Keeho loves a good long bubble bath, and if he’s sharing it with you, it makes him feel like heaven. He doesn’t prepare those baths very often as they’re not that practical but, at least once a month, he would go all out to transform your bathroom into a romantic spot for you two to have a well-deserved relaxing night. Expect candles, rose petals, fancy bath bombs and music from Keeho’s previously-made playlist playing on the background. After tiring and stressful days, a moment like this is exactly what both of you need — resting in each other’s arms, not with anything sexual in mind, just wanting to unwind for a while. The water is at a perfectly warm temperature when you go in, making you both let out a sigh of content. He wouldn’t waste a moment to pull you close and hug you, closing his eyes and thinking he would melt at any moment because of how much pleasure he was feeling. After taking turns to soap and shampoo each other, you’d start playing with the bubbles around you and placing them on each other’s face, creating bubble beards and wigs. The room would be quickly filled with laughter, but you also enjoy moments of quiet talks as you lay in each other’s arms and share sweet nothings. You would stay like that until the water isn’t warm anymore and Keeho steps out first to grab a towel to wrap you in, not willing to let you be cold for not even a second.

You are the first person Theo ever lets go near his well-organized closet, and also, the first person he allows to borrow some of his clothes. If you ever let drop that you think one of his jackets is cool, he’s already handing it to you, encouraging you to wear it next time. Or if he catches you admiring one of his necklaces, he’d immediately go behind you and move your hair to the side to put the piece of jewellery around your neck. Sometimes, he would forget some of his comfiest sweaters at your place, secretly hoping you would wear them next time he sees you — he wouldn’t be able to avoid the grin on his face if you do. He just can’t help thinking you look the cutest when you’re wearing something of his, and he always tells you he thinks his clothes fit you better than they fit himself. Even if it’s just a simple white oversized shirt he has lent you to sleep, he wouldn’t hesitate to say that you look beautiful. Your fashion styles are pretty similar, so he also finds your stuff cool, to the point he would ask you for permission to wear some of your items as well. If he’s honest, he loves when you go out wearing his clothes and vice versa, taking into account that your relationship is not public yet. It is a way to hint that you’re together and also a way to feel connected to one another when you’re apart. On times when he’s away on tour, he would take one of your sweatshirts with him, just so he can bury his nose in it and inhale your perfume to bring him comfort when he misses you the most.

Even before dating you, Jiung was very into nail art and then, he would always compliment the designs you got every month. He didn’t know you did your own nails at home, so he was thrilled when he found out. You had a pretty decent set of tools, to be honest — from different types of brushes to a little led lamp, all of which made Jiung’s eyes lit up when you showed him. After a couple of times seeing you do your nails in awe, he would ask you to try and paint them for you. He would be incredibly excited throughout the whole process, which would start with looking through hundreds of inspo pics together until you find one you like. He would sit across from you and take your hand in his, smiling at how soft it is. He knows your skin is quite delicate, so he would be extra careful when filing your nails, always making sure it isn’t painful. It melts your heart seeing how concentrated he is in doing each nail perfectly and how he keeps holding your hand gently, almost as if it would break if he wasn’t paying attention. Once he’s done, your eyes widen at how good the result is — you know he has really good taste when it comes to nail art, but it seems like you got your nails done at a salon. He would blush and play it down after seeing your amazed reaction, and would agree right away when you offer to paint his nails as well so you can match. After that, he wouldn’t stop showing off his nails with a proud grin on his lips.

➳ Intak ┊ 황인탁

Every time you’re getting your make-up done to go out, Intak would be glued to your side from the moment you enter the bathroom and stand in front of the mirror. He knows it takes you a while, so he thinks why not keeping you company — this way, he gets to do his favorite thing, which is admiring your face. Leaning onto the bathroom counter, he would be mesmerized by the whole process and he wouldn’t be able to keep his big puppy-like eyes off your features. He wonders how do you not get confused with so many products, brushes and steps to follow, so he keeps on asking you what each thing is for. He is truly impressed when you swiftly do your eyeliner, amazed by how sharp it is and how easy you make it look. He won’t shut up about how good it’s looking and how pretty you look, making you so flustered that you end up getting distracted, which makes him earn a slap on the shoulder. On days when you’re not in a hurry, you even let him try and put some of the make-up on you. You smile at how he unsuccessfully tries to hide his excitement, but he soon changes his expression into a full-focused one as he comes closer to your face, one hand holding the brush and the other softly grabbing your chin, to apply your blush. He’s seen you do it many times so he’s confident in doing it properly, and it actually surprises you how well he’s doing it. He doesn’t step back when he finishes; instead, he pecks your nose to not mess up your make-up and whispers that you look stunning one more time.

