 He came, He saw, He conquered! Virat Kohli has become a force to reckon with in the world of national and international cricket because of his outstanding performances. He is one of the best batsmen and also an occasional right-arm medium pace bowler in the present era. Hailing from a humble background to becoming the cricketing superstar, Virat's success story is nothing but inspirational. On the occasion of the Indian skipper's 32nd birthday, let's take a look at his motivational tales which will give you an adrenaline rush:
1. Early Life
Born in the capital Delhi on 5 November 1988, Virat is the youngest kid in the Kohli family. He has two eldest siblings- brother Vikas and sister Bhawna. His father Prem Kohli was a criminal lawyer while his mother Saroj is a housewife. Virat was interested in cricket since his childhood days. At the age of 3, he would pick up a cricket bat and ask his dad to bowl to him.  He did his early schooling from Vishal Bharti Public School. Later at the age of 9, Virat's father enrolled his name at the West Delhi Cricket Academy as the young boy's interest in cricket continued to grow. He trained at the institution under the guidance of Rajkumar Sharma. In 2002, he played for Delhi Under-15 squad and scored maximum runs in Polly Umrigar Trophy tournament. Later he got selected in the Delhi Under-17 team for the Vijay Merchant Trophy and helped the team win the tournament.
 2. Career Craft
After giving consistent ground-breaking performances Virat earned him a place in the India Under-19 squad on its tour of England in 2006. Kohli was 18 when his father died at the age of 54 after suffering a cardiac arrest. His father's untimely demise plunged the family into a financial crisis leaving more responsibilities on his shoulders. Just a few hours after his father’s death, the cricketer walked onto the pitch and scored 90 runs for Delhi. While talking to India Today Virat once said, "The incident that has changed me is the first season in Ranji Trophy where my father had passed away and I had to go out and play. Unknowingly, it made me the person I'm today".
He led the Indian team to victory at the 2008 ICC U-19 World Cup which was held in Malaysia. Later he was bought by the IPL franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore. On August 18, 2008, the Delhi based batsman made a rather disappointing ODI debut against Sri Lanka in a loss. He scored just 12 runs as an opener. Kohli’s journey has been full of ups and downs but at the end of the day, everything was worth his efforts.
He received his first man of the match award against the West Indies in a group match during 2009 ICC Champions Trophy. Later in the same year, he scored his first ODI century against Sri Lanka.  With his consistent performances, he earned him a place in the 2011 World Cup squad.
He made his Test debut at the India tour of West Indies Virat was one of three uncapped players in the Test squad. Later he made his mark in the Test cricket during India's tour of Australia in Dec 2011
In 2012 Kohli was appointed as the vice-captain of Asia Cup in Bangladesh. In the final group stage match against Pakistan, he scored the highest individual score ie 183 against Pakistan and broke West Indies’ Brian Lara’s record of 156. Later he continued his successful stints throughout 2013. He was named as the captain of the Indian test squad in 2014. His career craft saw a drop in 2015 when he was unable to score big numbers.
 The Indian skipper soon regained his form and became the fastest batsman in the world to make 1,000 runs in T20I cricket. He was in a blazing form in 2016.
 3. Married Life
Virat Kohli tied the knot with the popular Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma on December 11, 2017, at Borgo Finocchieto in Tuscany, Italy.The private affair was graced by both the families and a few close relatives. At present, the couple is expecting their first child.
4 Successful ventures
Virat's second favourite sport is Football.  He purchased the FC Goa franchise of the Indian Super League (ISL) in 2014. In the same year, he became the brand ambassador and a stakeholder in the London-based social networking venture 'Sport Convo'. He later launched a fashion label WROGN in association with Anjana Reddy's Universal Sportsbiz.
In 2015, Virat became the co-owner of the UAE Royals franchise of the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL).  He also funded a total of INR 90 crore in a chain of fitness stations 'Chisel'. In 2016, Virat launched Stepathlon Kids in association with Stepathlon Lifestyle which is a fitness venture for children.
