‘Shut the fuck up, Stan,’ V said in barely more than a whisper, though not without heat. Not that she was looking at him, or had even fully acknowledged his arrival in the room. Her attention was focused almost entirely on the young woman that had crawled out of what she could only describe as a sarcophagus. ‘Mom?’

She felt rather than saw Madi’s attention snap to her, but Chris’s moved slower. As if some tiny part of her understood the truth of the name despite how impossible it was.

‘Who are you?’ the young Chris Gordon asked, demand and fear vying for dominance in her voice.

V swallowed. ‘Nica,’ she offered softly; the family nickname for once feeling almost wrong on her lips. ‘But you need to go back.’

‘No,’ Chris breathed, terror winning out as she looked back to Madi, almost beseechingly. ‘He killed Jamie.’

‘Uncle Jamie?’ Madi asked, shock in her voice that made V aware of just how much of a conversation she must have missed in her state of shock. ‘But – that can’t –’

‘You have to,’ V insisted, forcing herself to step forwards. Her mother’s eyes were filled with a fear that broke her heart, and yet she had to go back. Technically she already had, right? Time travel made no sense, but it didn’t matter right then. She made a mental note to speak to her mom about all this when she got out of there and saw her again... Saw the proper her, at least. ‘You’ll get through this.’

‘You can’t know that.’

‘I can, Mom,’ she offered softly.

Chris’s brow furrowed ever so slightly. It felt as if the room was holding its breath.

And then, her mother rolled her shoulders, took a breath. ‘I need to warn the others,’ she murmured, glancing between the three of them. ‘Can you help me go back?’

‘Yes,’ V said before Stan could spout any more bullshit. She just hoped she was doing the right thing. Not only for her own sake, but for her mother’s as well.

The Casting of Frank Stone OCs

1963 – Partner of Sam Green: Mollie Curtis (Jessie Buckley). A newly sworn in police officer, Mollie is partnered with Sam though both of them think it is simply because they might otherwise cause too much trouble to their superiors due to more modern thinking on their parts. She goes to investigate with Sam, and has a confrontation with Augustine due to not ending up in the furnace chamber below in the hopes of helping from a higher vantage point. Something about what is said here makes her wonder what exactly is going on, and she ends up down a little rabbit hole of her own trying to work things out.  

1980 – Cousin of Bonnie and Jamie Rivera: Oswald ‘Oz/Ozzie’ Garcia (Evan Evagora). Oz’s mother is the younger sister to the Rivera sibling’s father but she died when he was younger, he never knew his father but was taken into the Rivera household when he was only a toddler. He grew up in Cedar Hills and has always loved art; he does a lot of work for creating posters and things for the group when they are making Murder Mill. During their research, he finds something in the house that makes him wonder about Jamie’s links to Frank Stone, and which only worries him more about his cousin. Oz harbours feelings for Robert Green, but is too scared to say anything; he is grateful when Robert goes to get his father, and is the one to bump into Bonnie and Linda before they find the camera can help protect them against Frank Stone.

2024 – Daughter of Chris Gordon: Veronica ‘V/Nica’ Gordon Kirkwell (Meaghan Martin). Veronica is the only daughter of Chris Gordon, now a University lecturer in crime history, and Michael Kirkwell, a Scottish film producer. She stole the piece of film and Augustine’s letter from her mother simply because she wanted an adventure. The first to arrive at the castle, she jokingly teases Stan about actually being Augustine but quickly gets bored of the ruse and instead tries to figure out how exactly he got his piece of the film. Veronica will end up seeing her mother come through the portal and despite desperately wanting to know more, be a driving force in her going back as she is certain that it’s her mother and not a person from an alternative timeline.
