i kissed a girl // logan sargeant
summary: logan should have known better than to kiss the college girl at that dive bar. especially when to the untrained eye, she looked like she had a boyfriend already
pairing: logan sargeant x female reader
warnings: bar fight, nicholas latifi gets punched in the face, miscommunication. alcohol based bad decisions. logan also gets punched once or twice. y/n isn't taking any of his shit.
making fun of him is so easy and also so much fun-
author's note: this is pure satire, this is a joke. please do not take it seriously. it’s not that deep.
please do not take this seriously.
austin, texas. october 2022.
"i'm sorry, again, about taking your seat next year."
across the booth, nicholas latifi grumbled, reaching for his beer bottle. "somebody was going to take it eventually. i just wish i'd had more time."
the drivers for the williams formula one team were sitting in the middle of a dive bar following the free practice sessions on friday morning. there was an air of unease among the group, an awkward bit of tension between logan sargeant and nicholas latifi, on edriver coming in to take the other's place.
"he doesn't even have his super license yet, mate." jack aitken shook his head. "there's still hope for you yet, i don't think jost has a backup plan."
alex albon chuckled. "good old jost. he's retiring, you know. he doens't want people knowing until the season is over."
nicky sighed softly, raising his bottle of corona. "to jost."
"to jost!" the other three drivers echoed, clinking the bottles together.
a country song roared in the background, a group of girls in tight jeans and cowboy hats gathered around a pool table, guys in tight white shirts and cowboy boots at the bar. it was the most texan joint in the whole of texas. there wasn't a single meal that didn't have red meat in it.
and that's when he saw her, out of the corner of his eye, walking into the bar in a tight denim jacket, the collar of a white buttoned shirt poking out over the top, a pair of suede booties on her feet as she shyly meandered over to the bar.
"dude," alex laughed. "she's so not your type."
"fuck off, alex." logan glowered. "i'm just lookin'."
"she looks like she'd punch him in the face if he tried to talk to her." nicky remarked.
logan rolled his eyes. "no she doesn't."
"she has that 'i hate everybody' look on her face."
"i'm settling this." logan shook his head, placing his bottle of corona back on the table. "i'm going to buy her a drink."
"and you think that's really going to work, mr. questionable family ties and cocky american charm?" jack snickered.
tuning out his teammates, logan slid out of the booth as a kid rock song began to play. the girl was alone at the bar, her muscular escort in the back playing a round of pool with some college students that he appeared to know.
clearing his throat, logan took a seat at the barstool next to her.
"that seat is taken." her voice was deeper than he expected, her texan drawl faint. "i don't appreciate it when strange men in bars, where the entire counter seating section is empty, decide to sit right next to me without asking first.
"my apologies." logan dialed up the charm, extending his arm for a handshake. "logan sargeant, future williams f1 driver."
this got her attention.
she swiveled in her seat, raising her eyebrows. her skin was washed purple under the bar lights. up close, logan was wondering if maybe she really was his type.
"i've heard about you, sargeant. you're a pay driver. williams' last hope. i know my shit, and i know that guys like you don't date girls like me."
logan leaned against the bar, trying to pretend that he couldn't hear nicholas, alex and jack laughing at him from the booth. "what do you mean 'guys like me'?"
"cocky florida frat boys who think they're entitled to everything because they have money. and i'm the quiet, independent type who was raised better than to think that dating a man with money would solve all of my problems." she smiled sweetly, playing with the straw in her soft drink. cherry coke, if logan was pressed to make a guess.
she didn't even fucking drink. and he didn't know what to say.
maybe he liked being put in his place.
or maybe he was just looking for a fight.
she laughed. "cat got your tongue, sargeant? god, you're just as shallow as i thought. the kind of television character i'd enjoy making fun of."
"who said i was looking for a relationship? even just a first date?"
"i don't do one night stands. nice try, though."
back at the booth, the other three williams drivers could hardly contain their laughter.
"look at how red he is!" nicholas latifi panted. "she really put him in his place."
alex raised an eyebrow "i think he's enjoying it a little too much, if you know what i mean."
"this has been fun, logan. you're a real charmer, even though i've done all the talking." the mystery girl said, gathering her jacket in her arms and moving to get off the barstool. "but i came here with someone, and we were actually waiting for a table to open up next door."
"is he your boyfriend? you're too good for him."
it was just supposed to be a line. but as he said it, logan was realizing that it was the truth.
