#WMMAP is its biggest moneymarker BY FAR and lately they have mismanaged it so badly

Cancellation of WMMAP's volumes 8-9 limited edition

Previously announced limited version (cancelled) vs Available normal version. No merch or box included in the normal version, just 4 prints (2 of them taken from the Mofun collaboration café).

Wanted to give a quick update about the bad news here. Carrotoon (WMMAP's publisher) confirmed after korean fans reached out to them via email that there won't be a special limited edition for WMMAP's last two volumes. No explanation was given nor did they offer any apologies.

It's terrible that fans won't get the limited edition after Carrotoon had previously announced it, but what's even worse is the disrespect towards Spoon. She drew 20+ illustrations for the tarot cards and the Ijekiel standee, only for her work to be wasted. All of that, while her physical and mental health have deteriorated significantly. It's no secret that webtoon artists are badly exploited and paid unfairly in the industry, the companies facing zero consequences for their mistreatment. It seems like Carrotoon is no different.

Spoon has also stated that she doesn't know when the side stories will be released, and said fans could only ask Carrotoon, meaning that it's the company who is delaying their publication. It's unclear when (or even if) Carrotoon will publish them, but during these months Spoon has been the subject of some pretty nasty comments over this matter, and she has mostly disappeared from social media. It's of note that volume 9 does not include the side stories.

I can't be certain if Carrotoon has financial issues, but that doesn't seem to be the case, as they release merch and limited editions for their other webtoons constantly. WMMAP is Carrotoon's biggest webtoon by far, so it's baffling and appalling to see them treat the series and its creator so badly, while also being dishonest with the fans.

I would recommend not buying from this company in the future.
