ENVIRONMENTAL ADVOCATE CROWNED MISS TEEN TOURISM PHILIPPINES 2019 By Noli A. Berioso A young environmental advocate from Valenzuela City was crowned the first ever Miss Teen Tourism Philippines 2019 during the finale of the pageant last May 12 at the Carlo P. Romulo Auditorium , RCBC Plaza in Makati City. Kira Eowyn Manasala bested thirty-three other teens to become the inaugural winner of the pageant. During the press conference right after the coronation, Kira says that she is aware that there are many factory in their city manufacturing plastic products. She want to be the voice of the youth and given the chance to talk with the local officials in their place she would like to tackle the environmental issue with them to minimize the problems pertaining to plastic garbages Early favorite Roberta Tamondong of San Pablo, Laguna was named 1st runner-up and Rose Ann Pangilinan representing San Fernando, Pampanga took home the 2nd runner-up honnor. Completing the Top 7 finalists are the candidates from Tiwi, Albay, Candaba, Pampanga, Muntinlupa City and Legazpi, Albay. Former Ms. Philippine Earth 2013 Angelee Delos Reyes is one of the hosts of the pageants. Judges at the coronation night include actress Assunta De Rosi, blogger Voltaire Tayag, Mr. Universe Tourism Phil Kelvin Aguilan, Nix Soriano of Nix Institute of Beauty, Rob Hayden, Sara Kae and Michael Sta. SAN JOSE, Occidental Mindoro, Setyembre 20 (PIA) -- Nakalikom kamakailan ang isinagawang Alay Lakad 2019 ng P858,407 na gagamiting karagdagang pondo sa scholarship program nito, ayon sa tanggapan ng Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWDO).

Sinabi ni Alice Cajayon, opisyal ng MSWDO, na ang Alay Lakad Scholarship Program (ALSP) ay may layong matulungan ang mga mahihirap na kabataan ng San Jose sa kanilang mga gastusin sa pagaaral.

"Sinasala natin ang mga nais maging iskolar upang piliin ang mga matatalinong bata na kabilang sa mahirap na pamilya, paliwanag ng opisyal. Aniya, nakabase sa laki ng pondong nalikom ang bilang ng makukuhang iskolar.

“Noong nakaraang taon (Alay Lakad 2018), higit P800,000 din ang nakuha natin kaya may 32 iskolar ang nadagdag sa programa,” pagbibigay halimbawa ni Cajayon.

Pagbabahagi pa ng opisyal, sa ilang dekada nang isinasagawa ng San Jose ang Alay Lakad ay marami na ang nakapagtapos at may maayos na kabuhayan.

  Dagdag pa ni Cajayon, kinikilala niyang isang dakilang gawain ang Alay Lakad dahil nagtutulungan ang mga mamamayan ng San Jose para sa kinabukasan ng mga kabataan. Katunayan, may 182 na iba’t bang organisasyon aniya ang sumama sa Alay Lakad ngayong taon at sa pagtaya ng San Jose Municipal Station (SJMPS), higit 10,000 indibidwal ang nakiisa. Sinabi ni Cajayon na umabot ng higit tatlong oras ang paglalakad ng mga ito at pagkatapos ay lumahok sa isang programa na idinaos sa municipal plaza.

“Isang magandang patunay at inspirasyon ang mga benepisyaryo ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps),” sabi ni Cajayon. Aniya, kahit mahirap ang katayuan sa buhay, laging nakasuporta ang mga ito sa Alay Lakad. Katunayan ay nakapag-ambag sila ng higit P62,000 ngayong taon. paglalahad ni Cajayon.

Sa isinagawang programa ay ginawaran ng pagkilala bilang may pinakamalaking kontribusyon sa ALSP 2019 sina Bokal Diana Apigo Tayag (P25,000) individual category, Occidental Mindoro State College (P139, 980) school category at ang pamahalaang lokal ng San Jose (P75,000) sa government agency category.

Samantala, inaanyayahan ng MSWDO ang mga kabataang nais makabilang sa ALSP.