"maybe he is, maybe he isn't. what's it to you?"
logan grinned. "i just think you're really pretty."
he shouldn't have done it. every synapse in his body was telling him not to do it. but impulse control and good-decision-making, especially while drunk has never been logan's forte.
so when he kissed her, he should have known there would be consequences.
for a moment, it felt like she was kissing him back. but it's not like he could explore that feeling before his body was yanked away from hers.
"who the fuck do you think you are?" the man in the muscle tank and sweats barked at the driver, who was likely only half the body weight of the tattooed muscle man standing across from him.
"look, i don't want any trouble, dude. she kissed me back!"
she rolled her eyes. "manolo, knock it off."
the bar quieted, the last bars of 'all summer long' fading out. y/n didn;t trust people who knew all the words to more than one kid rock song, and logan looked like the type who had memorized 'all summer long'. that's not to say that she didn't think it might be fun to mess around with him for a little, never going too far or getting too serious.
but the line to 'serious' had been crossed when manolo forgot that he was a family friend, not her older brother.
"no, i won't knock it off, y/n! he kissed you even after you said you were already here with someone."
"don't make a scene!"
nobody was sure who acted first.
it could have been logan, who was just trying to get his polo shirt free from manolo's fingers and accidentally headbutted the man in the arm. it could have been manolo, who'd hold on logan's shirt quickly became a punch in the jaw.
but that's when all hell broke loose.
nicky and jack jumped up from the table to try and separate the two men, just as logan threw his first punch.
nicholas latifi just happened to be the unfortunate fucker who pushed logan back when manolo retaliated, with the canadian catching a fist to the nose.
"that wasn't very nice!" he shouted, holding his now-bleeding face as alex joined the fray, pulling logan back from the italian.
"manolo, stop!" y/n shouted, standing in the middle of the fray. "let's just go."
she watched manolo leave, mumbling and huffing to himself about how men should know better than to make moves on girls who so clearly aren't interested.
not to say that y/n wasn't mildly intrigued by the florida man, but she wouldn't go as far as to say she was interested.
"sorry about manolo. he forgets his place sometimes. and you should learn yours, sargeant." she grinned. "it's at the back of a twenty car grid, bottom of the wdc. i'll see you on the big screen, pay driver."
"thanks for making my night more interesting."
"dude," alex chuckled. "you were in way over your head."
"shut up!"

𓏲 * ( paul mescal, cismale, he/his ) ⸺ pictures of ATTICUS REID, the twenty-eight year old photographer, have been showing up all over my feed, and considering the last time they were #trending, it was due to posting embarrassing poetry about his ex on instagram — i’m not likely to unfollow anytime soon. with their plain white tee threaded with the finest cotton, levi 501s cuffed at the ankle, doc marten suede slingbacks & an ancient denim jacket that smells of cigarettes. they’ve managed to garner a reputation for being more vehement than reticent. their critics say that they’re more saturnine than cabalistic when they aren’t too busy focusing on their at a freshly popped! cork, crimson sloshes into a glass ,musk and berry hesitates before the syrupy acidity slips across your tongue, & the thunderstorm that brews between furrowed brows is a treacherous one, a magpie will see shine and expect something fantastical but those up close know better than to entertain riches. an abandoned shoreline. easy. breathe. those golden spectacles that pry into your toes and make home there for weeks. a deep breath as the tide washes away. bitterness - coffee, wine - he is not for the faint - hearted as he is not one of faint heart. malignants dance around his bed frame with taunts that fall from spiked tongues, blood is drawn until you awake with a start. reputation.com has taken to calling them SPACE COWBOY in order to avoid a lawsuit ( again ). ──
𝐢
his story starts washed in crimson; the sky burns with the knowledge of heartbreak, a shattered muscle torn from the chest and crumbled into pulp across the width of a fist. it’s not a dark and stormy night when atticus is placed upon the steps of an orphanage buried deep in the veins of new york, his awakening limbs wrapped up in plaid blankets like the opening scene of a hollywood picture. the sun fizzles, pride has made way for humility as darkness sweeps in, the stoic buzz of the cicadas steady in the evening breeze. a city that never sleeps is stirring, the streets alive with unfinished romances and subdued goodbyes. it’s parents who he’ll never get to know that slink into the shadows, press the doorbell and run because running is all they’ve ever known. he doesn’t cry as he’s lifted into strange arms, coddled by the strength of a bicep. it’s almost as if he’s aware, even in his innocence, that this feeling will become all too familiar to him, to fall in love brilliantly but fleetingly.