➳ Soul ┊ 白翔太

Shota used to get really impatient and pouty whenever you washed your hair, because that meant it would take you so long to dry and brush it properly. He would always grow tired of waiting alone and, not being able to stay apart for that long, he turned blow-drying your hair into a habit. Once you get out of the bathroom, your hair still wet and wrapped in a towel, he would be already sitting on the bed with the hairdryer in his hand, waiting for you to sit in front of him. Usually, he’s very playful when it comes to your hair, and he would spend hours playing with it and styling it in the weirdest ways possible, if you let him. But in times like this, you notice how he’s so much more gentle from the moment he unwraps the towel and turns on the hairdryer. He makes sure the air doesn’t come out too hot and doesn’t waste a second to start combing his fingers through your locks, being careful not to tangle them. He always lets his fingers linger for an extra second, not being able to hide how much he adores the softness and sweet scent of your hair. Little does he know that while he’s running his fingers through your hair, you’re trying your best not to fall asleep because of how relaxed it’s making you feel. Once he’s done, he comes closer behind you to press a kiss on the top of your head, and you turn around to pepper his face with kisses to say thank you, making him giggle.

➳ Jongseob ┊ 김종섭

You and Jongseob share a deep love for books and, at the beginning of your relationship, you found out that your taste is very similar, so reading together naturally became a usual activity for you. Whenever you two happen to have some free time, you would be laying together on the couch with a book in your hands, the only sound coming from your steady breaths. You would never be too far from each other — sometimes your hands would be interlocked, or he would have one arm around you making you partially lay on him, and other times he would rest his head on your lap. This would give you free access to his hair, so you always end up running your fingers absentmindedly through his locks, which gives him goose bumps. There are days when Jongseob comes home and softly asks you to read out loud for him, and you would never say no. Listening to your voice is his favorite way of relaxing after a tiring day, and he loves that he gets to stare at your face for as long as he wants while you read. He would hold you close and play with your hair as he keeps his loving gaze on you. You would pretend not to notice his eyes on you the entire time, not even when they lower to your lips. Not long after, he would steal a kiss, and then a couple more, each one longer and deeper than the other, until the book would be put aside and you would be fully focused on the make out session he had smoothly started.

I just want to say, before anything else, that I love your blog! It's so helpful to me when I write things. I'm also sorry for how long this ask is going to be. I normally ask anonymously but it won't let me put the photo in.

I really like this hanfu set but I don't know exactly what dynasty it's from, or even if it's actually historically accurate.

I also wanted to ask about the hanfu from Flourished Peony, and how accurate they are. Specifically that one pink round-collar hanfu Mudan wears when she's getting flowers from the mountain that I thought was a men's item, rather than a women's one.

Sorry about the long ask!

Going to answer both of these together since they're about the same show.

About the hanfu in the picture, this is a Ruqun (襦裙) set from the Weijin. The biggest giveaway is the stripe at the sleeves (it looks like 2 stripes but I have another pic of this outfit and you can see it's actually 1 decorative stripe with two bright borders). Also, if you look at this pic below with it untucked in the skirt, you can kind of see that there's a horizontal piece of fabric along the waist area.

If you take a look at my post about the Ruqun (here) you'll see an artefact that's very similar.

For Flourished peony, I'm only going to comment on the hanfu as I don't have enough knowledge about Tang dynasty hair or makeup right now to make any judgements. I'm also not looking at the patterns on the fabrics, I'm literally only looking at the styles of the clothing themselves.

Disclaimer, I haven't watched the show. These photos are from Google and Baidu promotional pics, and I did click through a few eps to take screencaps.

And if anyone has a screencap of, or can let me know which episode, the "pink round-collar hanfu Mudan wears" that's mentioned in the ask I'd really appreciate it (I tried looking for it but couldn't find it T__T)

Looking briefly through some of the posts regarding this show, it seems the production team put a lot of effort into recreating the Tang Dynasty aesthetic, from costumes to props (there are some people who have found props and matched them to museum pieces). For the most part, the clothing seems appropriate for the time period, the only nitpick I'll do is that it seems to mix together clothing styles from early Tang all the way to late Tang (but the show isn't set in a specific period of the Tang Dynasty, so they can kind of get away with that).

Most of the men seem to wear the round-collar robes that was most common during the Tang Dynasty (my post on it here).

This style of qixiong dress (over-bust dress) seems to be most common in this show, and definitely a staple for women's hanfu during the Tang Dynasty.

If you look at the width of her sleeve here, it doesn't appear very wide. Sleeve width became wider and wider during the Tang Dynasty, so looking at these sleeves it seems more early-going-into-Gold-era Tang (my post on Gold-era Tang hanfu here).

