I'm going to break this down as best as I can for you, but if you've got the time or are looking for something to listen to while working (like I do), I highly recommend the deep dive by the youtuber Swoop. It goes into ALL of it.

Short answer: YES. She very much deserves the backlash she's getting. To be honest, she deserves a lot worse in terms of legal trouble and she should be banned. Not kidding.

So, it started because she called out a legal channel called Legal Eagle, claiming that they are plagerizing her editing style. Her edits that she says they stole? A fucking highlight over text effect and one of those edits where it makes the image look like torn paper coming together. Super common and nobody owns that. It's like claiming you own copyright to the dictionary.

Well, Legal Eagle politely responded telling her this. Then several other youtubers pointed out (with evidence) times where SHE plagerized actual dialog in her videos (she whole cloth quoted a documentary but made it sound like she wrote it, which is plagerism, albeit a miscited source variety).

This then led to several other youtubers who worked with her calling her out for how she behaved toward them when they worked together, among a few other things.

This led to Blair (aka iilluminaughtii) creating a 45 minute video (which is still up) where she made it seem like she was apologizing (and she did apologize to legal eagle, but pretty much blew off the accusations of plagerism). The remainder of the video was her trashing her former collaborators. Completely lying about them and actually claiming serious shit (which was all untrue). Such major ones include: claiming that one of them was a pedo enabler, claiming that another one was a lazy pet owner who disrespected her house and wasn't a good worker (which is why she fired him), POSTING SAID FORMER EMPLOYEES SUICIDE NOTE ON HER VIDEO, and admitting that she called the cops on him but made it sound like said potentially suicidal former friend/ex employee was going to harm her... and that's just part of it.

Once that came out, the former collaborators she said these things about made videos of their own with evidence of how she actually treated them. The friend she accused of being a pedo enabler? Yeah what actually happened was there was a creepy guy on his discord server talking about pedo-type behavior. Said individual was quickly banned by the friend's mods. Why didn't the friend block them himself? Well it was 3am in the country he lives in (he's not from the US) and he was asleep. She twisted thar whole thing into something it wasn't. He also ended up showing definitive proof that she was harassing them, spreading lies about them, and harassing his friends and family via sock/alternate accounts. Yep, she's gone Creepshow Art territory, now, but it gets worse.

The former employee? Oh she convinced him to move to Colorado (from Texas), stay with her until he could move into a house she was building and she'd be his landlord, hired him on to her company, and convinced him to enter a rent-to-own agreement where she (a nearly 30 y/o woman at the time) convinced a 20 y/o to sign on for a $60k BMW. Effectively, she was his boss, his landlord, and his car loan. She then fired him after 60 days, claiming he didn't meet deadlines or complete any work... except she hardly gave him any work, and when he was still within a deadline and he literally flew back to Texas to go get his computer (his previous one died) in order to meet the deadline, she fired him. The former friend also claims that she would regularly verbally abuse him, constantly tell him things like how he's so less than compared to her channel, etc. It got so bad, his therapist recommended he leave the house. So he lived in that BMW. While in the process of returning the car to Blair and trying to get her to show him the cars contract so he knew how much he needed to pay toward the car, she repo'd it with all of his possessions that he had in it (which she never gave back, never allowed him to retrieve and later threw away, including his skateboard, a computer, and his YouTube play button). She effectively made him completely homeless with no warning and no showing him his contract for the car. This was around the time the former friend was feeling suicidal ideation. He was able to talk with his therapist about it and get away from that thought processes, but during that time, Blair basically swatted him (sending the police under false pretenses). Oh and it also turns out that her dog would regularly hurt his dog and that showed various different pieces of evidence showing how he's taken care of his dog (he's an excellent dog owner, not at all lazy).

This has all been corroborated by them and in the meantime, other people who worked with her in previous years came forward with their experiences. And a lot of it also came from Swoop's deep dive, as she also had an interview with Blair's ex. She was verbally and emotionally abusive to him. There are recordings of her that are absolutely vile. Like the former friend, she also got her ex to move states away from his support network. And also like the former friend, she also weaponized his mental health struggles and suicidal ideation struggles.

There's a whole lot more to this, but it all shows that she's absolutely vile. She's been shown to also be a complete hypocrite. She does all these deep dives into shady businesses and business practices and guess what? She uses many of those same practices.

And you wanna know what she's doing now? Continuing to churn out her usual content like nothing's changed and threatening to sue the former friend, demanding both a public apology and that he take the video down. And she claims it's because of the NDA she had him under (which won't help her and may or may not be legally binding). She's trying to bully him and the others who have come forward into silence.

She isn't just mean or petty or just someone who made an error in judgement. She's absolutely a vile abuser and an unethical businesswoman and a dishonest documentarian. And she's been doing it for years.

That's why she's bleeding subscribers and almost 85%-95% of the comments on her videos are people just pointing out how she can't act like nothing happened and just calling her out (with the other 5%-15% being found to likely be her own alt accounts). As Swoop in her deep dive said, "it isn't drama, it's dangerous".

This is seriously just the cliffnotes and it's still on-going, but I can't stress enough how NOT you're average petty internet drama. This seriously is dangerous and vile behavior that could very well have legal and even (possibly) criminal consequences. Hope it helps give you an idea, tho.

I need someone to give me the context of the illuminaughtii drama as well as the latest updates and tell me is she really as bad as the hate suggests or does the internet just love an excuse to tear down a female content creator because I have enjoyed her channel this is a serious question there are no articles for this