𝐢𝐢 but life never seems to reflect the glitz and glamour of the movies; he learns this firsthand; the city is disgusting - a rotting corpse of the age of romance. he grows up under multiple roofs - the people who take him in more cruel and gluttonous than the next, ruled by the exchange of power as though the world is held in the fists of people who like to break things; he watches through tired eyes as dreams are crushed and devoured beneath the tongue of the devil. the skylines are drained of hope, a lacklustre enthusiasm seeps from the pores of the street and rusts the ground with a filmy layer of melancholy. he spends his childhood with families who will never love him because they can’t love themselves - it’s a blur of melancholy & an ache in his bones, he feels more alone than ever.
𝐢𝐢𝐢 he finds solace behind the cool metallic touch of a camera ; had fallen for the lens from a young age, capturing life’s most beautiful ugly moments - crooked teeth and broken hearts, greetings & goodbyes, scars and bruises, tear stained cheeks and crinkled eyes. he has a talent for it too, and the portraits he posts on social media of his friends soon begin to create traction. it’s always people he photographs, rather than places or products, uses a soft hand to coax his models into vulnerability, his pictures always hauntingly delicate.
𝐢𝐯
currently freelances but has done shoots for various vogues, paper, rolling stone, the new yorker etc.
personality wise he is kind of mysterious.. doesn’t really talk about his past which he is slightly hardened by, but he’s also a LOVER BOY so he can be naive/co-dependent when it comes to relationships… he definitely looks for the good/beauty in everything.
a good friend to have, always has a j*int in the pocket of his jeans or tucked behind his ear.
has a hard case of imposter syndrome
terrified everybody is going to leave him one day :(
definitely has an instagram like c*le spr*use of pictures of people taking pictures of him
#wealth.intro#can u tell @ which point i ran out of steam im SORRY! i just wanted to get something up <3

I very much want to hear about the insane thrift haul!
omg OK so for context i love thrifting but i own wayyyy too many clothes so i have been good lately and have NOT been thrifting. however!!! the weekend before last i ruined my fav jeans (not thrifted) and rly needed to replace them because i wore them constantlyyyyy. so i went to my fav thrift store (which i frequent so often i know the staff by name L M A O) and my expectations were honestly low—
because these were like the PERFECT jeans. ankle length, baggy, high waist, ACTUAL denim w no stretch, in a nice light wash. they were expensive when i bought them—but they lasted me FOREVER and i wore the HELL out of them—and i knew i could get another pair but thought i'd tryyyy to find them thrifted just on the off chance.
i like to thrift jeans in the men's section as they are often better quality, actual denim, and vintage, plus they're usually priced more reasonably than women's clothes. and as soon as i stepped up to the rack i found basically. an EXACT REPLICA. of my favourite jeans. EXCEPT!!! THEY ARE ACTUAL VINTAGE!! in perfect condition. the thrift store doesn't have fitting rooms so i had to take a gamble on them but when i got them home and tried them on they were a PERFECT fit too. they're probably from the 80s/early 90s based on the brand and tag and i swear to god they fit like they were MADE for me. and i paid less than the price of a 6-inch subway sandwich for em.
i was riding a real high after finding these, so then i braved the women's section where i found:
a GORGEOUS midi dress. it's not vintage but it's from a nice brand WITH THE ORIGINAL TAGS STILL ON IT?? it has with short sleeves, a tie-belted waist, a pleated skirt, and it's a light cornflower blue with a pretty floral pattern!!
THEN!! i found an absolutely unreallllllll vintage, faux-suede-ish 2-piece co-ord set in a rly rly nice camel-y toffee colour. it has a pair of high waist, wide leg trousers + a button-down overshirt kind of top (it also had shoulder pads and beading all along the collar and pockets of the shirt, but i have since removed those lmaooooo.) it is a little bit yee haw but i'm SOOOOOOOO into it and it fits me PERFECTLY.
then i was getting rly bold so i was like ok lets check the ladies pants section just to see what's up. i found a nice (non-vintage) ecru coloured pair of jeans: high waist, wide leg, good quality denim. they didn't look worn at all. i didn't quite recognize the brand enough to say whether or not they were actually ""good"" but i was like fuck it we ball and got them too. i get them home, look up the brand. these jeans... are basically brand new..... still available on the manufacturer's website........ for $118 United States of American dollars.
i also got a little wicker basket for my board games if that is of interest to u... but that one is not as exciting hehe.
