to have a figma prototype done for my portfolio...which i only remembered yesterday. So i hurridley mushed my idea together and this is some sort of first draft!
I was originally inspired by Obsidians spiderweb concept of linking one's notes together, as I wanted to kind of represent myself that way.
Tumblr media
And then this is the design I am going for:
(Censoring my name cause idk if i wanna doxx myself on here yet lol...)
I'm not completely sure about the fonts and minor details yet, but i am sure I wanna go with this spiderweb/solar system/circles kind of theme. Now the question remains how I'm actually gonna implement this in code, and how much i can manage to get done before april... I'm guessing it'll be a lot of position absolute, and I have an idea on how to make it responsive but we'll see how that turns out...
For now I'm glad I actually stuck to my goal and i am still in the "dream big" part of the project. I will be scaling down and concretizing as I go.
Now to do laundry and study some Next.js for my school client project (which is so chaotic lmao). Hope you're all doing well!! Remember to drink water and have your vitamins!! 💜(mostly a reminder to myself)