This style looks more early-Tang with the very form-fitted sleeve and the non-qixiong skirt. I can't see clearly the pattern of her dress here, but early Tang skirts often had alternating coloured blocks on their skirts (called jianqun/间裙子)(my post on early Tang here and here).

I can't tell clearly if this dress is a qixiong dress, or a hezi dress. Hezi dresses so far are not backed by any artefacts, there are rumours of its existence but nothing has been unearthed to verify it (someone asked me about this, I posted on it here).

Looking at the long outer robe with the wide sleeve, even if this was a qixiong dress, this would be late Tang, edging into the Five Dynasties post-Tang (my post on this here).

In the first pic, the two maids are wearing outfits that are very typical in early Tang. The collars, the little vest/half-sleeve of the shirt, etc.

I'll nitpick that historically, Chinese capes did not have hoods attached. They came separately.

You can see in this pic (from the 1987 Dream of the Red Chambers), the woman is wearing her cape, the man is holding the hood for her.

My personal theory is because of the various hair styles women have, and the various hats/guan (head pieces) men wear, a separate hood offered more flexibility. Like in this pic from Romance of the Three Kingdoms (1994), he's wearing a very tall guan so trying to fit it under a hood that's attached to the cape would be difficult. But this is all just my guesses, don't quote me xD

This maid is wearing a round-collared robe usually associated with men, but actually during the Tang Dynasty it wasn't uncommon for women to wear this style of robe as well.

This man has half the robe on, the other half off his shoulder, displaying the half-sleeve underneath. This was a common way men wore their robes in casual situations (it looks like he's hunting) (my post on this here).

I took this screenshot because you can see the difference in lengths between these two men's robes. One is calf-length, one is ankle-length. Men's robes also got longer as time went on during the Tang Dynasty. It's possible this servant is wearing a shorter robe to make walking easier, but going by the length of the man in red, this should be at least late-Tang Dynasty (post mentioning robe length here).

This outfit's sleeve is very wide, indicating later in the Tang Dynasty. I think people believe form-fitted sleeves were more for younger girls, servants, or women of lower class who had to work and large, wide sleeves were for higher-level women or older women who sat around all day. In actuality, sleeve width was an indication of time period during the Tang Dynasty (for both men and women).

This look is straight out of a Dunhuang Buddhist donor mural. They painted these to commemorate people who were devoted to Buddhism and/or gave a lot of offerings, you can find these murals at the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang City today (my post on this here).

I know I said I wouldn't discuss hair but just this one, since it's such an iconic look for the Tang Dynasty. This hairstyle is a clear replica of the Ladies with Flower in their Hair painting (簪花仕女图), but they've changed the clothing. This painting was originally believed to be from the Golden-era or Mid-Tang, but in recent years historians believe it's more likely to be late-Tang or Five Dynasties (possibly even Song Dynasty) painted. Even in China a lot of people still associate it with the Tang Dynasty.

So overall, the show's production team clearly did research to replicate Tang Dynasty clothing. For the most part, they did a good job, no cross-dynasty clothing being tossed around. There's a bit of mish-mash for which period of the Tang Dynasty the clothing's from, but that's not a huge issue. Given some of the crazy costumes that's come out of period dramas in recent years, big applause to the production team to the costuming department.

Pre wedding shoot.

I saw this post on TikTok of this guy saying he loves 1980’s Hong Kong style wedding photos. Couples would have a pre-wedding shoot are photos taken of the bride and groom before the wedding wearing their wedding clothes or wedding clothes. The themes usually follow the night of the wedding or following the wedding. Here are some pre-wedding photos I think they would take.

Gojo Satoru

From the passionate kiss with his hand sliding up your thigh to the ones of you two joint and laughing, scream Gojo to me. The middle is when you snatched his glasses and put them on. The photographer captured intimate moments of you two kissing and laughing at his jokes.

Geto Suguru

Similar to Gojo, Suguru is playful during his wedding photo shoot. The photographer captures photos of the two of you being playful yet posing in a relaxed and intimate manner. I can totally see him smoking at least once. The last photo is of you two running away from Jujutsu Tech after defecting.

Nanami Kento

Unlike these two clown above, Nanami takes a serious and sensual approach for the photos with you. The first photo is your idea. You always tease Nanami about reading the newspaper like an old man, so you decided to incorporate into your wedding shoot. The second photo took you by surprise. When the photographer said that he will be taking pics of you both further away, you were not expecting Nanami to kiss amongst a crowd of people. It’s your favorite photo out of all of them. The photographer referred to the photos as refined and romantic.

Worth noting that while I’ve been keeping my eye on a lot of these brands for a while now, there is a possibility there is some kind of discourse around them that I missed - if so please let me know so that I can look into it myself!

Mayakern!