END OF THRIFT HAUL if u made it this far i LOVE U

Project Alpha Cheech & Chong's Next Shoe
DIZYGOTIC releases the Cheech & Chong colorway of Project Alpha telling the story of the iconic comedy duo Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong's second movie in 1980: Cheech & Chong's Next Movie.
The release features a similar color but mismatched materials with various elements belonging to the outfits worn by Cheech and Chong in their film "Cheech & Chong's Next Movie."
the mudguards are designed with Cheech's blue dotted shirt and Tommy's bandana with the exact same pattern as the ones they wore in the original film in 1980.
the heels are made of faux sheepskin and corduroy to showcase Tommy Chong's sheepskin vest and Cheech Marin's beanie in the movie, with Cheech & Chong embroideries in the center.
the real horsehair is used to reflect Cheech's second character Cousin Red's grey animal skin coat and red wild-looking hair. Cousin Red’s turquoise jewelry is evoked by the inclusion of a brooch.
A washed denim material is implemented all across the right shoe to pay tribute to Tommy's classic denim worn throughout the movie.
the velvet shoe lining demonstrates the symbolic fluffy car dashboard and the red curtains from the van in the movie.
The insoles are printed with Cheech & Chong's famous lowrider van decal, where the duo gained more respect by changing their original "Copycat Productions" into a true warrior-angel in the movie - a kind message said to friends and brethren alike is printed across both insoles.
A pair of "Ain't that a peach" napkin cloth inserts, which are inspired by one of the funniest magic scenes performed by the duo, is included in the shoes.
Project Alpha Cheech and Chong features an all-premium top-grain pigskin suede upper, with a perforated suede toe box and Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong embroideries reflecting their classic movie characters. The pair features a mismatched material design and also an asymmetrical design on the lateral and medial sides. The insoles also boast memory foam lining and their famous movie components on both insoles. Strobel boards above the midsoles come with mismatched logo prints. Mismatched color Vibram megagrip outsoles provide additional stability and durability. Each pair is handmade in Nectar Lab instead of an assembly line.

Friend, let me teach you, then. Cotton mixes don't need to be ironed and most synthetics don't either.
Never iron silk or satin unless it is creased because you run the risk of burning it. (If you must - low temp, slow, with an ironing cloth between the iron and the silk.)
Linen does need ironing, denim does not. YMMV with other stiff fabrics like drill, corduroy and canvas.
Stretchy materials like elastane, nylon and rayon do not need ironing. You will actually reduce it's functionality if you try because the heat does weird shit to the elastic and shortens the life of the garment.
Fucking don't iron wool unless you know what you're doing. It can potentially burn your house down, particularly wool that has not been treated to be flame retardant. And if you use too much water, it will shrink and warp weirdly.
Flannel does not need to be ironed. Neither does terrycloth.
Suit jackets should not be ironed - they should be steam-cleaned or dry cleaned depending upon the material they are made of.
Leather does not need to be ironed and you will damage it if you try. Same is true for pleather, suede and fake suede. Please do not try and wash these materials with water. You will fuck them up.
You can try to iron (faux, for the love of GOD, faux) fur if you want, but you'll be picking hair out of your iron for the next five times you try to iron.
Unless you are actively making a garment usually just letting it hang will get rid of minor wrinkles, and most fabrics (if you hang or fold them straight out of the dryer) will not crease in any significant way.
If you are making a garment, iron the SHIT out of it at every step. You will get a much better fitted garment at the end of it.
And yes, I am totally ignoring your collapse of civilisation nihilism.

When it comes to modern wardrobes, versatility is key. We all want outfits that look stylish without sacrificing comfort. The smart casual jacket is a perfect staple for those who value a combination of sophistication and ease. A great jacket can easily transition from the office to a dinner party or a weekend getaway. It offers enough style to impress without the stiffness of formal wear, while still maintaining that polished look.
With so many options out there, finding the right smart casual jacket can feel a little overwhelming. What makes one perfect for every occasion, from an informal meeting to a laid-back night with friends? To help you out, we’ve rounded up five jackets that fit the bill, highlighting what makes each of them so indispensable. These jackets bring together comfort, functionality, and impeccable style, making them your go-to options no matter where you’re headed.
