Hello, what do you think will happen to Wakasa, Wakita and Kuroda now?

I think that Wakita will start to make moves towards Kudo Shinichi, since we ended on him emphasizing the importance of figuring out the hidden effects of APTX4869 prototype (File 1109), and he is yet to figure out Kudo Shinichi's whereabouts despite his many attempts.

Wakasa will most likely continue her surveillance of Haibara, after recently figuring out her identity. I could see her eventually getting involved in protecting Shinichi against Rum when he decides to make his move, since she knows that Kudo Shinichi is a fellow victim like Haneda Kohji and her mother figure Amanda of APTX4869 posion, that survived. I think she will however still keep her distance from Team Shin-chan.

As for Kuroda, since his quality time with Conan (File 1106-1109), I could see him getting involved in protecting Conan as well, but not necessarily just against the BO/Rum, but also from Furuya's investigation. Kuroda has probably realized that Furuya is keeping things hidden from him (File 1115), so I could see Kuroda intervening and having Furuya stop following the order from Falcon elder (who is most likely FPM Ōoka) by helping come up with a cover story. I expect him to also resolve Wakasa's misunderstanding of him being from the BO.

Detective Conan Rewatch: Episode 1077-1079

Episode 1077-1079: “The Black Organization's Scheme”

Before watching this episode, on a scale of 1-10, how much are you looking forward to seeing it again?

Favorite moment:

Epic. I know Camel’s driving was epic too, but this is quite the finisher to this case. Love how Conan and Akai play it off too afterwards in regards to fishing.

Least favorite moment:

Quite the opening scene from Gin. Just more reminders that Gin is probably still the scariest opponent Conan will need to eventually face.

What’s one thing you noticed/realized about this episode that you hadn’t before?

I forgot there’s more than one way to romanize Japanese--I’m so used to Hepburn romanization I forgot. ._.; (Also been awhile since I’ve seen this case in the manga, so forgot that was the oopsie Jodie made.)

And there it is. I think before this case in the manga I was leaning towards Kuroda, but I also never did enough studying and research to properly look for the clues leaning to one character or another. ^^; The ridiculous name “Kanenori Wakita” is an anagram for one of Rum’s phrases, “Time is Money”.

does conan already know that wakita is RUM?

Conan has shown carefulness around Wakita in terms of what he lets on around him and given him serious/pondering stares since his revealed thoughts that correlated Wakita's covered left eye with Rum's description (File 975).

These could have been fueled by how Conan witnessed Wakita being nosy in Kudo Shinichi's neighborhood just after the BO paranoia from the Shinichi news got high (File 1008).

The first case he showed it was in File 1056-1057, when Conan showed worriness over the amount of praise he got near him, as well as him having a "..." moment when Wakita played down his capabilities.

The second case was File 1100, when Conan gave a serious stare as soon as Wakita showed up and then feighed ignorance about Wakasa when he was asked if he noticed something.

These behaviors are very consistent with when Conan usually suspects someone to be more than what they seem. While it's still unknown what exactly he is thinking, It's definitely not a stretch to speculate that he is viewing Wakita as a potential threat, and that he could indeed be Rum, especially after he recently concluded that Wakasa, his main Rum suspect, was not Rum and rather the innocent bodygaurd Asaka (File 1109).