I like Mayakern a lot because they cater a lot to plus size bodies! They have plus size models and Mayakern themselves is plus sized! Recently they’ve been expanding beyond skirts to things like dresses and shirts. This makes me very excited because not only are these shirts cute as heck, but some of them are even more standard/essential shirts but are made with bigger body types in mind. So often fat people have to just settle for good enough,but its clear that Mayakern makes her stuff so that anyone wearing it can be confident! There’s also ton of customer pics you can see to tell how clothing lays on various body types.

Umvvelt

Umvvelt focuses on fish/ocean themes and I absolutely love how creative they get - they’ve done a bunch of different fish lines focused on rays to jellyfish to sharks. I particularly adore their pinafores - I own three of them and they’re very comfortable AND have pockets. 

Carmico

A classic - I think the brand that got me really invested in indie clothing brands? Carmico does themed drops a couple times a year where they design a myriad of clothing pieces that all have a similar vibe/theme. I think they do a good job at getting creative while still having the clothing be something I would wear! From button-ups to sweatpants to jackets Carmico has the variety and the style. A lot of their clothing gives the vibe of something you would draw on a character and wish existed in real life - except now it does exist in real life! 

Morningwitch 

Another classic, if you haven’t checked them out by now PLEASE do. Morningwitch has SUCH as eye for design and patterns and color. Chiefly known for their creative button up tops (of which I own several) they also have expanded quite a bit recently. Their skirts are probably my favorite style of all the skirts on this list because they have a thicker band. They also do some relief print shirts, the CUTEST jackets (if you’ve seen pics of brownies pomegranate jacket this is where they got it) and on their twitter they have a lot more fun stuff brewing. Much like Mayakern they’re starting to branch out beyond their ‘standard’ (the button up tees) into new avenues and I personally look forward to what that brings! 

Knockthrice

This indie store blends concepts and casual wear together into something extraordinary. From their knight cardigans, to their ‘tea’-shirts, to their themed over-the-garden wall collections they have some of the most beautiful pieces you may ever see. Knockthrice does a great job at blending ideas into clothing in a creative way so make it something that I would wear in daily life. Their shirts are a good, durable, thick material - although maybe a little warm for the summer. A lot of their stuff gives me fall vibes, and as someone who loves fall the most out of all season - I eat it up! 

Envygreen Manor

More of a newcomer on the scene as far as I am aware, envygreen manor also does themed drops once or twice a year. However, their clothing it usually more of a mix between casual tees and more formal elements - their vests or poet shirts come to mind. I instantly fell in love with them when I saw their mock-neck designs and felt like they somehow knew me and exactly the kind of shirt I would want from them. 

Vetiverfox Apparel/Witch Vamp

Putting these two together because they kind of occupy the came part of my brain! They’re both skirt focused brands much like Mayakern. Vetiverfox typically has more intricate designs or patterns, while Witch Vamp usually has bolder themes - not that thats a hard rule or anything! I own I believe a skirt from each of them (soon to be two from vetiverfox!) and highly recommend at least taking a peak and seeing if anything catches your eye from either brand! 

Mothsprout

Mothsprout only has a few clothing options, but I absolutely HAVE to mention them. Mothsprout has two muscle tank designs that I literally wear like once a week - I’ve actually considered getting a second of the wolf design just so I can wear it more often. Their designs vary from intricate to fun, and honestly I would never pass up a chance to wear their beautiful art as clothing.

I’m afraid I don’t have any strict process that i could explain..? Except A LOT of training ? 😭 I can share how I like to train though ! (it’s often warm-ups before starting working)

- Posemaniacs !!!

20min of 45sec-1min poses every morning is a super cool warm-up, and it forces you to be quick and go to the point ! No unnecessary lines ! (Posting my sketches because i often see people who starts using it trying to do super detailed pics, with a lot of lines, and can’t finish their sketches before the time limit. Loose sketches are fine, you want to get the pose, the perspective, the overall volume, not to create a masterpiece. Posemaniacs is super rad because it helps you learn how to draw any pose from any angle. Also they have a bank of hundreds of 3D models with various poses you can move and turn how you like in a 3D space when you want a reference for when you’re drawing !)

- Do studies from animators/series you like !

Sakugabooru is a mine of references for that ! (i do both movement studies and still of frames i find super cool/instructive) Animators try hard to convey the depth/volumes, even on simple designs, so that’s good references (and yes i’m a kameda simp)

- Pictures of real people !/Real people from real life !!

