This is the classroom display poster I made for ‘making inferences’. This is a response to the week 2 prompt for ECL310. On reflection, I think in future I would type the text to make it easier to read from a distance, especially for students. I really enjoyed making this classroom display which could be used to help remind students to make inferences when they read.

Prediction Activity
There are so many ideas and ways you can conduct an introductory activity based on predicting what a particular book is going to be about. After some research I would complete the prediction activity as a whole class discussion. I would prepare some labels, each with different ideas on them which can be placed under the headings who/what/when/where/why, each label will be laminated and will have blutac on the back of it in order to be stuck on the whitebaord. On the whiteboard, a large table will be drawn up (six rows and two columns), each row will be assigned the heading who/what/when/where/why. In the column next to it is where the students will have the opportunity to blutac their predictions about what the book will be about. As a students suggests an idea to place in the column, the teacher will ask for their reasoning behind their prediction. This activity allowing the students to physically interact with their ideas as well as not let it take up the whole lesson.
