But oughhhh uwaaaah niisan uwaaaaaah actually perfectly articulates the thing a lot of people get wrong abt Vincent when writing his narration which is that he doesn't pity himself at all or consciously think about how much he hates himself or perceive having spent his entire life in preparation of his death as something worth grieving or even really thinking about it is to him a necessary means to an end and not something he considers at all unfortunate in comparison to the alternative

#logxx #logam #Like if someone handed someone next to you a live grenade and then handed you a rotten apple #You're not going to think abt how unfortunate it was that you got handed a rotten apple #You're going to think about how at least you didn't get handed a live grenade #Even if plenty of people around you have perfectly good apples #Vincent doesn't fucking Care that his life sucks and nothing makes him happy and he's going to die alone at least not consciously #Because the alternative which he knows for a favt will happen if he does not go through with it is something utterly utterly horrifying #And he as a matter of fact cares immensely more for other people than he does himself #There's a kind of disconnect with what Hating Yourself means like he doesn't spend every waking moment thinking abt how he needs to hurt #He spends every waking moment thinking about what he needs to sacrifice to save others #And it Just So Happens >_< that means Hurting Himself. A Lot #Literally just walking up to PH fans asking them one way Vincent has actually insulted himself #And one way Vincent has actually complimented Gil #Other than Vincent saying he needs to die (which isn't smth he thinks of as a personal matter but a logical conclusion)#And Vincent saying Uncomfortable Things which he's saying BECAUSE they make ppl uncomfortable #And which could be said about literally anyone on Earth. Literally none of them are personal qualities he admires that are specific to Gil #Ughhh nyway #So many people read that Vincent wanted to kill himself and thought this had no impact on the rest of his characterization #As if it were something he literally just came up with when he met Leo #And not something he'd been obsessed with since his adoption
