It’s El WooWoo Wednesday, my dudes!! Thank you @larkral and @artsyunderstudy for the tags.
A while ago I was asking around if American can reject receipts. I needed it for Ljubim te, cause having to accept a receipt “by law” was so weird to me when I was living in Slovenia.
Yes, Quinn is here!
Blaine loves watching Quinn discover the city and the country. On her first day in Ljubljana, he takes her to the CityPark shopping mall at BTC City. BTC City is incredibly ugly, but that also makes it fun in a way. Quinn also has to get used to the fact that you need to accept the receipts here. Blaine’s gotten used to it, but Quinn is a bit surprised when an exasperated cashier basically pushes the receipt into her hands.
“It’s due to a law. Don’t ask me,” Blaine says as she leads her to the next shop.
On her second day, they rent a car and visit the Vintgar Gorge before heading out to hike in the mountains at Lake Bohinj. The lake itself is also gorgeous and Blaine knows that people swim there in the summer. On the third day, they visit Maribor, the second largest city of the country.
It's great. Quinn is definitely falling in love with Slovenia the same way Blaine did.
BTC was so fucking ugly, guys. It looked so damn hideous.
Anyway, small thesis update. I didn’t do a lot this week for two reasons: a) I am freaking rushing to get my “fun” shit in order before Tears of the Kingdom comes out which is in 2 days (!) so I am reading A Restless Truth like crazy and I want to finish the Minish Cap before I start Tears of the Kingdom. Is it a very irresponsible thing to put you thesis on hold in order to finish a book and a video game before another video game comes out? Yes. But b) I was legit stuck on my thesis. Not only that, but I found out I had no clue what I was doing, so I couldn’t do a lot. Kinda. I did speak to my thesis advisor on Tuesday and I can advance now and I could’ve done that today but I didn’t because I went to a museum exhibition on queer joy and tomorrow I have a festival so I don’t have a lot of time and I gotta finish that book and game!
Priorities!
But I did fight my thesis advisor on the usage of aliases. She said it was a bad idea. Fun, but kinda stupid. I was like “maybe this is the weirdest hill to die on regarding my thesis, but I want these aliases and I will die on this hill” and after I had to add some sentences reassuring my readers that these aliases were vastly different from their actual names, it was fine!
