note: i didnt know whether to post this one bc i didn’t want to exclude anyone, but decided it’s not a crime for me to want to write something akin to my own experiences. i hope you understand !

- wash days are actually fun with him.. 🫣🤔

- firstly both your schedules are cleared for the day

- waking up earlier than usual to help you take down your braids

- (he sits on the couch and you sit on the floor between his legs)

- he asked if you wanted to sit in a chair and he could stand but you insisted

- tbh he’s faster than you 💀

- like you’ll give him a section and 7 mins later he’s done and combing it, spraying it with water and conditioner mix

- he gives you breaks and does some braids on your section <3

- afterwards when you’re finished you put tie it up and take a break

- you both order takeout bc you haven’t eaten since breakfast and it’s already like 2pm 😭

- (after washing your hands ofc)

- you often feel a little weird after taking you braids out bc your head feels SO light

- but also bc you’re not used to having natural hair after having only braids for several weeks

- “[nameee],” he whines, dragging out the last syllable, “you’re cute either way, alright?” he cups your cheeks, “i love you.”

- reassures you with lots of kisses, you’re not allowed to feel ugly on his watch

- NOW FOR WASHING

- OBVIOUSLY there’s a lot of buildup and you always insist on washing it yourself, and yes your arms ache afterwards 😭

- BUT YOU BEST BELIEVE HE’S ON STANDBY

- need more cleansing shampoo?

- “sir yes sir!🫡”

- more conditioner?

- “ofc baby, here you go 🫶🏻”

- need a different comb?

- “I GOTCHU BABES 🏃🏻‍♂️”

- after you’re done he has your towel and t-shirt ready for your hair

- he read that the cotton fabric of a shirt is gentler than the microfibers of a towel

- he’s right, your hair feels really soft afterwards 🥺

- he actually sections your hair when you’re getting ready to prep & style

- you try to help but he just pushes your hands away every time 😭

- “it’s the least i can do,” he mumbles, leaning down to kiss your cheek

- he’s been dating you for a while and he’s seen you do it

- AND he’s watched a few YouTube videos in preparation for this moment

- he knows it through & through.. oil, leave in conditioner, comb through, then twist 💁🏿‍♀️

- he puts a little too much oil on the first section

- “YEONJUN THATS TOO MUCH 😭” “IM SORRY BABY,”

- you help him fix his mistake and he doesn’t make it again, adjusting to the amount you showed him

- he loves you sm and even wants to help you braid one day 🥹

- that day wont come for a long time BUT ITS THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS

So... this was my day:

6am: *wakes up and checks twitter/helps kiddo get ready*

7:15am: *gets home from taking kiddo to school* "I'm gonna finish that Drexyl fic today! 😈"

10am: *gets halfway through, takes a nap*

11am: *wakes up and scrolls through twitter while I eat*

"Damn it authortwitter, can we please have ONE month off?"

12pm: *switches to tumblr cause twitter is annoying lately*

12:30pm: *watches a youtube reaction video of Homeward Bound*

1pm: *does a load of laundry*

2pm: *goes with hubs to pick up kiddo from school*

2:15pm: *goes grocery shopping with the fam*

3:45pm: *gets home, puts groceries away and scrolls twitter again*

"Now there's fucking agents acting wild, too? Bro, what happens in this timeline?"

5pm: "Okay, I'm gonna go get dinner, find a youtube video to watch and then finish up with Drexyl after I eat 😈"

7pm: *opens youtube and sees a 6 hour video dissertation about 8Passengers, but it's from Cruel World Happy Mind*

"... I'm sorry Drexyl, but I have to watch this."

Seriously, such a well put together, factual doc that as always is led with empathy for the victims involved and did not exploit the situation in my opinion. I know six hours is a committment, and it is a committment, I literally just did it ���� but bro, it gives you a complete break down of a distinct pattern that is an example of the absolutely worst thing that can happen with a family vlog channel. I'm not saying that all family vlog channels are bad, but I think a conversation worth continuing is should influencers that categorize themselves as being a family channel (or insta or whatever) be held to the same standard as kids who work outside the home (like, for example child actors, models, artists hell even little siblings of artists and actors, etc)? Is it exploitation for parents to constantly vlog about their lives and heavily feature their kids?

