Huh
Interesting
I was watching Kengineer's 3rd solo playthrough episode last night when this quote from the Lotus popped up during the Once Awake quest, and it got me thinking about 1999.
1999 is when the Infestation pretty much shows up for the first time (at least as far as we know), which places the Radiation Wars after 1999 (of course).
...but how long after?
Now idk how old this Lotus quote is and whether it's in the devs' minds at all, but imagine that the Radiation Wars are directly after 1999, sparked by this recent apocolyptic infestation spreading all of a sudden.
Imagine the 1999 quest ends with nuclear armageddon, perhaps even on New Year's. We make that final New Year's kiss (or not), knowing that the people here are doomed to die (though they were probably doomed to die to the helminth strain inside them at some point anyways).
I imagine in this scenario that for the sake of replayable 1999 gameplay (and maybe even the opportunity to change romance routes) that this time fragment of 1999 we find ourselves in repeats indefinitely, always ending in the beginning of the Radiation Wars.
would be pretty funny i think

I still have a lotta lore questions about these two besties. DE, answer these, or I will send a decapitated Excalibur plushy head on an Erra body- Red Wedding style- to your office. Your actions have consequences and I will be fucked with a chainsaw before I let my questions go unanswered (for the long run) 馃槑
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. So, with Shadow being besties with ol man Hugh, have his ideologies about the Orokin changed? I mean, Hunhow must've rubbed some of his anti-fascist opinions onto him, surly...
2. Using the idea that he's a sentient Warframe, does he remember his past? Does he know what Mr AssBalls did to him? Is he thinking about finding his dust particals and doing the warframe equivalent of t-bagging them?
3. Will we get him as a playable Warframe in the future, considering that he and the Drifter aren't too hateful of each other?
4. If Shadow is just someone in a transference loop... whomst be he? We know he was a low guardian, but just how low can he go? Was he a Limbo master?
5. Do they be fuckin?
Tumblr media
I have more questions that must be answered- especially about this duo- but for now, I shall ponder in silence and art...
I await your response, DE...
Also, this post was inspired by this post right here :3

An underdeveloped aspect of Warframe's lore, in my opinion, is the Tenno Schools. We know pretty little about them, just that they're philosophies the Tenno aligned themselves with during the Old War, that guided how individual Tenno acted in opposition to the Sentients. We know the basics of their philosophies, but we don't know how they developed, who inspired them (was it the Dax? were they similarly divided?), and how their teachings were actually implemented. Something that a lot of people seem to forget is that the Schools originally had nothing to do with Void Powers, as we didn't know how to use those back in the Old War. The current Focus Schools are distinct from the old Tenno Schools - we're using the teachings of the Tenno schools to guide our Void abilities.
But...what if the Schools, instead of merely being philosophies, "schools of thought", they were actual educational establishments? What sort of things would they teach that aligned with their philosophies?
Madurai encourages you to Engage the Enemy. The in-game description claims the members of the school were known for "swift, uncompromising onslaught, holding nothing back and recklessly attacking their foes". To me, that lends itself to a school which teaches weapon use, especially high powered firearms and sharp, fast, bladed weapons. A combined firearm and sword school. I feel like they probably invented Gunblades.
Vazarin is the school of Countering the enemy, supposedly "moving with an opponent's attacks to nullify them". This, to me, suggests an emphasis on ambush tactics, as well as self-defence and possibly medical training. It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of Tenno aligned with this school utilised Trinity and Oberon warframes.
Naramon followers are supposed to Know the Enemy. They're described as tacticians. This school positively bleeds a more scholastic approach to combat, and so I feel like they would teach modding, specifically how to mod for particular situations, as well as stealth skills, for the purposes of information gathering.
Unairu is the school of Outlasting the enemy, to be a bulwark against the tide. Their schooling would emphasise defensive skills, likely a combination of establishing physical obstacles to impede enemies and provide cover, and setting up defences for vulnerable targets. If you want to learn how to fortify an Ostron village against Sentient or Grineer invasion, you go to Unairu.
Finally, Zenurik is the school of Dominating the Enemy. Their classes focus on precise, strong strikes against weak points and supply lines, as well as heavy ordinance and powerful weapons. Polearms, staves, rocket launchers and explosives are their wheelhouse. I also like to think they'd be a tech school, developing several of the Tenno weapons, as well as some of the mods used for specific situations. Augment mods seem like something they'd be a fan of making.