For studying poses, clothes etc ! (Super rough and not detailed sketches like these ↓ help me a lot ! Sports references are cool ! Try to stay concise, not too many details ! If you like my style i can recommend you to do studies from Ousama Ranking, Mob Pyscho, Sherlock Hound, Doraemon, The Gutsy Frog, (and many more haha) (also of course 80’s-90’s Aoyama Gosho’s works ! Magic Kaito, Late Yaiba/Early Detective Conan ! The expressions I draw are heaaaavily influenced by it, as it’s the first thing I actively studied)

RammWear Part II

Thank you guys so much for appreciating my first RammWear fashion-post , I was so happy about your likes and comments :) So here comes the second part where I am showing my Rammstein-inspired clothing style, inspired by the stuff Paul, Richard and Schneider wear on and off stage:

The cardigan(s): All three of them at one point wore a very loosely fitting, longer knitted jacket (or pullover), I put it all in the category „cardigan“. I absolutely loooved that look of Schneider and Paul during the „Rammstein in Paris“- premiere!

Especially Schneiders look is so good here – I especially liked the asymmetric look of the shirt and the length of the cardigan, reaching down to his knees.

Paul loved that cardigan obviously very much, he wore it on several occasions throughout different years, also in this photoshoot (such a great pic, had to involve that!)

Richard also sported that look (kind of), although I think it's something like a scarf draped over his shoulder..? And the second picture is a shirt, but it conveys the same oversized, comfy look – his self-hugging pose adds to that, I think..

I never wore cardigans or this type of loose knitted jackets before, more like sweatshirt hoodies. But I really fell in love with these comfy, oversized, cuddly jackets in fall and winter, especially when combined with a black leggins or tight jeans. I was so happy when I found the perfect black „Schneider-Richard-Paul-cardigan“ secondhand:

Because I loved the look and feel so much, I later bought another incredibly comfortable cardigan via etsy. It has some more colour in it, which I like very much. It's draped over the body and hold in place with two hidden buttons, which gives it a very organic look. It's not that close to the ot3 look anymore, but I still had it in mind while buying – and it really formed my personal style, I adore this piece :)

In both occasions you already saw my Paul-scarf, Schneider wore one with a similar colour

Paul wore this scarf also on the „Paris“-premiere and on some other occasions. It once again looks so cosy and comfortable and good on him. It also appeared in one of my fanfics and at least one other I can now think of. This scarf somehow is so „Paul-like“ in my mind. I bought mine on a medieval market, without having his in my mind (at least not consciously), because I liked that fabric and colour – and later thought how similar it looked to Paul's and was so happy about it :) I like wearing it in fall and winter, I rarely go out without a scarf in these times of the year, so I wear it quite often.

My latest addition to my little Rammstein-inspired clothes collection is a Paul-pullover (man, I love alliterations :D)!

I think he wore this during a video shoot (was it the one for Ausländer?) and once again, I really liked the cosy look, slightly oversized, kind of organic looking and with these long sleeves covering the hands. Also I like that sandy-beige colour.

I searched for a matching piece all over Vinted (a german website for secondhand clothing) and found a (as I think) perfect match a few weeks later. As I have absolutely no white shirts in my closet I also bought a white shirt secondhand for 2€ to match the look perfectly :D This makes perfect sense as the pullover itself it quite loose, so to not get a cold stomach I had to wear something underneath – I'm pretty sure that was Paul's intention, too ^^; I'm so glad I found such a good match. When wearing it I think of these nice pictures and that he wore a similar one and can't help but feel happy about it :)

Last but not least – the omnipresent leather-jacket :D

Apart from the colour black, all three can agree on wearing these type of jackets. I found so many pictures with so many damn cool ones... this is just the perfect casual rockstar look! :)

I admit, when buying my jacket I didn't really think of RammWear, but it fits this series so nicely that I included it here. I had a gift card for that one shop and decided to treat myself with this, as I think it's a damn fine leather jacket – the hoody is part of the jacket and can be taken off, together with that sweatshirt-inlay. But I love this casual-cool-sporty look so much :)

I realized that overall, I probably like Pauls style the most, he likes comfortable, but still good looking clothes. Followed by Schneider, who seems to like a more sporty and casual style than Paul, with more sweatshirt-fabric-clothes, hoodies and jeans. Richard is often made fun of because of his personal style – but I like, how he's layering clothes and after all, that he doesn't give a fuck what others think about his red cap + pink hoodie :)

Marie Claude Roch

So this artist has a focus on dolls and ceramics, and is entirely the inspiration behind my critters with little travel packs on the back. I found her art through Tumblr, though not sure if she actually has a Tumblr account? If you look at her Etsy reviews you can see her absolutely adorable traveler animals with their amazing accessories packed on their backs. She is also the only artist of this list of which I personally have purchased a ceramic friend (I'll make sure to reblog or edit in a pic of my guy, they're the best and keep my plants company).

As for the Commission part of this query, basically I don't have any info because I already struggle with pricing so much as it is, you can times that by five for doing custom work. As soon as I figure out pricing info, I promise I will post it up for people to peruse.

