oh god ok much much thoughts i hope you don't mind my extremely rambly series of asks. first off, marius

I imagine Marius villain as that he wants to completely remake pax to be free of austin & giann's influence, and if he can't, destroy the company instead. because what if austin & giann never truly got over carenina's death?

austin subconsciously holds marius to the Giann Standard:tm: and is generally more absent in his life, sometimes ignoring marius' achievements (like winning the art competition at his school) for giann's events.

giann despises marius for taking away his mother, and makes no secret of that. austin doesn't notice (austin never notices), and only the staff saves marius from the worst of the bullying. (he would have died when he was six, if someone didn't alert giann. and even then, the saving was for the sake of his reputation, not because he genuinely cared about marius surviving)

but that doesn't matter now. as much as austin disliked him, he has no reason to return to the job. and even if austin really does suspect that marius took care of his brother (because he did. the body would never be found), and every conversation they have are a careful dance around the accusation, he would never know.

after all, his name starts with m. m for marius. (m for monster. and what can they say when the truth comes out? what can they say to a monster of their own making?)

one comment saying the sheet music is liebestraum which i was kinda also suspecting since structure is very similar but some of the measures don’t match up exactly (at least not against the copy of sheet music i have). however, the section behind vyn’s right shoulder is pretty much measure 25 and the part behind his left shoulder is close to m35-36. (which... is not a song that vyn wrote xDDD we’ll say he’s alluding to or remixing it for their purposes)

ok back to checking the sheet music (my priorities are exactly where they should be)

i think the two sheets here (behind his left shoulder and under his left hand) are the same page (which we said before was m35-36). it’s the only place in the song where the key signature change looks like that (in the upper right; it’s definitely the sharps pattern and not the flats) and the following sections match as well. so i think that pages goes like this:

line 1: m34-36 (and key change where five sharps are made natural)

line 2: m37-m39

line 3: m40-m42

line 4: m43-44 (not sure if that last note should have a slur tho)

it was kind of throwing me off earlier since some of the chords that would be octaves didn’t seem far apart enough on the card art, but maybe it’s a combo of perspective + shrunk down + artistic license

ok i can’t rly find a keepsake investigation video yet and i’m still just watching the interaction in the bg but this card is fine. i know i got really excited at one point but it’s because i’m especially interested in the plant motif (still have not fully stated what the exact reference was bc i’m sure i’ll point it out later). so far the cards feel like nice top-up cards (since those always make sure to have spicy/fanservice-y parts) that are trying hard to reference previous events. i checked the comments of BOTH vyn and marius videos and there was someone (different people!) asking which of the cards had a better story (because what they’d seen so far was disappointing).... does NOT bode well ufnfortunately

edit: i will say that these even feel a bit worse than top-up cards since those usually try to grapple with substantive potential issues in the relationship, while these anniv3 cards don’t. also still haven’t watched marius’s yet but yamashina jin just translated artem’s card and even she’s disappointed by the writing quality so like... widespread disappointment i suppose 😔

halfway through pt 2 and i’ve figured out how to describe how i’m feeling. you remember marius’s 1st birthday card when they were just kinda doing random things to fill up time in the plot? it’s kinda like that. (though it doesn’t have the weird ooc-ness of that card and it’s not as long)

ok so after the “reveal” of what artem is Actually up to, i do like the card more. i really like what his true plan, i just kind of dislike how MC is kept in the dark again. it’s not even bad this time around, like it’s very much a cute surprise between lovers, but i think that stuff in his engagement left a bad taste in my mouth about it and i didn’t want to see it again lol. also, i feel like it would have been cute if mc was the one to propose moving in together (just a random thought since for all the these, it was p much the LI bringing it up)

"Are you feeling better now?"

"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked earnestly.

"It's nothing, really, I've just been—" you sniffled. "—making, making so many mistakes at work, and I feel like I never do anything right anymore," your eyes starting to water again, your voice husky and about to break.

"[Name], wait, no…you don't want me to call me by your name, don't you?"

You were surprised he was able to tell.

"I guess…"

"Well then." he cleared his throat.

"Sweetheart," he said reluctantly, "do you remember when we had that really big science exam? back in school?"

You stayed silent, trying to remember, but he interrupted.

The memories, albeit a bit blurry, started to appear in your mind. 

"It's the same as before, sweetheart." he held your hand, seemingly easier for him to call you sweetheart.

"Although you probably don't remember a lot, I hope you remember that you got through that, you made it, you are here now with me, and you will get through anything and everything that comes your way. And it's still the same now, it's always been the same. I still believe in you, more than ever, and I will forever believe in you and be here for you as long as I live."