Last night I watched a different video essay by Shanspeare called Using Kids for Clout: The Downfall of Familt Channels and while none of the others that I've heard of are nearly as horrific as 8P (at least as far as we know) it's still worth asking, where's the limit with these forms of income as far as the kids are concerned and when is it considered labor?

Both of these are definitely worth a watch. Those two creators are pretty fucking awesome too, you shoukd check out their other content. So... anyway, how was ya'll's day?

Wednesday, 10/19/22

1am - I was up until 3am working on assignments and catching up on lectures in the study lounge, but felt so groggy and sick. i lie down for a bit on the couch next to my bf who was studying for his midterm, and I ended up falling asleep 💀 my boyfriend stayed up the entire night studying by my side

7:55am - my boyfriend wakes me up and tells me that he’s leaving for his midterm— I felt like I was going to die like my body was just a rag doll. i didn’t rly process that he was leaving until he walked out the lounge and I was just sitting there squinting and seeing that the sun was up. and then it hit me— THIS DUDE JUST LEFT ME WHAT THE HECK?? left me all groggy and sick and dying in the study lounge, didn’t even offer to help me pack my stuff or help me back up the building to my dorm or anything >:( so I slowly packed all my stuff, I had left my laptop open and glasses and trail mix on the table we were working on and my phone was charging by the outlet on the side of the couch. after I packed up, I slowly made my way back to my dorm, changed out of my gross clothes, and crashed onto my bed.

12:30pm - my roommates woke me up and noticed my face was red and I was burning with fever. they gave me Tylenol and some water and let me go back to sleep

2pm - my roommate wakes me up again to check in on how I’m feeling. My fever went down and I didn’t feel as sick, but my head was hurting and my body still felt so heavy. she offered to bring me back food but I ended up going out to get food with her, hoping that going outside would help with how I was feeling. it didn’t. it was hot. but it’s okay, at least I was able to get the teriyaki beef bowl from the pinch of flavor food truck. I also got my boyfriend food from the pacifico food truck. my roommate and I walked back to our dorm, where I stopped by my boyfriend’s dorm to drop off his food.

3pm - my boyfriend and I ate our meals together. I got a call from josh about a hangout we planned beforehand, but I let him know that I was not in good condition to go out today. I’m not sure if it was because of how sick I was feeling from the morning or maybe the food was bad, but I ended up vomiting what I ate and it was awful. I hate throwing up. My boyfriend took care of me and let me nap in his bed

5:30pm - I wake up feeling better than I did earlier. I went to go shower to wash off any ickiness i was feeling, hoping that the shower would also help soothe how sick I was. and it did! 10/10 shower I feel so great being not stinky

6pm - I start catching up on work to make up for all I missed from sleeping in today, and I am still currently catching up on work.

7:30pm - my boyfriend and I go to the study to get dinner. I had a pizza and water. Here’s my go-to pizza recipe from the study: smokey tomato sauce + mozzarella + pepperoni + mushroom + pineapple + basil — it’s so bomb. my bf also got pizza but he had scrims for valorant at 8pm so he left and I waited for our orders. once I saw our numbers on the pick up display screen, I picked up our food and walked back to our dorm. I went to his dorm to give him his food while he was playing in scrims, and I talked to his roommate for a bit about Taylor Swift’s upcoming releases looking more melodrama like Lorde’s music. we also talked about the Conan gray concert and how cool it looked. then I crawled into boybae’s bed, ate pizza while watching the trypod’s episode abt ned scandal, and continued to do work

11pm - A MONSTER BUG FLEW IN AND WE ALMOST BURNED THE ROOM DOWN WMCKWMCE yes the windows were open and a huge monster bug invited itself in and was crawling all along the ceiling and curtains. we got the RAs on our floor to come help us out and they SQUISHED IT in a napkin but we were all screaming in da process, they even made a gadget to squish it with (vacuum stick + tape + napkin = godsend bug defender). the craziest part about it was that it DIDNT DIE from being squished, so the RA who helped us put it in a ziplock bag and all the RAs from the other floors came to see and the hallway was just ecstatic. the RA released the monster bug back into the wild, but it’ll most likely get eaten soon because it’s bag leg got ripped off when it got smushed :(

overall I rate today a 6/10! -2 for sicky icky feeling, -2 for monster bug, +6 for spending time with my best friend/roommate and boyfriend and chatting with my mom bc it’s my uncle’s bday (he would’ve turned 40 today)