YEAHHHHH!!! Talking about this sketch and the implications makes me very unwell. Also the little gesture of happily resting his chin in her palm is just like something a sweet doggy would do before looking up at you with confused yet earnest eyes and then wagging his tail hopefully. He's so doggy like to me. Do you know what I mean? You know what I mean <333

Agsbdjnk the clipboard. A silly little sketch but with visual storytelling. It's absolutely tryouts or something similar. I imagine that Willow is the only EE player that is dedicated to playing longterm while the others have a lot of fun during their time on the team but eventually move on to other ventures after a year or two. Once Boscha improves her behaviour after FTF, I could see Skara wanting to return to playing grudgby. She seemed to really love it. So Willow and Hunter are on the ball near immediately to find a replacement. And with the Flyer Derby renaissance Willow has lowkey started at Hexside, there's a way bigger turn out than the last time she needed recruits.

Judging by Hunter's level of relaxed contentment and Willow not giving it much notice, a good chunk of time has passed since the events of W&D. They're very attuned to each other, having probably been joined at the hip for a while now.

(We're gonna ignore the fact that Hunter doesn't have his post TTT scars. Presumably Dana just forgot agsbdjk.)

In the left pic, I don't think he's unwilling to be touched. He's definitely excited about wherever the FUCK this is going. But he looks stiff and his smile is twitchy, clearly nervous. Which implies that he's not that used to Willow being so touchy with him and he's a little out of his depth. My headcanon is that grom was when they officially got together, after months of situationship shenanigans. With that little idea in mind, this is just the beginning of their relationship.

When it comes to the pic on the right, I imagine it's also quite early in the dating stage. Early enough that they've only just broached the exciting world of more intimately affectionate touches. Which Hunter has evidently not built up an immunity to yet. Still melts every time.

Yeah that is definitely a boy who has only been in a relationship long enough to discover that he loves the feeling of his face being held, but also a boy who's so comfortable in his relationship that he's not shy about seeking out affection when he wants it. Even in public.

So he's still swoony but not shy about it anymore. So I'd say a few weeks-a month or two into dating.

(Also the haircuts align with this little timeline I've made up in my head. Willow has cut her hair short for grom, while it's in the season 2 short stubby braids during tryouts. So it HAS grown out but only a little. Meanwhile Hunter's hair has grown out a bit during grom, but looks recently trimmed during tryouts. There's no real significance to this. I watched a Dana livestream once where she said she'd rather just draw short hair Hunter because the long hair noodle is annoying to draw. But asgbknk! I like to make up implications where there are none. Anyway my hc is that Willow and Hunter do not just decide on a signature hair length and keep it forever. They spend the next three years bouncing back and forth between long and short styles.)

ANYWAY Willow is absolutely hyping Hunter the fuck up as the Golden Star of her team!! The best and the brightest!! Her pride and joy as a Captain. The purpose is to get the candidates all excited to do their best to get a spot on this epic team so they can play alongside him, but Hunter misinterprets Willow's praise as sweet talk and smiles and blushes appropriately.

Agsbdjnk it's so funny. He totally understood that the goal was to get their potential players PUMPED and he was excellently playing along with riling them up. But that glowing review of his character distracted him and now he thinks they're flirting. So the super cool badass disposition he had adapted for the newbies was promptly thrown out the window because hehehehe my girlfriend is so nice to me 🥰 Bro has forgotten where he is. Head empty.

So when Willow juts out a hand to aggressively present ✨️Him✨️ to the audience, Hunter's already gooey brain just says put chin in hand because sweet girl soft girl my girl.

Willow is a little thrown off but when she feels the weight of his face but just rolls with it and keeps going. She even gives him an affectionate little caress. I think she recognizes that he's misunderstood the tone a bit and has decided to not tell him. He usually gets very embarrassed when its pointed out that he's made a social error and she doesn't wanna do that to him. It's harmless and its cute, who cares? He's a little confused but he's got the spirit.

Maybe I've just not been here long enough, but it kinda dawned on me that I've never seen any of your sketches (assuming you post them). And then they got me curious about your artistic process from an aesthetic technical pov. I was wondering if you'd be willing to walk through the process you go through when designing, but also specifically drawing your characters? /nf

Ah yes, I actually don't post sketches despite telling people it's ok to do so and that remains true but from a technical stand point, I can let you see how I work!

When I'm making art, I actually prefer to sketch on paper as this is familiar to me and art isn't supposed to be hard, it's supposed to be fun so that's how I start. From there I snap a pic and then use my tablet to digitally line up and colour in the piece!

My style makes colouring easier since I actually just fill in colours and then use the different tools to mess with what a pallette looks like and line art is actually something I enjoy because I love messing with my line weights!

