Perfect Days
Continue reading Perfect Days

he could just congratulate her, but why would he do that? the words would likely taste bitter on his tongue and he wasn't prepared to address exactly why that was. even if he wasn't convinced this new relationship of hers would actually last. "oh i'm not? is that just in case you get cold feet? that way you can still turn around and run straight back to me?" rowan didn't mind, it wasn't as if he really had any other plans to make a new pact with someone else. he figured he'd get married when his parents told him it was time to settle down, most likely with someone already picked out and waiting for his call. it had happened to his sister. "seems a little unfair to me."

do you have any interest in making videos about photography/cinematography in the future? vivian anne meier's story seems up your alley
Maybe if I find a topic that includes the few photographers I know, or leads me on a path towards photography or cinematography. There is a lot of stuff like that on YouTube already.

Finding Vivian Meier
Gosh.
She's a fascinating human being.
If there ever was a potential for a Martian to show up on earth in the form of a human being and live life amongst - she is it. She observed the world with such curiosity, and awareness of every single detail around her, and her photographs, are honestly, gorgeous. Like, insanely, incredibly beautiful to my eye. She documented everything's if every-single-thing was worthy of noting. it's amazing, she made an era that could have been lost to memories more present, because she captured every single possible memory or occurrence.
She made photo's of a caliber up there with the great documentarians like Diane Arbus & Henri Carter-Brensson. Her compositions are my favourite part of her skill, they give off a narrative. So crisp and nuanced. The fact that the great museums of our age refuse to acknowledge her body of work, really ruffles my metaphorical feathers, and it's upsetting. Is it because she was a nanny? a lowly poor woman of no consequence? its a shame. I love that we as artists don't need those big institutions anymore, we exist within a different age, and in this age, we can acknowledge and raise the profile of anyone talented, whether the archaic institutions agree to acknowledge the talent or not. The masses have a voice now too.
I don't know why she took all those photos, and kept them all hidden though, I think it could have just been for the sheer joy of doing it? That's enough reason isn't it? not everything has to be done for the thrill of someone else, it could be just because it made her happy in the moment. She stored them like all her other memory keepsakes.
Memories must mean a lot to her.. Do you think it's because her mother also took photo's, that it was her way to be connected to her since she didn't have her with her anymore? Perhaps nostalgia?
I do want to consider ethics though, she is a hugely private human, like, hugely. Utterly eccentric too, she would never in a million years want her work to be seen without her permission surely? the way she kept everything she owned bolted in her room is the big clue to this. So, I mean, saying that now that she's passed she would want the images all over museums, eh, I mean, she can't protest can she? So does John actually believe that she wants the world to see her images (due to her wanting her images printed by her favourite printers in France) orrrr is that something he really wants us to believe? We'll never know.
Just a quick final note, she was obviously unwell, but I also noted how faulty memories can be, some remembered her as lovely, others the opposite...some said she said to use this name, others said another... Perspectives and memories can be coloured by time, so it's hard to know exactly what was true about her, or myth.
Artists are nuanced, and complex creatures.

Beasley Stunts: John C. Meier Stunts: Mic Rodgers Movie Reviews: Wuchak: _**Another trip to Jupiter to find answers**_ After the mysterious failure of the Discovery One mission to Jupiter in 2001, Dr. Heywood Floyd (Roy Scheider) resigned his position as head of the National Council for Astronautics. Several years later, the Soviets send the spacecraft Leonov & crew to Jupiter along with three Americans, including Floyd, to help investigate Discovery and the malfunction of the vessel’s sentient computer, HAL 9000. Keir Dullea returns as the missing astronaut David Bowman while Helen Mirren plays the captain of the Leonov. Bob Balaban and John Lithgow also appear as the other two American astronauts. “2010: The Year We Make Contact” (1984) is realistic science-fiction that’s less artsy and more dramatically compelling compared to its predecessor, “2001: A Space Odyssey” (1968). That doesn’t make it better, of course, just different. “2001” raised questions while this one provides answers, which some people inevitably won’t like. The questions include: Why did HAL malfunction? What was the real reason for Discovery’s original mission, unknown to Floyd? What happened to Bowman? What is the purpose of the colossal monolith orbiting Jupiter? Both films compliment and counterbalance each other. This one’s more of a straightforward space adventure in the near future. Unlike Star Wars, which is space fantasy, “2010” is space-oriented adult science-fiction. Star Trek is too, but “2010” is far more realistic, which I appreciate. In other words, don’t expect any Klingons or spacecraft dogfights. This is more along the lines of “Mission to Mars” (2000) and “The Martian” (2015). The film runs 1 hours, 56 minutes. GRADE: B r96sk: A much more standard affair compared to its predecessor. Given that’s the case, I honestly enjoyed this more than ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ – if only because it’s more closer to what I’d personally want from a film than what that 1968 ...
