For some reason, I decided that it would be extremely funny for Belos to lose his remaining external ear by having it just... fall off. Or he’s scratching around it because it’s all dried out and itchy and he accidentally flings it.

On to a table. In front of “everyone”.

He and Hunter just owlishly blink at it for a beat while they figure out “Oh, there’s no Titan’s blood; no one’s in danger”.

Then everyone else around them just start screaming and freaking out while the father and son just shrug it off and try to move on but everyone else is panicking and come on guys it’s fine and No Cutburn I do NOT need to go to the Healing wing!

“Did you make this yourself?” Hunter asked, admiring the invitation. “It’s so pretty!” He was never going to get all the glitter out of his gloves, was he?

“We’ve also heard that you officially became a big sister.” Belos went on. “Congratulations.”

It was rare the Golden Guard lost his temper and the traits he had inherited and learned from the Emperor came out. But that was exactly what had just happened in the room the teen stormed out of. He didn’t care if the adults he left behind couldn’t figure out how to get rid of the Titan Flesh amalgamations that sprung up around his seat after he had to retrieve his staff and slam it on the floor to get their attention. It was their fault anyway.

Hunter tried to just breathe but he could feel how his throat was closing up and tears coming into his eyes due to the still burning anger and years of frustration and the realization he was alone and no one took him seriously-

He perked up straighter and swallowed all that back when he heard someone hurrying to catch up behind him.

“What is it?” He didn’t bother turning around.

...I think I wrote about this before somewhere, but eh, I’ve been thinking about it again and am too lazy to go looking.

Just... While my Belos isn’t as bad as canon!Belos, he still isn’t ‘the good guy’. He’s done A LOT of bad shit for his goals that runs parallel to what canon!Belos has done. The difference is more that my Belos is more apathetic than hateful in his motivation. He’s just too worn down and emotionally stunted to care much about the bad shit he’s doing if it’s meeting the ends. And he knows he’s the bad guy, and in a lot of his past lifetimes he would hate himself. But he just... Can’t care about what he’s doing.

Hunter kinda falls into a grey area because yes, he is an empathetic person. But his main goals have always been protecting and helping his Dad. In combination with being a child still (technically) as well as the amount of work he has, he just doesn’t think too much about the harm the system and himself are doing. He’s more complicated, but he will admit the current system and society is doing harm and he recognizes he is ‘the bad guy’ as well.

I don’t know. Just thinking about it again.

ooc: Listen. The fact that canon!Hunter loves wolves so much is so important to the Mun. Because she was the weird wolf girl growing up and still loves them SO MUCH.

...So that part of canon can be added to this blog. My Hunter also loves wolves and one of his silly dreams is if he ever gets the chance to safely visit the Human Realm and not be set on fire is to go see them in Yellowstone.

Another difference between Canon!Hunter and my Hunter-

My Hunter is/was let out of the Castle on missions a lot more than Canon!Hunter. I was just reminded that in ‘Thanks to them’, Canon!Hunter mentions he only went on missions outside of the Castle on weekends. Well, that doesn’t make sense for my Hunter since one of the things he needs to do for both his current job and for the future is make and maintain connections with community leaders and vendors. So he has been outside the Castle on missions a lot.

He’s still sort of stunted when interacting with people his own age, but like I had mentioned before, he has enough access to media for people his age that he knows how to fake it just enough to get by.

"Wha- Pammy?" Hunter had to do a double take when he realized his baby cousin was in fact sat on top of the fridge he had been about to open. If anyone asked, he hadn't immediately noticed because he was just distracted (not sleep deprived again nope) and just thinking of what snack he wanted.

"How on Titan did you get up there?!" Hunter asked, slightly concerned but not as much as he would be if it was a non-Abomination magic talented toddler. "Why are you up there?"

“Did you ask Howell and Darius for permission before you made that change?” Belos asked. “...Where did you get those from, anyway? Did you make them yourself, or...?”

“Aren’t these a kind of Human Realm candy?” Hunter piped up, examining one of the little boxes he found on the floor post wedding.

“Hehehehe, did anyone catch the nerds and skittles I threw at the wedding? So much better than boring flowers.”

Hunter was trying to focus on the paper work he needed to get done while waiting for Luz to read and reply, but he kept glancing away and almost glaring at the scroll. When it did go off, he pounced on it. He frowned a little as he read her texts. More so at the last one.

[txt] You know you could have just shoot me a couple texts to tell me you wanted to talk. Or give me a warning before kicking in the Castle doors. Right?

“KIKIMORA!” The Golden Guard’s voice violently boomed and echoed down the hall. The teen was quickly approaching the little demon, and it was certainly a rare sight to see. Hunter did what he could to keep his emotions under control, even if he was upset or mad. Now though, Emperor Belos’ son was ANGRY. And the cold, icy fury radiating off of him was eerily familiar to anyone who had been in the throne room when the Ruler of the Isles was especially displeased.

The fact that the Golden Guard wasn’t willing to wait to have this confrontation in some place more private was also a warning sign of what was to come.