1. The Classic Bomber Jacket
The bomber jacket is perhaps one of the most versatile smart casual jackets you could ever have in your wardrobe. With its origins in aviation, it was originally designed for fighter pilots, which gives it that effortlessly cool vibe. The smart casual jacket trend has seen the bomber jacket evolve into an iconic piece of outerwear that looks great whether you’re dressing up or down.
One of the key reasons the bomber jacket is a must-have is because of its streamlined silhouette. The snug fit around the cuffs and waist offers a structured yet relaxed feel. Bomber jackets come in a wide range of fabrics—suede, leather, cotton, and even satin—allowing you to choose the material that best suits your lifestyle and the weather. It can be paired just as easily with dark denim and a crisp tee as it can with chinos and a collared shirt. Throw it over a sweater in the colder months or keep it light in spring. The bomber jacket’s adaptability makes it the perfect investment for your wardrobe.
2. The Versatile Denim Jacket
No list of smart casual jackets would be complete without mentioning the timeless denim jacket. It’s an iconic piece that has stayed relevant for decades, thanks to its durability and flexibility. While denim might initially come off as casual, the right fit and pairing can easily elevate it into the smart casual territory. A well-tailored denim jacket can add a rugged charm to an otherwise refined outfit, bringing a touch of laid-back appeal.
To create a more sophisticated look, consider choosing a jacket in a darker wash. Dark indigo is incredibly versatile and pairs well with everything from a polo shirt and tailored trousers to a casual button-down and jeans for that classic double-denim look. The denim jacket’s ability to add an edge without compromising elegance is why it’s a must-have for any smart casual wardrobe. Whether you're out for a casual lunch or heading to an evening event, a denim jacket brings both comfort and flair to your ensemble.

3. The Tailored Blazer
When you want to bridge the gap between smart and casual, a tailored blazer is one of your best options. The smart casual jacket category wouldn’t be complete without the perfect blazer that effortlessly lifts your look. It’s a garment that says you mean business but still know how to have fun. The right blazer has the power to take your outfit up several notches, transforming even the simplest pieces into a chic ensemble.
Opt for an unstructured blazer in soft fabrics like cotton or linen for a relaxed vibe. The lack of shoulder padding gives it a laid-back, comfortable feel without losing its classy edge. Neutral colors such as navy, gray, or beige are ideal for pairing with a range of clothing options, from dress shirts and chinos to a simple t-shirt and jeans. The tailored blazer is perfect for those times when you want to look sharp, but not overly formal, and it’s a true staple for smart casual occasions.
4. The Utility Jacket
The utility jacket, sometimes known as the field jacket, is ideal for those who want practicality without compromising on style. Its roots lie in military wear, which makes it incredibly functional, yet it has evolved to become an everyday essential for modern wardrobes. Utility jackets usually feature multiple pockets, a relaxed fit, and a durable build, making them a great choice for layering and adding depth to your outfit.
This jacket is perfect for transitional weather and has a rugged, outdoor charm. It’s best in earth tones like olive green, khaki, or dark brown, which make it easy to mix and match. The utility jacket looks fantastic paired with jeans and a light sweater, or even over a button-down shirt for an easygoing but put-together look. Its combination of comfort, functionality, and refined ruggedness makes it a favorite for those who want to balance utility and style.
5. The Suede Jacket
Few jackets feel as luxurious as the suede jacket. There’s something about the softness and richness of suede that makes this piece ideal for smart casual attire. Suede jackets add an instant touch of sophistication to any outfit, giving off an air of effortless elegance. The key with a suede jacket is to keep the rest of the outfit simple, letting the rich texture of the suede take center stage.
You can choose a classic biker-style suede jacket for an edgier look or opt for a clean-cut, minimalist design that focuses more on the fabric's luxury. Warm neutral shades like tan or camel are particularly appealing and add warmth to an outfit. Pair it with a roll-neck sweater, jeans, and loafers, and you have a timeless smart casual look that’s perfect for a dinner out or a relaxed gathering. While suede might require a bit more maintenance than other fabrics, its rich, stylish appeal makes it well worth the effort.