I think something not talked about in warframe enough is how in lore the Grineer are STRONG af, and if you want like a scale for that
THIS:
Tumblr media
And THIS:
Tumblr media
Are equal
The base grineer trooper is insanely strong, capable as a soilder, armored like crazy and able to move just fine despite that.
Remember and this is after the YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS OF CLONING CAUSING THEM TO WEAKEN
Remember a orokin era grineer slave straight up KILLED A SENTIENT WITH A SHOVEL WHICH CHANGED THE TIED OF WAR AND ITS IMPLIED IT WAS JUST ONE HIT
Which is why warframes are absolutely terrifying because they are basically impervious to bullets that can make a grineer trooper into swiss cheese, and are able to swing blunt weapons hard enough to kill multiple of those guys in one swimg, think about how impossible to kill a warframe would be in our modern day, and thats not even talking about frames like Nova, who can CONTROL ANTI MATTER WITH HER MIND, or something like Atlas who punched a ASTEROID THAT COULD WIPE OUT EARTH SEVERAL TIMES OVER INTO HARMLESS RUBLE hell theres mag who can just magnetize at will including the BONES OF PEOPLE WHICH CAUSES THEM TO JSUT FOLD INTO THEMSELVES
And not even addressing how fast they are and that they're near immune to all damage or the devil child they have controlling them thats 100 years old and their trained to perfection when it comes to murder.
Like just some grineer troops would be terrifying in our modern day but just a Exalibur would be a nightmare reality and near unkillable outside of landing a tank round on the thing that can probably slice a tank in half or has a gun that can kill things that are tank like thats the size of a rifle.
Like the strength of Warframes is genuinely so scuffed, its like 52 different versions of goku sent to fight toddlers who were told they can do it

Just had a terrifying thought, what if Ordis wasn't being hyperbolic?
In the secret Cephalon fragment recordings Ordis says he's killed enough people to create "a colossal moon of rib and skull". He was probably exaggerating but what if he wasn't?
The mass of the smallest moon in the solar system, Deimos, is roughly 1.5脳1015 kg. The average human weighs around 70 kg. Doing the math that's roughly 21 trillion people killed to make this corpse moon.
This is an incredibly large number but honestly isn't entirely impossible.
For starters he wouldn't have had to do this all immediately, people in Warframe live for an incredibly long time. Darvo is 105 and is considered to be a teenager. If we assume Darvo is roughly 18 in our years then it's entirely possible he would've 4 to 5 centuries to complete his genocide rock.
Now about kill counts. During the Solaris United ARG it's stated that the Tenno killed 7 million Corpus in 3 hours. In order to reach 20 trillion corpses in 500 years Ordis would need to double that kill count. It certainly isn't possible for him to do it all personally but given that he was the Commander of a mercenary company distinguished enough to have one of its members offered the kuva it's possible he could've indirectly caused that many deaths with armies, bombs, starvation tactics, and other means.
Since he did this during the Height of the Orokin age which sees the Origin System as severely overpopulated its possible there were this many people around for him to kill.

Sometimes I'm reminded of how little we actually *know* about Warframe's lore.
This is a Tenet showing the founding of Corposium by Parvos Granum. The capital city of the Corpus. The birthplace of the cult and its founder.
We don't even know what planet it's on.

...Could we get the lore of your tenno, especially the one with the wooden arch in their hair? Pretty please?
Omg it's been a while.
Glow is my main Tenno! The arch like you said in her hair is actually horns! Void horns! They're a result of an excess of void energy emanating from them, and it's in her case, horns! (Somehow that lore of hers perfectly fit the aesthetic of Void Angels when they came out so it's a win-win!) The horns' shape and size depends on the density of void energy and much like antlers, Glow sheds them from time to time, either naturally when they get too big or when there's a sudden cut of void energy. For example, that happened when the Heart of Deimos stopped and all that biz. She's part of the Red Veil and was a former Corpus collaborator close to Nef Anyo because of shared history but things got more complicated especially since the Scarlet Spear operation and the whole New War. Her current goals are to discover more about the Great Indifference while avoiding her Drifter counterpart. She doesn't really like that part of herself or knowing that through Eternalism she could encounter more versions of herself. Will beat up any high ranked Orokin in a heartbeat.
Also her horns aren't the only bodily modification she has. She has void appendages sprouting from her back following her spine and serve as extra limbs. Length and size depend on her needs and the amount of void energy like with her horns.