As for designing, that actually took a long time for me to learn because of how my style shaped itself. I learned a lot about fashion and about shape language and used that as my guide in designing!

Side tangent: I actually hate overcomplicated designs which is why I avoid them (and one of the reasons I don't like hoyoverse games). My styles leans a lot more into stylization rather than realism and the aim of my style was always to hone something useful for when I could become an animator/character designer so I learned how to create character that could be interesting to see in those mediums!

Typically what I do is carve out the silhouette and shape langauage into a character trope that I recognise is similar to what I'm aiming for (with Jackson, that meant a strong man archetype)! After that, I add elements I associate to that character with their concept by toying with their shape to suggest the idea in their design (Jack is a shifter so I gave him shapes that suggest claws, fangs, fur and ears) . Once I'm happy with the concept I refine it and get to colouring!

Colouring is a process I like a lot because colours suggest more than what people give them credit for, it's how we make quick indentifications and I learned a lot of this from japanese advertisements and mexican art!

When I'm picking colours I like to stick to what speaks to the character so when I was designing Jackson, I picked colours that we central to his character! Browns and Greys because of how down to earth and practical he is, green because he has an association with Artemis, a dark and light purple to mimic an orca (for reasons we'll learn later) and dark blue hair because I want him to be a dark furre wolf but I hate using pure black in my pieces to colour.

After all that, I then add in smaller elements to make references back to things to mark familiarity and create cohesiveness in my designs (especially when I'm designing a cast of characters). For example, Khaleed and Jackson actually both have trail tattoos, is that for a reason I won't disclose now? Yes.

the rest of this post is just yapping abt the fic,, so light spoilers for heat stroke!

ngl im super nervous posting this and idk why??(i do, its bc im tagging the author..)

anyway, i didnt think this fic would ever be finished as the months went on and rolled over into next year but then i got the email notification and nearly screamed(yes that is embarrassing to admit..)

i cant, and probably could never, fully explain the sheer amount of detail that zorn put into this fic(and also the other fic ive read from them, Tweetheart, which is my roman empire) youll get more insight, and far less rambling brain slurry from the recesses of my animal brain, if you read both the fic and the comments as discussions on there are far more introspective citing direct quotes from the fic also have great author feedback, the rest of this post is something i wanted to note

the fic is riddled with contrasting elements(im mostly focusing on chapter 2 when i say this as its fresh in my mind) like in the descriptors, monologue, and characterization. 

comparatively Grian’s and Scar’s characters are complete opposites, Grian’s invasive to intimacy and outright tries to deny it(trying to physically leave their house) while Scar is the one who initiates the intimacy and craves vulnerability(not saying Grian doesnt initiates anything between the two just that Scar is less repressed.)

a similar example of this is in the sex scenes, the inherent intimacy of sex and how Grian acts during(practically begging sometimes) is contradictory to his established character, standoffish(once again im directing you to the comments as lovely user sheepfriend and zorn have a great conversation further explaining Grian’s character better than i am) while Scar is so delightfully pathetic and almost takes a submissive role(??) which is against his confident demeanor throughout the fic(dunno know where else to mention this but i love the uses of dog imagery for Scar its just so good, mwah chef kiss)

 in Grian’s inner monologue he feels remorse when looking at the scars hes caused on Scar’s body but then later on, still in his inner monologue, revels in the fact that hes left his physical mark on Scar(again reading those comments from sheepfriend and zorn give far more insight) 

water and thirst is often used as a metaphor for desire in the more intimate scenes, "Water sidling up to the hard coast that is Scar’s body, the firm landing strip of bones.”, “He’s thirsty, he realizes, the withering curling need gathering on his tongue and down his throat.” this imagery is very contrasting to their environment, which is a desert, and also to the catalyst of the fic, Grian’s heat(in an etymologic sense rather than in the context of the fic)

theres in fact no thesis statement to this long post aside from the fact that zorn loves the use of contrast(thats the entirety of the 2cents i wanted to chip in,) but if you want a far better explanation of the insane rambling i just wrote i direct you to this lovely post by zorn from his blog ! i recommend if you havent read HEAT STROKE!(or Tweetheart because its good !!) you should read the fic first and then the post as it really puts the vibe you get throughout both fics into words❤︎︎❤︎︎

honestly zorn's writings have greatly influenced my writing and(when i first read Tweetheart) got me back into writing, their writing style is so good and is chalk-full of detail and care i truly cant recommend their works enough or put it into words(which is why this paragraph is so rambling,,)the sheer amount of creativity and detail in every aspect of his fics❤︎︎❤︎︎

also, didnt know where else to mention it, i love the way zorn writes Grian's and Scar's dynamic(like?? hellofjdkj???)

