xavier in dbd is truly fucking wild his psychic power work different and he WILL leave another survivor to die. i'm working on it still be he seems to be angling more towards a burgeoning observer or vigo type. his parents are both spiritualists and such so his preexisting knowledge base and powerset kinda lead him to being a guy who can perceive the matrix and possibly interact/manipulate/change it.

eille mentioned stuff about dbd survs losing their memories every time they die and i think that vittorio is one of the few that doesn't because of his deeper connection to the entity being one of the survs that has wandered different realms and had a connection to vigo the observer benedict etc. i think there's a deeper reason why she tortures him with the memories of every trial and death and being forced to remember everything but i'm not confident i wanna add him to my roster yet so i haven't explored it more

The observer (i know he isnt faceless anymore but we know next to nothing so i still consider him "faceless") vigo and baker and the og survivors before dwight and them ! The black vale and its members....HOW SO MANY STORIES ARE SO TIED TOGETHER ITS INSANE! HOW EVEN CARMINA HAS CONNECTIONS TO HADDIE AND HOW HERMAN IS ALSO CONNECTED TO DREDGE AND HADDIE THROUGH HIS MENTOR i feel like people really sleep on the fact that the entity often times works for YEARS to create killers...years of subtle influence and minor events years of dark whispers and impulses....of trickery and manipulation. What are the celestials ? How do they scale in power compared to the entity? Why are the observer towers so protected? Why has the observers gone in hiding/been killed off? Im really hoping the dbd movie is just a huge lore dump and not just a oh here are trials and a vauge ending of possible escape for the characters!

Is the same person who teams up with tomb haddie to hunt down the black vale also the same person who employed elodie to track down stuff as well? Or someone with connection to them? Maybe the same group that elodies and felix parents where apart of are the ones helping elodie and haddie?

(a brief interim for those unfamiliar: survivors and killers are roles given by the entity, and are indicative but not representative of the character's morality. killers and survivors are pitted against each other in brutal asymmetrical trials.)

etoiles, phil and mouse are chase killers. this means their power(s) favour ending chases quickly, downing survivors, and putting pressure on survivors through injury. chase killers are optimised to kill bold survivors, and may struggle with objective survivors.

luzu/arin and missa are stealth killers. their power(s) favour catching survivors offguard, and promoting a false sense of security/paranoia. stealth killers do very well against alturistic survivors, and struggle with bold survivors.

antoine, fit, willy and vegetta are control killers. they favour putting pressure on survivors by stalling survivor objectives, preventing progress, and holding the trial hostage for as long as possible to maximise oppotunity. they directly counter objective survivors, but can be stalled out by bold and alturistic survivors.

cellbit, maximus, pol, slime and mike are objective survivors. their perks center around survivor objectives; generators, totems, looting, archives and gates. survivors can only escape with all five generators repaired and the gates open; their abilities make this quicker and easier for everyone.

baghera, aypierre, rivers, spreen and tubbo are bold survivors. their teachables empower them to make risky plays, give them bonuses in chase, and overall prioritise taking the killer's attention and keeping the heat off their teammates.

forever, mariana, roier, pac, quackity, niki and tina are altruistic survivors. their perks are team-focused, allowing for both aggressive (tanking) and passive (healing) altruism which keeps the team alive and cohesive.

bbh, foolish, felps, jaiden and wilbur are true survivors (or "survival survivors") wherein their perks are geared towards getting THEMSELVES out of the trial. survivalists are wild cards- they'll do basically anything to get out alive. their weakness lies in the fact that dead by daylight is a teamwork-based game, and a team of four survivalists is no team at all.

in the real world are all the eggs (who either don't exist or are adopted) and the members who haven't really given me anything to work with yet, because husking them into the void for their crimes is mean.

cucurucho and rubius are not nessecarily with/of the entity; they just manage to get out of trials through other means, like vigo and benedict. their humanity, however, is dubious at best.

I will be adding the Entity to the blog for some funsies so I guess I might as well write up some stuff about the lore of the Entity/Realm?? Since DBD as a game doesn't show you the lore like a story or anything. The Entity itself is an all-powerful, 'eldritch' being that peers through all of time and space, potentially even dimensions, to swallow worlds whole. Earth is not the first world the Entity has consumed nor will it be its last. Time is irrelevant to the Entity as it selects Survivors and Killers from any and all points within the timeline - hence why we have characters like the Plague and the Knight and the Singularity. The Entity feeds off the despair and violence, using it as entertainment and sustenance. However, if Survivors 'break', as in lose any and all will to fight, kill, or survive, the Entity tosses them away in the Void, a pitch black area of nothingness. It IS possible to escape from this place, but only during a small portion of the year and only if you know what to do. Only two characters have ever escaped the Void (The Blight and Vigo). The Entity's Realms are not disconnected or disjointed, but are small pockets created from places of extreme importance - especially those associated with trauma. If characters share similar locations, oftentimes the Entity will co-opt the space and craft a new location tailored to a Killer within the associated Realm of another killer. Realms are connected, otherwise, through large and expansive plains of forests, broken cities, and other ruins. Realms not associated with a killer and therefore considered outside their 'territory' are often inhabited by grotesque monsters such as giant plants, monstrous snakes, spiders, and more. These creatures are most likely products of the Entity. Ironically, the only safe places from these creatures are cages in themselves - Trials, locations of the killers. And the campfire. Killers and especially Survivors are able to traverse the Realm almost freely, though it appears nigh endless.

The campfire is the only 'safe' zone for survivors where they're not immediately at risk of being killed by random monsters or the designated Killers. The campfire is surrounded by various flora that reacts the wishes of survivors, if they know how to use it. Healing herbs and other plants can be found here. This is the only zone specifically crafted for survivors to use to prepare themselves. The Entity wants you to hope, after all. It needs to make these games somewhat fair. Killers are not the only beings that can form connections to the Entity - Survivors can as well if they gain enough favor or have the ability to form connections with it and can use the Entity's power for their own means, if only in a far more limited capacity.

Killers unwilling to assist the Entity are twisted and mutated - the further the degradation, the less willing the killer. Killers that look entirely human went into the fog willingly and continue to serve the Entity willingly.

The Entity can be felt even outside of its own Realm and is often accompanied by droning or buzzing sounds. The Entity also has a 'voice', but it is undecipherable and speaks no known language. The Entity's gaze can be felt by Killers and Survivors and it often sees through the eyes of the Killer's themselves.

The Entity interacts with the 'real' world in various ways to plot out the fates of Survivors and Killers. It inspires greater anger, violence, and bloodshed and can directly influence the world in order to bring about grief, anger, and pain. It will even lead to deaths in order to sink its teeth into potential Survivors and Killers if it knows doing so will lead them both onto a path into the fog.

The Entity is technically genderless though it's referred to with she/it.

Animals can be brought to and from the Entity's Realm.
