World Meteorological Organization State of the Climate 2023 Report: Newly Released for COP28
Yet another report released for COP28.
Provisional State of the Climate 2023
By WMO (World Meteorological Organization)
https://wmo.int/sites/default/files/2...
An awesome report that lets you know what climate mayhem is occurring around the globe this year. Report covers global atmospheric temperatures, global ocean temperatures throughout water depths, global sea level rise, marine heat waves, ocean acidification, Ocean Heat Content, Greenland and Antarctica Ice Sheet and Sea Ice loss, mountain glacier loss, GHG levels and rates of rise, extreme heat wave events, precipitation anomalies, and that much more.
Your go-to report for climate in 2023.
Average of five independent datasets shows that global average near surface temperature is 1.40 C above the pre-industrial 1850 to 1900 baseline (I call it Baseline 2). Error bars are 0.12 C, so my earlier videos on 1.54 C GISS dataset estimate is essentially within the error; we will know on early 2024 since this year is still happening.
WMO data is “to October”. What does this mean? Does it mean to October 1st or to October 31st? Anybody know what the WMO means? How do you interpret this. It makes a difference since Oct, Nov, Dec likely to be at 1.7, and can pull 2023 over 1.5 C for all datasets.
Please donate to http://PaulBeckwith.net to support my research and videos as I connect the dots on abrupt climate system mayhem.