Sometimes I just log into Warframe to talk to father. He brings me not as much happiness as my actual father does, but it comes close.
Nobody can tell me that this man isn't adorable when he says stuff like this:
"Wish I could be there to see you open this."
And every time he says something like "Don't tell mother" it reminds me of when my dad would secretly give me a piece of chocolate or candy (I wasn't allowed to eat any sweets because my mum had an irrationally strong fear of me getting diabetes).
I really wish we would learn more about his previous life; it would tell us so much about Orokin society simce he probably wasn't born Orokin.

Palladino, Rell, & the Indifference
Just throwing this out into the void as I see many people chatting about the nature of the Man in the Wall.
Palladino, to me, is one that knows this being very well (best being Rell) as we see from her dialogue. She is the one to use the term 'indifference' for example. She knows about the Man in the Wall, unlike the Lotus. The priestess knew of Rell's mission and purpose.
I bring this all up for these quotes here:
"He commanded we chain it within the depths of the sacred temple. An eternal vigil against the Indifference."
"This isn't some kind of deep pressure bends as Margulis suspected. Rell saw what it was, truly. An entity, indifferent. Old as stars."
There can be a whole conversation about indifference but for now just wanted to share that.
------------------
As an aside, Palladino even knows Lotus' secret, a hint that she knows quite a lot about a great deal many things. The priestess may be one of the most knowledged in the whole system as far as we know.

Jade Shadows spoilers, just some lore thoughts and theorizing
I wonder if Jade was used for most high-order jade light executions and was the soul source of it, or if she was just an extension of an already existing technology. Before, I used to think the jade light was from some kind of device, but if it's been Jade this whole time at the source that has implications.
Of course, even if she was the source of jade light, it must have been harnessed in devices to allow for remote executions and portability, like on the Zariman and with the Myrmidon. So she wouldn't have had to perform all executions herself in person when even just her residual power is enough to power Parvos' jade eximus units.
But Parvos referring to Jade as an executioner might imply that she was used to perform at least some executions personally, and I imagine those would have been the executions performed in front of the Seven.
Like Margulis.
And if they needed a Tenno operator to control Jade, that would effectively have been using a Zariman kid to kill their adoptive mother using Jade, a victim of Ballas' warframe project during pregnancy.
holy fuck
Edit: Though there's also reason to believe that Jade wouldn't have been the one to execute Margulis because it may have required the use of a Tenno operator, which I can't imagine would go well. But there's still a bit of vagueness around whether Jade needed an operator, similar to how there's vagueness around whether Stalker needs one.
Edit 2 (July 2024): go behind teshin there's new jade lore go go go

It cannot be overstated just how goddamn patient Margulis was. We don't hear about her often, but she had to put up with both the Infant Tenno, and friggin Ballas, at the same time... whilst blind!
Legendary mom right there, unbeatable, maybe better than the Lotus even!

So some of the Zariman question tablets that were added to Duviri in the Seven Crimes of Kullervo update actually answer a lot of questions I, and a few others, has about the book that the realm was based on, Tales of Duviri.
The first big question was why the hell was Euleria Entrati writing what seems to be a children's book? Well, the answer is actually pretty interesting. Tales of Duviri was written as a tool for Void explorers to use to help regulate their emotions while their Void exposure wore off. It was simplistically written so that a mind that was unstable at best would be able to follow the story, and recognise how to avoid their own emotions going out of control.
The second big question was "Is Dominus Thrax king of Duviri in the book, or did we create him?". The answer to this seems to be both. The character of Dominus Thrax does appear as the king of Duviri in Tales of Duviri. His design appears to be based on our doll, but the character does appear in the book. That being said, it's possible, although not confirmed, that initially we filled the role of Thrax, before passing the throne to the character.
The third question is why Euleria was the one to write the book, and that's pretty simple to answer. She was one of, if not the, most prominent Archimedian in the Void Research field. She was in charge of most of the Void expeditions. As such, the explorers were her responsibility, and so she wrote the book to help them regain their sanity while they were in their Isolation Vaults.
There are some more things I want to discuss, based on the Zariman tablets, but I'll save those for another post.