It was as if he took your heart in his hands and asked it what it wanted to hear. His words were perfect, so perfect, that you were overflowing with pure joy, and tears streamed down your face faster than ever before.

He entwined his arms around you again. Thank you, thank you, thank you, you wanted to scream, but all you could do was whisper broken strings of sentences with a trembling voice.

"I'm so glad—" you sniffled and inhaled sharply. "—I have you."

He pulled his head away from you and leaned into your face. Luke pressed a gentle kiss on your forehead, that lingered while he tangled and combed his fingers through your hair.

He withdrew his body from yours.

"Do you want me to make you something?"

You rubbed your eyes slowly.

"Sure. Oh, and—"

He stopped in his tracks, ready to clean up the cracked shards of the porcelain.

He softly smiled at you, and walked back in front of you.

Kneeling down, he held your hand with one arm and held your face with the other. He pulled you towards him, and kissed you deeply.

"What do you say we watch your favorite sappy movie? I have some mattresses we can spread out in front of here, and we can make a pillow fort, like when we were kids. Or, we can write mean letters to that teacher who always failed you in highschool and send them to the school. How 'bout that?"

festive games 2play with him and how i think that could actually play out in-universe

i love doing this, i love tryna figure out how minigames or certain game mechanic features wld be justified in-universe as a scene. like the boys in lost gold getting sent out to do the groceries except for luke who walks into the forest with an axe and comes back w an insane amount of chopped wood. or the tomb exploration in sott and how luke bringing frigging C4 or cartoon dynamite explosives into ancient ruins is hilariously way less useful than vyn who just does a mindfulness exercise for like 2 seconds and then regains the energy to dig for much longer. it's great. i love it. and the anniv minigames are my next target

these four have already all been classified as Festive Games which, in line with the event plot, makes me think these could all be festival games during the Stellis Anniversary Festival, and now im gonna make up some frigging games

I totally forgot to login over the weekend to do the birthday event for Vyn oops.

I really like the mechanics etc of the game, but its easy to forgot to log-in after a half hour to work thru the Travel. I'm a huge Vyn stan and I'm only on the "eat at a Svart resturant" travel lol.

Its been fun for sure, and again I'm enjoying the mechanics, but I kinda wish it was more like the first one, where I could have been done already with the tasks etc. Its ok mostly I guess but its. Interesting. I'm glad though that its different from the first birthday event.

Ah, welcome to the Themis Cat Cafe! Table for how many? Is this your first time here?

It is? Well, let me introduce you to some of our residents. They’re some of the best felines in town, nya~

First, here is our youngest and most mischievous, Marius. 

He is a Russian Blue of the highest pedigree, the only one of his kind in our humble store. I even have the documents to prove it!

Hm? How’d he end up here? Well...Marius’s previous owner was the head of the Pax group, you see. But since he had to move to Italy and couldn’t take him along, Mr. von Hagen decided to leave Marius in our care.

Strange, no? But, well...he and his brother used to frequent the cafe as children, as my predecessor liked to brag about. Maybe it was the memories, or maybe it was the coffee...but in any case, he seemed to be truly grateful to this place.

The place has certainly become all the brighter for it, though! Little Marius is quite the charmer. He has so many of our patrons cooing over him, no matter what he does. Even when he’s being a little menace.

You want an example? There was a time when Marius was really fascinated by a customer’s lipstick and wouldn’t stop swatting at it until it fell out of their hand. Guess what he did next?

Marius took the tube in his mouth and started scribbling all over the walls! Can you imagine? It took us a while to scrub everything clean, for sure. He certainly wasn’t happy we took down his masterpiece. But a few tummy rubs and everything was alright again. The customer didn’t really mind either, but I’m not sure if that was the effect of the purring or the constant headbutts.

Want a companion a bit on the quieter side though? Then Vyn’s the one for you.

Vyn here is a Turkish Angora, definitely the most beautiful of our residents. But don’t tell the others that, ok? They get jealous when I compliment one in particular for some reason.

As for how he came into our care...he actually came here himself.

Now I know that sounds weird, but Vyn really did come right in through the front door and made himself at home. He used to belong to one of the founders of the Giannovyn Mental Health Research Center, the doctor of the two in this case.

Dr. Richter joked back then that it looked like Vyn was looking for another home, but given that the doctor left for Svart and never came back about a month after our conversation...I wouldn’t be surprised if that really was the case. He misses him dearly though, you can especially tell when his ears perk up when classical music is played over the speakers.

Is Vyn really that smart? Oh, for sure. He took to the schedules for feeding and such quicker than most of our residents here, he knows where to find our missing things often...he can even hold a conversation or two with you, meowing or hissing at the right moments.

