Have you ever dreamed of making your own fantasy town? Take those sim-dreams and make them real with Pioneers of Pagonia.

New Semester started, we had some new subjects and today were the first lessons of two new ones.

I go to my university, sit down, get all comfortable and the first thing my prof asks us to do, is scribble down on some sheets of paper how we make toast. Like, how do we make a good ol' sandwich, in detail, beginning to end.

Do we get it out of a plastic bag? Do we have it in tiny boxes? Do we take one or two slices? Do we use a toast maker of a regular toaster? What type of toast do we make, crispy or luke warm? What are we putting on it? Butter? Salami, Cheese, Salad, anything at all?

I sat there for an entire hour, wondering what got me here in life, until he finally explained why we are doing this. We are supposed to build a mobile game or app and he wanted to pick something funny as topic. Which is great. I love this guy.

We spent the rest of the time figuring out how to make buttons and make them do what we want them to do, which was funny and cool all in all.

But THEN came new subject number two. A new Professor. And guess what. This guy has played so many games, we couldn't name a single game he hadn't at least heard a lot of. He was in the industry since he was fourteen years old and learned under the developer of The Settlers, Volker Wertich. Damn, he helped develop the DS and Wii game for Anno.

The longer he talked, the wider my mouth stood open because of his experience and the honor to learn from someone like him. But the best part came, when we had to introduce ourselves. I told him my name, age, then I said which games I play and when I mentioned The Walking Dead, we immediately got into a minute long conversation about how great the game is and how crazy it is that this game made us cry with this amazing story.

We even used Telltale Games as an example in our lecture, lemme tell you, I am so looking forward to this subject.

The Settlers is coming to the PC in 2020, gets new Gamescom 2019 trailer

Ubisoft has announced that The Settlers will release on the PC in 2020. Moreover, the team revealed more details about the Glory winning strategy, as well as a brand new gameplay trailer.

Led by Volker Wertich, the original creator of the franchise, and developed by Ubisoft Düsseldorf, the latest version of The Settlers brings back the best, modernized elements from previous The Settlers titles. The game promises to combine these elements with brand new features and gameplay systems.

Going into more details, The Settlers combines a fresh take on the familiar gameplay mechanics of the series with new features like a new food system and a motivational meta-game to create a unique game experience. The campaign and optional side missions can be played either solo or co-operative.

The game will also offer various online multiplayer modes. According to Ubisoft, the game will also have emotional storylines. Players will watch as thousands of settlers live their lives and complete their daily work.

As we’ve already reported, The Settlers will be using Ubisoft’s proprietary Snowdrop engine. As such, the game promises to set a new visual benchmark in the build-up strategy genre.

Ubisoft Reveals The Settlers (2019) Gamescom 2018 Trailer

Ubisoft Blue Byte, lead by series creator Volker Wertich is bringing The Settlers back to PC. The newest Settlers game will include “a new food system, a multi-worker job system, and alternative methods of victory.”

The Settlers will release in Fall of 2019.

In addition, Ubisoft has also announced The Settlers History Collection to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary. The collection will include all seven previous The Settlers games, each complete will all expansions and game improvements, optimized for modern PCs. Check out the trailer here.

The Settlers History Collection will release on Uplay PC on November 15, 2018. However, if you can’t wait The Settlers I History Edition is available now on Uplay.
