you know i think the only good tumblr poll final result was cecil winning tumblr sexyman its been downhill from there cuz that was like a fun throwback it was like a guy you wouldnt expect to be the consensus favorite kind of a dark horse candidate tbh really shook the whole bracket up guy we hadnt thought about in years but all subsequent large tournaments large polls and so on its literally just who is the most inoffensive the broad appeal the blandness oh the evil villain poll its always some rando from a childrens cartoon whos greatest crime is kicking a gumdrop everyone votes for utena and xena yet does not watch the shows we pretend to support women and yet... nowhere but the polls i guess in many ways this is like watching the nba playoffs the earlier weirder matchups are more interesting before things settle out and u realize the fantasy of ur favorite weird 6 seed team making it to the conference finals is not real and will never be real and its always going to be the same teams and so on this is actually teaching tumblr what its like to be sports fans no vriska will never win finals mvp and the mystics will get knocked out in the first round :(

sorry to talk about something nobody here cares about but if I engage on Twitter I'll explode. The WNBA was fine last year and the year before and the year before. more viewership is good but some people are acting like women's basketball didn't exist before they personally started caring about it. More viewers ultimately means nothing if they only care about Caitlin Clark and don't care about (or actively disrespect) the other players who have been excelling at the sport for years before her. If you only care about the WNBA for one player you don't care about the league or the sport and you shouldn't act like you have more authority than the rest of us. People who were saying horrible misogynistic things about the WNBA a handful of months ago suddenly act like they're the saviors of the league because one woman was good enough and got popular enough that they respect her. Shut!!! Up!!!!!!

i mean, i feel like brondello wouldn't be so irrational that she wouldn't play han outside of garbage time? i do understand the exaggeration tho, i was watching the game against the dream today and thinking that it would be nice to give han some playing time bc dolson was kinda not helping and han would have a pretty big height advantage. Sandy's excuse for not really playing han was something like "getting the rotations figured out" but... why not play her more to see if she should stick around in the rotation... esp earlier when jonquel was on a minutes restriction...

(i understand playing dolson bc vet and winning now and whatever and her contract would be an albatross if she got dnps but. why not develop some of your young talent bc im pretty sure stewie and sloot's contracts are pretty short. think abt the long term a little 😭)

heard a theory that sandy isn't developing han bc australia plays china in fiba which. if so i need joe tsai to make a call. bc that's some petty shit. like that feels illegal and i would have many questions if i were the owner of a team. especially since last season han showed a ton of promise and it just feels like a disservice to see her on the bench bc the team suddenly shifted in a different direction (also like. pretty sure the coaching staff had compared her to BG at one point?? so why not play her like that)

Obviously garbage time lineups aren't something that will be consistently run but it was kind of interesting that the Liberty played Sabally and Han together, that's a pretty big lineup on the floor.

been a ionescu fan for a while, sloot move makes sense if you have sab as the secondary ball handler and give control of the offense to sloot. it’d be like a step up of the offense that was run at oregon with maite cazorla in her senior year. sloot sab naj jj and another player doesn’t really make sense defensively for me though

sabrina definitely does work well at the 2, but to maximize her skills she still needs to kinda run the offense while doing that. and sloot needs to run the offense in order to maximize *her* skills. just because sab's a good 2 doesn't mean that any style of PG at the 1 makes sense. she's still very ball-dominant as a 2

i think you could put them on the floor together and do some pretty great things on offense, but it won't get the full potential out of either of them. just feels like a waste i guess? i think NY's money would be better spent elsewhere, but there aren't a ton of good PG free agents on the market

totally agree on defense, though. depends on who the other forward is, but it feels a bit shaky