How to Choose the Right Smart Casual Jacket for You
With so many great smart casual jackets to choose from, how do you decide which one is right for you? A lot of it depends on your personal style, climate, and the situations you’re likely to find yourself in. Here are a few tips to help you make the perfect choice:
Consider the Occasion: The jacket you choose should match the event you’re attending. A tailored blazer might be ideal for a work meeting, while a utility jacket is more suited to a day out with friends. Think about the context in which you’re going to wear your jacket and choose accordingly.
Think About Fabric: The fabric of your jacket plays a huge role in determining its versatility and comfort. Cotton and linen blazers are great for warmer weather, while suede and leather work well for cooler months. Denim and utility jackets are suitable year-round depending on how you layer them.
Prioritize Fit: No matter which type of jacket you choose, fit is paramount. The right fit can make all the difference between looking polished or sloppy. Make sure the jacket sits well on your shoulders, the sleeves are the right length, and it’s neither too tight nor too loose.
Stick to Neutral Colors: Neutral colors such as black, navy, gray, and beige are far more versatile and can be mixed and matched with a variety of outfits. While bold colors are fun, they can sometimes limit how often you wear the jacket.
Tips on Styling Your Smart Casual Jacket
Layering: Smart casual jackets are perfect for layering. Throw a denim or bomber jacket over a hoodie for a casual look, or wear a blazer over a turtleneck for a more elevated style. Layering adds depth to your outfit and makes it more interesting.
Mix Textures: When wearing smart casual jackets, mixing textures can create a stylish, well-thought-out look. For instance, a suede jacket pairs beautifully with a lightweight cashmere sweater, while a cotton blazer looks sharp over a crisp Oxford shirt.
Footwear Matters: Your choice of shoes can make or break your smart casual outfit. Pair your jacket with loafers or Chelsea boots for a dressier look, or opt for clean sneakers to keep it casual but polished. Footwear helps tie the entire look together, so choose wisely.
Why You Need a Smart Casual Jacket in Your Wardrobe
Smart casual jackets are more than just an added layer of warmth. They represent a versatile middle ground that allows you to express your personal style without being confined to strict dress codes. Whether you’re looking to make a statement, stay comfortable, or simply complete your outfit, the right jacket is indispensable.
By investing in smart casual jackets like the bomber, denim, tailored blazer, utility, and suede, you’ll always have the right option for every occasion. These jackets not only add a touch of elegance but also embody practicality, comfort, and style—a winning combination that will have you reaching for them time and again. Denim Shirts: A Fresh Twist on Festive Fashion
When it comes to festive fashion for men, denim shirts may not be the first option that springs to mind. Traditionally seen as casual, everyday wear, denim shirts are now making waves as a stylish and versatile choice for holiday outfits. With a few clever styling tweaks, they can be transformed into festive, modern looks perfect for holiday gatherings, parties, or even cozy celebrations at home.
Here’s how to put a fresh, festive twist on men’s denim shirts, turning them into a key player in your holiday wardrobe.
Why Denim Shirts Are Great for Festive Occasions
Denim shirts are the unsung heroes of men’s fashion, offering a balance between rugged charm and polished appeal. Their adaptability makes them ideal for the festive season, where comfort meets style. With a little creativity, denim shirts can easily transition from casual to holiday-ready.
Here’s why denim shirts work well for festive looks:
Versatility: Denim shirts can be paired with a wide range of outfits, from tailored trousers to casual chinos, making them easy to adapt for different festive settings.
Comfort and Style: While denim shirts are stylish, they’re also incredibly comfortable, making them perfect for long holiday gatherings.
Effortlessly Cool: Denim shirts bring an easy, laid-back vibe, which can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion, ensuring you look stylish without trying too hard.
How to Style Denim Shirts for the Festive Season
Transforming a men’s denim shirt into a festive look is all about pairing it with the right items and adding seasonal accessories. Here are a few outfit ideas to help you make the most of this wardrobe staple:
Denim Shirt with a Blazer
Pairing a denim shirt with a tailored blazer is one of the easiest ways to dress up your look for a holiday party. Opt for a slim-fit denim shirt in a darker wash and layer it under a well-fitted blazer in festive tones like deep burgundy, forest green, or classic black. This combination adds a touch of refinement while maintaining the rugged charm of denim. Finish the look with tailored trousers or dark jeans and a pair of polished leather shoes for a smart-casual holiday outfit.
