Why does everybody think capybaras are so chill. Every capybara I've ever interacted with has been one withheld orange slice away from committing a homicide

#capybara #I used to work at a petting zoo #We had three capybaras and had to keep them separate because the females would try to kill each other #I've watched them charge wallabies just for getting in their space #One time a lady brought in a little dog (which for some reason they were allowed to do if they keep them in their arms the whole time)#(she didn't)#The capy decided that dog needed to die and did its absolute best to make it that way #Fortunately the staff saw it and managed to intervene before anything serious happened #But the capy was not happy #I don't trust capybaras. They look chill but they're full of rage
