I recieved a copy of the new Werewolf: the Apocalypse corebook in the mail the other day, which is a bit exciting. Sadly, I couldn't do as many pictures for W:tA as I did for Hunter: the Reckoning because my wrists are messed up. But I got to do some, and I think this one is my favourite.
All my W:tA illustrations belong to Paradox Interactive.

Background beneath the cut - cw abuse
Klea Tends-the-hidden was born as a lupus to non-garou parents. One of the few wolf packs to still roam the Balkans, she lived a relatively isolated life. She was the runt of her litter, but possessed and unnatural cunning compared to her littermates, and was able to eke out a humble existence, and, eventually, ran away from her pack, where she started a new one with another lone wolf.
During her first pregnancy with a litter of cubs, Klea was captured by a group of poachers, following her curious interactions with one of their traps. However, she was caught, given her unfamiliarity with their methods. Caged, angered, she felt the rage boil up within her.
An hour later, a naked pregnant woman was found, in the snow, near the wreckage of a pickup truck which had fallen into a ravine. Unable to speak a human language and covered in blood, she was taken to a local hospital, where, in a stroke of luck, the nurse operating the ultrasound noticed the litter of wolf cubs in her belly. The kinfolk called the local sept, the House of Thunder, and they came and promply picked up the newly changed Garou, and helped teach her their ways.
Her cubhood was rough, to say the least, and she often faced derison and abuse, especially at the hand of the sept's men. She left the sept before she could be inducted into the Shadow Lords, and fled down to Greece, where she found a refuge and acceptance among the Children of Gaia, Black Furies, and Bone Gnawers. She ran with them for a year, learning a little bit about human society, and picking up an eclectic set of anarchist-oriented politics, and finding a love for music.
Eventually, she was drawn to visit America through a visit from Pegasus in her dreams, who told her that she must, once again, tend to the hidden things.

Back in 2021/2022 I GMed a Werewolf: The Apocalypse Game. I would think it went well as it lasted a year (with us playing once a week give or take) and only had one player drop out.
Here are the two 'main' antagonists. I say main as they where the most involved, I had 3 other bads on top of theses: Roxxy, another Black Spiral, Johanna, a Hunter and Ichika, a Kitsune.
Twin-Tongue, also known as Alaster Redgrave. A Theurge.
His counter part is a Ahroun. Looking back I think I could of made his character a bit more interesting, but the players really took a shine to Al, Roxxy and Ichika.

A Thunderwyrm Approaches
In Session 6, an elder garou has died in the service of Gaia at Sept of the Trillium Glade. Painted-Hills, the only temper on the Hammer Butte Hunters, was killed in the Newberry Caldera while witnessing a fellow wolf-born garou complete his Rite of Passage. When the players heard this audio, they all grew to move towards this source, confused that it would suddenly die down. When a thunderwyrm hatchling surfaced, they were surprised at how small it was, and the cub, aided by their berserk frenzied den mother Culls-the-Tainted, took it down with ease. Little did the gathered garou know, this hatchling was merely trying to outrun a much, much larger one. Bird Audio: CC-BY mchekic "milancekic"

An angry Garou I put together real quick last weekend
If you're into werewolves and TTRPGs, you should check out Werewolf: the Essentials! They put together an amazing team of artists and writers to create something very badass and queer inclusive
I had a lot of fun drawing this one. This is exactly the sort of thing I used to draw in high school trying to mimic the art style in the W:tA books, except this time I was drawing it with an extra 20 years of experience behind me. Teen me would lose their mind over this drawing

