crocodile has the most confusing jolly Roger that in the whole series. Like when you see the other Warlords Jolly Roger's they make sense and is mostly a representation of themselves but Crocodile one has wings and two blades (?)
He doesnt have wings or uses blades to fight so I'm interested to see if Oda will connect the dots and give it a meaning like there must be a reason why he chose that for Crocodile back in Arabasta instead of going for smth more simple
I mean there is a very simple reason to why Baroque Works' emblem doesn't reference its leader at all. It's because the leader's identity was a tightly kept secret for years. Nobody was meant to find out who Mr 0 truly was until after the coup was successfully completed. Putting a big ol' golden hook and/or a bananawani on the flag would've been great for Crocodile's personal branding, sure, but it would've also completely given away who was running the organization and gotten him in real deep shit
So like, everything else aside, Baroque Works could not have worked the way it did and gotten away with as much as they could had their very emblem revealed their boss' identity. Like that's 100% a question of practicality.
But also, yeah, that emblem isn't Crocodile's, it's not meant to represent him. It's about Baroque Works itself, the organization as a whole, and so it's likely whatever symbolism the emblem might have going for it reflects less about Crocodile and more his goals/what he wanted to achieve with the organization: a military nation powerful enough to oppose the World Governent. A "utopia". This is a terrible segue but I am fairly positive Crocodile would've had his own, proper jolly roger during his early pirating years too (which is why I don't even want to call the BW emblem a "jolly roger" really, it's the logo for an organization, not a pirate crew). One that he might've abandoned, along with whatever pirate crew he might've had once upon a time.