Layered with a Sweater
For a cozy, winter-ready festive look, try layering your denim shirt with a chunky knit sweater. Opt for a sweater in a neutral color like grey, cream, or navy, allowing the collar and cuffs of the denim shirt to peek out. This layered look is perfect for a family gathering or a casual holiday dinner, combining warmth with effortless style. Complete the outfit with dark jeans or chinos and a pair of casual boots or loafers.
Denim Shirt with a Wool Coat
Give your denim shirt a festive twist by layering it under a stylish wool coat. Choose a classic coat in charcoal, navy, or camel to add a sophisticated touch to the casual denim shirt. This outfit works beautifully for more formal holiday events, especially when paired with tailored trousers and sleek dress shoes. You can also add a scarf in a festive color to enhance the holiday vibe while staying warm and stylish.
Denim Shirt with Tartan or Plaid Trousers
Tartan or plaid trousers are synonymous with holiday fashion, and pairing them with a denim shirt creates a stylish, festive look. Opt for a well-fitted denim shirt in a lighter or mid-wash to balance the boldness of the plaid trousers. This pairing works best for casual holiday events, giving off a relaxed yet festive vibe. Add a pair of suede loafers or boots to complete the outfit.
Double Denim with a Festive Twist
Double denim, also known as the Canadian tuxedo, can work for the festive season when styled right. Pair a light-wash denim shirt with dark-wash denim jeans for a contrasting look. To make it more festive, add a statement belt, a wool scarf, and a tailored coat in a festive color like maroon or emerald green. This modern take on double denim is perfect for casual holiday gatherings where you want to stand out without going over the top.
Festive Accessories to Elevate Your Denim Shirt
Accessories can take your denim shirts for men from casual to festive in an instant. Here are a few ways to add holiday flair to your look:
Statement Scarves: A scarf in a bold color or festive print can instantly elevate a denim shirt. Opt for wool or cashmere scarves in deep reds, greens, or even patterns like tartan to bring a seasonal touch.
Ties and Bow Ties: For a more polished festive look, consider adding a tie or bow tie to your denim shirt. Choose materials like silk or velvet in rich, holiday hues to contrast with the rugged texture of denim.
Festive Footwear: The right shoes can make a big difference. For more formal occasions, opt for leather brogues or loafers, while suede boots work well for casual gatherings. A pop of color or a unique texture in your footwear can enhance the festive feel.
Mixing Textures for a Holiday-Ready Look
One of the easiest ways to make a denim shirt festive is by mixing textures. Denim pairs well with rich, luxurious fabrics like velvet, wool, and corduroy, adding depth to your outfit. For example:
Pair a denim shirt with velvet trousers for a sophisticated look with a hint of holiday luxury.
Layer your denim shirt under a wool blazer or corduroy jacket for a combination of textures that feels festive and stylish.
Playing with textures gives your outfit a refined, festive twist while keeping things visually interesting.
Denim Shirts for Different Festive Occasions
Denim shirts can be styled for various holiday events, from casual family gatherings to more formal holiday parties. Here’s how to adapt them for different occasions:
Casual Holiday Brunch: For a laid-back holiday brunch, pair a denim shirt with chinos and sneakers. Layer with a cardigan or sweater for a cozy, casual vibe.
Office Holiday Party: For a smart-casual office holiday party, pair a denim shirt with a blazer and tailored trousers. Add a festive tie or scarf for a seasonal touch.
Christmas Eve Dinner: For a stylish yet comfortable look, pair a denim shirt with dark jeans and a wool coat. Accessorize with a statement belt and loafers to complete the look.
Denim Shirts in Festive Colors
If you really want to embrace the holiday spirit, consider opting for denim shirts in festive shades beyond the traditional blue. Dark green, burgundy, or even blue denim shirt men can give your outfit a unique twist while still maintaining the casual cool of denim. These colors are perfect for holiday parties and events where you want to stand out without sacrificing comfort.
Conclusion:
Denim shirts are the perfect base for creating a variety of festive looks. With their versatility and timeless appeal, they can be easily dressed up or down for any holiday occasion. Whether you’re layering them under a blazer, pairing them with bold accessories, or mixing textures for a more refined look, denim shirts are a fresh and unexpected addition to your festive wardrobe.
So, this holiday season, don’t shy away from breaking out your denim shirt. With the right styling, you’ll be able to create stylish, comfortable, and festive outfits that showcase your personal style. Denim may just become your new holiday go-to!