What the WtA Index is, and what it can do for you!
So alright. What on earth is this Index? What's it going to be any good for? Let's find out!
Legacy WtA is big. It stretches thirty years, four editions, and my list of pertinent sources for the game (not even complete yet!) numbers over 200. Newer books are easily searched if you have a PDF, but older ones not so much - especially if the subject you're looking for is referred to in oblique ways that don't provide a handy key search term. And even with the newer PDFs, you gotta know to even check in the first place!
So I've been trawling through the books, keeping page numbers about subjects as they arise. As an example, here's the current entry for "Ahroun", an admittedly very simple subject with frequent mentions:
Holy moly! Of course, they're not all that huge. You get entries with only one source, or cute little ones like this:
For anyone working on a W:tA project, the benefits should be pretty clear. Finding obscure references will be considerably easier. That's my goal - to offer a powerful resource to talented creators for the (very flawed) game that I love so dearly.
Now, the index is far from ready for release. I have many more books to process, and a lot of choices to make about how to organize entries, what terms to file certain things under, and formatting. So while I'll offer these glimpses behind the scenes as to what the index looks like, I don't release the files - yet. Someday!
So what good is it doing you in the meantime? Well, I won't let you go rummaging through the index yourself just yet, but I'll happily rummage through it for you, making reference pulls for a given subject. Here's an example of references to Wales that I made for someone. Currently not a lot there in the books I've indexed (I imagine this'll get a lot longer once I hit Tribebook: Fianna Revised!) but it's easy to update as I go. If there's a subject you're looking for references to, feel free to let me know in an ask or message here on tumblr and I'll get to it when I'm between books!
Also, because I have been ordered to do this, and because of the capitalist hellscape, here's my tip jar. Note that tips are neither required nor expected for doing reference pulls, just appreciated!

THE WEREWOLF QUESTION
Hi guys as y’all can see I’m a huge fan of the world of darkness (specifically the old world of darkness) and as I delve deeper and deeper into my 20 gigabytes of WOD PDFs I notice more and more outdated and outright offensive things that just scream “I was made in the 90s and parachute wrote my ass off”
Parachute writing is a bitch (which is why you always consult others that are more well educated in the culture than you)
But that is besides the point, my first question regards a very controversial topic of Werewolf The Apocalypse, and that is the Uktena and the W*ndigo. (Primarily the latter as I want to focus on the name, from now on I will refer to this tribe as “Younger Brother”).
At first I was thinking that these names were to subvert the expectations, like the Get of Fenris of course referencing to Fenrir, a top notch dickhead in Norse mythos, (which is a lot considering most gods barring a couple are top notch dickheads… looking at you Odin.). But instead they are these strange protectors of the earth, while culturally they are known as the killer of odin, in reality they are the rivals of the evil odin (whom is possibly a vampire) that killed their tribe members, whilst also being a tribe that is adamant in preventing the apocalypse and fighting jormungandr (the wyrm) as much as they can.
(Small rant as I quickly educate myself why the fuck do they have a sub-tribe called the glorious fist of Wotan?!?!? DONT THEY HATE ODIN? ISNT WOTAN JUST THE DISAMBIGUATION OF THE WORD ODIN THAT WAS USED IN WAGNERS RING??? ? Ok. Yeah I’m gonna smash a table into pieces and eat the wood chips)
But now that I educate myself on the Younger Brother tribe in the WOD wiki, there doesn’t seem to be any subversion of expectations, its just a name some guy plastered on really quickly and it just ended up sticking because others thought it was cool. And if I’m being genuinely honest, a tribe of world protecting werewolves should not be named after such a thing.
There have been a good couple of posts I’ve seen that refer to this Younger Brother tribe and it’s controversy, but I have never seen one that offered a proper name for this misnamed Garou tribe. What do you all think? I’ve been planning on utilizing Garou into my world because I fucking love werewolves and I would love feedback on how to properly name this Garou tribe in a way that respects indigenous culture.
I feel like I will have a thread of posts like this because I want to depict W:TA 2e in a more respectful light (removing all the controversial and outright stupid gunk) whilst also helping all 5 of my mutuals depict them as well :). If you have gotten this far to read my crazy rambling, thank you so much I love u.

an apoc fan right?
so what do you think of werewolf the forsaken?
and have you heard d of Nagual the ingited?
You know it! My first tattoo (way back in 2002) was the Black Spiral Dancers tribe glyph :D
I didn't care much for Forsaken. I don't recall much of it but I remember getting the distinct impression that it was a bid to steer the type of RP that people did with the game in a specific direction that, in me experience, was not really what actual players were doing with W:TA.
In particular, I got the impression that they found out that furries loved W:TA and got big mad/embarrassed about it and tried to drive them off. It was honestly kinda funny.
I think given a fresh look, with the right group it maybe could be a lot of fun because I do adore horror TTRPGs. I just know I didn't like it much at first glance.
Haven't heard of Nagual; still have to Google that one!
