Thinking about casual and oblivious of their own behavior waycest.

They sit basically on top of each other, touches that are a little too intimate for siblings, kisses on the cheek that get a little too close to the corners of mouths. There’s never been any actual sex between them, and they don’t consider what they’re doing to be incest. They’re just close, like brothers should be, is what they tell everyone who questions them on how they act.

They sleep in the same bed on hotel nights, and if both of them are in just their boxers; cuddling like a couple would, then no one says anything, because they’ve learned to stop asking. People can see how they act, hear what they say, and watch what their behavior becomes when they get jealous; but the brothers never do. They think it’s just because they care about each other, that this is normal. They don’t see how their actions can be read as anything more than platonic, they just love each other more than anyone else ever could.

Thinking about when Mikey gets married to Kristen and her knowing that if it came down to it, Mikey would pick Gerard over her every time. Her knowing that there’s not a world where she comes first in his mind, always second best to his big brother. Mikey being oblivious to this fact, thinking that everything is fine and wonderful, too wrapped up in being a father to notice how his wife looks at him and his brother.

Thinking about how Gerard still calls Mikey his baby brother well into their 40’s. Mikey returns his affections, always calling him big brother. No one really understands them, but that’s fine, they have each other and that’s all they really need. If the world ended tomorrow, as long as it ended with them in each others arms, they would die happy.

I don't have words for how good these snarky assholes are together. DaveRose is brain chemistry changing. They both put up so many fronts, and engage in so much snarky wordplay, and are constantly trying to get under each other's facade. They play off each other so well, witty and sharp, I need them to be together always