Vyn here always tries to help us out in any way he can, sometimes to a very unusual extent, like that time he stayed perched on the tops of the shelves for a week when our CCTV was down. But he definitely has good intentions at the heart of it all.

Now this one...he is definitely a long-time fan favorite among our regulars. Artem, come say hello.

Artem is a fine example of a Maine Coon, isn’t he? You won’t find any cat gentler than him. The thing about him though, was that he was here back when it first opened and yet he isn’t officially one of ours. 

His owner is someone with pretty unique circumstances. You know Chief Justice Wing’s son, that attorney with the 99% win rate? That’s Artem’s human...and it is that very detail that led Artem to staying with us almost full-time.

Mr. Wing is usually tied up in all manners of cases, local and international. Even if he supposedly has a partner in the firm now, I heard she’s about just as busy as he is. Even his parents are both so busy they can rarely catch a break these days. So that leaves him and the family with little time for Artem here...and that’s where we come in.

Artem stays with us six days in a week, from early morning to late at night. He was supposed to be kept in a separate room at first, since Mr. Wing mentioned he doesn’t really take well to crowds, even if they’re other cats. But one of our employees thought it would be better to have him out and about.

Turns out it was for the best. Artem’s been a calming influence on a lot of our more...hyperactive residents here, not to mention how our patrons love having him around. He’s definitely still keeping his distance for the most part, but he cares in his own shy way.

The fascination he has with water though...is definitely something none of us really understand. Maybe he was a swimmer in a past life?

Now, if you’re actually more of a dog person, you and Luke will get along just fine.

Luke likes you already, I see! He’s plenty friendly, even for a typical Abyssinian. But be prepared, though! This little one will talk your ear off and run you ragged if you let him...he deserves it though, after all he’d been through.

The detective running Time’s Antiquities brought him here one rainy afternoon, both of them soaked to the bone. Detective Pearce mentioned how he found the poor guy on the streets of South Stellis, scratched up like crazy and looking like he would collapse at any given moment. Luke was immediately rushed to the vet, thank goodness. But...well..

Luke here is sick, you see. Not in the way he can get other cats sick, though, that much is true. But as for the specifics...Detective Pearce looked like he would break into pieces when we tried to press for more details. All he would say about the matter was that Luke really needed a loving place to stay, hopefully surrounded by other friends.

When I asked why he couldn’t take care of Luke himself, the detective just laughed and opened his fanny pack...there was a bird inside, would you believe? Said the poor guy would be crazy jealous of Luke! I wonder how that little bird is doing now...

In any case, Luke here seems to have adjusted splendidly. Always curious, running off to whatever corner of the cafe he feels holds secrets. He’ll sometimes even drag the other cats into his pace, usually either Marius or that new Colorpoint Shorthair we have...if I remember right, the owner calls her ‘Rosa’.

A little rant because im having Vyn brainrot and I keep seeing a hate toward him

I wrote some interesting point I found out about Vyn... plz- give this man a chance * sobbing*

Ok,I know Vyn's first impression is "sus" and then after that I hate the fact that people just go "oh he is sus I dont care about him anymore bla bla bla" Like- some of them just don't even want to try to get to know this precious and sweet person name Vyn Richter! I saw some calling him a manipulator,Suspicious and even a predator(like tf???) Like yeah I get it some probably have a bad memory or stuff with this kind of topic but you didnt see me go around spreading hate and shitting on ○○○ because he is my least fav in the list.

I guess not everyone like a complicated and deep character like Vyn (yeah I notice this since I play MLQC and people least like Lucien and Victor)

Some good stuff about Vyn cause im tired af people hating him

-He is so sweet??? Like all the sidestory and personaly story I read he just want to be the best i front of MC???

-He will protect MC like??? Have you read the personal story and how furious he is when ○○○ want to touch and when MC didn't tell him that PUA start attacking her.

- I didn't play Ch server but I am really curious about his past... why does he look so sad when he saw a broken Items

- Vyn is a type of person that set a high expectation on himself and he is afraid to dissapoint others (you can see in Mercury di-de- desomething something card) like, love... plz- you are still a human go easy on yourself plz- even if you are not perfect I still love you

- He will do anything to appear* "perfect" infront of MC (the summer event card) Like???? Have you read that??? Plz read that card story he is so cute???

I hate that some of them don't even want to give this man a chance... well it's probably my curse too cause i keep liking the "least popular" and deep character like this-

Character like Vyn,Lucien(MLQC) Victor(MLQC) is the type of characters that you have to pay really close attention their affection is subtle. The way the text describe how their eyes,their heart,the subtle reaction, the difference between MC and others that kind of thing I love to find and read and just UGH I LOVE YOU GUYS