Today we were talking about Slipknot with my drum teacher and he said that Eloy (their new drummer) plays as if the drum kit owes him money, and this remark amused me so much that I can't stop thinking about it.

And since my current hyperfixation is The Bad Batch, here you go...

The Bad Batch behind the kit

Omega is a little metalhead, this is the only reason she picked on drumming classes. She wants to play Spiritbox, but Tech said that he won't let her approach the drum kit before she memorises all the rudiments. She knows how to sit right, but sometimes intentionally hunches just to see Tech's reaction. It never fails to make her laugh. Both of them, actually.

Tech won't play anything before he memorises all of the existing rudiments and his practice pad turns to ash. He is obsessed with polyrhythms, and I can't blame him for that, because they're damn cool (so is he). He has a perfect posture and a Swiss-watch sense of rhythm, but plays without visible passion. He enjoys playing Queen. It's classical, it's complicated and it sounds great. What else one might need?

Wrecker is here only to learn 'Break my Heart' by Dua Lipa and be done with drums forever. He's that type of newbie whose posture behind the kit is similar to a gremlin's and his teacher just can't get him to sit properly.

Crosshair's posture isn't great, but his sense of rhythm is more accurate than the bloody metronome and he's absolutely crushing it (especially the poor drum kit). Have you ever heard the saying "Stille Wasser sind tief"? Well, that's about him. The drum kit is the only place where he feels safe letting his inner self out. The first song he learned was Don't Get Close by Slipknot and he's still into heavy music. He has a very energetic style and... a very deadpan face.

Hunter doesn't even play drums, he just took a sit because his spine is killing him. And yes, he's a typical guitar dad. Sometimes Omega asks him to play "Take Me On" instead of a lullaby. He doesn't even like this song, but there's nothing he won't do for Omega, especially when she gives him that extremely sad puppy eyes look.

And Echo... Let's just say that he isn't good friends with drums. And metronome. And musical theory. He enjoys listening to other people playing, he may even hum along, but don't you even try to get him to play something, unless you want him to trauma-dump about terrible experience he had at music school.

I’ve always found it odd that in s8 Sansa started wearing her hair more like d@ny. Like that bun braid she’s got going on in the promos & those two little braids that frame her face at the dragon pit. I can head-canon that she chose to wear her hair like that in king’s landing for the sake of the unsullied. Perception is everything & their leader wore her hair that way—a strong woman capable of commanding an army; an intimidating woman. Sansa likely felt she needed to project an intimidating level of strength if she had any hope of securing Jon’s release & the braids could’ve been a way to subtly influence their perception of her. Meant to recall images of their leader & paint her as someone to be feared.

As far as wearing her hair the way she did at the start of the season…the best I could come up with is that she was doing it for Jon. And while it’s an answer I can accept (be still my jonsa-heart!) it doesn’t feel quite satisfactory. I’m wondering if you’ve put down any thoughts on this & might have something more for us to consider? Or perhaps a head-canon you’d like to share?

But the idea that Sansa was copying Dany never made much sense to me because Sansa starts wearing the hairstyle before she’s met Dany? I think that Sansa's hair was meant to be a Northern style, and worked with the association of Sansa & Lyanna the show created (link).

And then in s8, looking at the hairstyles, even though there are braids in both, it looks to me as if they attempted to keep them distinct. Look how soft and loose Dany's is in contrast to Sansa's. Also, Sansa has a bun while Dany's braid is like a crown sliding off her head (ba-dum-ch!)

Even when I look at “Sansa’s war braids” at the dragonpit,

It doesn’t make me see Dany at all. She susually had two curls down by her face, but that was to soften her look, whereas Sansa's braids have the opposite intention. My main thought is that it’s weird the girl who wasn’t fighting got the armor-ish dresses while the two who were out there with the army of the dead did not! This may have been an effort to give her a totally unique hairstyle from the Northern cast, in prep for Queen Sansa?

I think the Jonsa implications would be in the Lyanna connection and the NedCat cosplay from s6-7. The fact that the finale rested on Jon’s (Targ) love for Sansa (Stark girl) makes me think there was some story-related reasoning back in s5-7 that carried through to the end even if they didn't really wanna follow-through on the implication. Making Jon appear as Ned and Sansa as Cat (the hairstyles are similar, not exactly the same but the script referenced the Cat thing at one point so it was intentional) also feels like something that was still present in s8 storywise. They were a unit, they did trust each other, but there was a lot of anxiety about that trust and pain about a perceived betrayal.

And in-world reasoning, I’d say that when in the South Sansa was trying to fit in at court so mimicking to greater or lesser extent the fashion made sense, and when she returned home, it made sense for her to start wearing styles she’d worn or seen as a girl.
