I've never actually played fire red or leaf green myself but I started with gen 3 also! Hoenn will always have a special place in my heart, even though there's not too much to do once you get past the league. Kiki is such a cute name! FR/LG isn't exactly top tier to me since my expectations stood higher as R/S/E was my first game, but to know that this is supposed to be the first ever game to represent Pokemon (well it's a remake but shh) feels justified haha so I can't say it's not reccomended to try it out sometime! if that makes sense.
